The Best Breweries In Boston

"There are plenty of reasons why people sh*t on Sam Adams, and we’re sympathetic to most of them: the most famous Boston brewery isn’t even really a Boston brewery (the vast majority of Sam Adams beer is brewed in either Pennsylvania or Ohio); its beer has mostly been left behind by smaller breweries who aren’t afraid to be more experimental; if you go to their “research and development” facility in JP, you’ll likely be the only person there who hasn’t been trying out their Boston accent on the Freedom Trail all weekend; and hell, the guy on the front of the bottle isn’t even Sam Adams (it’s Paul Revere). We get all that...but we also still love the original Boston Lager, and the outdoor space with picnic tables, greenery, and a bring-your-own-food policy is a perfectly fine place to spend an afternoon. There aren’t a lot of reasons to come here instead of Turtle Swamp down the street, but almost any brewery is a great place to be, and Sam Adams is no exception." - dan secatore

We did the brewery tour. Our tour guide, Taylor was absolutely incredible, she was enthusiastic, really sweet and very informative about the history as well as the beers. I’ll be honest my favorite part was at the end in the barrel room, the beer that they served us was called “The Vixen” and it was an absolutely incredible beer, rich and creamy. I wish I could get my hands on it outside of the brewery however, for now you’re only able to get that drink in that room, only on the tour.

Google
Did the tour, because why not!?! Sam Adams is probably the best mass produced "craft" beer on the market. And there are so many varieties that aren't distributed!! The location is awesome, tucked back into a Jamaica Plain neighborhood occupying and old brewery. The facility is awesome!! The beers are solid and the tour was really cool. Out tour guide (rhymes with coffee) was awesome!! The perfect blend of humor and history!! Afterwards, we enjoyed a couple of pints outside and listened to some live music. It was a great time!!🍻

Google
This brewery blew my mind. So many great-tasting beers on tap. Some you can't get anywhere else besides the actual brewery. I tried just about every beer they had on hand. Alexis was my beer tender and she was awesome. I was ecstatic they had the Derrick White Ale on tap as I'm a big Celtics fan and love the collaboration together. They had a nice shop to buy beers or merch to take home with you. They have a great indoor seating area as well as a nice outdoor area where you can sit your pup. They also serve food! Definitely one of my favorite spots ive been to in a while.

Google
Ever year Since 2014, I have been going to Boston and visiting Sam Adams, sometimes twice a year. Taking friends up to catch a RedSox game wasn’t complete without stopping at the brewery. ( The good old days were when Doyle's was open and jason drove the Trolley/Bus then took you on a tour of the city, “Doyle’s 💪🏼”) However in September of 2023 we showed up to a place that was unrecognizable, compared the Red-White & Blue Sam Adams of old, this place was literally all Rainbow Flags complete with a chalkboard listing how it is a safe space and the things that will not be tolerated. Not only have they ruined the atmosphere but the Flagship beer Boston Lager has been "remastered", the very beer that started the craft brewing craze went through a "Transition". They should change the name to Samantha Adams.

Google
The bar was great with good service. Loved the beers!! Just wish they had more food other than pretzels. It was an amazing tour!! Dylan ( i think that was his name, the guy that looks like Evan Peters) was a great tour guide with awesome jokes. Definitely would recommend this!!

Google
Where do I start? If I could give this a 10 star a review, I would. Tours: informative and engaging, covers a surprising range of beers and the included freebies are generous. Tour guides can answer and beer related questions you may have. Staff: Friendly and extremely helpful. Went above and beyond to accommodate my wife and her beer/lactose intolerance with adapted tasting sessions for the barrel aged tasting session. Beer: delicious, obviously. Food: great range of bar style snack food. The beer cheese dip is TO DIE FOR. Aamazing people, amazing brewery.

Google
Good brewery tour, fairly standard, but it is nice they give you a few different samples as you're walking through the tour instead of as a flight at the end. The front desk folks were super friendly and accommodating when we arrived a few minutes late, and we appreciated their understanding. We paid for the extra sample in the basement at the end, and that was a fun way to end the tour. The gift shop had fun and tempting products as well.

Google
The Beyond the Brewery tour was awesome! 5/5! Our tour guide Zafi was kind, funny, and very knowledgeable. The tour was very informative and the beer amazing.

Yelp
I will start off with saying that we have visited almost all of the major breweries in the US and this is probably our favorite! Its a little hidden gem. We were able to try 3 beers while on the tour - they picked the flavors- as they walked us through and told us the history of the brewery and their processes. We also paid a little bit extra to get a taste of a special brew that had been aging in their basement. My husband really loved this! Our tickets to the tour were also labels from some of the beer bottles which was a neat touch. We stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon so it was not too busy- only 2 other couples on our tour in June- but I know it can get quite busy. It's not a huge parking lot either. Overall, its a cool experience and I would go back if we ever get back to Boston again just to try some of their unique flavors they experiment with!

Yelp
Visited the Samuel Adams brewery in Jamaica Plain, but did not do their tour as I did not book ahead. Instead, I just opted to visit their taproom, which is pretty standard. The taproom menu has flights in addition to pints. While Samuel Adams is a well-known craft beer brand, I wanted to try something that I could in stores. Thus, I tried their oyster stout which is brewed with Cape Cod oysters as I have never had a beer brewed with seafood before. The taproom was a bit crowded, so I got out of there after downing my beer. It is intended for groups as it has communal tables and games to play. There is even a shuffleboard table. If you intend to tour the brewery, I would recommend booking ahead of time on their website. Though if you just want a beer, the taproom is a decent spot. But it does seem a little out of the way to go to Jamaica Plain just for a beer.
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely a cool spot with upstair seating. Lots of space downstairs. Staff is a bit slower on the drinks. I got their only hazy which was standard.

Yelp
This is a great brewery to stop by right in the heart of the city. It is completely free and no cover charge. We came on a Saturday night and they had many seating options. I am not a huge fan of beer but they did have hard seltzer available. The DJ playing on July 5th was great and had amazing hits lined up. Highly recommend this place for after work drinks or to just catch up with friends.

Yelp
Super fun tour -- learn a lot while drinking beer: what's not to like?! Delaney and Eric are the best. Try to get them.

Yelp
I'm guessing most of the 5 star reviews are written after several of their libations as there wasn't really anything 5 star about our visit. Not in the nicest part of town, but thankfully there is plenty of off street parking. We got a free contact high when we got out of the truck which was great for the wife and I but the kids didn't love the smell. There seems to be 2 sides to this establishment; the tours and the tap room and they come complete with separate entrances. Because we were in beantown for a futsal match for my son we couldn't take the tour (21+) so we just checked out the food and of course, the brews. Been drinking Sam since before I could legally buy it because I've never been a fan of domestic lagers. Figured I had to finally check this place out. Unlike most breweries that distribute ubiquitously, the only way to get any special brews here is on the tour. Most others I've been to offer brewery only stuff right in the taproom but unfortunately we were relegated to drink the same stuff I can buy on the shelf at my local packie. I was thankful that the at least offered a side pull to add some character to an otherwise standard brew. The beers were as good as expected. Sam Adams doesn't tend to put out anything that could be construed as off-putting which is great because everything is at least serviceable. The food was basic and edible but nothing to make a trip here for. I was glad they had food, so I'm not complaining by any means. The cookies were good, but eat them right as they come out as once they get cold they turn to granite. Service was decent until when I went to close our tab and an off duty employee actually cut me in line. I understand that most brewery lines get kinda blurred sometimes but this was a clear as day cut me situation and the fact that it was an employee left me quite disappointed. I don't plan to go back, but if I ever did it would be for the tour so I could at least try some specialty brews and I would plan to grab dinner somewhere else.

Yelp
Definitely a must visit when in Boston! We booked the 2nd tier-Beyond the brewhouse tour. We mostly booked this tour since the timings worked out best for our schedule. Even then we were running a little late and they were kind enough to move us to the next tour. This tour is $25 per person, but they do have a cheaper option for $10 per person. Both are 45 min long tours, but you get to see a few more rooms(including ones in a different building) and get to taste a few extra beers with the 2nd tier tour option. The sour beer tasted the best to me since it was very unique. They also give you a free shot glass at the end of the tour that you can wrap and take with you! The brewery itself and the explanations were a bit small, but overall, it was a very fun experience!!

Yelp
When in Boston, stop in to get a tour of Sam Adams Boston Brewery. For $25, we received education on the history of the brewery and the making of beer. Jacob was a great tour guide who was knowledgeable and entertaining. We visited 3 areas and were able to drink a sample of beer in each place. My fav was the barrel vault where we tasted a rather potent beer that was quite delicious. We also got to keep the glass. Beyond the tour, the place has a nice tap room with large picnic tables. There are some food options and we opted for the crustinis. There is an outdoor patio with some roof coverage but it was raining on our visit so not a ton of people enjoying the outdoors. Nice stop. I'm glad we made this visit.

Yelp
While the area that the brewery is in did not appear to be the best area, once there it was a nice welcoming spot. We had made reservations for a tour that included 4 samples and as a bonus that we did not know, we go to keep the glass. After the tour we decided we wanted to try some of the beer. Most on the list is only available at this location. It was fun to try a few and enjoy some pretzels as well.

Yelp
I'm not a huge beer person, but this was still a great place to hang out at. There's a huge list of beers, but there's a hard seltzer you can get if you're not a beer person like me. There were rows of giant long tables, great for group outings. There's also other seating, and a lot of it (they have a 1st and 2nd floor). I thought the food was okay, I think the best thing there was definitely the pizza. It was surprisingly doughy for looking like it was thin crust. I highly recommend the hot honey pepperoni. It may be sticky, but it was delicious.

Yelp
Yes, Samuel Adams is very much corporate beer. But past experience as well as recent experience with their beers I realize there are way more corporate beers out there that are lackluster , bland and have no TLC applied to it's creation compared to Samuel Adams. I revisited their flagship Boston Lager and which confirmed my opinion above on this. Flavors for the Boston Lager to experience are crisp, malty and herbaceous. The beer is light bodied and refreshing which makes a very nice pairing during the hot summer months or if your preference is for lighter bodied beers.

Yelp
Tour was good. I mainly came for the history part of it. They let you take pictures/videos throughout which I appreciate. Enjoyed the tastings that accompanied the tour. "No matter how big we get, we'll always brew our beer like we're still the smallest brewery in America." --Jim Koch, Founder of Boston Beer Company In 1984, Jim Koch discovered his great-great grandfather's recipe for Louis Koch Lager in his father's attic (changing the name to Samuel Adams Boston Lager.) Jim Koch, along with a group of partners, decided to enter the brewing industry, marking the birth of the Boston Beer Company. In April 1985, it makes its debut in 35 bars/restaurants in Boston, MA. June 1st, 1985, it is voted "Best Beer in America" at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver. The Boston Brewery opened in 1987. There are two other breweries, located in Cincinnati, Ohio and Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. Samuel Adams was a prominent figure during the American Revolution. Samuel Adams also had ties to the brewing industry in his family. The name was a perfect match for a company aiming to revolutionize American brewing.

Yelp
The tour was so much fun. Our tour guide was great and I learned a lot. I was impressed by all the fun facts and information that I didn't know before. That, coupled with some really solid samples made the whole experience a great time. After the tour, we had time to relax in the brewery with another beer and some snacks from their food menu. The food menu is small but it does the trick. They have lots of board games for you to use while you're there if that's your style.
google avatar

Yelp
We always have to check out the brewery where it originated from, so a stop at Sam Adams was a must. Make sure you come to this brewery in Jamaica Plains and NOT the taproom, so you could get the actual tour. When you first arrive, it's situated in an unassuming neighborhood so don't be surprised. There is a parking lot, so parking wasn't an issue if you're driving. There was outdoor and indoor space for people to enjoy their beers as well. We started off with the Beyond the Brewhouse tour for $25 per person. I thought it was clever how they used the beer label as your ticket. This tour included 3 samples of beer as we were lead into 3 different rooms learning all about beer. In the end, you even get to keep a Sam Adams glass as a souvenir, so that was neat. Our guide was funny and enjoyable despite how much information was thrown at us. Great activity to check out while enjoying some beer.

Yelp
My friends and I came in on a Thursday night it was quiet and not too busy. The beer selections were great always recommend getting a flight. The food was ok I got bbq sliders, good for bar food. There were table games for you to grab and play at your table. They had both indoor and outdoor seating but it was too cold to sit outside. At the end of the night we were some of the last ones to leave and the Staff was kind enough to reopen the souvenir store which I thought was very sweet. All in all place was cool and I would recommend checking out if you're in the area.

Yelp
The tour of the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery was one of the activities I looked forward to most when visiting Boston, and it did not disappoint. They offer a variety of tours ranging from $10 to $50, as well as group tours. My friends and I opted for the $10 Sam Signature Experience, and it was fantastic. For $10, you get a few beer tastings, which was definitely enough to get me tipsy. My group was paired with several other groups, totaling maybe 15 people, with one tour guide. Despite the group being large, it felt immersive and engaging. The tour guide was phenomenal. He was very knowledgeable about the history and operations of the brewery and made us laugh quite a few times. It was my first time touring a brewery, and I very much enjoyed the experience. I highly recommend this tour for those looking for unique activities to do in Boston!

Yelp
Great tour with a great guide! We hopped on the Sam's Signature Experience Tour as part of our GoCity ticket and loved learning about the history of Samuel Adams and the R&D Brews. These are also available for purchase in the tap room and gift shop. On game days at home, they also have $2 Fenway Franks! Service was great and we were even able to take our leftover beer in a plastic cup on the tour with us if we weren't able to finish up before it began. Awesome experience!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for the sensory tour. Which itself was super cool and an interesting experience! The problem was is the tickets tell you to arrive at 1045. They don't open until 1100ish....They didn't actually open until 1105 today. Then the tour could only go to 1130...given time. So we were shorted on time and overall experience. I would recommend not booking the first tour of the day. They don't open on time! The actual place had a great ambiance and we walked away with some great brewery only brews and some clothes. That was a great part. Didn't try the food. Had lunch plans else where.
google avatar

Joseph B.

Yelp
Finally made it on this tour. Our tour guide Joel was amazing. Haven't had a more knowledgeable and professional tour guide in a while. I highly recommend this tour.
google avatar

Lynn N.

Yelp
Met up with a friend to do the $10 brewery tour and it was a good time! We got some info about the ingredients and process to brew beers and got to try three beers- the cold snap, the Boston lager, and an experimental beer. They gave us a taster glass which was a nice little souvenir. Afterwards we went to the taproom and got a flight to taste some other brews and have a little snack and we had a great time. The tour wasn't as thorough as some other tours I've been on but this site is smaller than much others (they admit this on their tour) but was still some good info and honestly, I'm more likely to order a Sam Adams in the future now!
google avatar

Daniel B.

Yelp
A must-do in Boston, for sure. Our Sam Adams Experience was spectacular - with the beer flowing, the facts and insights into the manufacturing being shared in an interesting way with just the right amount of humor, and the overall nature of the tour being top notch. Shoutout to Alec and Taylor for making this a memorable and fun experience!
google avatar

Robert T.

Yelp
De-mastered Boston lager is absolute garbage compared to the traditional Boston lager that Samuel Adams made their name with over the decades. Shocking that some genius within the company thought that making Boston Lager taste weaker, cheaper and nastier they could fool the public into drinking it by merely calling it remastered. Love the brewery the food the other beers just extremely disappointed, shocked, and appalled that they de-mastered that gorgeous Boston lager that many of us enjoyed for decades before some pencil neck decided to save a few dollars on ingredients and cheapen that beautiful beer.
google avatar

Brieana A.

Yelp
The Sam Adams brewery tour was tasty and educational. We did the Beyond the Brewhouse tour- the guide provided the history of the brewery and information on their experimental beers. The facility is clean & air conditioned - not too much walking. There are bathroom facilities. The tours start on time so be sure to check in at the gift shop early. Right across from the gift shop, there is a tasting room with beers you have seen elsewhere and some you will only see at the Jamaica Plain location. This was an easy place to get to on the Orange Line T from Boston- much more affordable than an Uber. A quick walk from the drop off through a residential neighborhood, and you are there. If you are doing the tour, book in advance so you get the tour you want!

Yelp
Nice, friendly staff; cool venue with diverse seating options. Would be great for groups. Tours are available as well as a gift shop. Their beer cheese is quite tasty, and I love that they offer flights.

Yelp
Great atmosphere to enjoy some unique beers and good games and tours ... bartender was very helpful on selections

Yelp
The tourist of tourist places in JP. You can always spot an out of towner at Green Street because they're holding a Sam Adams bag

Yelp
We did not eat . Went on tour . The presentation was fabulous. Served a flat to toast drinks Was a nice rainy day.

Yelp
Great tour! We were excited to check out this brewery and learn more about Sam Adams beer on their tour. The brewery itself isn't very large but the tour is highly informative and fun. Includes in the basic tour are three small pours and I found them all delicious (my favorite was the doublebock). One of the people I came with did the tour option that included a tasting right out of the barrel (11.7%!). They've got a nice tasting room and gift shop as well. You'll have a good time.
google avatar

Eugene A.

Yelp
Was a little disappointed in this tour. I've done other brewery tours and they tour you through much more interesting sections to the brewery and breweries by process. This tour was limited to looking at a few kettles while the guide explained the process. From there, we moved into a room with long table and did a beer tasting. The latest beers were described and then we were dumped into the gift shop. It was only $11 so I didn't feel cheated, just a bit meh. Was really hoping for a lot more from the pioneers in craft brewing.
google avatar

Nikki J.

Yelp
Came for a tour, stayed for the brewery. We did the tour where you visit 3 rooms and get 3 samples. The tour was a typical brewery tour, and we got to learn a few things about beer in general and Sam Adams history. Our tour guide was hilarious, and he made the tour so fun! After the tour, we went to the brewery to try some other flavors. Sadly, they were out of some of the sours I would have tried so I did a make your own flight. My faves were the hibiscus and passion fruit goses.
google avatar

Merilou B.

Yelp
For the price you're paying, these tours are 110% worth it! We paid for the $10 45 minute tour that consisted of trying 3 of their beers. The tour guide was nice and shared a lot of fun, interesting facts. If you sped walked through the tour it would feel pretty short but the amount of history, facts, and tasting we experienced made it worth it. They pour pitchers at the end to just share and try to finish with the rest of the tour group, so you honestly get a good amount of beer! Would want to see their other tour options to compare (-:

Andrew W.

Yelp
Wonderful place to visit if you are coming to Boston for the weekend. Very close to the orange line, great atmosphere and drinks, and the tour was fun.
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
This was one exceptional brewery tour. I've visited Sam Adams in the past, but never took the tour. Don't let the online ticketing system fool you - I checked online for availability and there appeared to be nothing open, however, when we arrived we were told that the scheduled 4:30 PM tour still had tickets left. For $10, you get a full 45 minute group tour with not one, not two, but THREE different flavors of beer to try. By far the only brewery with such a great value, and the information provided was interesting. Jake, our tour guide, allowed us to ask questions during various parts of the tour. We even got to pour our own beer from pitchers in the tasting room. We got to keep the glass, too. At the end of the tour, we were led into the gift shop where we could wrap up our glasses in brown wrapping paper to prevent breakage in travel. These guys thought of everything! The convenience and kindness of the staff made me really happy. Beer can be purchased to-go from the gift shop. Prices in the gift shop were reasonable and they had a good selection of merch. If you're unable to snag any of the other more expensive tours, the $10 standard tour is well worth it!
google avatar

Jamie L.

Yelp
This review is more for the tour than the brewery. It was my first time going on a tour. I think it's the traditional tour but there are other tours. This one we started with drinking summer ale while the guide talked about how they brew and the types of beer. The second half we sat in a room and tried two more lagers. Depending on who sat near you, you got more or less of the pitcher of beer. We sat near people who didn't care to drink much so we got more haha Afterwards, we went to the main brewery part and ordered a different beer. I tried their new product the vinified Sauvignon Blanc. It was decent. Not sure if I would get it again but it was nice to try one. Overall, big fan of the tour and would love to do it again!
google avatar

Lily S.

Yelp
We signed up for the VIP tour, which offered a glimpse into the nano-brewery & a pint of a limited-edition, off the market porter. What more could a freshly 21 year-old ask for? Overall, it was a great way to try some fun beers, and expand my brewski knowledge. A star lost because the gal who gave us our tickets was less than friendly, and our tour guide seemed ready to clock-out.
google avatar

Frank F.

Yelp
Great place to hang out and try a new cold craft beer, the tap room has a good selection of brews and offers indoor and outdoor seating. They offer small tours for a low cost. There is a gift shop with a lot of souvenirs and plenty of staff on hand. Parking is available and free.
google avatar

Aprille C.

Yelp
I love a factory tour even if I don't like beer. I'm kinda disappointed in the tour. It really was more of a tasting than a tour. Cost was $10/per person. We got a glass of beer first thing. My husband drank & I did not. We got to see one room. Pat was a terrific guide and told us lots of stuff about making the beer and answered all our questions. Then we went into the tasting room where we all sat at long tables and were able to try two different kinds of beer. He did. I tried one taste. Yuck! It was fun. But if you go, know that it's more of a tasting and less of a tour.
google avatar

Julia M.

Yelp
We had a great time during our visit to the brewery! We started off with a quick tour, which included a tasting portion afterwards. Our tour guide was both hilarious, personable, and super informative. I learned so much about the brewing process and how to taste different components of beer! I really enjoyed the information, and tasting both the Boston Lager and 26.2 Brew (a special edition for the Boston Marathon). Afterwards, we hung out on the outdoor patio and sampled a few additional beers. On a Monday night, there was a moderate crowd and live music, but nothing so loud we couldn't have a conversation outside. The vibe was very laid back and a relaxing way to end the day. Will definitely visit again on future trips to Boston!

Yelp
Even after going to university in Boston and then spending over a year here for work, I only now managed to find the time to get to the magnificent Samuel Adams Brewery for the tour. We had a fantastic tour guide who enthusiastically showed us her love of beer and her love of Sam Adams. And yes, there was a lot of beer to be consumed on the tour! Great to be able to taste something that's pre-release and "coming soon!" Don't miss this when you come to Boston. [Review 18608 overall - 1189 in Massachusetts - 2130 of 2022.]

Yelp
Totally a cool tour!! I did the 25 dollar tour, and it came with a free souvenir glass at the end. Quite a neat little piece of history regarding Sam Adams brewing. Hearing their journey and what they utilize the location for now was interesting. Three samples of beer during the tour, and the taproom at the end to taste more is fantastic! The bar tenders were fast and friendly. I had the pretzel and had a hard time picking what would go good with it. Ultimately they had their Brick Red on tap, so I had two of those and a flight to taste more variety's. I am definitely sad that I am not a local, which on second thought maybe is probably a good thing..... but I love all of the beers Sam Adams makes but are only available locally. Again 10/10 would go back when I have friends that want to go. Just a neat experience overall!

Yelp
Joel!! Joel is a hidden talent in this perfection of a brewery where they brew healthy happy different rich beer! Joel had a finesse that made this beer awesome to drink and to fall in love with the process of making greatness!! Like our marriage. I digress... here is Joel (watch the video!!!!)

Yelp
We went on the 10$ tour they squeezed us in at the last minute. Very accommodating. The tour was great the beer was great and the vibes were amazing . The outdoor patio was perfect for the rain so we could hangout at the bar . Can't wait for cold snap!

Yelp
Couldn't take a trip to Boston without visiting this brewery! I don't drink Sam Adams on the regular, but I do love their Octoberfest. We had bought a GoCity pass and a feature of the pass was a tour of the brewery. We just missed the 1130 tour so we had to wait for the following tour at 1230. When we checked in for the tour, the rep told us they would not honor our free entry for the tour, which was a bummer. They did give us a couple of pint glasses and a discount in the gift shop. Since we had some time to kill, we checked out the brewery store first. Store has all kinds of gear to purchase, along with beer. Once we finished, we jetted over to the brewery taproom. The taproom was set up nicely and wasn't too crowded at all. I decided on a flight so I could try selections that I probably wouldn't find here in San Antonio. The Kosmic Crafted was the winner and the Jack-O Pumpkin Ale was the runner up. After downing our beer, it was tour time. The tour was essentially two rooms, and was lead by Jacob and Kelsi. The tour was educational but witty at the same time, and we also got some free beer along the way! With a nice buzz going, it was time to head to Fenway Park for the game. Highly recommend checking this place out if your find yourself in Boston. Also they do have a second taproom near Faneuil Hall. P.S. There is also an outdoor seating area but it was raining so we sat inside.

Yelp
I've been on a number of brewery tours and this one was much better than expected. With Sam Adams' notoriety, I expected this to have more of a commercialized feel, but this was an intimate and extremely informative tour. I'd say I learned the most about the beer-making process and the science that goes into brewing here. The roughly 45-minute experience takes you through two stops in the brewery and the tour includes 3 roughly 4 ounce beers. My wife and I stopped in the brew pub before the tour for a snack. They partner with a local vendor for salsa, of which we got a generous portion and was very tasty. The soft pretzels were good too. We had no trouble finding parking in the lot outside on a late Sunday afternoon, but it seems like there's plenty of street parking nearby if you can't get in the lot.

Yelp
Yesterday, my better half and I decided to hit Boston! One of the stops we did was Sam Adam's Brewery. Yes, it's a little outside downtown but still! The place has a bar with inside and outside seating that is trendy and clean. The menu is full of options of Sam Adam's flavors that are available nowhere else. The serving sizes are big too! We signed up for a basic tour. The tour is about a hour. The tour guide was amazing! Best brewery tour I've had to date! He was knowledgeable, very entertaining, and he really kept the group engaged. With the tour you get 3 flight sized samples. We got summer ale, their flagship lager, and a key lime/strawberry experimental beer. The first 2 were great but the 3rd didn't sit with us well. They honestly want your feedback to see if they will let progress to main production. Overall, I have nothing but great things to say about this brewery! If you are in Boston, check them out!!!

Yelp
The tour was fantastic and the beer just as spectacular. I seem to fancy the dark beers from this company as they have great body. The layout of the brewery is impressive and the employees are splendid, informative and polite. I recommend this tour to anyone into good beer.
