Where to Enjoy a Glass of Chardonnay This Summer in the Tampa Area | Eater

"Nothing embodies the laid-back summer vibe of Florida quite like the Salt Shack, where it feels like a trip to the Keys every time you walk in. Hidden at the end of a marine industrial area in the shadow of the Gandy Bridge, the Salt Shack beckons you with its funky wood structure and breezy outdoor spaces. It’s a favorite for after-work drinks, sunset cocktails, and all-day weekend celebrations, where cool chardonnay and frozen drinks flow freely. The fresh seafood is also a must, whether you get your catch of the day grilled, pan-seared, or fried whole." - Matthew Meltzer

Tampa Bay Bars and Restaurants Serving Astral Tequila | Eater

"The end of Rattlesnake Point isn’t exactly the first place in Tampa Bay you’d expect to find a spot that’s regularly on “best of” lists. That element of the unexpected is part of what makes Salt Shack such a find, where you’ll happen upon this funky, waterside outdoor bar at the end of an industrial area. It’s like you stepped out into the Caribbean as soon as you walk inside, as tropical drinks and smoked mahi dip fill the tables and yacht rock fills the air. It’s an ideal place to catch the sunset, which needs nothing more than a house margarita made with Astral Tequila to set the mood." - Matthew Meltzer

If you are looking for a laid back relaxed atmosphere, that can double as a fun girls night out, date night on the water, family dinner spot this is your place. When we arrived the parking lot was packed, so we anticipated a long wait. We were quoted a 15 minute wait and at the 15 minute mark we were called for our table. Food was great…calamari appetizer was perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. Our entrees included the triple tail fish pan seared on a bed a rice and black beans with a coconut rum sauce 10/10, fried fish sandwich with fries, sandwich was huge and flavorful 10/10. My daughters ordered the fish basket 10/10 and pulled pork tacos 8/10. For dessert my husband ordered the key lime pie 10/10! Cocktails were awesome too. All of this was complimented by the beautiful sunset over the bay. Highly recommended.

Google
This cozy spot completely won me over—not just because of the food, but also for its pleasant atmosphere and beautiful view. The dishes, especially the seafood specialties, were absolutely delicious, and the tacos were out of this world! We paired our meal with some amazing cocktails, which were generously served—no holding back there. The service was fantastic. Our waiter was kind and funny, making us feel right at home. The music added to the relaxing vibe, and the ocean view made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Definitely a place I’d love to return to!

Google
Came with a girlfriend July 7th cause she raved to me about this place. The views are stunning! The food itself was good, not great, but I would definitely come back just for the views. Service was also slow but they were pretty busy. My friend and I started off with the Shack Wings, with both sauces that were offered on the side (Pepper BBQ & Jerk). The pepper BBQ was delicious! We both ordered tacos, I ordered 3 shrimp tacos and my friend ordered 3 chicken tacos. My friend got all 3 tacos she had ordered but unfortunately mine only came out with 2. I didn't say anything just because the food took a while to hit the table (they were very busy). I will say, I've had better shrimp tacos, but these weren't bad. But, I'll definitely be trying something else next time. It was all good though cause we were drinking and having a great time! Once we were ready for dessert, per our servers recommendation, we got the key lime pie. It was pretty darn good. I give 5 stars for the beautiful view and ambience & 4 stars for food.

The food was fresh and absolutely delicious😋, the drinks were super refreshing, and the service was excellent👌🏻I loved the rustic coastal decor⚓️🌀🌴🐚 it really adds to the charm of the place. The atmosphere by the water is unbeatable, and the sunsets are extraordinary, with beautiful views of the bay and the Tampa bridge🌤️It’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the best of Tampa Bay. 🛥️🌉🥂🍾

Google
Great atmosphere and service. Restaurant is right on the bay as indicated by its name. Great views with beach vibes. Because of its outdoor nature would recommend dressing light since Florida can get hot. Food was great, for appetizers we got the oysters and the calamari, both of which tasted great. For my entree I got the chimichurri steak. Great flavor though it was a little tough to cut through at times. Party also got the catch of the day (swordfish) which was seasoned well

Google
We had a wonderful dining experience here to celebrate Mother’s Day with the family. The food we ordered was superb, and we enjoyed a couple of beers and margaritas. Everyone left with full bellies and a happy mood. The location was fantastic, allowing us to enjoy views of the bay. I hope to visit this place at night to see the lights from the highway and the city buildings.

Google
We had friends that called and said we want to take you to our favorite place. We tagged along and WOW!!! What a relaxing place. You feel like you’re on a small island with relaxing live music playing. The over all atmosphere and the food was great. We definitely will be back and a place I told my wife, we need to bring your parents here. I highly recommend it. I see now why it’s our friends favorite place.

Google
read a lot of reviews saw that they had really good ratings so wanted to give it a shot. We were there right when they opened and it quickly filled up in the dining room and at the bars. Josh was our server and did a great job with recommending dishes and had a very easy going/ good vibe style of service. Would highly recommend this place to anybody and would definitely be back in the future.

Yelp
Fabulous loved everything about it - sad it's not closer to me A hidden gem - drinks great good ok Ambience brilliant

Yelp
I love coming to the Salt Shack for the views and atmosphere. I always enjoy myself. However, being a vegetarian is immensely difficult eating here. I'd love to come and enjoy the food with my friends but I can only eat a salad. I hope they expand their options on the menu.

Claudia H.

Yelp
Immediately added to my favorites. Although the wait was long as there were a lot of people, it was worth it when we sat down next to the water and watched the sunset with good food and drinks. You have the option to sit inside or outside, with a great ambiance at night. Servers are all very nice, too.

Yelp
I forgot to take a photo of the burger and wings this time. I did snap a shot of the mojito, and you know what beer looks like. Same company: Mike B. Poker friend and now a good friend. Always fun hanging out with a few beers (and a mojito). On this trip, great service from Emily, Ava, and Mortimer (don't remember dude's name behind bar so took an educated guess). Btw, my pen name is Tyler and everyone calls me that. This is the only social media with my legal name. Anyway, the burger was solid, the fries were good, the wings were better than expected, the mojito wasn't as strong as last time but enjoyable, and the beer was filled to the brim every time. I always get to this place and plan to stay quiet. But the atmosphere and the outdoor bar lead to me having a mojito and beer after beer. Then I don't shut up, but I'm having a good time. On that note, and in real time, I'm currently sitting at BestBet St. Augustine waiting for a poker tournament and drinking a Red Bull and this woman won't shut tf up talking across the bar! And an annoying-pitched voice. Hmmm.... But she's talking about s**t nobody cares about: her nephew went to the draft, she went to Wisconsin, she used a hair curler last Tuesday. When drinking, I at least a talk about Philanthropic Phlebotomists and the meaning of life for a squirrel. Back to Salt Shack. Overall, recommended. Side Note: There is construction here rn in parking lot, but it shouldn't impact your experience.

Yelp
Fantastic atmosphere, mediocre food. This review is for future Christina. I ordered the avocado and shrimp salad and was not a fan at all. The iceberg lettuce and not a lot of toppings made it a sad salad. Next time I should get something else. I got the dirty banana for a drink and that was delicious. I absolutely would get that again. The kids split a chicken tenders kids meal (they do have a kids menu even though it's not online, the waitress just tells you, there's no written kids menu). The chicken tenders were very good. My other son loved my husband's chimichuri steak. I thought it was overcooked, but I'd get it again since my son loved it so much. I did like the yucca fries and the plantains it came with though. This place is right on the water. I didn't see any indoor seating but all the seating is covered. Next time I rather not sit at the picnic tables right on the water because there's no fans there. There's ample seating though in the covered areas with fans so I'll opt to sit there.

Yelp
Very beautiful outdoor dining spot with a huge bar. Came here on. Friday night and it was super packed! Be prepared to have a bit of a wait. Theres a huge bar to get a drink while waiting and plenty of seating. They have a great menu. I got the Dirty Banana - frozen banana with rum. For dinner I got the catch of the day with rice and plantains. Super delicious white fish, sweet plantains, and well seasoned rice. For appetizer, got the fresh shrimp ceviche, a staple here. Wish I lived in the area to keep on coming back.

Yelp
Really cool place with a great view of the Bay Area. Mostly outside but covered and lots of bar space. If you are looking for a nice place for some drinks and relax this is a good place for it. Service here is always great just be mindful is a larger place and tends to get busy and stays busy so be patient with the service. But they do move and come around often. As for the food! They have a wide range of standard food with their own twist on them. Everything I've had here has been rather good both is taste and quality. This time around I got the chicken tacos with the jerk sauce. Adds a little heat to it. Great flavor and extra hot sauce at the table if you want an extra bit to it. Also had a side of plantains, they were ok I tend to like mine a little more sweeter. These aren't bad but I do think they are an acquired taste for most people. Lastly we had the alligator bites to share with the table. If you ever had it before you know it tastes like chicken but they do have a really good honey mustard sauce. But over all great taste and perfect crunch.

Yelp
Drinks here are priced so well for the location by the water. Very impressed! Plenty of parking although it may be pay? We got just the fish dip and ceviche. Ceviche was great and the chips tasted very fresh almost like a pita taste to them. The dip was ok I wouldn't order it again felt like it started to melt onto the plate as it came to our table. Margs = the best almost nervous to move nearby because we will be coming often for them! There's covered areas and outdoor right by the bay seating. Everything is outdoors and scenic!

Yelp
We did arrive early so we would not have a long wait. It was approximately 5 on a Friday and we were seated right away. Great seats too! My son, who is in the Army will be out soon and is moving back home here to Tampa. This is his favorite place. The ambiance was great (as usual) and our server was fantastic! My husband and I had the lobster bisque which was absolutely delicious!!! We all had two other appetizers and our main entrees. Sorry, no pictures of the food. The new seafood pasta I had was full of flavor and lots of seafood. Honestly they ruined me on getting lobster bisque from anywhere else now!!!!

Yelp
Finally made it over to Salt Shack to check it out. They had someone set up by the entrance taking names and phone numbers, but after waiting awhile to get a text that our table was ready, I realized that she put my phone number in wrong. When I went to ask at the host stand, they weren't very friendly and acted annoyed about having to look for my name on the list. They re-added me to the list, luckily to the top of the list, and didn't have to wait long. The drinks and food were great. Love the ambiance and it's pretty at sunset.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with excellent food and service! Very fresh seafood here! If you're visiting on the weekends be prepared to wait for a seat! Go to the bar and grab a drink while you wait and enjoy the beautiful bay of Tampa FL! Can't wait to visit again. Btw- BEST WATERSIDE DINING FOR GATOR BITES! It's a must try on the their menu. Order a strawberry mojito to pair! Absolutely delicious.

Yelp
Save yourself the drive and the wait. Other than the view of the ocean there's nothing redeemable about Salt Shack. It's a long wait for mediocre food and a mediocre view. My partner ordered tacos and decided to get 3. 2 tacos would not have filled him. But tell me why an extra taco is $9??? A single. Taco. I got the crab cakes and they were just okay. Dry. Big pass - not worth the drive and 1hr wait.

Yelp
I truly like this place and have been here a couple of times for the cool atmosphere and honestly good food and good service! However we stopped by for a lunch with our kids for their first time and though everything was on point we did have an issue with my wife's steamed/grilled shrimp. About halfway through eating it she found a couple of metal strands that must have came from a scrubber in the kitchen! As we reported it to the waiter he rolled his eyes in disgust and later stated that this was the second time that day that it had happened and they comped the shrimp. I understand that they probably have a bunch of younger team members but this kind of thing doesn't set well with me!! I'm sure they will tighten up their operation to ensure this doesn't happen again but it definitely leaves me wondering did they really clean the equipment as good as they should if the strands of metal from a cleaning sponge were left in the pan/pot? I will go back but I'm disappointed in the lack of awareness their cooks have for what they are doing and what they serve!!

Yelp
I had been wanting to try this place next time I was in town and it exceeded my expectations! Excellent service at the bar! The drinks on point! The food delicious! The views outstanding! Highly recommend I'll definitely be going back!

Yelp
I loved the vibe and the views of this place! I went here for lunch and I can say the ambiance was amazing! We were sat fairly quickly after a rough time finding the parking lot and how to get in due to construction! It's ok that happens! Our server was great with my order and the drinks however for the person I was with, well let's just say the order was wrong twice. He was nice enough to not say anything but honestly it should have been sent back for the second time. She was attentive enough without being too over bearing. I liked my ceviche and tuna tartare but the fish served to my counterpart was not cooked "soft" as requested. Flavor was ehh nothing to boast about. I enjoy this place for what it is. Light bites and beautiful atmosphere. I'd come back for atmosphere alone. I wouldn't recommend this establishment for the food itself.
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
I love this place! The spot on Rattlesnake Point is beautiful! The view of the St Pete and the water is awesome! It's outdoor casual and has a great casual vibe! All the servers are friendly. The food is delicious and I always can't wait to come back! The daily fish with the rice and veggies is so fresh and amazing! Try the gator bites! And the mojitos are on point!!

Yelp
Came to Tampa for one night. Got to catch up with a friend at Salt Shack. I ordered the shrimp peel basket with a side of fries. It was delicious. The restaurant sits on the bay and has tons on seating. Great atmosphere. The service was outstanding and attentive.

Yelp
Amazing service, drinks, food, and vibes! Salt Shack On the Bay is a great place to soak up the outdoors and enjoy a yummy bite to eat with friends. I recommend going around sunset, as it has some of the best views in Tampa! I ordered the Mahi fish tacos and I loved that they came out hot and were topped with fresh avocado and vegetables. The frozen piña coladas do not disappoint! If coconut isn't really your thing, the sangrias are also delicious. Salt Shack also has a wide selection of mocktails to enjoy.

Yelp
This place is such a great vibe, but prepare to look for parking and wait for at LEAST a hour before being seated. Once we were seated after a hour and 20 mins the food came out quick and the food was delicious. I got their island chicken taco and added their jerk sauce. My son and gf got the burger and said it was delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
I am loving the St Shack. Food - delicious Service - Great and Fast Ambiance - the view is the vibe along with the one man band singing. Definitely a place to go and chill on the weekend

Yelp
Four stars because it's * a super cool spot on the bay, * my colleagues whole red snapper * my wife's huge crab cakes. * waitress was very attentive - My meal sucked so they lose a star

Yelp
Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal! Great vibe, hot food (and came out quickly), friendly staff, great service, and right on the water! And dog friendly! Definitely recommend

Yelp
I loveee being near the water any chance I get. What a vibe of a place with wonderful views. My sister and I came here on a Friday night, around 5:30. We luckily missed the crowded rush and got a table outside right away. We both love fresh catch and enjoyed our meals. My fries were unfortunately a little cold, but somehow hers were delicious. I believe our waiter was named Michael and he was great and super attentive. We also got some skinny margaritas but forgot to take pictures as we slurped them down with ease. There was some live music and we are excited to come back with our family at another time.

Yelp
First time going coming here . Great experience wonderful view great drinks and appetizers . And the chimichurris steak was amazing . Our waitress Jaylan was fantastic very friendly and helpful . Would be asking for her station next time going to salt shack .

Yelp
What a cute gem located right on Tampa Bay! Visited 11:30 on a busy Saturday, but still had great service! The cocktails are a great price, with most being $10.50, but specifically the pina colada was delicious! I loved the toasted coconut and felt like it had the perfect coconut pineapple balance. The gator bites were fried perfectly and paired nicely with the gator sauce. The island chicken sandwich was super flavorful, but a tad dry. This would be such a cute place to visit during sunset to get drinks and dinner. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
OMG! This was just what the doctor ordered. I felt like seafood so this is the place we went. First off, the view is amazing. It was a bit windy and the sun was starting to set and behind clouds so a little cool but not bad. We had 2 servers as we got there right at shift change and both were fantastic. Super nice young ladies. We started with the calamari rings and we're pleasantly surprised with the fried banana pepper rings. The sauce, I don't know what the name of it is, was really good. It was not a typical marinara sauce but great flavor to it. The entire dish was fantastic; perfect amount of batter. For my meal I chose the half pound peel and eat shrimp steamed and seasoned which tasted like an Old Bay seasoning as well as the fish bites. Again both items absolutely perfect. The fish was lightly breaded, nice little fish nuggets if you will. It normally comes with tartar sauce however I don't use tartar. They did have a hot sauce on the table that was actually really good with it. The peel and eat shrimp were large and cooked perfectly. The seasoning was succulent. Again both items super good and I ended up bringing about half of both home. My husband had the crab cakes dinner, which all of the items were amazing. The question in the one photo of his with the crab cakes is the little brown nugget looking things which tasted kind of like caramelized plantains or sweet potatoes. The description on the menu does not say anything other than Coastal vegetables. But they were really good; not too sweet but yummy. We also enjoyed a couple of drinks and overall really enjoyed the meal, the service and the atmosphere. This is definitely a place that we could go to again!
google avatar

Yelp
Came to Salt Shack after a workout class with a girlfriend and loved the laid-back vibe. It's super casual, which I'm all about. We went on a Sunday night and it was packed -- no reservation, so we waited over an hour for a table, but honestly didn't mind. We both got the mahi tacos (so good!) and I added a Caesar salad on the side. We ended up with a table right by the water and stayed to watch the sunset. The sun sets behind the Gandy Bridge, but it's still such a pretty spot. If you're coming from Tampa and want those chill, beachy vibes without driving too far, I definitely recommend it!
google avatar

Lauren L.

Yelp
If you want a tropical lunch spot on the water- I found it. What a great place. I had a fantastic waiter, maybe the greatest one I've ever had. Very friendly, interested in making sure we were enjoying the food, and ambiance. We sat right on the water, overlooking the bridge. It was perfect. The cutest addition were the cute little cats that roamed around the tables - they never jumped up or bothered anyone- they just scared away the annoying seagulls/birds. I really loved my lunch and the drinks were SO yummy.
google avatar

William S.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and plenty of servers. This place knows that they are busy and back it up with staff. Fresh fish and seafood. If you are from out of town or a local this is a place you want to hang out and have some drinks. Live music the whole time we were there. The musicians play from the back of a boat. Place is spread out, well decorated and right on the water. I will post my photos. I'll be back. Thanks to our servers Jessica and Maria they were awesome
google avatar

Ariana G.

Yelp
Parking was a nightmare but the food and the ambiance were spot on! There's a lot of construction going on by the shack so if you're headed there at a busy meal time be careful. The parking lot was partially blocked off which led to an entire row of cars having to back up and around the lot to find spaces. This was so stressful we almost left, but I am glad we didn't. This place had so many people working and despite the packed restaurant we were sat immediately. The drinks were delicious and affordable as was the food. There are plenty of spaces to sit if you just want to grab drinks and look at the bay which is what we did after lunch. We were even lucky enough to catch a dolphin! Lobster Bisque and Fish Tacos were delicious! The crab cake sandwich was a little on the soft side, but the flavor was still delicious. I would highly recommend if you're in the area!
google avatar

Ally L.

Yelp
Soo delicious!!!! And always a great vibe. We had family in town and wanted to go somewhere more laid back, with good food and by the water. Salt shack is always the best spot for that! We ordered the fish tacos, burger, and shrimp salad and none disappointed!! The food came out super quick and our waitress was awesome!
google avatar

James C.

Yelp
Stopped here on a suggestion from a fiend and was so impressed! Everything about the salt shack was amazing; the service, the food, the atmosphere and the prices! The good. 2 of my buddies ordered the catch of the day (triple tail) and got melt in your mouth perfect seared fish over rice and veggies. I ordered the fresh grouper basket and some gator tail and couldn't be happier with how tender and fresh it was. The service was fast and friendly and the relaxed tiki bar vibes were perfect. The bad. It was packed on a tues but we only had a 10 min wait. Even better they have a nice lounge area and text you status updates. Awesome system! The ugly. If you want amazing food at a very good price with fast and friendly service, Salt Shack is the place to be! 5/5 stars!!
google avatar

Lana B.

Yelp
A little bit out of the way, but it was recommended and on a couple lists. The atmosphere is everything! We sat right by the water, as out of town girlies we looooved the view. I got the grouper tacos, they were a little bit dry but the flavor was there. The civeche was great, the oysters were good but pretty pricey in my opinion. our waiter was super nice and joined in on our conversation a little which was fun. Huge parking lot made it easy to get in and out. We went on a thursday for a late lunch and didnt have to wait but they do accept reservations.
google avatar

Selin Y.

Yelp
Such great vibes here, especially by the water! It's the perfect spot to enjoy good food and beautiful views. Definitely recommend making a reservation though, it can get busy, and you'll want to snag a good table by the water. A really fun and relaxing place to spend an afternoon or evening!

Yelp
Located out in the spit south of Tampa in what appears to be an area that was once industrial and now transitioning to a more residential/commercial spot. This restaurant is huge. So much seating and most of it outdoors makes this a place I expected to be swamped. It was busy but maybe 50% of capacity. Indoor and Outdoor bars. Lots of great spots to sit and eat and drink and enjoy the water. We had a fish platter and shrimp and fries along with salads and multiple drinks. Oh yah we had a conch starter that was tasty. Out the door it was $160 for two so not a cheap spot but we spent a lot on booze. Service was friendly and attentive. Food came quickly and the options were decent. Oh yah, it's dog friendly so we were able to bring the dog and let her lounge and enjoy as well. She gave it 4 stars too. The only thing that would make it 5 stars would be an improvement in the parking area and some enhanced food options and the shrimp basket was a little anemic in terms of quantity.

Yelp
A hidden gem in the middle of no where lol. When I first got here I was skeptical as to why salt shack on the bay came highly recommended to me... dang was I super judgey for that. Don't judge a book by its cover! Salt shack on the bay is its own oasis. You step out of a construction zone and step into paradise with water views. My group was immediately greeted by a staff member and seated. This establishment offers indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for indoor seating however the entire place is open air which I loved. Service throughout was great! Our server checked in on us the perfect amount of times. It gave us time to look over the menu, chat and enjoy each others company. I started out with a speciality cocktail annnnd I forgot the name of it and what was in it, FAIL. However I can say that the 2 drinks I had were refreshing and had me buzzing. For food I started with the lobster bisque which was creamy but a little too salty for my liking. Next I shared the mahi tacos as well as the catch of the day (red snapper grilled). OMGGGGGGG, the fish was cooked and seasoned to perfection. It was full of flavor and delicious. The sides that came with the catch of the day were the perfect side dishes for this entree. The maduros were sweet and yummy. The rice was flavorful and the broccolini was cooked perfectly.

Yelp
If you are looking for a restaurant/bar with an open-air, beach vibes and possible views of the water, this should be an option. Such a cute beach concept. From the entrance, shipwreck where the live musician performs to shell waiting area with lounge chairs. Be prepared to wait if you go on a Saturday between 7-9pm. Our wait was 50mins. Lots of people and large parties waiting. The drinks are great but The Shack piña colada stood out! There is a "verbal" kids menu so just ask if you need it. I had the grilled gulf shrimp. It wasn't a large portion for $26 but it did satisfy and it was tasty. If you are on the hungrier side, I would recommend the Rasta Pasta. Overall, I would come back.

Yelp
Weekend trip to Tampa, and we stopped by on a whim for lunch and this spot did not disappoint. Place was packed, so I could tell it was a local favorite. Our server was attentive and polite. Food and drinks arrived quickly, and we left room for dessert. Casual and laid back beach vibes ambiance. Overall solid experience - worth the trip if you're visiting or new in town.

Yelp
Had a work luncheon at Salt Shack on the Bay and I'm still daydreaming about it! The vibes were pretty laid-back, tropical, and that waterfront view? Unreal. It felt like a mini vacation in the middle of the workday. I started with a Piña Colada that was so perfectly creamy & cold, I had to get another. The calamari was crispy and delicious, but what really set it off were the fried peppers mixed in. I ordered the jerk burger...& OH. MY. It was packed with flavor, juicy, spicy, and just downright delicious. I'm still thinking about it. Salt Shack nailed it on every level. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
On our way to Tampa via Gandy on Wednesday (6/18/25) noted the restaurant on right.....WOW . So glad we stopped in! We shared the clams casino (1st time ) it was good not great. I had the red fish with wild rice & plantains... AWESOME , my son had the mahi tacos / cilantro cream sauce with the yucca fries .. oh soo good. This is such a cool place, exceptionally large with lots of terrific seating. We ate outside yes under a canopy not far from the water. Nice breezes in our warm weather. Service was exceptional, friendly, clean and pleasant. Sangria spot on along with several selection of craft beer. I think with only 2 restaurants here and Claremont .. it's kinda of local. It's definitely worth a try. Prices are comparable to most other restaurants. Kudos to the chef, staff and owner for having such a great place.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots around! The food is just ok but the ambiance and drinks are top tier. I have had a few different things in the menu. The fish of the day was pretty good but on the expensive side. The apps are normal bar apps with a beachside spin (gator bites etc). What this place is severely lacking is a good chips and dip option. If this place had chips and dip I would give it 6 stars if I could. Where this place really gets its stars is for being right on the bay. It is a prime spot to catch the sunset with drinks in hand after a long day or just enjoy the nice bay breeze. There is a decently sized covered "indoor" area but the main event is the picnic tables along the water or bar area that is also mostly covered. They sometimes have live music. This place gets busy but I have never not found a spot even after parking pretty far away in the parking lot. I'm a big fan of their Pain Killer. If you ask for an extra shot with any drink, I would ask for it in a separate cup just to assure that you are indeed getting an extra shot. They are accommodating to this request. They have a lot of drink options so there is something for everyone. I love coming here just for the atmosphere! If you are looking for just food and more restaurant style spot, I would look elsewhere.

Yelp
Great view, great food and AMAZING service. The Gator bites were amazing, the fried shrimp and grouper fish were above average! Most of all our server Enna was one of the best during our trip to. Made us feel welcome, explained the entire menu, made sure we had a great flow of drinks and had the best tortoise shell nails! Super outgoing and had a genuinely great personality. Thanks for the hospitality!

Yelp
Salt shack on the bay is one of my local favorite eateries on the water here in Tampa Bay. The tuna tartare had the perfect balance of flavor, and it was packed with protein and a little punch of spice even. It was a nice light snack which went perfectly with my skinny margarita. Skinny margaritas are my go to drink when I go out and I have to say I always think of salt shack on the bay as a great spot for them. The ambience cannot be missed in this place. You can get a seat pretty much right on the water and say hi to your local manatees and even sometimes dolphins. It's a great spot if you just wanna be close to the bay and connect with the ocean. Also beautiful for sunset. The only downside I would say is I would like to see them get a little bit more staffed up properly because I can't count how many times I have been there and it takes a long time to get notice for service even if a host seats us. And sometimes after getting a server, it takes a while for them to come back around so that can be a little tough. I think they just need more staff because the staff themselves are really friendly. It's just a shortage that I think they have.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this gem on our way back to Miami and it did not disappoint. Don't be turned off by the construction around the area because once you walk up it is a little piece of paradise. The service was spectacular. Our server Luke was extremely knowledgeable and recommended delicious bites. We will definitely be back when we are in town. Order the grouper bites! And the fish spread

Yelp
This place is such a cute spot & has amazing view. I would, however keep expectations in mind. Show up knowing that you're likely going to have to wait. They don't take reservations and it's first come first serve. The only place you can seat yourself is directly at the bar. The bar tables are seated by the hostess. We ordered the tuna tartar, which was absolutely amazing. There's nothing I would change about that dish. We also ordered the blackened fish sandwich and the jerk chicken sandwich. Sandwiches were OK, but I would recommend adding cheese, pickles, and more onion to the jerk chicken sandwich. If you order the Yuca fries, they are served with a red chili sauce. I didn't see that listed on the menu. Overall, it's a really cute spot to have lunch or dinner, but the food could use a little improvement.
