The 15 Best Peruvian Restaurants In Miami

"Salmon & Salmon is a Miami Peruvian classic. A meal here starts with warm rolls and a small bowl of nutty homemade ají sauce. The causa appetizer is plated adorably—the potato and seafood cake is molded in a flower shape and served on a bed of lettuce with squiggles of sweet and creamy salsa golf. However, the chicharrón de pescado appetizer might be the best thing here: a mountain of breaded and fried fish chunks crowned with a tangle of sarsa criolla. Salmon & Salmon - Review - Little Havana - Miami - The Infatuation

"While many of Miami’s Peruvian restaurants have adopted the more recent style of Peruvian dining, Salmon & Salmon continues to follow the older Limeño spots that modeled themselves on classic European-style restaurants while serving typical Creole dishes. A meal here starts with warm rolls and a small bowl of nutty homemade ají sauce. A causa appetizer follows the traditional recipe but is elegantly plated—the potato and seafood cake is molded in a flower shape and served on a bed of lettuce with squiggles of sweet and creamy salsa golf—and steak dishes are accompanied by carved potato flowers. However, the chicharrón de pescado appetizer might be the best thing here: a mountain of breaded and fried fish chunks crowned with a tangle of sarsa criolla. As an entrée, you should ask for the off-menu combo of lomo saltado on top of a massive plate of tacu tacu, a crispy fried rice and bean cake. Food Rundown photo credit: Tasty Planet Lomo Saltado Back when finding a properly made lomo saltado was a rarity in Miami, Salmon & Salmon was one of the few places that did it correctly—and their version is still great. They use big chunks of sirloin (the traditional cut for this dish), the onions are crisp but not raw, the tomatoes are just blistered without falling apart, and the french fries are hot and crunchy. Everything is a little charred from being stir-fried in a pan so hot it probably hurts to look at. Plus, the amount of sauce is perfect—enough to wet your rice without making everything soggy. It’s just a good example of what a traditional lomo saltado should be. photo credit: Tasty Planet Tacu Tacu This is one of the more difficult Peruvian dishes to make because if you don’t flip this rice and bean cake in the pan just right, everything will fall apart. Salmon Salmon’s version comes to the table flat as a disc—almost like a Spanish tortilla—indicating that they only fried one side. However, we’ll give them a pass because the stewed canary beans they make for this dish are flavorful and creamy and they leave the tacu tacu in the pan long enough to get a really beautiful, crunchy crust." - Carlos C Olaechea

Google
I was truly super impressed. The food was beyond tasty. The music was just perfect and the restaurant was extremely clean. The ladies that attended us were super pleasant and friendly. We are definitely going back. If you are looking for tasty food that won't destroy your pockets, you must go to this place. Nothing fancy, but this is exactly what Miami needs!!!!

Google
I love the service that we get from Maritza. She's amazing! We've come here so much that she feels like family. They know us by name and always a warm reception. Wonderful food, great consistent service. I highly recommend this place.

Google
I’ve been coming to Salmon Salmon for 15 years, and it’s still hands-down one of my favorite spots in Miami. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared—especially the salmon dishes, which are out of this world. Huge love to Lisa and Dayana for making our visit extra special. Their service was warm, attentive, and genuinely made us feel at home. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out. Trust me—this place is a gem!

Alcides Díaz

Google
Excellent family restaurant, this is a whole in the wall, small place but it's awesome. We stopped in and we're a party of five, we had appetizers and main entrees. Definitely if you're in the area it's a must stop. We were here for late lunch early dinner, the whole family love it, food was very good and very flavorful. Great Peruvian food experience. Prices are very reasonable come and enjoy.

Google
I been going here for years, and suprised I never left a review. It's small but thos little Peruvian restaurant has a really special take on the Taku Taku, and the Causa, and just about everything on their menu! Good service, atmosphere is very home like, and the food is fantastic!

Samuel Roque

Google
All the food is very tasty but I recommend getting the grilled salmon. I don’t normally get salmon anywhere by here which says a lot. The place has a cozy feeling and the staff are attentive. Parking available.

Claudia

Google
I’ve been coming here for years, and it never disappoints! It’s a small, family-friendly restaurant with the best lomo saltado and combinado—everything is absolutely delicious. All the ladies are amazing and so welcoming. This time, Mary and Estefany took care of us, and as always, their service was exceptional. Highly recommend this place!

Ana Castillo

Google
Excellent service from the friendly ladies! The food is absolutely delicious—some of the best I've had—and the cortadito is the best in town. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Arrived from my trip yesterday hungry and was looking for a place to eat close to the airport. I found this Peruvian spot on Google maps; when we arrived , It's a little hole in the wall but it feels authentic with the decor of the restaurant. We came in to eat during slow hours as there was maybe two tables inside, so service was fast and attentive. I ordered ceviche and salmon platter. The salmon was fresh and flavorful as well the rice and beans. I even brought my left overs home. The only problem was the ceviche, it tasted watery as opposed to that thick lemony ceviche sauce I'm used to from Peruvian ceviche. It also lacked flavor, not enough salt and spices. (My husband is Peruvian so I would know) Aside from this I had a good experience.

Yelp
This place is definitely off the beaten path, but amazing! If you are looking for Peruvian food, this is the place for you! The restaurant is small, so call ahead if you can! Great service and a delicious meal!

Yelp
This visit the atmosphere was a little volatile and uncomfortable with customers and servers passionately talking about the immigration situation. Papas a la Huancaina were good and so was the Aguadito de Mariscos except the calamari rings were still hard and uneatable. It was good that this time the bread was complimentary.

Yelp
Cozy family restaurant on a small strip mall. The food was fresh and delicious. The service good.

Yelp
This is a great place for a local Peruvian cuisine. I try their Peruvian drink. It's like a corn purple drink. That's really good not too sweet the perfect balance of sweetness. They bring bread to the table served with a hot sauce and butter. I usually get the shrimp is picante with white rice. It is my usual go to and it's absolutely delicious. The service is amazing here. It's a very small restaurant probably about 10 tables that as well worth a visit.

Yelp
The food here is always consistently great. The chef and servers have been for many years and are the keys to the great service. Although there is limited seating it is always a good ambiance. My favorite avocado salad in town.

Bio A.

Yelp
No RECOMENDABLE, el ceviche no tiene sabor, el lomo saltado, quemada la carne, no perece restauran peruano y lo peor, muy caro para lo que sirven, no vale la pena botar el dinero

Nelson C.

Yelp
Food is fantastic, great sea food. The service couldn't better. The place is small, looking like a real seafood place.
google avatar

Yelp
I eat here every 3 weeks with a friend who is addicted..it's consistently good .. I get the grilled Salmon .. Ice cold beer and glass ..it's small and great service as well..in a funky little strip mall.. but nice and clean inside..

Yelp
*** hidden treasure alert *** Would give 6 or 7 stars if I could. I can't even start to explain how good this place is, it is just ridiculously good. This is a tiny 8 tables Peruvian Seafood place, it is a family business founded in 1979 (43 yrs of operations at the time of this post) INCREDIBLE! The food was simply amazing, we started with a chicharrón de calamar (fried calamari) which was fried to perfection, then ceviche de pescado (classic ceviche) served with all the right elements of a traditional ceviche including the choclo (big Peruvian corn) and batata (sweet potato), and third we went with a Salmon a la plancha (salmon filet). It was just spectacular! Prices are very reasonable, I would say on the lower side for the freshness and high quality. Service was nice and friendly. Absolutely recommend

Yelp
They have Great ceviche ! If you want Real authentic food in a laid back joint this is your spot.

Yelp
I love this place. Las mejores camareras. Mejor comida Peruana en Miami. I highly recommend EVERYTHING on the menu.

Yelp
Food is delicious but if I ask for no bean sprouts and get home to find freaking bean sprouts in my food one more freaking time!!! Last time they offered me a free replacement but only if I came one day later. Not really helpful but ok. I'll give it four stars cause the food is delicious, but watch it! Lol

Yelp
First time I came to this place was a few years ago and I thought it was amazing but recently came back and was a little disappointed with the lomo saltado- it had a weird burnt like flavor. We also ordered the bistec encebollado which was okay but nothing to blow your mind. Service was very attentive and friendly. This is a little hole in the wall with very little seating. I would give it another chance just because they've been opened for so long- maybe it was a bad night.

Alejandro L.

Yelp
the best lomo saltado and tres leches i have eaten in Florida. The service was really friendly and good, and the ambiance was nice with some traditional decoration from Peru. Words cannot describe how satisfied eating here has left me. PLEASE COME AND TRY THIS, IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

Yelp
Doesn't catch your attention once you pass by, so i probably wouldn't even know that there is an amazing place to eat. So i was really hungry and my sister told me she was going to stop here and meet her there. Place is called SALMON AND SALMON so i didn't even think about it SALMON IT IS! which i really like. She is crazy over ceviche so we asked for that as an appetizer, really good. The amount of the meal is wow, we could even share a plate and appetizer. Service is excellent, the ambience is quiet a low music and place is pretty. You should try it!

Yelp
We visited Salmon $ Salmon this past Good Friday and it was packed. My first review was on point for the time and day I went back then. We had gone during lunch and seating was easy, the staff was pleasant, the food delicious and we were so happy. This time around we went on a Friday at a normally early dinner time for a Friday however it was jam packed. I'm guessing it was because it was a holiday and the locals eat fish on Good Friday. We suffered a little because of this. The service was a much different experience this time around. We needed to ask for EVERYTHING and wait an extremely long time. Refill on water was extremely long, refill on the dinner rolls took forever....no silverware and the service just seemed soooo overwhelmed with the amount of tables they were serving and it showed. The dinner was still as delighting as the first time. We loved everything and everything was a hit. We really did love the food. This restaurant is still a must try because the food is really good and authentic. The decor is cozy and you feel like if you're somewhere else that's not the middle of a shopping strip located on a busy street. Keep in mind that parking is very limited because it is a strip mall so parking is shared by the other business and there are not many spaces in the lot but you can park on the meters along the street. No sweat.

Yelp
I've now written several reviews on this place. I used to live very nearby, now, not so much. My visits have become fewer and further between but my passion for this place has not wavered. This year marks 20 years I've been visiting. It's one of my 3 favorite restaurant in Miami. It's local, way local and very casual. Serious eats inside that we always order family style. Peruvian, it inspired my trip to Lima and still holds my records for best chaufa (Peruvian fried rice), tacu tacu( pan fried rice and bean mixture) and papa la huancaína (potatoes in cheese sauce). The shrimp stuffed avocados are not to be missed and ceviche lovers will not be disappointed. The spicy sauce served with the bread is worth the drive alone and is a must for any leftovers. Service is friendly but emulates a more South American style so curve your expectations. Decor is fisherman style and the place is very small only sitting about 30. It's tucked away in a forgettable/nondescript strip mall where parking is limited for lunch and plentiful for dinner.

Yelp
Food was out of this world- especially the salmon a la plancha. Don't overlook this place.

Terri L.

Yelp
So disappointed! This place "used" to be so incredible! Went today and the food was horrible! Very over priced and there was a small blue rubber band in my soup!! Save your stomach and your money
google avatar

Julio H.

Yelp
This place used to be the 5 star Peruvian restaurant back in the day when Peruvian eateries accounted for less than 10 spots in Miami. They are clearly not relevant anymore, and quality has declined a bit, but the biggest impact to their survival is the abundance of good quality Peruvian restaurants. I came here with some family members who are nostalgic of the good old days. I got a tacu tacu with grilled fish, and we had some causas to share. My food was good, the causas had a bit too much fish taste but they were good also. Everybody else enjoyed their food. To end, I must say that I used to eat everything on the menu, and it was always good. Now, I don't know anymore, but if you are in the mood for tacu tacu, you may fare well at this restaurant.
google avatar

Carla D.

Yelp
This restaurant used to be good, ages ago. Not anymore. The fish ceviche was perhaps the only salvageable dish of the evening. The whole pescado sudado was completely bland, flavorless. The fries in the lomo saltado were not hand cut and tiny. The cream in the papa a la huancaina was way too thick and it was missing heat. Don't waste your time or money eating here. There are so many great Peruvian restaurants in Miami, sadly this one doesn't belong in that category anymore.
google avatar

Ruben R.

Yelp
What a great place. The service from Rosy and Stephanie was great. The food was incredible. Extremely tasty and right on point! The ceviche, lomo salteado and an avocado stuffed with avocado and shrimp was the highlight. Highly recommend this!
google avatar

Robert R.

Yelp
Filie take out orders they charge a surcharge and tried to get a tip also. Never heard of this before. Food is authentic and smells delicious!
google avatar

Greg P.

Yelp
Stopped in for an impromptu dinner and had a great fried fish and Sautéed onion dish. I'd highly recommend.
google avatar

Jo O.

Yelp
It really is a hole in the wall but once you walk in it's like you're on a pirates ship. Nice and cozy, different but an experience. I had the clam chowder soup & loved it. Unfortunately, at the moment they don't have any so that's what lead me to Catch of The Day but def call and confirm :)

Yenis P.

Yelp
Encantada con el lugar el servicio y la comida esquisita la presentacion de los platos muy linda el lugar muy acojedor y relajante

Yanira F.

Yelp
Terrible experience, I went with my two daughter, neither one of us have a good dish, overprice, the service was the worst, theres only two waiters and the older one was a nightmare Edy rude and overcharge, the food was not authentic Peruvian food. Please stay away of this place if you want to eat authentic Peruvian food
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
Definitely one of my favorite hole in the walls. I love the local atmosphere here, and the tasteful decor. This place has some of the best Peruvian food and great portions. The appetizers are definitely delicious. Me and my boyfriend ordered a cold mash and seafood middle surrounded my avocados and tomatoes (as seen on the photo). Forgot the name of the dish but definitely delicious. The plates are to do for! I've had everything from the lomo salteado to the fried fish creole and regular (one of my favorites!) and of course the salmon is delicious. Great place, great service and great atmosphere. Absolutely love it and definitely worth becoming a regular here
google avatar

Stephanie P.

Yelp
Don't let location fool you, this restaurant is a hidden gem found in West Flagler. Parking is scarce and mostly likely you will have to wait outside until a table is ready, but it's worth the wait. The restaurant itself is small, like really small. It is a tight squeeze for everyone, but somehow management makes it work. I had the stuffed avocados and O.M.G. They were amazing. Two avocados stuffed with scallops and shrimp, extremely delicious. We also had the ceviche, it was good. Overall for the quality of food, the price on their menu items are fair.

Judy V.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING!! The food and service is Excellent. From the fish to the cortadito you can't get any better. My husband and I frequently eat here. It's the best!
google avatar

Astrida M.

Yelp
Delicious seafood, great service and cozy atmosphere. We ordered Shrimp Fried Rice and Checho soup. Delicious and pictures attached. Free parking in a strip mall. Very casual. You will be full for hours.
google avatar

Matthew M.

Yelp
First off: BEST TALLARIN SALTADO in Miami. If you have a craving for it, stop looking because this is THE place. Have had lomo, and tacu-tacu from here, both were very decent. The restaurant is TINY, and service (while OK) does not compare to the food. Take my advice: just order food for pick-up. Seriously though: GO TRY THAT TALLARIN!
google avatar

Ivana S.

Yelp
Just came back from Salmon Salmon and ordered the whole fried fish. Ended up getting the dish with a side of a COCKROACH!! Thank god I saw It before I took a bite of It. The best part was that they tried charging us for the dish!!! I mean this is an actual joke right? We should be getting our entire bill taken care of but they didn't seem to be surprised by this incident. We paid and left right away. Such a shame, I used to go with my late uncle all the time years ago.

Alejandra E.

Yelp
I have been going to this restaurant for over a year now and it NEVER disappoints. The tacu tacu is amazing and I love the lomo saltado. Friendly staff and the bread at the beginning is to die for!
google avatar

Tony G.

Yelp
This Peruvian hole in the wall is worth it. The food is spot on with attentive staff. You will probably wait for a table at peak hours. Their salsa picante is tops.
google avatar

Isabel C.

Yelp
Love the food here and feels extremely cozy !!! It's a hole in the wall but definitely worth it.
google avatar

Marlene R.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to eating here with my husband and son. However, we were treated so poorly, we left the restaurant. They served everyone around us, even though we got there before other parties. They never brought my husband his beer, never brought my son water and were rushing us to order despite the fact they brought us 1 menu to share amongst three. Never ever going there again! Horrible!
google avatar

Spencer A.

Yelp
Don't judge this book by its cover. Nestled in a rundown looking strip mall- this place is a hidden gem. Excellent ceviche, warm atmosphere and lovely service. It's small, low key and friendly. And it's been this way for decades. If you want a great meal without the South Beach pretentious attitude- you'll love this place. I highly recommend their homemade hot sauce. Will I go back? Yes as often as possible.
google avatar

Erick H.

Yelp
Amazing food great service and great food! Always a great experience, I don't drink coffee but I always get a cortadito with sugar when I leave. The only bad thing and it's not that big of deal is that when it's 2 ppl they always give u 3 breads instead of 4 smh ... lol, besides that, I love it there. The fried fish is amazing as is the fried fish filet with onions on top!
google avatar

Kiet H.

Yelp
This restaurant is a hidden gem in Little Havana. The food was delicious and healthy. The grilled salmon was extremely seasoned and cooked o perfection; browned on the outside and tender and juicy in the middle. The crap stuffed avocado is to die for! They also served this amazing spicy Peruvian hot sauce that they make in-house. I still dream about this hot sauce. I had to beg them to give me some of it to go.
google avatar

Nairee T.

Yelp
If you're bougie and care about the interior of a restaurant, this place is not for you. However, if what you care about is good food then this IS the place for you. I've been here several times and I am convinced that everything on their menu is absolutely delicious. Their ceviche is incredible and authentic. Their SALMON!!!!! God the name of this restaurant is absolutely perfect. Their salmon is to. die. for. It is always flavorful and tender. They have a white fish, I believe it's bass and it's super delicious too. Their skirt steak is incredible, and they also have a nice sautéed shrimp (in garlic sauce) that's very nice too. But if you're craving fish, this is honestly the place to go to. Even their bread is amazing. It's a cute spot for an intimate date or a place to go with your family. You'll have a great time and the waitresses are always kind and helpful.
google avatar

Josselyn S.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much driving by but it's definitely a must try. It's a really compact but decor is nice. it's best for seafood but I love my steak! Ouu and their sangrias are flat out delicious.

Andres C.

Yelp
I have been a regular here for over 10 years. The service, staff, and food have always been excellent and well-priced, but recently they have been increasing their prices and reducing the plate sizes. On top of that, they are charging way more, an 8% fee, on my final receipt more than the prices on the menu and not explaining why. This is misleading and deceptive to customers. The servers and staff are still excellent as always, and the food quality is still good, but the rising cost, smaller portions, and especially the deceptive and shady practice of overcharging an extra 8% on the bill is unacceptable, and they are losing me as a regular until the management corrects these issues.

Kyle W.

Yelp
Place is a rip off!! The website and Uber says the food cost 22.50 and they ended up charging my card for $29! Absolute crooks and then goes on to tell me that they haven't updated the website with the correct info as if that's the customers fault!

Melisa M.

Yelp
While the chicharrón de pescado and shrimp is delicious do not expect 50/50 shrimp and fish. It is rather 80% fish and 20% shrimp.
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
AMAZING! Service is quick and everything is made fresh. The portions are large and big enough to share. If you go make sure to get the shrimp style fried rice and the tres leches! The women who run the restaurant are so friendly and willing to accommodate. Make sure to visit!
