Salsa’s Family Market

Having this shop in the neighborhood is a godsend. I can walk three minutes and get whatever groceries I need. It doesn't have a broad variety but it always has the essentials and ingredients I sometimes forget to buy. They also do great taco events and their tamales are the best around. Everyone who works there is so nice and helpful, it's nice being able to see a familiar face at the grocery.

Great place! Prices are fair and the owners are super friendly. You can see in the picture the variety of things they have. Meats, chicken, salmon, veggies, cleaning supplies, and the owner will start selling coffee and sandwiches to go soon! Go and support this amazing local grocery store!

My favorite small market in Chicago. I truly don't know how they have so many quality in house products. Love the sandwiches, tamales on weekends, homemade salsas and the marinaded meats ready to bring home and cook for fajitas or tacos are really convenient. Plus they have a great selection of groceries for such a small shop. Highly recommend, the staff are very welcoming, and I wish them all every success.

A great little corner store. They have a good selection of both necessities and specialty items, and high quality produce. Their pozole and tamales are also delicious!

Come for the amazing homemade products, stay for the friendly staff. Their Olipop 2/5 is cheaper than some big box stores. Their tamales on F/S are delicious, the guacamole and salsas are *chef’s kiss*, and I love their cafe drink menu (horchata latte hot or cold). You must visit.

Love this neighborhood market. I have been getting the fresh made guacamole and pastries. The store is filled with great produce and homemade items. I am so glad to have them on the street I work on. I highly recommend grabbing some great finds in this family owned market.

They make really great guac and salsa (and other things like dips and tamales I haven't tried yet!) and have a lot of local goods. Love this place.

They have amazing selection here, fair prices, lovely atmosphere too! My favorite food I've tried are their tamales, chilaquiles, and any of their lattes, but my favorite is the cardamom rose latte!

disappointing and rude customer service. I used my EBT card and was told I still have to pay for a bag, but they wouldn't take my dollar and I was given a grocery produce bag. bags are only seven cents yet I was told it's $.10. bags are covered by EBT but she still refused. Very poor customer service you all should get up-to-date with the terms of EBT usage because that's so easy to know yet you guys decide to not care.

Say yes to the quacamole, and the tomatillo, and the arbol, and the jalapeno, and everything else. Just go to the cooler and grab one of each. They're all amazing!

I have fallen in love. I take walks along Damen going to the nearby park and I've seen a sign showcasing the items that Salsa's has for sale (sandwiches, hot and cold drinks). I finally decided to stop in for a Chai latte. While there I saw it's not just a cafe but also a little grocery store. It's filled to the brim with all the necessities. The shining star though are the freshly baked pastries and bread made in house. Omg I am addicted! So flaky, buttery and delicious. I went back and grabbed a few grocery items but they got me hooked with their danishes. It's places like these that should be kept in our neighborhoods. Please go support this small business!

I learned about this small neighborhood market in Block Club Chicago and then it was promoted to me via Yelp, so I've been wanting to visit for weeks. Tonight was just the right night; we were having picadillo, and several of the reviews mention their fantastic salsa and guacamole. (Spoiler alert: They were right, it's great.) The article I read said the owners met as kids working in a store, I believe, and I love that so much. When I entered the woman who greeted me was really nice and said to let her know if I was looking for anything in particular. It is very, very small inside, but they have a deli counter at the back with a few things. The aisles are so narrow you can hardly fit two people (and in a couple of them, having one feels like overcrowding) so navigability can be tricky. But I found what I wanted, and a few other things to boot, so all in all it was successful. They have some vegetables (which was great because I needed lettuce but was going to forget it because I didn't want to go to Mariano's), some dairy items, pantry stores and pasta, and so on. They had sopes, which I was telling a friend I wanted to make and she'd told me that ready-made sopes were a thing; now I just I just need to find a recipe for what to put in them! The guacamole was good but I liked the tomatillo salsa even better. It's flavorful, a little sweet, and heats up nicely the more you eat. This will probably be my favorite. The woman (perhaps the owner?) told me that she had one sweet corn tamal left and I decided to give it a taste, and it was really good! But I need them to update a webpage or Instagram or something so I can make sure to be their early when they have chicken and/or cheese tamales!! They also have sweet treats--the right side as you enter is coffee and pastries so there's another place for the coffee drinkers in the neighborhood to get their fix. Glad to welcome this place to the neighborhood and I hope it has a very bright future ahead.

Salsa Family market is a neighborhood gem! Wonderful produce, great soups, great vegetarian options. We've catered in their tamales for a holiday party and they were a hit.

The perfect addition to the neighborhood and so so convenient. When I realize I forgot some small ingredient, I know I can rely on Salsa's to have what I need. When I first started going, I would always say I keep finding new things in the store. Their in-house guac and salsa selection is amazing. Any time I have people visiting, I immediately say that we have to make a stop there.

The guacamole is good and I go back for it. It's a cute little store with good things to snack on that has some Mexican essential items like sopas de fideo and avocados. I recommend stopping by. They also sell some food like chilaquiles and tamales that I want to try. They open bright and early and everyone's nice. I hope it stays open a loooong time

We love Salsas Market! Salsa's is a gem -- from the pumpkins or melons that sit outside to the friendly people who work there to the absolutely amazing food. We're partial to the chicken fajitas, tacquaria salsa and homemade crema. We've discovered new, local brands for tortillas and tortilla chips. Salsa's tres leches cake is incredible. And any random items you need? Salsa's has milk, candy and soap too. We are so lucky to have Salsa's in our neighborhood -- stop in and make your day better.

Picked up cactus beef chili for lunch on the way into the office and it reminds me how fortunate we are to have this wonderful market in the neighborhood. Fresh baked goods, juices, produce, deli and prepared meals, sandwiches and coffee daily. The chili is slightly sweet, packed with beef veggies and beans-fantastic! I pickup fresh salsa a couple times a week because no one does it better. Must try their chilaquiles chips, the perfectly thin and crisp chips you always hope a restaurant is going to have. Love that they also carry of variety and plethora of healthy options from kombucha to low carb egg wraps and the siete grain free food line. Must try/must see! Thank you Salsa family for all you do!

Everything here is good, but the most unexpected great thing is the beer cheese dip they sell in the fridge next to the guac

This place is the best. They have a great selection of everything you need from produce to homemade dips and salsas to a full deli to prepare to-go sandwiches. I love walking the aisles to see what new items they have each week. Most of all I love to see a store run by a nice family who has pride in their work. It's been such a nice addition to the neighborhood. Also, this is the best crema I've ever had.

Bought a guacamole and a salsa and got their birria ramen. Everything was amazing. Could not stop eating any of it! Mouth on fire in the best way! The birria was so tender we were talking about hours after we were done. Can't wait for more hot food friday/Saturday's. And happily they will be open on Super Bowl Sunday cause what's a Super Bowl without guacamole?!!

Stopped by yesterday to check out the new market in the neighborhood. I came home with two of their homemade salsas and a bag of chips. The owner was super friendly and walked us through each type and the spice level. The salsas are fantastic and I'll be back to try some of the others.

An absolutely terrific addition to the neighborhood that, for a lot of us, was hit hard by Over Easy's departure. Their salsas, soups, and homemade creations are terrific. The good food is a great draw, but the family who runs the place are extremely likable, customer and community oriented people. This is a great place - check it out.

Absolutely the best. They carry everything you need for a weeknight meal (fresh and frozen veggies, pantry staples, dairy), PLUS all of their homemade stuff is incredible -- my favorites are the jalapeño salsa, the salsa macha, the beer cheese dip, and the poblano soup. Sandwiches and coffee are delicious too. All the prices here are super reasonable. Go here!!

Great local shop. It has all the essentials you need and so many treats. The salsa is really good and today I tried one of the homemade sandwiches and it was delicious! Everyone there is so friendly and I love stopping in.

Love their homemade salsas - in particular the chipotle one. Great flavor and just enough heat. Do not skip picking up a bag or two of the Tortilleria Chiquihuite tortilla chips - they are so good and locally made down in the south suburbs! My husband has tried the pork pozole and the birria ramen specials and has enjoyed both. Overall a great little shop and I am happy to have them in the area!

BEST local grocer I've ever been to in Chicago. I've lived here my entire life & I can wholeheartedly say they are the kindest, most compassionate people & also provide the best, friendliest service. They have a surprising large selection of vegan + organic groceries & snacks, & also a great selection of Mexican snacks & foods. And fresh SANDWICHES, on warm FRESH bread, & hand-sliced toppings?! For $5.99?! What more can I ask for?! They also have tasty espresso from local Chicago coffee roasters, & bottles of fresh horchata and hibiscus juice. (on top of that, they make a variety of fresh salsas, & tasty soups!) If you're in the Ravenswood area & in need of a tasty snack, sandwich, or espresso, give this small family owned business a try!

This place is LEGIT. They have an awesome variety of food and their guac is good. The family that runs it is so nice and they just go out of their way to help you. I love the tortillas, the cheese options, and the produce quality is good. It's not the cheapest but let's be real neither is Jewel or Mariano's and I'd way rather support a local spot. So glad to have this in the neighborhood.

A fantastic grocery store that's dedicated to serving their community. I cannot get enough of their homemade horchata, and everyone who works there is amazingly kind. The selection is fantastic for when you need those last couple ingredients on the way home from work, and all their homemade products are made with care and taste amazing. Give them a visit whenever you're around Ravenswood, I guarantee you'll find something tasty!

We just moved into the neighborhood and were thrilled to find Salsa's Family Market. They are so friendly and nice. I had some questions and they were very helpful. Their sandwiches are delicious and you can't find a better selection of Mexican products anywhere on the north side. I highly recommend that you stop by.

Very nice market, very nice owners. They have a good selection, great homemade guacamole and salsas, and make a good latte too. I haven't tried the chilaquiles but they look good. Highly recommend shopping at this locally owned business!

I love this place! I have gone about 5 times now and this is such a great place for grocery shopping and a quick coffee. I have tried some of their homemade food and coffee, and everything so far is great! Everyone who works there is so friendly as well. For such a tiny place they have a variety of nice stuff. I would probably go here for most of my groceries from now on.

It's so wonderful to have Salsa's in the neighborhood! The people there are amazing, and the food is wonderful. I love being able to grab things like well prepared chicken fajitas for a weeknight dinner - am also partial to their sandwiches, coffee and pico de gallo. They're such a great addition to the neighborhood!

This is the best grocery store to have opened in our neighborhood! The owners are the nicest, kindest, people. Not only is this a grocery mart, you can buy fresh meat, fresh produce, bulk items, along with their top notch homemade items such as sandwiches, salsas, and soups, at very affordable prices. Plus, they have a coffee cafe.

The chipotle salsa is incredible and everything from here is so fresh. The owner is the one that checks you out and is extremely nice and gives great recommendations. Would recommend to everyone!!

i don't feel hesitant at all when i say that salsas market is amazing in providing meals and products for the community. during the time that i went to a high school some blocks from the market, i got to see how they opened and were a new business in the area, and i got to interact and make conversation with the owners there, who are so friendly,kind and outgoing. especially if you live in surrounding neighborhoods or in the ravenswood community go support salsas market! if you're ever in need of a meal and don't have time to make your own, they sell coffees and tortas and other foods too!
