San Domenico

"When we use the word “classic” to describe this recently renovated restaurant, we are referring to its timeless charm from the almost English-style ambience of its dining rooms to the outdoor tables overlooking an attractive square with public gardens. This setting provides the perfect backdrop for a selection of local and Italian dishes, all prepared simply and without excessive frills and with a focus on flavour and guest satisfaction that avoids modern trends. The extensive wine list offers an array of excellent labels. San Domenico is quite simply a landmark in the history of Italian cuisine!" - Michelin Inspector

Excelent lunch in a warm and family place. Waiters are very nice and food is typical but elaborated enough to make you having a wonderful moment. I strongly recommend it.

We went to this restaurant to get the raviolo with egg yolk. That dish was topped by the gnocchi, which had a sugo that tasted of the sea. The pork secondi was, however, the finest pork dish ever tasted, truly world class. The sommelier worked with us to select a great wine that complemented our meal without being overly expensive.

Outstanding food, wine service/selection, hospitality and atmosphere. Shout out to Francesco and the entire staff that treated us so well. I LOVE this restaurant. From a very well traveled lifetime foodie/wine enthusiast. Bravo. .

Google
Absolutely amazing. Highly recommend the Ravioli that they have trademarked for good reason. Everything was outstanding....the 100 page wine book was daunting but the somm was very helpful

Google
Amazing dining experience. Everything is pretty much amazing, but slightly on the salty side. If I ever did return, if whatever take to drive out here again, I would order the shrimp scampi, and the pork everything else I could live without eating, but not those

Google
beautiful restaurant set by a park. food ranged from good to best; scallop and ravioli were well-executed and i would love to come back for; some others not as memorable but still good. service was excellent. the wine cellar below was expansive, and definitely worth a visit.

Everything was very well executed. From the divertimenti at the beginning (best smoked salmon I’ve ever eaten, by the way), through the dessert, everything was delicious. The goose liver with orange marmalade and cinnamon was amazing. The raviolo was fragrant, and the butter from the Dolomites they used was very flavorful. The prawns and caviar were just so enjoyable. And the crêpes Suzette were a flambé treat at the end of the meal. Loved it all.

Yelp
After binge-watching Anthony Bourdain for days before our trip to Italy, my hubby's homeland, we decided San Domenico was a must. The raviolo, the orange egg yolk oozing out onto the fine china amid truffles and joy made my mouth water with a voracious hunger that I could not explain. I knew I had to have it. Now that I have, I'm sick with longing. Dreaming about it nightly as I envision walking through sleepy Imola and into the Garden of Eden that is this ristorante. The service, a performance art of elegance and reverence. The food, will make you fall in love again even after a shitty year like 2016. The atmosphere, nostalgia for things you never knew you missed. Go to this restaurant. Go with all your heart. Bypass tourist kitsch and have a timeless piece of Italian soul food that will remain in your foodie psyche forever.
