An authentic place for nice BBQ 🍗 My wife had the „Grilled Cheese Sandwich with brisket - and that was super delicious! I had the St. Louis Ribs & the Brisket. While the taste of the meat was very nice, it was too dry. I expect meat to be juicy, and that was not the case. In addition the „White cheddar cracker mac“ was tasty, yet the pasta was overcooked and therefore too soft. So it is a really nice place for BBQ, with some room for improvement.

Salt + Smoke absolutely delivered. The food was excellent, from the smoky and tender meats to the creamy mac and cheese. The deviled eggs with candied bacon were a standout, and the popovers were a perfect touch. The bartenders were one of the highlights. They were friendly and welcoming from the moment we sat down. Even though the bar was packed, they kept drinks flowing quickly without missing a beat. It really set the tone for the night. Our food came out in about 15 to 20 minutes, which impressed me given how much we ordered. The location is another big win. It is right in the middle of everything downtown. After dinner we could easily walk to other spots for drinks, and since our hotel was nearby, it made for the perfect evening. I will definitely return the next time I am in St. Louis. I might even plan a Cardinals game just to have another excuse to come back here. Highly recommended.

I was in town for a conference and this was within a five minute walk from my hotel. I absolutely love barbecue, and I try every place I can find. When I arrived at lunchtime, there was a sign that said please wait to be seated, but there is no one at the front desk. I stood at the front desk for probably ten minutes before someone even came to the desk. But once I was seated, the service was great, and the food was amazing. The most tender, juicy barbecue I've had in a while. I would put this in my top five barbecue places. I also bought a couple bottles of sauce to take home. It was definitely worth the wait!

I was in town for a conference and came here with a group of seven. We had to wait for a bit but made our way to the bar as we did so. Enjoyed a reasonably priced ($10) cocktail before being seated. Once seated the service was friendly and timely. I was especially impressed that they split our checks individually. The food was good. I had a pulled pork sandwich and brisket chili. The servings were a little smaller than I would have expected. For example, the chili looked to be about as much as you’d get from a large ice cream scoop. My main reason for the 4-star rating, though, was the noise level. The music was very loud, requiring us to almost yell to speak across the table. Overall, I’m glad I tried it. However, I wouldn’t rush to get back next time I’m in town.

The staff here were so friendly and helpful! Being an out of towner....we came hoping to eat on the rooftop overlooking the stadium, but the even tho the top deck wasn't opened the owner was sweet enough to bring us on the tour so that we could get these amazing pictures overlooking into the Bush Stadium. Then let's talk about the food. Fried chicken skins is a must! As well as dipping those fall off the bones ribs or chicken wings in the "my sweet bestie" sauce!!! We were addicted to it. Great food and atmosphere/location! We will be dreaming of when we can go back for more of that wonderful BBQ sauce again for sure!

I always get at least one thing I dont like everytime. The chicken wrap is rich! I almost had to stop eating it before I was full because it almost became to much. Very wet. You will need lots of napkins. The chicken is similar to shredded canned chicken. Beef fries are awesome. The ribs app is good. I heard others say the fried pickles were good but my taste buds were overloaded with the wrap.

This is a wonderful location that right next to the Cardinals stadium and has a great casual ambience. Our group of 5 came at 7:30pm and we received very good service. I ordered the 3-meat plate with ribs, pulled pork and wings. They were out of brisket. The food was average as the ribs and the wings were dry and offered little meat off the bones. The pulled pork was above average. This is my first time at StL and so far I have found ribs and barbecue to be subpar vs Texas and Georgia. Go to Salt + Smoke for a cool ambience but don’t expect awesome food.

Amazing BBQ with a great atmosphere. I ordered brisket, pulled pork, St. Louis ribs with the brisket chili and creamed corn. Highly recommend any of these options. If I ever make it back this way I'll be visiting again!

Salt + Smoke is an absolute must-visit for BBQ lovers! As soon as you walk in, the laid-back vibe lets you know you're in for a great meal. The aroma of perfectly smoked meats instantly gets your mouth watering, and the food delivers on every promise. The brisket is tender, the ribs fall off the bone, and the burnt ends? Absolutely divine. The sides, like the creamy mac and cheese, and popovers, all complement their smoky and flavorful BBQ. But what really made the experience was the exceptional customer service from Shon. Shon went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, checking in just enough without being overbearing. We had a big group of people and Shon remembered where everyone sat AND what they had, divided our checks and was spot on. Made the dining experience that much more enjoyable! It's clear the team here takes pride in what they do, not only in the food but in how they treat their customers. Delicious food + impeccable customer service! Salt + Smoke nails it every time. Highly recommend!

Got a 2 meat combo with brisket, ribs, Mac and cheese, and cream corn. And honestly the sides were my favorite items. The cream cord was Smokey and flavorful and the Mac cheese well seasoned and creamy. I brisket was my least favorite. The BBQ sauces were great and the meat was just okay flavor wise and juicy/dryness.

Since a picture is priceless, here's a rack of reasons why you want your Salt & Smoke ribs prepared "trashy"!!! Tell me your mouth doesn't water when you look at this! Delectable? Understatement!!!

Me and my wife love Salt + Smoke. Always love coming to the one downtown. Right across from the Cardinals stadium and right next to Ballpark Village. Food is always great, and service is always good as well. We usually get the 3 meat platter and the 2 sides when we go. Always, always, always get the brisket lol. Wife seems to love the ribs, I usually get pulled pork and wings with mine. Also, if they ever have the Cheesy potatoes as a special side, GET IT!

First things first. Primary reason for the high review was because the service was absolutely exceptional. Billy made me feel like I belong to the table! Made the experience phenomenal. And on top of that, was the ability to enjoy some awesome food... And a really cool place to hang out. Recommend you come and enjoy some authentic St. Louis style food.

My wife & I came here by recommendation from the workers at the Gateway Arch tour. We were not disappointed. Our server Shekhinah was wonderful. She was pleasant and professional. She took care of our needs and made our eating experience wonderful. Highly recommend this place.

Salt + Smoke was phenomenal! They really nailed the smokey flavor on all of their food. The ribs were tender, the brisket was juice, the wings were smoked to perfection. Service was great, the waitress was warm and welcoming. The ambiance is nice and it's sooooo close to the stadium !! The salad was great, I did not enjoy the caesar dressing or the lemonade. The dressing was more on the bitter side and the lemonade was so sweet that it was sour. Aside from those two things, everything else was great ! Happy eating

Deciding to leave the conference area for lunch, the team decided to head to Salt + Smoke. As Salt + Smoke was blocks away we decided to walk. Not only was it an easy walk but it was beautiful as well. Salt + Smoke sits within the Ballpark Village. Ballpark Village (BPV) is a dining and entertainment district in Downtown St. Louis, Missouri, owned by the investment group that controls the St. Louis Cardinals, the city's professional baseball team. Located on the 200 and 300 blocks of Clark Street, it sits across the street from and is meant to complement Busch Stadium, the team's home field, on the site of the demolished Busch Memorial Stadium. As such, Salt + Smoke isn't just a restaurant, it's an experience. Walking in, we were greeted by the hostess who was very pleasant. As we had a party of 7 she asked us to allow her a few moments as she could push some tables together. She walked off and was back within moments and took us to our table. The ambiance of Salt + Smoke is very fun and upbeat. As we were there in the middle of the day the customer base was mixed. There were families, conference attendees, as well as local employees on break. Due to this, the vibe was very mixed and was great for our outing. Once we sat down, Bill arrived at our table and welcomed us to Salt + Smoke. He arrived with water and was ready to take our drink orders for those who wanted something besides water. After ordering my Sweet Tea, I took some time to review the menu and figure out what I wanted. The menu has a variety of options which made me super happy as I was hungry but didn't want anything heavy. I decided on the Brisket Sandwich with NO Bun and chose a Mixed Greens salad as my side. After placing our order we had time to talk and take pictures until our food came. Insert Jeopardy wait music here. (LoL) As our food started arriving my eyes grew big. The food was very fresh and the playing was beautiful. As you can see from my picture, my food looked goooooooddddd. My Brisket was well seasoned and tender. It had a small layer of fat around the outside that was so juicy and added a layer of texture to the bite that just made my mouth say 'ummmmmm.' LoL! I decided to mix the Sweet & Tangy BBQ Sauce with a dab of the Heat BBQ Sauce. Babeeeeeeeeeeee. The sauce is the secret hero. Ha! Though the brisket is good as a stand-alone, the sauce takes the flavor to a whole new level as it blends with the natural flavors of the meat. Smoke + Seasoning + Sauce = Major Mouth Happiness!!!!!!! LoL! The Mixed Greens salad was fresh. The dressing was light but flavorful, and it paired well with the meat without overshadowing the entree. Though I don't live in St. Louis, if I did, I would def make Salt + Smoke one of my monthly stops for my chat and chew friend days.

My boyfriend and I were looking to try a St Louis bbq place, and a few people recommended Salt and Smoke, so we thought we'd give it a try, especially given its close proximity to Ballpark Village. Our server (I don't remember her name) was friendly and outgoing, and gave some recommendations for drinks and food. My boyfriend got the old fashioned and I got a strawberry cocktail (one of their signatures). My drink was yummy... wish was larger! As for food, we shared the "bestie plate" with 4 meats, after our server recommended we get either 3 or 4. We got 2 types of ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. For our 2 sides, we got Mac and cheese and the beef fat fries. It also came with a large piece of bread. All of this for about $35 give or take! Great deal and great food! My favorite was the brisket and my boyfriend's was the ribs. Overall, great value for what you pay and great tasting too!! The only thing that I didn't like was that it was warm inside and there were some flies. That said, Definitely check it out if in the area!

Salt + Smoke smells goooooood! The aroma from the outside beckons you to enter. Located near Busch Stadium, it's a prime place to grab a drink and a bite before a Cardinals game. Location and mood are fantastic, but the BBQ will leave you wanting if you're an aficionado. The inside is lively and inviting. The food hits the spot and goes well with a crispy beer. Overall the food was a little disappointing. The brisket and the ribs are overcooked and very dry, tasting more of char than of well-rendered fat. The house BBQ sauces are vinegar and sugar-forward drowning out the flavor of the meat. The service was fantastic. Overall a great place for a lively lunch. For the win: St. Louis Style Ribs, tangy sauce, potato salad, cole slaw, and sweet tea

Located right by Busch stadium, the baseball stadium, this place gets busy with a lot of foot traffic due to a variety of hotels in the area plus people coming here to pre funk and eat before the game. It's hyped up by tourist so it might be a tourist trap. I went because I only had 75 mins for lunch. We sat outside. There's a few places to sit no more than 15 seats and it's also where their smoker is you'll be getting all the smells and if they open it, you'll see charcoal dust swirling in the wind. Inside there's AC and a ton of seating. It was lunch time and it was packed. Bathrooms are also super nice. I went with the four meats and two sides option because money wise it felt like a better bang for the buck and I had enough left over for lunch the next day. I got the following: Fried jalapeño and Cheddar Bologna Brisket Smoked wings St Louis Ribs I also got the toasted ravioli because I have never seen anything like that before. The sauce that came with it was a good choice. I wasn't a fan of it without it. The two sides I ordered was Brussel Sprouts which was tasty and fries. All the meats comes sauceless. I prefer mine to come tossed in it. There's a handful of sauces to choose from. Too many of them were okay in my opinion. None of them was great. Thats really the only complaint I had about this place. Would confidently give this a 3.5 star place. Nothing less. Nothing more.

If you visit make sure to try the brisket! I ended up with the brisket sandwich at the recommendation of a coworker who said the brisket was a must have and I couldn't agree more. The entire sandwich was perfectly crafted and the Mac and cheese was also so delicious. The ambiance was lively and service was great as well. My only minor complaint is the food was really salty but not enough to detract from the meal.

We came to downtown Salt and Smoke after visiting City Museum on a Saturday night. We were able to get a parking spot right outside which was lucky and we were sat right away on the lower level. Our server was super friendly and really accommodating to our kids. My husband and I both ordered a cocktail to start. I got the walnut old fashioned which was excellent. I also got the chicken plate with their famous cracker Mac and cheese and cream corn. My husband got the brisket sandwich and upgraded to loaded tallow fries. Our daughter got the cheeseburger kids meal. All of our food came out really quickly and the portions are really generous. We ended up taking home enough for lunch the following day. I would definitely recommend you add this to your downtown restaurant lineup even when it's not Cards season.

Even thinking about what I wanted to say about my experience here, I started involuntary salivating. I can't stop! My boyfriend and I agree that this place has, HANDS DOWN, the best sides ever! We shared the Beef Fat Fries, White Cheddar Mac & Cheese, Creamed Corn, and Coleslaw. The beef fat fries reminded me of less fancier version of the fries from a high end restaurant in Bourdeax, France. Seriously! The Mac & Cheese was amazing. We were told that it was the crumbled up Ritz crackers on top. Yeah..... I think it's also the high quality cheese. I live in Wisconsin and I am surround by cheese, so I know! The creamed corned had a nice kick to it. The coleslaw was perfect. Not creamy or vinegary - just a perfect mix of veg and seasoning. Our entrees that we split were the ribs and the pulled pork. Super yummy... The ribs aren't the best I ever had, but they were pretty darn good. I actually like the pulled pork more. Soooo good. Service was very friendly and helpful! We were seated a lot faster than I thought we would be considering it was a busy night. I love the feel of this place. High ceilings, spacious, and lively! I would love to go back on a game day to pre-game and check out the ballpark. Salt + Smoke is on my list of place to remember the next time I'm in town. Make sure you check it out!

Located right next to Busch Stadium, this Salt + Smoke location serves some amazing BBQ that will not disappoint you. I sat at the bar, ordered an Old Fashioned and a plate of brisket, and had a great night. Service was good and the atmosphere was chill. This is the spot to be if you want good BBQ in a central part of St. Louis. You might as well catch a Cardinals game too if there is one going!

The hostess was so great! She gave me advice about all the different options for my to go order. I got the 2 meat plate with burnt ends and ribs. Sides of fries and cole slaw. Meats and fries were excellent! Slaw was good, but next time, I'll go with her suggestion of the mac and cheese. So much food! Leftovers for a second meal make the price a good value too.

A really cool spot to check out if you have time before the Cardinals game. That's exacltly what my girlfriend and I did, and we are so glad we did! There was no wait for us on a warm, Tuesday night. We sat outside on the 2nd floor, and our server was the bartender. The bartender was really cool and easy going, and we really enjoyed her service to us. I ordered the 1/2 kale salad with brisket on top, and I really enjoyed it! My girlfriend ordered the pulled pork sandwich, and the pulled pork wasn't overflowing on the bun like it normally does at other places. The bun was very good bread. We would definitely return, if given the opportunity.

This place was massive. It was also very busy after the Cardinals game. We had a large group and we were split into two tables which was fine. The service was a little bit slow, even though we all ordered at the same time the first table got their food, a good five minutes before our table, they do run out of things in real time and update you as you were ordering. I really wanted some of the brisket, but they didn't have any by my turn to order. We ordered the deviled eggs and fried pickles for eight of us at our table. The deviled eggs I did not try because I don't like them. However, the fried pickles were delicious. They were a variety of pickles, gherkins, spears, and nickel pickles. I also shared a slice of the pecan caramel pie. I don't even remember what it was called, but it was a delicious. Bottom line, solid food, loud great ambience. I would definitely go back if I was in the St. Louis area.

My mouth is watering looking at pics of this meal again. I ordered the brisket sandwich with Mac n cheese as the side. The brisket was so tender and juicy. But the star was the Mac n cheese! So buttery and packed with flavor. The ritz cracker add in is absolutely genius! It added a good texture to it. The deviled eggs was lackluster and felt more of a filler to me. Now if I could just get a vat of that Mac n cheese

There is paid parking and limited street parking. The location is on the back side of the plaza closer to the stadium down the small alley. We decided to sit at the bar instead of wait for a table. The bar service was great. There is a great whiskey selection, I tried the calumet bourbon which I hadn't tried before. We got our food very quickly after placing our order. I really liked the ribs and the brisket was sliced and was moist and thick. I didn't like the beans, the flavor was a bit smokey for me. The potato salad was good but there was cheese which I would have preferred to not have in it. The vibe is bright.

As always, salt and smoke bbq is incredibly delicious! This downtown location was also well served, staff was very friendly and checked up often. The ambiance is a little more modern than the homey Loop location but it makes sense. We got a plate with 3 meats (pulled pork, brisket, ribs) and sides of the white cheddar Mac and beans. All the food was so delicious! I got a spicy Paloma cocktail - the flavor was a little too watered down / club soda-y for me, so that's the only miss for me today. Overall, highly recommend for BBQ!

Salt & Smoke! What a delicious spot downtown near the ballpark with several hotels are within walking distance. I ordered Take Out from UberEats. Pick up was easy. To Go ordered are waiting just behind the hostess stand. Don't forget to ask for BBQ sauces. Hotangy was very good although my brisket was fantastic without sauce. I had the Brisket with Mac & Cheese and Coleslaw. Everything was delicious! Lemon Berry Mascarpone Cake is so good too!

Amazing service, great style of the restaurant, and to top it off... the food was phenomenal. The burnt ends ravioli were perfectly sweet and savory. The brisket and smoked wings were perfectly cooked. The Mac and cheese was good. BUT THE FRIES. Holy cow. Their fries made in brisket fat were the best fries I have ever had. 10/10 will come back just for fries. Everything was quickly brought out and we cannot wait to come back!

Great location near the baseball stadium. Walking distance to our hotel and the Arch. FANTASTIC BBQ!!! We loved everything we ordered. The service was excellent. (we sat at the bar as we usually do) I highly recommend.

The location is awesome being right across from the baseball stadium and live music just around the corner, but the food itself is mediocre. We ordered the fried pickles and deviled eggs to start - those were good. The BLT's came out and are just on standard sliced size toast and were loaded with super fatty bacon. The flavor was good I just had to remove lots of the bacon with it being so fatty. Others at our table got the brisket sandwich and it was by far the saddest brisket sandwich I'd ever seen. When I hear a meat sandwich like that a bbq restaurant, I envision loads of shredded brisket piled high - no. This was one slice of brisket on a bun. It was SO disappointing and left me puzzled how this bbq restaurant is even considered a legit one. They also were out of a few items this day, so overall wouldn't really recommend here unless you're coming for drinks or the good location. On the bright side the service was great - our waitress was super quick and friendly. She did an awesome job waiting on us!

We were down near the baseball stadium and hungry so we hit up Salt & Smoke. I usually go the one on the loop so we tried this one. Service was friendly and quick. We ordered drinks. My craft brew was delish from UCBC Zwickel. I got the bologna sandwich which was so damn good. Served with fries it was heaven. My Wife gut a brisket sandwich with fried pickles which she liked except for the cornichon pickles. My Daughters got the brisket plate and the dry ribs which they both enjoyed. All the sauces x on the table were yummy. We parked nearby in a cheap lot. I'd go here again for sure.

Food: we thought the food was good and not that expensive for the area. The pulled pork sandwich meal was $12 and I could not finish it. I didn't love any of the sauces. Normally I like a sweet heat situation but none were really like that. The pulled pork and brisket had good flavor though with no sauce. Wish there was more natural juice on it. 2 service was 10/10. We got food super quick! 3. It was a nice restaurant with a good vibe. Upscale bbq. At these types of places, the bathrooms are normally pretty cute but it was super bland. Good space for some large tables. Had a couple TVs

This chain is well recommended but falls short on deliverance. Brisket was full of gristle, Sauce was way too sweet, and the complimentary bread was horrific. Service was attentive but given their location, there's just far too many patrons. Seating was underwhelming, and the place was incredibly noisy. Prices are high and overall, not worth the money or hype

I was looking forward to sampling St. Louis bbq for the first time. This place came highly recommended by several people we asked. It was pretty good too. The sauces were not my favorite, I prefer southern style but they were not bad. The mustardolina was my favorite of these. For the meat, the brisket was delicious. Very tender and I loved it. The pulled pork was also good although not as flavorful as I hoped. It's part of what's holding me back from a 5 star. The other part was the Mac n cheese and beans. I was expecting a lot more from the Mac and cheese based on what I read but it was mediocre. Same for the beans. The restaurant is very nice, great decorating. Our server (maybe Lauren?) was great too. She was right on top of everything. I'd go back.

Excellent pulled pork with mac&cheese. Very fast service, Shawn was excellent. I also recommend the Eldest Uncle to drink.

Order to go from here and was not pleased at all with one of the plates that we requested. It looks like somebody just took a handful of pulled chicken and threw it in a box and close it and the bread is hard as a rock the two sides were the only thing that was placed in the container as the chicken should if it wasn't going to be on a bun just unacceptable all the way around and whoever answer the phone wasn't great help either

I stopped here after walking around the Arch grounds and museum. It's not a far walk, so an easy stop for food. Great for groups! I chose the combination plate with brisket and pulled pork. It came with the meats, a popover and 2 sides (cheddar mac and cheese and coleslaw). The coleslaw was excellent - not creamy at all and not very vinegary. It had bits of apple in it. The mac and cheese was really cheesy and tasty, but I wasn't a fan of the cracker crumbs as it made it a bit sweet for me. The bartender said the mac and cheese was easily their most popular side, but the greens beans were up there too. The meats were good. I preferred the pulled pork over the slices of brisket. Also the popover was wonderful! I didn't taste the bacon but got the cheese and really enjoyed that. The bbq sauces were good, but nothing to remember. I preferred the hotangy (vinegar based with some heat), the mustard (slightly sweet) and the I can't even (slow heat towards the end). I didn't find them very spicy. The bartender was super nice and allowed me to change my order after she put it in from a brisket plate to the combo platter with pulled pork. She also helped me pick a beer from a local brewery (the Modern) and I loved it.

Had all the potential of a good meal. Be warned if you come here later on during the week. They will run out of nearly everything. Amazing bourbon and whiskey collection. Our waitress was phenomenal and apologized for the lack of options. Great bar and overall setting.

I was in St. Louis and met up with some friends in the area who suggested Salt + Smoke when I said I was looking for some local BBQ. The food and service was great. For me, I give it five stars for its fantastic whiskey selection at the bar. I could honestly spend many nights there going through their whiskey menu.

A must visit when going to St. Louis. Incredible flavor, great portions, and many options to choose from. Service was exceptional and one of the best I've received. My server was so kind and tentative. There was a little miscommunication with the food order, but it was immediately corrected when I asked about it, and she was so nice about it too. I loved the BBQ, and I honestly have no complaints. If I lived closer, it'd be somewhere I visit once a week maybe.

Great location inside the Ballpark food area. Plenty of seating from outside to inside. I took a seat at the bar to have a quick lunch. It took a while for them to get to me since it was quite busy for a Saturday afternoon. Their bar area has TV's showing sports and a backdrop of collectible bourbons. They also have quite an extensive bourbon list as well as other whiskies. Prices on the liquor was somewhat reasonable. Although their prices on beers not so much. I could have had an Elijah Craig bourbon for the price of my 4 Hands Incarnation IPA which was $9.00. For lunch, I had the pulled pork sandwich ($14.99) which came with cole slaw on top and the choice of a side. I chose the "special side" which were cheesy scalloped potatoes with mushrooms. The pulled pork was good. They also have a selection of barbecue sauces (their signature brand) to add. I took mine plain which was less messy. The food and service were good. Value was also pretty good.

Decent bbq near the arch. Personally I like Sugarfire better, but Salt + Smoke is a little closer to the arch. This place is good if you want to come for a later dinner because it seems like Sugarfire runs out of meat faster and closes a little earlier than this place. Salt + Smoke also has a lemon gooey butter cake but it just tastes like a glorified lemon bar and it's a little pricier than other places. Chill restaurant vibes. Service is super fast though so if you're hungry, you won't be disappointed.

You will find this barbecue joint across from Busch Stadium in Ballpark Village. You cant miss it. It has a huge smoker going out front. There are many parking options here, including commercial garages, metered street parking and commercial lots all within a reasonable walking distance. They validate parking for the lot. They have a huge dining area with a full bar with seating. You will see televisions placed above the bar. It has a very hip and trendy farmhouse vibe. The staff there was very nice courteous and attentive. The restaurant serves barbecue with some exotic selections mixed in. Some of their items included ribs, brisket, deviled eggs, salads, pulled pork, pulled chicken and hush puppies. You can get the barbecue as a meal, as a sandwich or by the pound. They also have signature cocktails on their menu. I got the two meat plate with ribs and brisket. For my sides I went with Pit Beans with Smoked Bacon and creamed corn. I saw that they had fried chicken skins on the menu and had to try them. It took about 12 minutes for me to get my meal. It was fresh and hot. They have four flavors of barbecue sauce on the table to choose from: Hotangy, My Sweet Bestie, I Can't Even, and Mustarolina. I tried them all and Hotangy was my favorite. My ribs were decent, not the best that I have had, but decent. The corn was pretty good, it had a little kick to it, but I like a little kick with my food. The brisket was good. I was not a fan of the beans though. They are nit your typical beans. I guess I was expecting backed beans. Either way, I did not like them. The fried chicken skins were awesome. I really enjoyed them. They were something unique and I had never seen them on a menu before. I highly recommend them. This is a viable barbecue option if you are downtown or catching a Cardinals game. I recommend stopping by and checking them out. They have a very nice vibe with a prime, centralized location.

Came here after my Busch Stadium tour and loved my brisket sandwich with creamed corn. The brisket really didn't need any of the delicious sauces on the table, because it had so much flavor on it's own. They have a great seasoning rub on the meat. The creamed corn wasn't what I was expecting. It was more like a rich corn soup, but nevertheless still tasty. The service was awesome too. Our waitress came around a few times to check on us and also refilled our waters.

Salt + Smoke BBQ exceeded my expectations! The food was reasonably priced, brought out quickly and the brisket was SO TENDER AND MOIST. Plus this may be the best BBQ style mac and cheese I have ever gotten at a restaurant. Salt + Smoke offers sauces at your table, so we of course tried them all. Lots of flavor profiles to mix and match with. We even bought one on our way out. WILL VISIT AGAIN!

Had the full rack ribs, Mac and cheese and pecan bar. The ribs were tender and flavorful, the Mac and cheese was rich and the pecan bar was fantastic. The prices were on par for the cut of meat and quality. Would eat here again!

Service was as little as could be achieved while still maintaining a pulse. This was at the bar, but it's an easier commute for the bartender than the wait staff serving tables. Not sure why they struggled so much to do the minimum. As for the food- lots of potential, they know how to properly smoke brisket- however my brisket wasn't lean. Lots of fatty lard chunks involved, that weren't edible. The 3 bites of lean brisket were perfect, the four slices of fatty brisket made me queasy. The pepper potato salad was both pepperless and flavorless. The beans were OK, but not special in any way. Overall, I'm at 3 stars, but had I been served lean brisket by any server showing any spark of life I could easily get to 4 stars. Potato salad needs an overhaul no matter what. I won't be returning, but try for yourself, maybe the ribs?

One of my favorite bbq places in the country. The white cheddar mac is great. Love the ribs and the bourbon selection. There were a couple times where the meat was a little dry hence the 4 stars but for the most part incredible.

2nd time at this location. Again i got the meat combo, ribs, burnt ends, sliced brisket and wings. Definitely could taste the smoke and overall good flavor. Wings were the standout. The other 3 meats, though tasty, they again were a bit dry like my last visit. Overall tremendous value for $28. Will continue to come back.

The place is located right in the middle of downtown by the stadium. Parking is not available so you must park on either the street ir one of the surrounding garages. The place is pretty and nicely decorated, prices are fair and our waitress was sweet but I thought the food was just ok. Our ribs were very dry and the fries fried in beef fat honestly tasted like normal everyday fries. All the food felt a little simple and a bit cold but the sauces were great savers, especially the mustard one in my opinion.

A road trip with Dad, and he wanted to see the arch but needed to get something to eat. At first, we stopped at some Cardinals Nation restaurant on Clark Street that offered a menu of burgers, salads, etc., safe food, but I wanted something different after dealing with nausea and vertigo. So, we headed to Salt + Smoke. Excellent decision. The fantastic staff suggested an outdoor view from the second floor that looks out into Busch Stadium. Dad settled for the three-meat option with two sides, and I had the same. Although, I don't know if Dad grasped that he ordered chicken for all three options. Everything was fresh, and the meat was moist and not microwaved or placed under a heat lamp. Finally, the waiter was terrific and suggested local things to do. After Dad declared us baseball fanatics, the waiter gave us a history lesson on the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Browns baseball clubs and the St. Louis Terriers. He was very much a fanatic himself.

Went here after visiting the Arch since it was within walking distance. It's best to join the waitlist through yelp so your wait isn't so long. Service was amazing! I can't remember her name, but our server had so much energy, great attitude and was very helpful with any questions you had. I think her name was Shawna? I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with the pit beans w/ bacon as my side. The sandwich was pretty good. The meat wasn't sauced, so it needed help from the sauces that were provided at the table (which I think may be the point). The slaw and pickles were a great addition to help break up the savory-ness with some acid. I don't typically like sweet pickles, but with this sandwich, it worked! Also can't forget the bun and how pretty it looked! Bathroom was very clean too!

Who doesn't love BBQ? Recent trip through St. Louis and needed some BBQ, decided to check out Salt and Smoke. The sauces are delicious, and the bourbon menu is respectful. The food though, the food was amazing!! I tried the smoke wings and ribs... So so good. Wish the seating was a bit more comfortable, but the food, service and value are wonderful. Highly recommend!
