THE FOOD IS GREAT! We got the Not So Basic Burger - Ruined (which was a funny way to say adding tomato, lettuce & pickle). The not so secret sauce had a bit of spice which we liked too. & the logo on the bun was a cool surprise. FYI on the potato salad - it does have a stronger egg taste but we loved it. It will be nice once the ordering process improves but if you read the signs the process is pretty clear. The only thing is that we ordered “online” instead of from a table and it took awhile for someone to come out once the food was ready. The seating area outside was great though - if you have the time to be patient, it’s worth trying while they are under construction :)

Been here quite a few times now, and each time has been good. I always expect food to be more pricey at tourist traps, but the burgers are at a reasonable price at about $8 and are tasty. I also enjoyed their bacon potato salad and baked beans; sides run about $4. My daughter loves the Louis dog, which is $5. We always mobile order, and our food has always been ready by the time we get there. Overall it’s a good place to grab a quick bite to eat.

Very tasty Burger, highly customizable. They have online menu and ordering. We order two burgers, both customized to vegetarian. The online ordering allows to either choose default burger or you can select or deselect each ingredient. All the drinks are in can form. I liked the patio sitting, their indoor sitting is still closed due to Covid.

I was there last Friday at 1pm and was CLOSED..Samburger has little profit potential at this outstanding location, the burgers and fries are decent. The service on the other hand is non-existent. No servers or host’s to assist you, just a bell 🛎 to ring if the customer cannot figure out how to order on the internet from their phone. The worst part is they are closed four days a week. I wonder how they can stay in business, this place is huge inside, but all seating is on a tiny porch or in a common area in the back.

I've been following Sam the Cooking Guy since he first came to San Diego more than a dozen years ago. His newest iteration Samburgers makes excellent burgers. Had a Not So Basic with fries, and it was all good. Love the "Sam" logo charred into the top of the bun, which was soft and chewy with just the right bite. The mixed meat patty is very flavorful and the diced onions are an extra flavor addition. The fries were seasoned with salt and a few herbs while being hot and crunchy. Also tried the tater tots that are equally as good. Only complaint is not enough ketchup for the fries!

If you haven't checked out Eats by Sam....you're missing out! This is a new concept by Sam The Cooking Guy that's worth the visit. On this trip we tried the Samburgers...and they were delicious (possibly one of the best burgers I've ever had)! It was a cold and rainy day in San Diego, but the super friendly staff delivered our food right to our car...and did it safely. I live in LA, but will be back...and sample more. Oh yeah.....and get the tater tots (OMG - they were ridiculous)!

Here for 4th of July and was hoping to get a quick meal. If I would’ve known it was gonna take as long as it did I would’ve gone to the cheesecake. Anyway the food itself was good even though I had a plain burger it was delicious. The reason for the two stars is the service. Their is none! You order and pay for it on your phone and an hour later someone brings it to your table and says enjoy. I ordered my burger with everything on it except sriracha and I ended up with a meet and cheese only burger. Well after an hour of waiting for my food, I didn’t care I was just hungry and ate it plain. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Awesome burger and the fries were amazing!!! Over all a really good experience, given covid19, there was outside seating available. The prices were perfect, the scenery is unbelievable but it is San Diego!!!
