"Salsa Limón is a newer, family-run chain serving up -style street food, with locations in Fort Worth, Dallas, and . Order a few of their carne asada tacos with one of their homemade salsas—the mild tomatillo is packed with flavor, and the habanero will have smoke coming out of your ears like a cartoon cat. If you stop by from 2-6pm during the week, you can add on a margarita during Happy Hour. " - Emily Smith

"Salsa Limon, purveyor of traditional street tacos and other Central American bites, reopens this week in new digs across from the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. The original museo location closed in 2016 when owners quite literally relocated the building to the River District due to the construction of a new development on University Drive. That development, Elan Crockett Row, is the new home of Salsa Limon Museo II, which will open quietly this Friday, June 26." - Brittanie Shey

Cashier was very nice, but he mistakenly got my order wrong. once i got my order, they forgot to put the extra jalapeños i asked and paid for and i had bigger expectations for a torta. i wish i would’ve grabbed my receipt, maybe they were having a bad day. to end on a positive note, they’re drinks were tasty.

Absolutely wonderful food and experience. The rice and beans are the best anywhere. Highly recommend the Burrito or Tacos. Second time here and will come back on our next Fort Worth trip.

They actually play Salsa! I was so geeked. I traveled to Fort Worth for a conference with my co workers. We arrived in town in the late afternoon and wanted a quick bite to eat. I saw Salsa Limon on my map and made an executive decision to head over there. It was a short walk from the hotel. The service was great. The food arrived quickly. It was inexpensive as well. I purchased a salad and it was delicious. I also ordered a flor de jamaica. It was all delicious. I also loved that they played Salsa while I was there. They also served alcohol! I had a michelada and a spicy margarita. It was delicious and inexpensive. I love that its a family owned business and they have several locations.

I got a torta de pastor and agua de Jamaica the food was really good. The agua fresca tasted fresh and wasn’t overly sweet.

Google
This should be a five star review. The atmosphere is fantastic thanks to ample indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is efficient and thorough. You'll enjoy the bar or patio as an alternate to a standard table. The food us good, but they insist on the tacos having raw cabbage. It's a weird crunchy addition that doesn't compliment the taco at all and actually takes away from the flavor. They even pile it pretty high meaning you'll mostly taste cabbage on your taco. It's weird and should be removed from the ingredients - saving them money and you a bad additive. Otherwise this is a five star place!

Google
Regardless of the location I visit, the experience is exceptional. The quality of the food is consistently top-notch, and the staff is always welcoming and attentive. Clearly they prioritize customer satisfaction & want to maintain high standards across the board. While parking can occasionally be a bit challenging at certain locations, this minor inconvenience is far outweighed by the overall excellent food and service.

Spicy authentic cuisine… great place to gather and celebrate downtown.

Google
The tacos are great but they take sooo long. I've been waiting 20 minutes for 6 tacos and it's not busy at all. About 20% occupied

Yelp
I would like to start out by saying that I wish I could give this place a 5 star rating. Great looking spot, appearance and staff. I had the El Campeon, and my better half had the quesadilla, which I finished for her (that's just the kind of nice dude I am). Now, you ask, why not a 5. It was the aroma of the place. Had a "Fabuloso mop wash that had been used one too many times vibe). I applaud cleanliness, and by all appearances it was. However, the detraction from the otherwise favorable experience, by this aroma tempered an otherwise amazing experience.. Not cheap, but the El Campeon was a scintillating experience for the taste buds. I will return.. Hope mgt sees my post, as I am sure others had same experience.

Lyndsey T.

Yelp
Service is always top notch here! I love the happy hour specials and the breakfast tacos anytime of day!

Raynaldo O.

Yelp
They had decent quesadillas. It's a cute little Mexican spot with burritos, tacos, and my weakness quesadillas. They have happy hour where buy a drink get free chips and salsa from 2-6 MF. Your welcome. They also offer plenty of meat options your entree choice.

Bianca T.

Yelp
I had the el campeon. Don't get me wrong - it was good, but something super special. The egg was cut in half so the yolk was running everywhere. I had to use so many napkins because of it. Aside from that, I loved the diversity of ingredients in there plus the sauces were really good. The jalapeño and mango habanero sauces were my favorite as they had great flavor and spices. The person who took my order didn't really seem like she wanted to be there so had no emotions when I spoke with her. I'm sure she's kind, but wasn't the most welcoming experience whereas the gentleman who was helping out the person in front of me seemed more joyful. The place is pretty cool. There's a few beams from the ceiling to the floor at the front so placing of the tables was interesting. Not the most authentic of Mexican spots but the way they prepared was healthier than the usual, and that's what we were looking for, so didn't mind it!

Yelp
TL; DR: Tacos are a hit and great the triple dip appetizer This place is great for tacos and queso. I would suggest grabbing someone and sharing all the different tacos. The burrito was good and very filling! I would go back for sure

Mils S.

Yelp
Got the salad with carne asada. It was good. The prices here are VERY reasonable, cheapest in downtown other than Subway. My Salad was $10 50. You can order online for pick up or eat in. You order at the counter, they give you a number stand and they bring it out to you. They also have beer, wine and other drinks. Not sure about parking because I walked from the hotel, I guess parking is on the street at a meter.

Allen C.

Yelp
Typical Mexican tacos and burritos. Got the pastor tacos and it wasn't bad. The expected taste was there and the standard rice and beans. Not a bad deal here if you're in a pinch for cash and time.

Mary M.

Yelp
I've eaten here around 6 times since I moved into The Tower in downtown Fort Worth in August 2024. The food is tasty and the location is certainly convenient--downstairs. My only gripe is that there's not any consistency in the meat portions of the molca bowls. I wish they would measure the meat in order to be sure that portions are consistent and of a sufficient size. Sometimes I feel like I just got 6 tiny pieces of meat and 1/2 cup each of rice and beans. Also, the chips that come with the molca bowls have the same issue. This reminds me of the same issue Chipotle has--feeling that one is not getting the value they paid for. The bowls are $11.37 with tax.

Shaquille J.

Yelp
I wasn't too impressed with this place, to be honest. I was looking forward to trying it because the pictures looked good, but I don't think I would go back. The food tasted good, but the portion was small, the service was, ehh, and the vibe was like that of a fast food place. I feel like I was in a McDonald's that served Hispanic food. Don't think I'll be coming back.

Eddie E.

Yelp
Such a great Mexican restaurant and very affordable. I had the El Capitian Barbacoa burrito, chips and salsa. Everything by was great and the salsa was on point. This was a WIN for me! Oh yea, The fountain lime aid is great too.

Ricardo G.

Yelp
A great spot if you live in the area. Food was delicious, great drink options, clean and plenty of seating. The food came out pretty quick as well. I ordered a burrito and barboa tacos (barbacoa and birria). Both were really good. Chips and queso was okay, the chips would not be my go to.

Michael B.

Yelp
I got stuck waiting for something in DTFW and hunger set in. I walked a block from my office and found Salsa Limon. This was late afternoon so I did not want to wreck my dinner; just needed a light snack to tie me over. I ordered a breakfast taco with egg, potato, cheese, and bacon (it was called the Favarito). It was yummy!!! Perfectly cooked egg, white melty cheese, perfectly cooked bacon strip- I just added some pepper and it was bomb!! I am planning on visiting there again soon to try out the other options.

Yelp
I was at the Art Goggle event in Fort Worth and i saw this place in Magnolia. I saw people in line and was worried about a wait but then I saw that you could seat yourself and order from the QR codes on the table. Loved that. So I sat and I ordered and I don't think I waited long. I ordered a limeade and a chicken quesadilla. That limeade was the truth and is the reason I will be returning. The chicken quesadilla was good but it had too much cheese. I'll probably get extra chicken next time to balance it out. The rice and beans were good as well.

Yelp
I was in town for work and wanted to grab dinner that was close to my hotel. So I decided to try this one out. I was pleasantly surprised. El Capitan Pastor taco was super good. Everything was fresh and delicious! Also a nice happy hour as well. $3.50 for Negro Modelo and when you buy a drink you get free chips and salsa. Quick service and we received our food and drinks quickly too. We liked it so much we came back again last night!

Cynthia Z.

Yelp
The tacos were amazingly delicious. Came here a couple of times after work for dinner and I enjoyed it. I even delayed the tornado evacuation call just to finish these tacos. ORDERED: - chicken tacos : so good and the chicken was made to perfection. I had to order them again on my 2nd visit. - carne asada tacos : recommended by the cashier over the shredded beef and it did not disappoint. - chorizo tacos : so good. But between the 3 tacos, I would rank chicken first followed by carne asada. - chips & guacamole : both super fresh! They have 4 types of sauces, all fresh, from mild tomatillo to hot jalapeño, to hotter piquín, to the mega hot habanero sauce. I really enjoyed the jalapeño and the habanero on my tacos and chips, although not needed because they taste great even without it. The ambiance is super spacious with lots of seating. They even have a bar. Will be back again to try their quesadilla and burrito. P.S.: the pictures do not do justice.

Miles S.

Yelp
Gotta stop by and stay eatin here bruh! Their breakfast burrito is big enough for all meals of the day, drinks are fresh and pricing is reasonable. Definitely service fast as hell too! Gotta stop by and stay eatin!

Darris J.

Yelp
The staff was nice and went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of. I found my order of barbacoa tacos to be ah-ite. Nothing great, I'd skip the margaritas next. They lean in hard in the hfcs premixes and it's not a great drink. They do have the capability to make a fresh squeezed drink but it appears they only use the juicer for breakfast and brunch

A.j. P.

Yelp
Salsa Limon is a hidden gem!! I enjoy when a taco spot doesn't bland down the food for the locals. Salsa Limon is keeping it real. I didn't go full-board because the prices were a little steep. When a spot is charging for chips and salsa, you kinda want to tread lightly. I had the Barbacoa and Carne Asada. I'm gonna be knit-picky and say the Asada did lack some flavor, but the Barbacoa was full a flavor. Also, the pickled cabbage on the taco takes away from the taste of the tacos. The chips and salsa were tasty. The service was spot order at the counter and they call number. I didn't have time to try the drinks and it does look they have a nice bar set-up. This place is worth your time and effort. ***Flight Attendant approved***

Yelp
Unexpectedly this was our favorite meal in all of Texas. Amazing tacos, the El Capitan was great as well but the star of the show was definitely the queso. We like the asada more than the pastor which is rare, but honestly, we're very impressed with everything we had. Prices weren't cheap but the serving size was pretty large so definitely worth it. The building is also pretty cool and really close to Sundance square. Definitely stop by if this place is even remotely close to you. Looks like there are several locations as well. Happy hour is Monday through Friday 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Melanie R.

Yelp
Delicious Torta - I ordered the Torta with Barbacoa - it was delicious. Prices are reasonable, staff friendly and attentive to details, atmosphere comfortable and familiar. I would claim this as original Mexican food as opposed to Tex-Mex. I was happy with my choice and the Torta was delicious.

Milhen E.

Yelp
Overrated. Came for lunch on a Wednesday. Not a lot of people which is nice. Food is just ok. I asked for their suggestion on their best dish. So I ordered just that. I would hate to taste their worst. My husband ordered a bowl, which came with sliced avocados. Those were so bruised and when I asked to replace them for a fresh ones I was told they all look like that. I understand the concept but it gives a bad name to those who provide solutions, not excuses.

Idris A.

Yelp
Great lunch restaurant with good tacos that are quickly made and just like you like them. Very nice flavors and this could be great for happy hour as well. If you're in downtown Fort Worth and want a quick bite, this is great for that and just to hang out. Great ambiance.

Kadoria I.

Yelp
Salsa Limon offers your traditional Mexican food fare of burritos and tacos, made to order with the protein of your choice. What sets them apart is the freshness of the food and ingredients, the salsa or sauce choices with the varying degrees of spice and kick, and the drinks. Kudos to Emmanuel the Bartender, who approached me and asked me what kind of margarita I like and proceeded to make me a divine custom margarita, mango with spice (think fresh jalapeños), for the price of $5. That kind of service and deliciousness folks is what will make me keep going back.

Eunice H.

Yelp
We stopped by here for dinner on a weekend night on our way to Sundance square. I had pretty low expectations as I'm not a huge Tex Mex fan (please don't come for me) but really was pleasantly surprised by the food here. You order at the counter and they give you a number for your table, self service style. Of note, we had some trouble talking to the staff as we didn't know Spanish and their English wasn't very clear. Regardless, the food was excellent! We got a breakfast burrito and flour tacos - the oxaca cheese combined with all the other meats, beans, etc was so flavorful. Another big plus was the selection of fresh salsas - there were 4 when we were there. There is plenty of seating inside (including booths) and some outdoor seating as well. There were high chairs and booster seats available too. Would highly recommend for some good food within a few minutes walking distance to Sundance square!

Maria B.

Yelp
I was visiting the Fort Worth area for work and i found this restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised with my entire experience. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was very good. I had breakfast and dinner and both meals were great. I ordered the captain burrito minus the beans and eggs and I added lettuce and tomatoes. The meat was flavorful and tender on both dishes and the breakfast burrito was phenomenal, very generous amount of eggs and cheese. I only wish they offered chips with the burritos!! They offer many sauces and also beverages. They also have a happy hour from 4-6pm The ladies at the register and packing meals were so attentive and friendly. I will revisit them in the future!

Gerg P.

Yelp
Flavorful meats Attentive service Quality meals Cheerful employees Awesome selection of salsas with no limit Reasonable pricing

Evie J.

Yelp
coming from new york I didn't know what place to go to for good mexican food, but look no further. tacos were incredible, corn tortillas were the best i've had. shining star was the jalapeño salsa. service was great as well.

Emily M.

Yelp
I've been to the downtown Dallas location a few times, and have never been disappointed! So I brought my boyfriend to this location for a quick dinner and now we are both fans! We each got a molca bowl to go - his with al pastor and mine was vegetarian (black beans + avocado). However, either I misunderstood the menu or there was a mistake in the kitchen because there was no rice with my bowl. It was a bummer, but considering it could've been my mistake, no biggie. It was still delicious regardless! The jamaica and limeade are delicious, too. My favorite jamaica I've had - this is not the ready-made stuff at most taquerias! We will definitely be back.

Stacy L.

Yelp
The food and drinks were amazing. Super authentic food and the drinks were made strong. The restaurant reminded me of eating at a market. I would check them out again next time I am in Ft Worth

Erin M.

Yelp
I visited this establishment while attending a lecture in DFW. I really really enjoyed the burrito, salsa, and chips. It was a very large portion, and was filling! Super yummy. Will come back when I visit again.

Tish E.

Yelp
Delicious and authentic tacos, salads, and best of all Molca bowl...so good! I've watched this place grow for many years. Used to eat lunch here since office was downtown. The green sauce is where it's at. They serve simple and authentic Mexican food with cabbage, not lettuce. Their salsas bring flavor and heat! Cool it down with a Jamaica juice, horchata, or now...full bar service. So good, I'm hungry now.

Collin W.

Yelp
(I'm not counting the covid years. Everyone suffered.) It hurts me to leave a bad review. I absolutely love this place, but! Over the last few years it seems like Salsa Limon is just mailing it in. The service has gone down noticeably. My orders are incomplete, missing items, or just outright wrong. It seems like no one in the staff knows how to make cocktails. I had the worst margarita in my life. Management needs to bring back the reasons people feel in love with the place!

Ankita S.

Yelp
I was visiting Fort Worth for a conference for 2 days. I went there for lunch. The food was so good that I had to revisit the next day again! It's a self service Mexican Restuarant with some vegetarian options. I ordered a veggie taco, molca bowl, quesadillas, some guacamole and chips. They were all really good. They have a variety of sauces which are all so good! Everything was made fresh! The restuarant is spacious with a lot of seating. The portion size is good. Overall a great experience. I'll definitely go back!

MIlton S.

Yelp
One asada taco and one chorizo taco Jarritos Mandarin soda Mild salsa Hip Hispanic music Or can I even say Hispanic Should I say hip "it" music Sorry I said taco too It was meat in a flour wrap Or can I say meat Ask SBF? Butt can I reach him? Can I call him him? Who knows? Or maybe I'll call Britney Griner, the hater of the United States. Whatever! Good food! Can I say food? Hope I didn't offend anyone, not!

Kenitra N.

Yelp
We tried this place on a whim. Had never tried it before, but wanted something quick while we were out near Sundance square. Got the El Capitan and premium pollo tacos. Pretty good! It was quiet without too much hustle and bustle. The service was nice and quick. The food tasted fresh and well seasoned. All around good quality in my opinion.

Maggie E.

Yelp
My fiancé stumbled upon this joint during a wedding weekend in Fort Worth, and he found it so delicious that he had to bring me back to try it myself the next morning. I am so glad he did - it did not miss!!! We both ordered carne breakfast burritos and scarfed them down after dousing them in their house-made tomatillo and habanero salsas. We also witnessed another patron order a full to-go cup of their jalapeño salsa - an iconic move. High quality ingredients, friendly staff, situated in a bright and authentic space. Would absolutely recommend!

David H.

Yelp
This restaurant is in a great location in downtown Fort Worth! We were in town for a conference at the Forth Worth Convention Center and it was a short walk away. The food was amazing! My wife and I both got tacos and guacamole and loved them both. The best asada I've had! Would most certainly recommend this place.

Karla B.

Yelp
Great food & drinks! Fast & friendly service. Must try everything on menu. We've been back every chance we get.

Emma B.

Yelp
We were in Sundance Sq and wanted somewhere for tex-mex reasonably priced and this place popped up, walkable from Sundance Sq. They do your typical tacos, burritos, quesadillas etc... Half of our group got the El Campeon burrito which looked really good, but it had egg it for some reason which I didn't see on the description and I took a bite and didn't like it with the egg in. I had some tacos, which were alright, nothing to rave about. They had four different salsas, which went up in the heat, the hottest was waay too hot to be able to eat your food - didn't care for their salsas either. The margarita however was very good and enjoyable. Menu was kind of all over the place and confusing, and atmosphere of the place was a little off, with the seating, industrial feel.

Bri P.

Yelp
If you're looking for good, authentic Mexican food and a nice marg before you hit the bars in FW, this place is it! The music playing made me want to get up and dance. It was maybe a 5 minute wait only for food on a Saturday night. In my opinion the food was a tad pricier than it should be given the portion size. The chips though are only $3 and unlimited! They are awesome corn tortilla chips. Recommend going here for a quick bite to eat if you're ready to pay a little bit more for good food.

Drew D.

Yelp
The food here and service were excellent. I had the veggie burrito and honestly it was one of the most flavorful burritos I have ever had. The atmosphere was chill and relaxed. Great ambiance!

Larry A.

Yelp
We came in from out of town - wasn't our first choice but another location wasn't able to honor or reservation. Our whole party was pleasantly surprised with the experience. The food was great, we mostly stuck to the breakfast burritos and breakfast tacos. You order at the counter and the service was pleasant. The menu was a little hard to understand but then we found the printed menus, that helped. Don't forget about the salsa in the little refrigerator up front - it was good!

Howard L.

Yelp
I'd pass on the breakfast tacos cause they're pretty basic- eggs and meat in a flour tortilla. So yes for sure tasty, but nothing that is gonna knock your socks off. The al pastor tacos here carries the 4-star rating from me. Nicely seasoned with great flavor, and the slaw adds a pleasant fresh crunch. Their tomatillo sauce is also tasty and not overly spicy. Sometimes the meat comes out a tiny bit dry, but that's easily overshadowed by the taste and sauce. The horchata here is also good, but probably a bit more sweet than others I've tasted elsewhere. I bet the workers add an above average amount of sugar than a typical horchata.

Michael L.

Yelp
I went here with my friend and the experience was so so overall. First, the location is in the right spot at downtown area. Ordered tacos al pastor but the order was messed up. Received pastor and carne, I think. And ordered cervezas but that was wrong too. So, attention to service is not good- at least, when I went there. The tacos themselves were okay. They are not made traditional with cilantro and onions only because they add cabbage. Probably the best part was the selection of salsa and which I had to ask where they were. Too bad, the poor service probably won't have me going back again.

Rhonda V.

Yelp
This is a great place for lunch. I tried the street tacos and they were delicious. Also had the chips & queso and it was just a little too salty for my taste. The waitstaff were nice and friendly and the music was enjoyable and made me want to dance. Will be back!

Michelle J.

Yelp
Food was great per usual but the bartender was a complete a hole. Asked him how the new spicy margarita was and he looked at me completely annoyed and said "what do you mean I mean it's a spicy margarita" with complete attitude and a rude face like I put him out asking that. Then the guy beside me looked at me like daaang and he goes yeah I been standing here and he just ignored me. And I said well I think I don't want to order anything now and he said me too and we both walked away from the bar.

Chris S.

Yelp
Fast service. Snuck in here an hour before closing on a Saturday night. Had the El Campeon - probably a top five burrito I've ever eaten. The sauces/salsas were great. The habanero was very tasty and not too hot. The chips were fresh and very crispy. The guac was pretty decent. Highly recommend.

Peggy K.

Yelp
Food was good. But We each ordered exactly the same thing. So why did my boss get an extra quart of grease with his???
