"The food at this H Street NE restaurant was as eclectic as its name, with chef-owner Sam Adkins serving small plates that put bright Southeast Asian salads and French pate side-by-side. After about four years of producing food that made it a local favorite, Sally’s closed with a humongous silver lining. The venue became a permanent home for Thamee, a one-time Burmese pop-up at Sally’s that’s now Eater D.C.’s reigning Restaurant of the Year." - Tierney Plumb

"Sally’s Middle Name, known for its seasonal, globetrotting small plates, will close at the end of the month. The restaurant opened in 2015 and received a two-star review from Washington Post critic Tom Sietsema. This year, Washingtonian rated it No. 53 in its top 100 D.C. restaurants, and it's a finalist for a local Rammy award for Upscale Casual Restaurant of the Year." - Gabe Hiatt

It was a beautiful day so we sat out on the back patio. It is a small plate menu so we got some plates to share. Asparagus was is season and the dish was our favorite. The drink selection was great as well and very refreshing.

Had an awesome meal here last night on the patio. All 7 dishes were spot on and it was beautiful outside. Small but workable beer and wine list. We'll be back!

I was charmed by the name and dropped in after the wait at another restaurant was 2 hours. Sally's Middle Name seated us immediately (pulling out a table just for us). I'm glad we went in. The food was outstanding. Distinct and delectable flavors to taste and savor. The shoot salad had a dressing to die for. The garlic aioli dip for the French fries was spicy and flavorful. The green curry was sumptuous with curry and squash. The iceberg of an ice cube in the Little Kicker was a visual delight and the drink wasn't bad either.

Expensive and small portions... It's easy to leave hungry. But having said that, it was all very good and obviously great efforts are put into the menu and the food preparation. More than half of our group of 6 felt they hadn't gotten as much food as they would have liked. As the menu changes daily according to what they find locally, another day might have been a different story on how pleasing the choices available were, but that doesn't change the quantity issue most felt. I did have a very herbal-tasting cocktail that was absolutely fantastic. I'd definitely go back for the beer and mixed drink selection!

Fabulous. Had an assortment of sized dishes and everything was great, from the fresh seedy rye bread and butter to the asparagus with minted goat cheese, all the way through the Szechuan pork ribs and really incredible 'new bay' chicken (perfectly cooked).

Love this spot. Lots of delicious plates. Bloody Mary was nice and spicy. Dinner seemed to have a few more options. It’s a rotating menu so occasionally they are out of items, which was a disappointment. Love the clean design of the interior. Probably not the greatest for large groups. Did see a child at the restaurant but don’t necessarily know that I would call it kid-friendly. Wait staff was very friendly and helpful.

This place is fantastic. Just the vibe I was looking for. Nice locals serving great food. Try that fried chicken on Wednesday nights.
