NYC Restaurants With Bubble Tables & Tents

"The Lower East Side location of this casual Italian restaurant has a couple of bubble tables on Grand Street available for lunch and dinner. They’re just big enough for two people, which means you’ll only have to share your pizza, garlic knot sliders, and chicken wings with one other person." - hannah albertine, nikko duren

"I meet up with Lily, co-host of our new podcast Celebrity Book Club, to “discuss business,” which is actually a ruse to leave the house (put on an outfit) and swing by a former lover’s gallery opening for attention. The plan is heat-lamped martinis at Saluggi’s, a sort of Boston-ish sports bar in the Lower East Side, but they don’t have heat lamps, and food is mandatory (“Thanks, Cuomo!” barks the barkeep), so we opt instead for hot toddies to go, and march toward enemy lines."

Didn't get anything to eat during this first visit to this place. I did have a great experience and enjoyed visiting with Carlos the bartender on duty. Real good guy! When I return to NYC I will be sure to stop by again and will plan on eating next time. Feels like a really comfortable local spot and there were plenty of baseball fans yelling at the TV. I sat outside and just did some people watching. Once again, Carlos was fantastic and went out his way to introduce himself and share a handshake. Nice touch!

I really like Saluggi's. The pizza is good quality and the pasta is also usually great. Yesterday I got the lasagna and there was almost no filling in it though... Previous times it was great, overflowing with cheese. Anyway I'll still give it a 4.5 and I hope it was just a one off or bad luck on the specific piece. I'll update the review if it becomes a regular issue lol. The staff has always been friendly and nice, and again the pizza is great. I would still encourage people to visit.

Great pub, so great. The food is excellent, the beer is on point and the bartenders are attentive and friendly. Anton is awesome and will treat you right. Gotta try the wings. It’s a nice neighborhood vibe in the LES.

Google
LOVE THIS PLACE! Been coming here for many years. I'm glad the guys took it over, and it's a great local place. The food is awesome - wings, burgers, pizza... everything is good. Decent beer specials for happy hour, and the cocktails aren't "cheap," but the food is reasonable and actually hits the spot. Seriously, clocked many hours at Saluggis. Love this place.

Google
First bar we visited in our NY trip. Pizza was great. These were the biggest chicken wings I’ve ever seen. Just nuts. Couldn’t even finish it! lol.

Google
We ordered the wings and meatball garlic knots. Both we so good. It was such a pleasant surprise. Amazing. Drake, our bar tender, was very hospitable and knowledgeable.

Google
This place was recommended to me and boy was happy I didn't wait long. Had the baked ziti and cheese fries. Food tasted amazing and very well portioned. The presentation was very good as you can see by the photos. The atmosphere was very good as the staff served me fast and very friendly. They have a wide variety of liquor and beer to go with amazing food.

Went with family for lunch and the food was great! Hot and delicious. Great service as well.

Yelp
Decided to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful late summer weather and had a great time! Really nice seating arrangements and great area. Bar and indoor seating looked really nice as well, restaurant has a good environment. Went for lunch and got the Italian Deli Pizza and the Caesar Salad. The pizza was SO good, great crust texture and delish sauce flavor. Large pizza was huge, bigger than expected and a great deal. The caesar is very traditional with anchovies on top! Was not the best caesar in the world but we still ate it all. In the late afternoon they only had one person working the floor but our service was still super good. Really quick to seat us and easy to place an order with him! Food came relatively fast.

Yelp
Saluggis used to be my #1 pizza place in Manhattan. Lately ingredients have changed on the pizza, cheese isn't fresh mozz (or if it is, they prepare it differently), sauce is off, and bread is thinner & dryer. Maybe they need to cut costs but it's a real bummer cuz the OG Saluggis was undisputed. This is for delivery - unsure if in-house pies have changed...but for $40 all in for a large pizza, it should be first class...and sadly Saluggis has slid down the pack to join the legion of mediocrity that is delivery pizza.

Yelp
Great local tavern on the Lower East Side. Great happy hour drinks and prices. I didn't try the food but the service drinks and ambience hits the spot. I'll come back for the food next time! Give them a try.

Yelp
I always come back here when I want good pizza and a cozy atmosphere. I was here recently and enjoyed friendly service even though the one server was slammed. I really enjoyed the hot pizza and unique beers on tap. I would definitely come here to watch a sports game and hang out with friends.

Chris M.

Yelp
Food is just average to above average bar food. But the bartenders are awesome and well worth it for that reason alone. One guy in particular, whose name escapes me but worked last night and couldn't have been nicer and more professional. I recommend!

Peter Z.

Yelp
Nice joint during game day. Plenty flat screens throughout the restaurant. Excellent pizza pies and wings. Quick service.

Yelp
Been a while since I have came here - and recently stopped by. Thursday night - packed!! It looked like a neighborhood hot spot and absolutely well deserved. The patrons were all friendly. Decor, service and bathrooms were all excellent. Food was also solid. Ordered a small pizza to try out and the thin crusted custom option was very nice. It was very well done. Star of the menu show for me was the caesar salad. The lettuce had a nice fresh crunch and they topped it off with anchovies (which is quite rare unless maybe at high end restaurant.). However, I want to mention that I normally do not care for croutons, just brush them off to the side. At this place, I had them all. They were seasoned sooo well. For a weekday this was a packed house!

Yelp
Glad to find this past midnight and have a NY pizza. I forgot name of my drink, wide something, had 3. Great vibe. My son too forgot name of drink. 6 shots of reposado later = great chat about life

Yelp
Casual italian restaurant/bar in LES. This islocated on a strip of other restaurants/businesses. Table service is available and the waiters were nice and quick. The ceasar salad was disappointing, the dressing was more ranch with anchovies on top instead of a ceasar dressing. Dressing is on the heavier side so the salad was pretty limp. Not a big fan, but the pizza and apps looked good.

Yelp
I've passed by multiple times in the past. Never had a chance to go in till now. We were all hungry and was in a rush to get back for lunch. Decided to try takeout first and ordered a large red pizza pie and a house salad with grilled chicken. I think they make their pies super fast as I picked up much later than anticipated - 30 minute from initial call and the pie was lukewarm on the bottom of the box. By the time i got home, it was disappointly cold. But i think if i had it fresh or earlier, it would have been quite yummy. The house salad was a knockout. The grilled chicken was sublime. So surprising and very satisfying. Greens were fresh and John, the guy who took my order, was so pleasant to deal with. Looking forward to dining in next time!

Yelp
Customer service was good and the food also will be there again on game days for you just need some happy hour food items

Yelp
This intimate pizza restaurant has great, powerful and tasty alcoholic drinks (definitely try the Froze, pronounced "phro-zay"), very attentive and present waiters and a huge variety of great-tasting brick oven pizzas; they even allow you to "build-your-own-pizza" in case you can't find a selection upon their menu! The pizzas DO run quite expensive...but you are guaranteed to be full after you are done digging in. The low-lit, all-around welcome atmosphere is perfect for dating and the outdoor seating is even better for people-watching as you dine. My longtime German friend, Felix, took me here for my first time. He said, "This place is perfect for those that are especially into brick over pizzas." He wasn't lying.
google avatar

Marissa S.

Yelp
This is such a warm, and inviting bar. The ambient lighting and cute outdoor seating draws you in. Really enjoyed the pizza, calzone, and drink selections. And the service was fast and friendly!

Yelp
Tour groups stop outside of the Pickle Guys, Doughnut Plant, and Kossar's on Grand St when visiting the Lower East Side. Yet they never seem to walk farther along the same street to a local neighborhood favorite: Saluggi's East. You probably haven't seen and likely never will find this pizza establishment named on a list of NYC's best pizza. But I assure you that it's amazing. And the fact that locals, like me, continue to patronize it with loyalty, attests to its reliable quality, reasonable prices, and accessibility. I've never had anything but pizza here, but everything I've tried is delicious. My favorite is the Little Italy pizza, with Italian sausage, roasted peppers, caramelized onions, and very generous and good quality fresh mozzarella cheese. I'm also a big fan of the Grandma Saluggi's Pizza pie, which is a thin-crust square pizza with mozzarella and parmesan. The Vegetarian pizza comes with a robust amount of vegetables, including mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, roasted red peppers, olives, and red onions. For a vegan pizza, the Vegan Cheese is wonderfully cheesy, with the basil hitting the right spot. I also appreciate that the staff is flexible about adding ingredients to the specialty pizzas. We've been able to even add an ingredient to just one half of the specialty pizza. The atmosphere is casual and cozy inside, making it a great place to meet up with friends or just enjoy a family meal. There are TVs for those looking to catch a sports game, but thankfully are not on very loud for those still trying to have a conversation.

Yelp
This hidden gem on the Lower East Side of Manhattan is a haven for Italian food enthusiasts. Nestled near shopping destinations like Trader Joe's, it offers an opportunity to indulge in a sophisticated meal without a hefty price tag. Carlos, the skilled bartender and mixologist, creates delightful cocktails that perfectly accompany the cuisine, guaranteeing a dining experience that will leave you grinning.

Yelp
3.5 stars - This used to be my go to spot, their pizza and wings were so tasty. However, recent delivery orders have gone way down hill. Items have been left off multiple times and portions are smaller. The grandma's pie used to take up the entire pizza box, now it's probably 3/4 the box.
google avatar

Yelp
Pizza was delicious and service was excellent. We were visiting from California for my sister wedding and stopped by the day after, we are very glad we did.
google avatar

Yelp
I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone with children. We had our ONE year old with us when we stopped in on a Tuesday around 530. Our son was crying and after a few minutes we were told to go eat our food outside as he was disturbing the other patrons at the bar. He is ONE! I was holding him attempting to get him to stop crying, we weren't just lettjng him cause a ruckus. Such shitty customer service, it's a pizzeria not a five star dining establishment. We even had customers tell us not to leave that they understood. Never in my life have I ever encountered such a shitty owner.

Yelp
I was a long time patron of the original TriBeCa location which is now unfortunately closed. Saluggi's East however is just as amazing as the TriBeCa location!! The staff is amazing, Gabe/Anton/Drake and John always make my day when I see them. The food is always on point, my favorite is their "Drunken Grandma" pizza a custom pizza recommended by Gabe! Ambiance is great, classic sports bar with a great variety of beer/cocktails and frozè Saluggi's will always be my go to pizza place, everyone needs to try this place!!!!
google avatar

Calvin H.

Yelp
Food came in huge sharable portions and was extremely delicious. Our waiter was extremely friendly and came over multiple times checking up on us. The place itself has an old school bar vibe. Definitely recommend if you got a craving for pizza or pasta!

Yelp
Great place to watch the game, very good pizza and other Italian dishes. Go there for the great daily happy hour,

Yelp
Great atmosphere for sports & family lunch/dinners. John & Anthony are cool and attentive bartenders/servers. A rare gem in the area.

Yelp
Caesar dressing was okay (lacked acid). The ingredients they use are nice and fresh! Ordered the Chicken and Garlic Sandwich today and they forgot the mozzarella (but were nice enough to refund me a portion of what I paid) and hey, it happens so no biggie. Average sandwich overall! Would definitely order again from Saluggi's East but try something else instead. Nice woman on the phone today for sure so even though they were busy I appreciated the customer service :)
google avatar

Yelp
First and foremost they enforce VAX proof!! Major W!! If you live in this area you just make this your neighborhood bar!!! To start the entire staff is really nice and try their best to accommodate to the customers!! Friendly atmosphere The food is absolutely off the chain their pizzas are to die for. the best thing about that is the create your own option I've tried many items off the menu all delicious a must try Drinks are good as well and very reasonable with the prices (same for food) a really deep selection of Draught to mixed drinks !! Also side on Saturdays they have a DJ don't sleep on this place it goes down here come and join the fun will be back soon and often
google avatar

Yelp
This is a solid place and the pizza is amazing. The bartenders know there stuff and hospitable. If you do decide to eat here, I also recommend Garlic Chicken Wings
google avatar

Yelp
Trivia night at Saluggi's is a great idea because the food over here is better than or at least on part with your regular bar food. We ordered the red Pizza, with grilled chicken as toppings. It ended up being a little expensive for the small pizza, which is nonetheless filling. The ambience here was better than usual, with half of the crowd here to catch a game and have a few drinks, the other half competing with us in trivia!
google avatar

Christen N.

Yelp
Honey garlic parmesan ribs are amazingly delicious, good burgers & pizza is also very good!

Yelp
So, a month ago I had a good experience. On 6/17, I brought a friend and the experience was different. We both ordered a beer, Cesar Salad and Clams with Linguine. Beers are fine. Cesar Salad was just okay. Linguine and clams were nice with a good taste. Lettuce not so fresh but passable. Linguine came with only a petit clam fork and table spoon to swirl the pasta? How much could this fork hold? Very unusual choices. Coffee was very good. We (had to) ask for grated cheese and got it when we were near finished with our meals before they got cold. Disappointing. Ambiance was nice eating outside on a beautiful evening. I recommend them, but don't expect 4-5 Star service or food at this time.

Gloria R.

Yelp
This place is amazing. My family and I go here every time we go out to eat because of the amazing Italian food. The service is amazing too, they're so kind and funny and friendly, I always feel at home when we go. The restaurant itself is great and always clean. If you wanna go out and enjoy a good meal in a nice chill place, I 100% recommend this, you won't regret it.

Yelp
Cool neighborhood bar. We were walking around looking for a place to grab lunch. Saluggis was a block away and had good reviews. We popped in to grab a bite. Really enjoyed our visit here and would recommend this spot. I had the Meatball Sub. I can say that the portions are pretty huge. I did finish it but struggled a bit. The food was quality but just a tad dry. I wish that they would have added a little more sauce. Really liked the atmosphere of the bar. Just a cool neighborhood place to hang out. Service was good as they checked on us frequently.
google avatar

Bamike O.

Yelp
I ordered here because I was really craving pasta and their pasta looked really good, especially their Penne alla Vodka since it seems to be there most popular dish. So I place my order and decide to add a calzone on a whim. When I ordered it was close to the end of the night. When I received my order and tried my Penne alla Vodka with meatballs it was the driest pasta I have ever received. I assumed that it may have been because it was the end of the night and they ran out of sauce. I called to ask for replacement and was met with a combative man who said when it left it was fine, and that no he would not replace the dish even on another day. This is after I stated that I would bring the dish myself after paying for delivery. He didn't care how the pasta was delivered and said that that's how they prepare it and I just don't have to order from them next time. The one star, since that's the lowest I can give would be for the edible calzone.

Yelp
great spot to watch a game or fight. cozy divey vibes, cheap drinks, tasty food, good staff. great spot to park yourself during march madness or a night of ufc

Yelp
Great place to watch the UFC!!! Come early to grab a seat. Good food too :) and they charged my iphone when asked :D

Yelp
Top shelf food service ambiance, and value! Looking forward to a return visit. The vegetarian pizza was enormous, served hot and delicious! John was a friendly and gracious server.

Yelp
Going there during the day was okay but at night it's different. My friend and I would go at night and we were disrespected by Drake on Two occasions including using profanity at us. We are both seniors and even the waiter apologized and said Drake was wrong. I paid the bill and called the police because he yelled at us to get the f**k out. I asked him not to talk to us like that he then said f**k you.Never going back, we don't deserve to be disrespected by anyone. Giving one but It should be zero stars.

Yelp
Garlic Parmesan wing's really were banging. Calamari very good. Everyone who works here is cool Tv situation for games is good but could be better
google avatar

Brent M.

Yelp
The food here was amazing, highly recommend the chicken parmesan sliders! Friendly staff as well, good vibes all around.
google avatar

Kevin C.

Yelp
Delivery and food experience only: This was a low quality pizza experience. Delivery was fine but the food was not. The Grandma pizza was not even brown on the bottom of the pizza or crust. I had to put it back in the oven to make that crunch myself. The cheese practically fell off the pizza (not in a good way like a slimey way) and the tomato sauce was obviously canned. The vodka Penne was also lacking major flavor and nearly bland. I usually don't write scathing review like this if the food was bad but the food was relatively cheap but it makes me disappointed knowing I paid $14 for the pasta and $24 for the Grandma pizza to confirm that I will not likely order from this restaurant again.
google avatar

Charley C.

Yelp
Great food, amazing drinks, impeccable service. Their menu options are amazing. The bartenders are the best, as well.

Yelp
We continue to support Saluggi's. It's a great contribution to the neighborhood. The food is still excellent, and the people who work there are friendly as ever. HOWEVER. We have been loyal customers since the day they opened and the service is still unacceptably slow and disjointed. It takes too long for a server to have first contact with the table. It still takes WAY too long to deliver pre-dinner drinks, which in turn means that it takes too long for the food order to be taken, which parents of small children know is a big problem because unfed kids get hangry, fast. After the food is delivered it's difficult to get the attention of wait staff, which of course is problematic if you need a condiment or missing utensil. The wait staff needs to get in the habit of checking back a couple of minutes after the food is delivered to ask if anything else is needed. (I'm speaking as a former food service industry vet.) The wait staff needs to get into the habit of scanning the room every time they emerge from the kitchen. It's maddening, if you need something or would like to order another round of drinks, when your waiter delivers a meal from the kitchen with tunnel-vision, and leaves the dining room unable to see you waiving to get their attention. Again, this is meant as constructive criticism from a frequent neighborhood customer who has been a loyal supporter since opening day. One star subtracted until service gets its act together.

Yelp
Stopped by here real quick after hitting scars and Prince street on a pizza mission but the other spots had huge lines, glad we ended up here. Pizza was really good they only had cheese pizza at night but it was surprisingly good and for $3.81 it was a great deal. Would return
google avatar

Denise L.

Yelp
Great neighborhood bar with great food and music. Wasn't to busy on a Monday but that's ok with me.
google avatar

Jose O.

Yelp
The service and the televisions are great I can almost dare say best pizza on the Lower East Side.
google avatar

Pablo V.

Yelp
Quick recap: came in here expecting regular bar food. Instead I got incredible food and awesome service. Can't recommend the garlic knot burger sliders enough. This is a chill bar for the most part with banging food. the wings had enough of a kick the feel it and delicious. The garlic knot burger sliders were little heart attacks but totally worth it. Delicious. The fries were better than average. The joint isn't huge but it's more than enough space to spread out and bring a group of friends. It's clean and the service was top notch. Highly recommend this place to grab a bite to go along with that beer.

Mariebelle P.

Yelp
Saluggi's, I hope you're reading this. The food is good, made to order, the drinks are well done. The service however, lacks. It always has. Don't get me wrong, the staff is super friendly, they bust their behinds, but they're always short staffed. Please Saluggi's hire 1-2 'ore people. A little more attentiveness to neighborhood patrons will make a world of a difference. To the patron, def go, their Italian dishes; pizza, Stromboli's, calzones-good to go. But be patient and expect to wait for drinks or a straw.

Josiah S.

Yelp
Amazing service. Food never disappoints, and the vibe is always so friendly. GET THEIR GARLIC KNOTS

Marsha F.

Yelp
I made a terrible mistake by submitting my review with the wrong servers name. The servers name is actually Drake not Gabe. Gabe is a wonderful server with a fabulous attitude.

Will C.

Yelp
Food is decent but beware of price. as it doesnt match whats on their web menu and bartender wasnt helpful.

Yelp
The pasta and chicken Parmesan is the best! Saucy and cheesy. Garlic bread included. Next time I'll take a picture. I always order
