A family-run fixture since 2005 where Fort Worth Magazine has praised the authentic, time-warp charm and charcoal-grilled barbecue short ribs. Expect banchan that changes with the seasons and the option to grill at the table or let the kitchen sizzle.

Came across this place from a foodies group. Place was a bit outdated. Server was nice but there was only one so, there was some wait. We ordered the Korean Seafood Pancake with Jalapeños (Flavor was good but it would have been great if it was crispy. The bottom was very soggy. The dipping sauce was also too salty for me), Boiled Hot Spicy Beef Soup with Vegetables (Very disappointing. Broth was good but it only had one tiny dime size piece of beef), LA Galbi (Flavor was good but keep in mind that the regular size is SMALL).

I’ve been coming here for years, even before COVID, and it’s by far my favorite Korean restaurant in Fort Worth. The spicy bulgogi is my go-to every time, and the attentive service and authentic flavors never disappoint. A true hidden gem that’s absolutely worth trying!

Google
Samwon is amazing Korean food. We have been visiting this restaurant for years and we are never disappointed. The Jungol’s are amazing as are the bbq tables. Everything we have ordered here has been fantastic. The lemon tea is amazing! The kimchi jun (spicy pancake) and the Kimbap roll

Google
This spot is a once a week lunchtime visit if you're 15-30 minute drive away from Samwon Garden. Great prices, good food, and quick service. I prefer this as a lunch spot, but it's dinner options are great. I recommend an app and the Lunchbox deal at lunchtime. Staff is great and it's super clean. BIG fan.

Google
It's a place where you will taste the most authentic Korean dishes. I went there on Thursday night with my wife and tried Tofu Soup and Cold Noodle with Fried Squids as a appetiser. The foods were served with 7 side dishes called Ban-Chan, and everything tasted so great.

Google
I had the Dolsot Bibimbop and L.A. Galbi along with the seafood pancake and Steamed dumplings!! It was very delicious!! I definitely recommend

Google
I have been coming to this place for 7+ years! The owners and staff are so kind. The food is excellent! I highly recommend coming here. Eating at Samwon makes you feels right at home.

Google
SO GOOD! the staff was nice and super friendly, especially with regulars! I got the seafood pancake and kimchi bibimbap and they were good! The hot stone bowl is the way to go if you're going to order the bibimbap and def bring friends if you're ordering the pancake as it's pretty big. The small side dishes were also amazing, my favorite being the fish cakes. 100% will come back again 😁

Yelp
Authentic Korean food in Fort Worth. We've been coming here for years. Great menu selection and outstanding food! The Banchan changes regularly and is served with your meal. Home made kimchi is amazing. This isn't fast food, but it is fresh food. But waiting 10-15 minutes for your entree is well worth it!

Yelp
I really like that this place is just a couple of minutes from my house. I haven't been in a while so it was nice to be able to go with my friend. There is always a place to sit. It's not too loud inside so you can definitely hear your conversation. I usually go for the beef spare rib, the food is always really good and amazing. You get several sides to go along with your meal. I try to go at least once a month, but I would like to go more.

Yelp
This is the first Korean restaurant I have been to in DFW and my wife's first ever Korean experience. All of the food was really good in the atmosphere felt like being in a family member's house. All of the food was well seasoned, but not too pungent. I really enjoyed the fresh kimchi.
google avatar

Yelp
My foodie group disappointed me on this one. But do go for the Korean ribs, those were a hit at the table. Also the sides are Not unlimited. But I can say it's the best or only Korean in the area if you craving!

Yelp
We are still getting the sausage jungol because it is just that good! Get it and you will not be disappointed. All of the accompanying sides are tasty and fun! Now you also need to try the kimchi jun (spicy tasty pancake) and Kimbap roll. Our server was fantastic as always!

Yelp
This place is a gem. Simple place, great food, nice staff, decent portion-size. The Kim chi's are complimentary & you can get refills. We loved all the Kim chi's & savored every bite! Both the bimbop & spicy pork bulgogi were so tasty & tender. Loved the crispy rice in the bimbop cast iron bowl. The space is nicely decorated in Korean theme & spacious.

Yelp
A hidden gem in plain sight! Very authentic Korean restaurant. The servers were very friendly and helped with the menu. My husband and I shared 2 large Korean BBQ plates and it came with all the little sides. We also order separately kimchi stew and the kimchi pancake. Everything was so delicious! The ambiance was very homey and comfortable. We will def be coming back soon!

Yelp
Sam Won Garden is my local Korean Restaurant, hearing that the owner is retiring soon is bittersweet. I'll be there every week until the doors close. Thank you!

Yelp
So I was looking for a Korean bbq place for dinner and this place popped up on Google so that's where we ended up. It's a small place in a strip mall, we were greeted immediately as we walked in and the staff was very very friendly and attentive. They do have some tables with Korean bbq grills in the center but I didn't see any Korean bbq options and nobody in the restaurant was using one either I'm not sure what that's about. I ordered the spicy beef bulgoggi and a Korean beer I've never heard of which was kinda like a Heineken, my girlfriend ordered the combo fried rice. The bulgoggi was tasty but seemed to have just as much as onions as it did beef even though I ordered the large and for $17 in my opinion overpriced, the fried rice was a good portion and our meals came with all the usual side dishes which is nice. Overall it's not what I was looking for and it was overpriced but the food was fresh and had food flavor.

James E.

Yelp
food is well priced for the portions. service is quick and very friendly! we're on a first name basis with multiple servers and know their entire life stories. it's a old hole in the wall place probably started in the 80s and it shows, but if you're looking for korean food without having to drive to dallas this is it. not picky eater friendly.
google avatar

Trinh N.

Yelp
The food is no longer great! We ordered Gabi ribs and bulgogi and they were sour, not sure if they change chef but will not come back.
google avatar

Joonzette N.

Yelp
This is my new favorite place! Great food, prices are decent, friendly staff. The jjigae is my favorite and they give plenty of delicious side dishes. I'm always excited to come here while in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Friendly staff. Bad food. But I guess I shouldn't have expected better Korean food in Fort worth. You're better off just driving the extra time to go to Carrollton or even Dallas for better Korean food. The only decent dish we ordered was a galbi tang. But no Korean restaurant should make a bad galbi tang. The waitress was friendly. Most of the customers seemed to be regulars. And not Korean.

Yelp
Tasty! Tried to pop in for lunch a few months ago and they were slammed so I left not having much time. Just met a coworker here today and they were MUCH slower. Friendly service although only 1 waitress really for the entire place so could be problematic if busier. We both ordered the lunch bento box was pretty solid amt of food for the money. We got beef bulgogi and spicy chicken and both boxes were demolished in short order. Not a soup person so left that untouched. What probably stole the show though was the kimchi pancake as it was amazing. Will def be back again!

Yelp
This is hands down the best place to have a good meal and be well taken care of! Everything is fresh! The spicy Bulgogi is my favorite! Miso soup is so good! The service is amazing and it's the perfect spot for a quiet date night! Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Best and most authentic Korean food in Fort Worth! It is owned by a father, mother, and daughter who are so kind! They put their heart into their work, and make the extra effort to not change any recipe to keep it authentic! Their sides are amazing and I LOVE their bibimbap, japchae, and soon tofu soup so much! I've been back many times and have always had a great experience! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Definitely one of my favorite places UPDATE: I have now been 6 times since finding it in November...still amazing and will be here many more times!! The owners were so kind and gave us so much fish cakes because we loved it and asked for more! I brought my parents Bc I always rave about this place and they now understand the hype

Yelp
Best Asian food in Fort Worth. Great food, service, and ambiance. My go to place for dinner.

Yelp
The service is fast and friendly and the food is always fresh and delicious. The restaurant is clean and there is plenty of seating. Parking is never a problem as the restaurant is in the corner of a strip-shopping center. Our family's usual order is regular and spicy bulgogi, crispy pork belly, and spicy BBQ chicken bulgogi, along with crispy pan fried dumplings and a seafood & scallion pancake.
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite Korean restaurant in Fort Worth! The banchan is always on point and my go-to is the bibim naengmyeon. Their pancakes are fantastic as well! Service is great and it really captures what a home-cooked meal is. Love the ambiance and I love bringing people to try out this Fort Worth hidden gem.

Yelp
Authentic Korean. I ordered the BeeBimBop without meat and it was a wonderful vegetarian choice. I also sampled the Japchae (sweet potato noodles with veggies) and loved it. Our service was excellent and the restaurant was packed with many other locals enjoying their meals.

Cathy H.

Yelp
Great family owned restaurant with great food. Excellent portion sizes and delicious banchan. My fav is the seafood pancake and the potato banchan.

Yelp
Sam won garden is a go to. I grew up in a Korean household so I am used to authentic Korean food. There is not much of this around Fort Worth so with this being the only option it is relatively good. There are a few dishes that have an odd taste but the samgyupsal, kalbi, and banchan are all delicious. If you want decent Korean food at a great price, this is the place to go.

Yelp
This place always hits the spot. One of the few authentic Asian food places in Fort Worth. Parking is easy to find here. Once I stepped through the front door, I was immediately helped and shown a table to sit. The prices on the menu are all fairly priced - nothing too outrageous. I highly recommend the bibimbap! It's quite filling. The food is served in a hot stone pot which will leave a scar if you accidentally touch it (believe me, I know). On the bright side, the pot ensured my food stayed hot and fresh! If it's not flavorful enough, the meal comes with their special spicy sauce which adds a nice kick to the dish. I believe with every dish they also serve some nice complimentary sides. I have yet to try the bbq and soup, but I wouldn't doubt they're equally good as well.

Yelp
The food is worth going too! The service is good. The panja is more then 2 peoples serving. The shrimp tempura is great!! Its juicy on the inside without being soggy on the outside. The batter is really light, and crunchy. I love their octopus stir fried vegetable noodle. Its huge. The spicy chicken is one of the best. I will be back!

Yelp
An amazing little hide-away for some awesome Korean food. Excellent service and great food. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Best place to get authentic Korean food in Fort Worth. Great food and friendly service! Check it out!

Yelp
Everytime I have eaten here the food has been amazing, this place is definitely one of my go to spots, if your looking for something new to try this is the place to add as number one on your list!

Awesome place super authentic the kimchis and bonchon are excellent this place could make it in Seoul or Los Angeles it's that good
google avatar

Yelp
Really enjoyed our visit here. Something different then the regular old food I eat normally. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
Updating my review again since its been a while, just to say its still one of my favorite places for my Korean food cravings in the area. Seafood pancake!!! I can't say it enough. Def choose this over the kimchi pancake! Dine in or do take out, the food is still delicious either way.

Yelp
I've been going here since 2014 it's always been the spot great food & service. Really great vibe never too busy, even fully packed is a good vibe considering the staff

Yelp
Was in the other night, had been several years since my last visit, and I remembered a calm atmosphere, and good (not the greatest I had had) Korean food. This visit was overall a HUGE disappointment, but the flavor and texture of the Galbi is all that stands between 3 stars and 2 stars (or even 1 star) for this visit. But even after reflecting on the service and food, went back and changed to a 2 star...and they barely deserve that. Start with the good: Galbi - beef was tender, not overcooked, great thickness, well marinated. Probably the very best Galbi I have had, and I do love Korean food. That's all the good...shame. The bad: Service - The hostess was intrusive and rude. She's young, but obviously has not been trained in serving customers and it showed. Waitress was acceptable, but not attentive. And as I ate I got to hear the hostess and waitress talk about family, growing up, living in apartments, and everything else going on in their lives as they were but a few feet away and talking as if no one in restaurant. Surprised owner allows this disruptive behavior on the dining floor. Atmosphere - radio playing too loud...hostess milling around carrying on obtuse conversations with customers...waitress actually told hostess (not quietly) in front of me "will you cover table x, I need to go clean the bathroom"...you damn sure bet I looked to see if she had washed her hands after and as she was serving my food (and yes, it did appear she had). Side dishes - none tasted fresh or inviting, and the kimchee tasted spoiled and flat. Definitely the worst side dishes I have had in a Korean restaurant, and surprising considering the home run hit with the Galbi. Overall, will not be a third visit back to Sam Won, and cannot recommend someone giving it a try. If wanting a true Korean experience, find one of the many places in Dallas and make the drive over...but this is NOT the place for a great Korean food dining experience. Avoid.

Yelp
First of all the service and environment of this place is second to none. The food was out of this world amazing. And the fact that the server/owner hung out with us while the food was being made was the cherry on top.
google avatar

Lexie C.

Yelp
Probably some of the best Korean food I've tried in the Fort Worth area and only 10 minutes away from the TCU campus. We got a nice bowl of yukgaejang (spicy beef noodle soup) and some grilled pork belly too. They also provided plenty of delicious banchan. We were also offered some miso soup (which we did accept) but I think they might've forgotten about it - it's okay though no worries. We still ate plenty! Overall, pretty decently priced and the service was super nice.
google avatar

TJ I.

Yelp
Wow. Unassuming little place with amazing food and a super friendly staff. We got the goon mandoo (fried dumplings) and spicy pork bulgogi and beef bulgogi. They brought out an amazing assortment of kimchi and sides. Everything was amazing. I'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here with a group of friends. They were short staffed so it took some time before they took our orders. Side dishes were decent but the soft tofu soup had very little tofu in it. The taste was mediocre. I wish I had taken a picture of it. The rest of the group enjoyed their food though.
google avatar

Yelp
I was craving kimchi pancake and kimbap so I decided to try this place for Friday's ight dinner. I called in my order to pick up. Ordering by phone was easy. I arrived and the staff were wearing mask and very friendly! I'll be back for in-house dining to try the many side dishes. The kimchi pancake was great and homemade! The kimbap was good with simple ingredients. Overall, great cozy non-fancy spot for korean food!
google avatar

Yelp
Good Korean food outside of Carrollton and definitely one of the gems in Fort Worth. Food is made fresh and the kimchi and sides were flavored well. As a Korean, this is how I gauge Korean restaurants quality of food and this place deserves the 5 stars. Maybe not as "trendy" as carrollton spots but when you're hankering for some Korean food on this side of town, SamWon hits the spot. We had a plethora of food, from samgyupsal, kalbi, spicy pork, and dduk mandoo gook. No complaints. Give this place a try!

Amy R.

Yelp
My husband and I have been coming here for years now. It has been perfection every single time. Our favorite is the spicy Bibimbap and they happily refill our Bachan when we ask. Everything is fresh. We could eat here every day! Don't let the look of the outside of the restaurant turn you away. It's in a strip shopping center. Inside you'll find a kind staff and a clean restaurant. We like to bring family and friends and they agree it's so delicious that they now bring their friends and family.
google avatar

Krista R.

Yelp
Sam Won still remains the BEST Korean restaurant in Fort Worth. I've eaten everything on the menu pretty much in the last 5 years and never been disappointed. If you want to do the kbbq yourself, they only offer 2 that you can do at your table for whatever reason. Good service and a lovely family runs it.

Mina K.

Yelp
This place is authentic! I'm fully Korean and this place is 10000/10. I got the Kalbi Tang and it was perfect. The owner was so kind, I can't recommend this place enough. Definitely coming back with my friends!
google avatar

Lorena H.

Yelp
The only Korean restaurant in the area and the food is so good we don't need anything else, be ready to wait tho, but it's worth it!
google avatar

Linda L.

Yelp
Had to try it. Different. Nothing to exciting. The steamed dumplings were good and fresh.
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
I love all the sides they give you! The potatoes are the best. I always get the bibimbap in the hot stone bowl. Never disappoints!

Alan P.

Yelp
Wonderful food!! Loved it , waitress was so kind and helpful! Everything was just great! Just about to order for tonight!
google avatar

Bobby S.

Yelp
This is probably the best Korean restaurant in/near the McCart Street/I-20 area. Hands down my favorite in Fort Worth. I love their Spicy Pork Bulgogi! A must-have here! It's also the only place I have been served garlic stems as a side for the bulgogi. My wife ordered the chicken teriyaki and said it was very good as well. I eat her at least 1/mo minimum. They also sell fresh kimchi so a great place to buy it from!

H. Y.

Yelp
Food is so great. Leaves you feeling like it's all homemade and from the heart. My husband had the beef bulgogi and I had the seafood soup. Incredible " home cooked" meal. Give them your business, you won't regret it. Hidden gem. Service is good, ambiance is simple
google avatar

Isabelle N.

Yelp
The Korean BBQ wasn't bad, but I've had a lot better in my days. I got a bento box which was the lunch special and you get a good deal for what you get at around $10. You get miso soup, kim bap (Korean-style sushi), jap chae (sweet potato noodles), pickled veggies and Kim Chi, rice, and meat of choice out of bulgogi, pork, chicken. I was craving for more flavor with the bulgogi in all honesty. However, they do have numerous other items on their menu which may be better but I think it's fair to judge a Korean restaurant on by their bulgogi. If you're craving Korean and want a cheap quick lunch that's decent but not phenomenal, stop by here for sure.

Yelp
I can't believe all my years living in Fort Worth I've never heard this place. Apparently they've been open about 17 years I believe. I was craving Korean food but didn't want to drive far to Carrollton. Found this place on Yelp and had to try it. Service was so friendly there. Food took a little long but not at a point to complain about it. The place was busy so we understood. When the food came it was exactly what I pictured and more! I love those Korean sides and that's what we got. There are places that give you sides of course but only about 4 items. This place had 9 if I can remember correctly. The giant bowl of noodle soup was so delicious! We also ordered the spicy pork bulgogi and it was awesome! Love this place! We've added this place to our date night list.
