"There's no other way to put it, The Gallows is just a really awesome bar. It's a neighborhood haunt at it's heart, with a staff that will likely remember your name as well as your drink order. The bar serves up inventive cocktails based on classic recipes often with a flare for kitschy concoctions. The food menu is made of risky translations of American comfort food like a grilled corn muffin with pulled pork, jalapeño pepper jelly, avocado and pickled red onion or the Carpet Burger topped with fried oysters, chipotle rémoulade, grilled onions and cheese. For the sandwiches, it’s all about the Gallows, which has the breakfast dream team (eggs fried to order, tender thick-cut bacon, melty american cheese), along with mashed avocado and a crispy hash brown. The two spots have even joined forces to do a breakfast sandwich that comes on a griddled vanilla glazed donut.
