I started following Samarai Sombrero Sushi on Instagram originally. At the time they were making their sushi via food truck on 22nd/Pantano area. It was my 1st encounter. Gabby provided such friendly service, I felt I had known her for years! We typically order 4-5 rolls between my husband and myself, but when we opened our takeout they were huge, delicious and succulent! I tend to be a purist when it comes to cream cheese in my sushi and Gabby was quick to offer making them to my taste and preference. What a novel idea! Now they have a brick and mortar at American Eat which is a more convenient location for us.
Before, our go to rolls are usually spicy tuna, negihama etc. but we thoroughly enjoy my now go to Ceviche roll. The fusion of Mexican influences contribute to the flavors Samarai Sombrero Sushi is well known for. They are truly on a mission to introduce themselves as true contenders of sushi fusion. The Mexican, La Frida, The Avocado to the simple Spicy Cali all done to perfection, attractively plated as well as providing slightly larger than most average sushi rolls! You definitely get your money’s worth here.
Gabby and Jesus are the most charismatic and hospitable restauranteurs you’ll ever meet, and so deserving of your patronage. I HIGHLY recommend you try Samarai Sombrero Sushi they really aim to please and keep you coming time and time again! I really love these two and all their efforts to earn my business.
