"The massive slices at Salvation spill off both sides of the paper plate they arrive on, and are covered in a thick layer of nicely-browned, stretchy cheese. Eat it with a beer in hand, and you can recreate the experience of dining at their . Stylistically, it falls somewhere between a bar pizza and a New York slice. But realistically, you’ll finish it before you can even think too hard about the difference between the two.  " - Nicolai McCrary

"After 13 years, the Salvation Pizza at 624 West 34th Street has closed. This was the original location for the New Haven-style pizzeria, though its locations in Rock Rose and on Rainey Street remain open." - Erin Russell

Excellent pizza and calzones! The food takes a little longer than I'm comfortable with when I go during lunch, but the quality makes it worth it and it's not totally unreasonable just a little tough when you only have an hour.

I love a good pizza and this place consistently delivers good pizza. I like a crust that is not super thin and so this crust was bordering on a little too thin, but the assortment and variety of topping easily made up for personal preference differences on crust type. I love Salvation's use of asparagus on a pizza! The thin asparagus adds a nice crisp crunch to the pie that is missing in so many others. Try this place out, the food is great and the deck out front is super comfy when the weather is right.

Amazing pizza. Perfectly thin crust, fresh sauce, and the perfect ratio of ingredients/toppings to one another. The outdoor patio is nice for warm evenings and the inside seating is small but comfortable. The beer selection is decent and not too overpriced. I have been here about ten times and my only complaint is that sometimes the waitresses seem a little aloof...but maybe they are just really busy because their pizza is so great!

One of my new favorite pizza places in Austin. This was definitely the best New York style pizza I've had here. It's so fresh and flavorful. It isn't greasy. They have a wide variety, including white pizza. I love #7 but anything on their "top 10" is going to be delicious

We loved the pizza and beer choices. We read a negative review about the pizza being thin crust and not much sauce, And we were sold on trying this place! Exactly the pizza we love. Also, we are vegetarian and made our own, it was amazing! The service was great as well, the young man that waited on us was pleasant and friendly! We will be back👍☺

Even though I am not a pizza person (yes such people do exist), I loved Salvation Pizzas! Their pizzas have a nice crust which is not too doughy, and they are generous with their toppings I have tried a couple of them by now, and have both eaten in the restaurant, as well as done a takeway. The service is friendly and welcoming. They have a garlic base white pizza with artichokes, chicken and something else, I absolutely love that one. There is also a spicy one which is loaded with meat and jalapenos which is quite delicious as well. One of the best pizzas in Austin!

Good thin crust pizza. I've been a few times. Sometimes it takes awhile to get your food, but I don't mind too much because I think of this as a place to eat a longer meal. I enjoy the atmosphere. Outside there are picnic tables on a roofed porch. Inside the lights are dimmed. I've had the bruschetta twice. Once it was alright, the other time is was fantastic. One of my favorite pizza places in town.

One of my top pizza joints to visit in Austin! Their pizza sauce has a very fresh tomato taste and their crust is baked to a perfect crisp. You can taste the quality in their food and you won't get an overly greasy pizza. I can't get enough of the pepperoni mushroom. I like visiting during lunch and taking the rest of my pizza for dinner! Their service is great, the staff is very friendly at Salvation! Cozy atmosphere with lots of space. You could have a cute date here or just grab a quick beer and a slice!
