"“Not all heroes wear capes” does not refer to the barista that knows your coffee order. It refers to the green sauce at San Fernando Roasted Chicken. The Peruvian chicken here is good, but throw the sauce into the mix and this chicken might as well have stepped into a phone booth and shape-shifted into a super-power vigilante. We like the classic plates that come with fries and salad, but the sleeper hit here is the arroz con pollo, which you should top with lots of the green sauce." - Aimee Rizzo

I have no idea what my boyfriend ordered us, but he had the seafood version and I had the chicken version. Delicious, and huge portions! The cola tastes like bubble gum and the purple corn drink is fantastic. Will definitely be back!!! Thanks guys, you guys are a new favorite!!

Google
Hands down the best Peruvian in the PNW. The Lomo Saltado is some of the best I’ve ever had outside of South America but the best green sauce hands down!

Google
Food is pretty good. This and the other San Fernando location are probably one of the few places that can get the roasted chicken right, or at least good enough (I'm from Peru). On the other hand, their customer service is pretty inexistent. The lady behind the counter wasn't rude. But she seemed very inexperienced as I had to walk to the counter and ask to basically get any kind of service. Lunch service was also a little slow, although I believe there was only one guy working at the kitchen. So maybe they were just understaffed that day. Still worth waiting for the food.

Google
Big portion. Arroz con mariscos (shrimp, squid, mussels fried rice) and Pollo Saltado were good. Lomo Saltado was not as good, beef was flavorless.

Google
I ordered the lomo saltado and it was very good! It can take about 20 min to wait because the food is freshly prepared which I very much appreciate! The chicha morada also was natural made it delicious 👍 thank you so much! Service was nice too

Google
There's something familiar about the restaurant even though it might be your first time visiting. That's the care and love they pour into their food. 💕 I tried what the locals come here for, in what they do best... And that's their chicken! I ordered the quarter leg meal, but in hindsight it should have been the half portion since it was so good! 😄 The three assortment of sauces brought was a delight, be sure to try them! To pair with the meal, the waitress recommended their mango juice. It was such a perfect combination. 🥭 Thank you San Fernando Roasted Chicken for a delicious Peruvian experience! I'm looking forward to visiting again, perhaps with some friends to help me enjoy the great food! 🐔

Google
Food was good. The person that actually took my order. Was in a really bad mood and over charged me for some type of cookies I got. And when I asked her. She say something completely different. So I got out really fast. I don’t care who you are or how good the food is.. if customer service is not good. Why should I even bother to go back. I don’t recommend this place at all.

Google
This was good juicy chicken and perfectly cooked fries. We were the only ones there but everything was delicious and they brought us a caddy with all the sauces.

Yelp
The food is fantastic. The chicken is my favorite and I always order extra to take home. The choclo with queso is perfect as well. I haven't had other items but I recommend trying the whole menu.

Yelp
This place was overall very good. A lot of food for the money and it tastes great, but a bit on the salty side (which was fine for me!) There is ample parking here but it is a gravel parking lot with tons of pot holes, so low cars, beware! I got the quarter chicken which had a ton of chicken. It was extremely well seasoned. I wasn't asked if I wanted rice and beans or fries and salad and the menu didn't say for the quarter chicken, only the whole chicken. But the rice and beans were very good. I'm pretty sure the rice is with tomato bullion rather than blended tomatoes, but they definitely added other flavors to it. It also came with two charred jalapeños and onions. My husband got the carne pobre. This serving was absolutely gigantic. It doesn't look like a lot of meat, but it truly was. And it was not as charred as it looks. There was actually a mountain of fries under the carne and a huge scoop of white rice under the two eggs. Everything was cooked to perfection (again the meat was salty). The dressing on the salad was really delicious and lettuce was nice and crispy! It also came with a side of 6 or so corn tortillas. The horchata was very good as well. For the interior, there is tons of tvs everywhere, and the booths make me think this place doubled as a club at night or it was previously. The staff was generally very nice but not very attentive (again not a problem, but it may be for some). Would totally recommend!

Yelp
I've wanted to try the Peruvian version of pesto pasta for a while so i was happy to find this place! The place was clean with sparsely placed tables, harsh lighting and generally lacked any warm or ambiance. I think the building was a car show room in a past life. The pasta was good. A bit overcooked and soft for my liking but edible. I really enjoyed the verde. It wasn't basil strong like its Italian cousin and packed a little more spicy heat. The carne asada was fantastic. Five out of five! The salsas were unique and both the green and yellow were great. I would have bought the yellow if they sold it separately. I'd god back for the asada and yellow salsas! Be prepared to use your translator app if you want to interact more than just ordering food and a drink.

Yelp
Any Peruvian will be let down by this place. Food is far from authentic taste and, although, they weren't rude, they failed in their service and brought something that I did not ask for. The place was also much more expensive than I would have expected. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

Michele T.

Yelp
Needed some food before heading to the airport, and this place was close to the rental car return place. We love Peruvian food, so wanted to give it a try. Empty when we arrived at around 3:30pm. So many things we wanted to try, but ended up ordering: 1) Anticuchos - 2 skewers served with corn and potatoes. The hearts were so flavorful. 2) Tallarin Verde w/ beef - love the noodles, and there was so much of it. 3) Carne a la Parilla - I wanted to order Papa a la Huancaina but thought that would be too much food. This dish comes with the Hauncaina sauce on the side, so best of both worlds. The steak was tender and very flavorful. Good with the rice and corn. The sauce, on the other hand, was a bit on the bland side. Decent portion sizes and prices are reasonable. Enjoyed our dishes and wish we could return to try their other dishes.

Wennie H.

Yelp
Not as good as it used to be since the move to the new spot. Everything was sort of just mediocre.

Yelp
El pollo peruano es muy rico! Me gusta mucho. Me gusta las alfajores peruanas pero no me gusta su lomo saltado (no es suave)

Yelp
So so good and not expensive Roast chicken and yucca frita on point! Most def returning soon

Yelp
They are BACK and delicious as ever! They just opened their new location: San Fernando Roasted Chicken 16616 International Blvd SeaTac, WA 98188 Get down there and get your chicken on! Bring cash this week. CC machines coming next week. Official Opening is next week, but they are open now. Typing this with greasy fingers. LOL

Yelp
Parking is terrible! Their parking lot is small, and like everyone in the greater Seattle area, people take up 1.5 spaces for their jalopy like it's a Ferrari. It's not comforting to dine-in when you're worried about your car being towed cause you took the risk parking at an adjacent business. You are better off parking at the Tukwila - International Blvd station, then take the train to Sea-Tac station and walk to the restaurant. Their food is just as good as when the restaurant was previously on Rainier Ave. My friends and I split a whole chicken and fries. Delicious chicken, well seasoned and moist with perfect crisp edge to skin. I ordered a pork tamal for myself, but ended up having to share cause my friends liked it so much. There's a nice salty and bright flavor from the olives in the tamal and the pickled onions on the side. We also ordered ocopa, also delicious with notes of mint and peanut. I should have got an order to-go, so I can sop up the green sauce with bread at home. Would definitely recommend. Except be mindful of parking if you're driving. Also they are stingy about their house made sauce condiments, especially their red sauce that reminds me of peri peri. It's spicy and wonderful with any of their dishes. It's a limited commodity.

Yelp
Friendly staff, DELICIOUS Peruvian cuisine. My husband is originally from Peru so we have tried all the Peruvian restaurants we have come across. This one is by far my favorite as far as the food goes. Give it a try for yourself!

Darrion H.

Yelp
We ordered food to dine in. While waiting I decided to reask for a glass of water since they missed it when I asked for it when I was ordering food. They told me I had to pay for a glass of water because they close at 9. But it's 8:15 pm. Also, why wouldn't they tell us we couldn't dine in. I'll wait until I get my food before I post this, but I doubt I'll ever come back to be told I can't dine in anymore and I now have to pay for water, 45 minutes before closing.

Michelle W.

Yelp
I was so happy that San Fernando's opened up a branch near the airport. Much more convenient for me as I live in Olympia. And definitely worth the drive. I got the chicken, fries, yucca, salad and the papa rellana. All very tasty and the chicken was moist and flavorful. Everyone should go here. I don't want them to go away ever!

Joy M.

Yelp
Had a really great first meal here and so wanted to show some support of this local business. We went here for lunch and ordered a half roasted chicken, lomo saltado, arroz con pollo, and papa rellena, with a side of green sauce. It was a LOT of food--more than enough for four adults--and definitely worth the price. The half roasted chicken was delicious--just a teensy bit dry closer to the bone, but overall really tasty, ESPECIALLY the skin. Do yourself a favor and eat it ;) The meat in the arroz con pollo was rather dry, but the rice was very flavorful, as was the sauce in which the lomo saltado was marinated (I may or may not have really enjoyed the fries that were drenched in the lomo saltado meat sauce). The papa rellena was also a nice surprise, freshly fried, would definitely get it again. But the star of the show was definitely the green sauce! The hint of spicy and tangy flavor just makes you want to chow everything down, and I added that to everything--chicken, rice, fries, salad, you name it. Be sure to ask for an extra side of the green sauce! I'm not sure why other people mentioned poor customer service, as I had an excellent experience. The lady who took our order was very nice, and gave us a huge container of green sauce when I asked. I ordered takeout, and didn't have to wait long for the food, which was all freshly cooked. Would definitely come back again. TL;DR, come check out San Fernando!

Yelp
WOW. OMG. Y'ALL. How have I been living walking-distance from San Fernando for over four years yet have never been there before?? Looks like I have a lot of time to make-up for missing out on this food for so long. My fiancé and I decided to come here for takeout on Saturday based on Yelp reviews and proximity to home. As soon as you walk in, you're hit with the most amazing scents (even with a mask on) and become instantly hungry. Shoutout to the woman behind the counter - she was answering phones, taking orders, serving, bussing tables, taking payments all by herself and was absolutely killin' it! It was pretty busy (a few tables occupied, and lots of people ordering to-go by phone and in-person) and we were told it would be ~30 minutes for the food to be ready. It was definitely worth the wait. Although we wanted to try one of everything, we ordered the 1/2 Roasted Chicken, Chuletas de Cerdo (pork chops with rice and beans), and Arroz con Mariscos (seafood fried rice). The pork chops were incredibly tasty, the seafood rice was full of mussels and other umami deliciousness, and everything paired well together. But the star of the show was the chicken - the skin was crispy, and it was moist and flavorful and my only complaint is that I wish we had ordered a whole chicken instead of half! Overall, I'm thrilled to have finally stopped by this neighborhood gem. Next time - which will be very soon - we're definitely ordering the Papa Rellana, Tamales, and a WHOLE roasted chicken. COVID protocols: marks on the ground to keep people apart from one-another, tables spaced out and some tables "closed" for social distancing, and staff masked and wearing gloves.

Yelp
Noooooooooooo!!!! Why :( we loved this place. Lease tell me it's just temporarily closed and they're moving back in under that apartment building once it's built...

Yelp
I've driven by San Fernando Roasted Chicken far too many times, and finally, did I pay it a visit! Located off of Rainier Avenue, it's easy to get to and is near the exit to I-90. This rundown space doesn't look like much. But the roasted chicken speaks for itself. I've never had Peruvian food before, but from what I tried here, I've become intrigued. It's definitely worth checking out, and by all means, do get what they're most known for, the roasted chicken. We ordered a half chicken meal, which normally comes with fries and a salad, but the employee allowed us to substitute for two other sides at no charge! We instead ordered the plantains and cassava fries, which were both awesome! I mean, I like fries and salad, but the plantains and cassava fries were delicious sides. The plantains were sweet, kind of like a dessert as it was glazed from the cook. And the cassava fries were lightly battered and crunchy. But the chicken was the most memorable, as it should be! It came with a spicy cilantro sauce on the side, which had a good kick to it. But the chicken was so juicy and flavorful from the roast that you could eat it without the sauce and be content. However, the sauce was bomb. Just eat it with. You'll be glad you did. The menu featured a lot of other different Peruvian dishes I'd like to try in my next visit. There's seating inside, but seems like a lot of people get takeout from here, as there was a line when we visited of those picking up food. Don't drive by this place and let it slip your mind, as I foolishly did so many times. The chicken is where it's at.

Wendy K.

Yelp
Yay! finally made it here. Came for lunch with a friend on a Saturday around 1 ish after checking out a plant sale at The Works Seattle. Before this the only Peruvian chicken I had was from another place farther south on Rainier. It's not a fancy place if you dine in you order with the server from your table but when your leaving you pay at the counter. II like the casualness cause I'n the kind of person that will pick up my bone after awhile to gnaw on. I had to go with what they're known for the Pollos a la Brasa I went with the half so I could bring some home to dad also if I ordered a quarter I wasn't sure which quarter I would get. The chicken was so moist and full of flavor, seasoned well and nicely roasted beautiful color. way better than the other place. It comes with fries and a salad everyone says to switch out the regular fries with the yuca fries I listened. So worth it! There are two hot sauce green and red both have a great kick and flavor the red has a little more citrus to it. The salad isn't much to write home about just shredded lettuce with a few tomato slices and ranch. Next time I'd probably see if I could just get the pickled onions that came with the tamale. My friend started with a pork tamale he didn't touch the pickled red onion till he had finished and I asked if they were pickled. We both tried it and loved the flavor and freshness full of like flavor you can see the lime zest. I think they let the red onions set in boiling water a few minutes to take the bite out of it I use that process when I make ceviche. The tamale is considered an appetizer and is very generous in size. You would guess that the pork would be shredded but its actually a slice of pork and part of a boiled egg. The masa is very moist and appears to be cooked in chili water by the color and flavor it picked up sone of the juice from the onions the acidity was perfect pairing with the richness of the pork. Can't remember the name of my friend's entree he got a marinated beef dish looked like flank steak that came with rice, couple slices of potato and hominy along with sautéed red pepper and onions. Seemed like a lot of starch for one dish. Beef was nice and tender lots of flavor well seasoned he ate all the meat up. Picked up a container of their cookies behind the counter the shortbread was a little too soft for me sandwiched between is a nutty caramel spread. Can't wait to come back for the chicken and introduce more people. Always kept hearing about this place glad I finally checked it out and it's not to far from work.

Cathy L.

Yelp
the food taste good but you won't get to get it because they are racist and won't serve anyone who doesn't look Spanish. I walked in and few minutes later 3 other people walked in and they wouldn't serve me until they served everyone else with lighter looking skin. the ambience was low budget. not updated at all. Looks like they have roaches and rats.

Karla C.

Yelp
This place is phenomenal! My family and I have been coming here for over 10 years. He had a location in Seattle and expanded to Lynwood. We're so happy that he's here in SeaTac. I'm eating here at least 2 a week on a minimum. His pollo a la brasa is supreme and above all other places. If you want real and authentic Peruvian food... you have to check this place out.

Jessica M.

Yelp
I thought the food tasted very home-y if that makes sense. Something a friend's parent would cook. The food is no frills, very simple, tasty, and authentic (I assume). We ordered the poor man's steaks and a chicken dish that had onions and potatoes. Both were good and I really liked the green sauce that was provided. The location was a bit odd in that there was a large stage looking area in the back. There were lots of children running around which made is very noisy and distracting. I noticed lots of people ordering for take out. Overall, it a good shake up from the usual dining options. I'm glad I tried it!

Nancy E.

Yelp
How about some Peruvian roasted chicken to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month? I love this juicy, flavorful chicken from San Fernando's in the Central District. They also have a location in Lynnwood. We got the whole roasted chicken and it came with a delicious salad, and we asked for yuca instead of regular fries. But the best part is definitely that green sauce. It's got a bit of a kick, but oh so delicious. Their plantains are so perfectly caramelized that they might as well be dessert. And their Tallarin Saltado with beef is a great fusion dish with generous portions. Yum!

Siria J.

Yelp
Honestly I used to love this place when it was up in Seattle. Now the waitress is So rude and Just seems like she doesn't want to do their job. The owner is so rude as well. The food doesn't taste as good as it was. No full service, they pick up your plates until you're done eating or you have to ask for condiments or to get your finished plates picked up. Super disappointed of this new service.

Janet N.

Yelp
The best place to go to for Peruvian Chicken in Seattle! San Fernando is one of my top go to restaurants when I'm either feeling broke or when I want fast service. Their chicken is super succulent, juicy, flavorful, fresh, and inexpensive! If you are going to order their chicken, be sure to have it with a side of their green sauce. I have no clue what it is, but I always find myself pouring it all over my chicken...it's just that good. Whether you get a quarter chicken, a half chicken, or a whole you always get a side of fries and salad. I always sub my salad for rice because the salad is legitimately just iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, and a couple cucumbers. Nothing special. I haven't really tried anything else on their menu, just because my love for their chicken is so strong, however I've had friends tell me that their Lomo Saltado is good. Anyway, great service, inexpensive food, and super flavorful chicken. That's really all you gotta know about this place.

Kathy Y.

Yelp
I've been on a lomo soltado binge and right now I'm in Seattle for next few nights and just had a yelp peep to see.. San Fernando roasted chicken pops up as #1 so I check the reviews and menu and we rolled thru. Outside the parking was packed! But luckily there were a few spots across the street. Outside appearance is not like the bougie Peruvian Restaurants in L.A or Vancity and interior wasn't up to par but was it worth it! Ordered the papas, the lomo soltado and the arroz con pollo which was Devine!! Succulent and not dry and the most important, the AJI! YASSSSSSSS soooooo fricken good! I would've given 5 stars but due to lack of service (only one worker 8 tables) and no refill of water until after bill was paid. We shall return though!

Cindy N.

Yelp
My friend's Lyft driver recommended San Fernando as the go-to for authentic, Peruvian chicken in the Puget Sound area. Hearty, no-frills, and filling, the food here is a great bang for your buck! 1) Service (-): With a large space that easily fills 50 tables, we walked in and were seated immediately. Service was pretty minimal to be honest but I guess you come here for the food! 2) Ambiance (+): Authentic and local, there was even soccer playing on TV even though it was the night of the Super Bowl ;) 3) Food (+): The best way to order here is family style as the portions of entrees and sides are huge. Amongst the 4 of us, we shared a whole chicken (which was very juicy and tender and came with a mound of crisp fries on top and a side tossed salad), the Papas Rellena Fried Potato with Beef (like a croquette), a side of fried plantains (no substitutions for these unfortunately with the fries in the chicken entree), salchipapas (pan fried chicken franks with french fries), and a 2L bottle of Inca Soda (a Mountain Dew colored bubble gum flavor soda). The sauce selection was also quite extensive! 4) Value for Money (+): The bill came out to less than $20/person for the feast - a real steal!

Carolyn P.

Yelp
This place is such a good find. The saltado is definitely a must try and my favorite dish. You can't beat the vast options of combining chicken and potatoes in so many delicious ways. Get a whole roast chicken to go and skip cooking tonight!!

Kristine H.

Yelp
Dinner here with friends and we've been back twice. On our first visit, there was four of us. We opted to split the whole roasted chicken which came with French fries and a shredded lettuce salad with tomato slices and cucumber. For us, $25 was very affordable (split four ways) and we added several extras. We chose the papa rellena (deep-fried potatoes stuffed with seasoned ground beef and onions, platano frito (fried plantains) and an order of yuca fritas (fried cassava wedges)! One of our friends chose a can of Inca Cola and two others went with the delicious chicha morada. If you're not keen to try an unnaturally yellow soda or the purple corn punch, they also have bottled water, western sodas, juices, and beer! If you go with their chicken, it is accompanied by ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and a pair of spicy sauces. The green is addictive and the red is spicy so if you don't like heat, use it sparingly. The chicken was juicy and the skin was excellent. Parking is scant and a little odd but they do have several spaces. Our service was quick even though the restaurant was bustling. The restaurant isn't fancy, in fact I'd say it's fairly no frills. Don't let its exterior fool you, this is definitely a gem!

Torrie N.

Yelp
The outside is unassuming and the interior is rather average, but the food is the star of the show! What we ordered: - half chicken (pollo a la brasa). The dark meat is very tender and flavorful and hardly requires any sauce. If you want spicy, go for the green sauce -- you won't be disappointed. We subbed yuca fries instead of regular fries and enjoyed them. - Papa Rellena (fried mashed potato with ground beef). This was unique and the beef was well seasoned. Also delicious with that green sauce on top! Service is friendly and warm -- we look forward to returning to try additional items!

Ariel T.

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday evening with some friends. The restaurant is much bigger on the inside than expected and there were only a few other patrons so we seated ourselves immediately (you also pay at the front). Between the four of us, we ordered 3 dishes and it was definitely enough. Heavy on the carbs for sure (two dishes came with a heaping mound of rice). They also bring out five bottled sauces -- ketchup, mustard, ranch, mild green salsa (my favorite! I drenched my chicken and fries in this), and hot red salsa (more spicy than savory). Half chicken 5/5 Since we split between four and it came with two chicken legs, I only ate one drumstick. But it was a fantastic drumstick -- juicy, well-seasoned, tender. The dish also comes with a massive plate of fries and some shredded lettuce salad. The fries are thick cut (not my preferred type). I wish there were less fries because we didn't finish them all and it felt really wasteful. Lomo saltado 4/5 This is a dish with sauteed sirloin strips, tomatoes, and onions. The sauce is extremely salty and kind of addicting. It goes really well with the rice. The steak quality was alright. Aji de Gallina 4/5 This was the most mild of the three dishes. It's shredded chicken over sliced potatoes served with (you guessed it) a mound of rice. I've never had anything like this but I would compare it to a mild coconut curry. It's pretty good, like something your mom would make for you at home. Overall, I thought it was pretty good! Not as good as the Peruvian food in Peru, my friend said, but enough to give me a good impression of the cuisine. It's pretty carb and meat heavy (not really vegetarian friendly from what I can tell in their signature dishes). If I had to come back, I might get the chicken again because that was a real standout.

Dennis D.

Yelp
It was tender, juicy, and succulent. And the chicken wasn't bad either. This place is on point. The menu is simple. Meat (chicken, beef, or seafood) with rice (or fries). Nothing fancy here. San Fernando Roasted Chicken is in the Central District on Rainier Avenue, a few blocks from the outer edge of Chinatown. It may not look like much on the outside, but the inside is actually decently spacious. Think of a larger than usual teriyaki joint, I guess. That describes the atmosphere and vibe of this place. There's a lot of tables, and also a bigger open floor in the back that might be for larger private parties. I think this place may have been a club back in the day based on the layout. Anyways, they have a small private parking lot on the side, but if you can't get a spot, you'll have to park on the street nearby. I had probably the most basic entrada on the menu, which is the arroz con pollo. The rice is spiked with a house-made sauce of green herb cilantro, which is what gives it its green color. The roasted chicken piece that came with it was also great. Even the upper white meat portion near the breast was tender and flavorful. Anyways, the food here smells great, tastes great, portions are good, and prices are also reasonable. Would definitely come back! Tip: The green colored cilantro sauce in the squeeze bottle gives an added kick to the flavor. A slight spiciness, but not overpowering.

Diego V.

Yelp
I had their ají de gallina, it was good but I prefer mine with parmesan. My friend ordered arroz con pollo, which he enjoyed. We also ordered yuca fries, which were perfect. It was really conveniently located right next to a rock climbing gym I like and was open late. Next time I go I'm looking forward to getting seco de carne.

Leandro C.

Yelp
Best ceviche in Seattle. That alone should make you want to go there. But also they have a great selection of traditional and AUTHENTIC Peruvian dishes. The decor is a bit old school but that was fine with me.

Erin E.

Yelp
Really disappointed. The food was really bland. Really expensive and just did not sit right with us. We ordered two separate dishes and both felt sick afterwards. The bathrooms were disgusting. Poop stains all over the inside of the toilets (there were two in one giant room.) oh and NO SOAP. It seems like someone took an old container and just refilled it with water... There is NO AC so it gets incredibly stuffy and hot. Our waitress/hostess was constantly screaming at the kitchen staff and vice versa. Even with a line of customers waiting. I was so disappointed with our entire experience.

Lydia L.

Yelp
Came here again for a late dinner. My friend and I shared a half roasted chicken dish and a fried pork rind dish. Maybe because we were starving, everything tasted extra delicious! My friend thought the fried pork rind was too dry but I really loved it. $28.05 after tax for two huge filling dishes, dirt cheap!

Vic C.

Yelp
Located on a corner with a small parking lot (very limited street parking if there is no parking in their little lot). On my last night in Seattle, I looked on Yelp for a place nearby. In particular, I was looking for real food, not food that is overly hyped, overly priced, etc. Eventually it lead me San Fernando Roasted Chicken. I ended up making a to go order for the following after looking over the online menu on the business website: Arroz Con Mariscos, $16 prior to tax (taken to go)- Delicious fried style rice with an assortment of seafood that included muscles, scallop, fish and shrimp. The rice had a great tomato based flavor that kind of reminded me of paella. An order of this entree can easily feed 4 people. Parihuela, $16 prior to tax (taken to go)- Tasty tomato based stew that had an assortment of seafood like the Arroz Con Mariscos entree that included octopus, shrimp, fish and muscles. The soup had a great flavor that wasn't spicy (great for this non spicy eater). This entree can also be enough for 3-4 people. --------------------------- (Total= $35.07 after tax) When I called on the phone to make my to go order, the employee did have some trouble understanding me on the phone (it also does not help that I was not able to pronounce the name of the stew entree) but eventually made it work. I was told that the food would be ready to pick up in 20 minutes. So my husband and I left 20 minutes after to this place to pick up food. I thought it was kind of odd that after we paid, that we still had to wait for our food. I just assumed it would be ready to pick up. But we waited, but it wasn't a really long wait, but still had to wait. We were given two small containers of the green sauce that is spicy (although it did taste good, wished it wasn't so spicy for me though). The parking lot is rather small and when we came, it was full. So my husband tried to find some street parking but there was none. But when we drove back to the restaurant, there were 2 parking spots open. So if you come here, just know that the parking situation may be a challenge. Also the seating area in general for this restaurant looks small initially but there was a whole other room that was not being in use, with the lights off in the room. Also when I used the ladies restroom while we waited for the food, I found it strange that in a single use restroom, there were two toilets that were side by side. But being that it was a single use restroom, you can just lock the door for privacy. But just find it weird of the set up. Someone took a photo of the two toilets side by side and uploaded it to this Yelp business page if you are curious. Anyways, the food was pretty good and the prices are within line with other Peruvian restaurants. I would come here again in the future.

Yelp
This place was beyond great. The food quality was great and the price was even better. We got there as soon as they opened and the service was really fast. We had the whole chicken a las brassas. It tasted so delicious and the breast meat was still juicy. The fries that came with it are not your typical oily, fattening, greasy fries from like fast food chains, they are the Latin style which is fried but not oily, you just gotta try it. They had a cilantro sauce that was just a bit spicy but the flavor was great. They also have different little Peruvians snacks. This is by far the best chicken I have tasted. I used to think that nothing would beat the one I had in Mexico, but I was wrong. Now I know why Peruvians are such happy people! Come here, I guarantee is worth it.

Yelp
No fancy dinners necessary when you have a place that makes food as good as San Fernando Roasted Chicken does. This humble mom-and-pop shop makes some juicy chicken and delightfully crispy yucca fries. For something off the beaten path, I definitely suggest eating a meal here. My views on rotisserie chicken have been deeply influenced by Costco. I urge you not to let them shape yours, because I found that that paltry $4.99 bird is nothing compared to the flavorful, tender chicken that they serve up here. My SO got the chicken quarter with salad and fries, a decision of restraint not to just eat half a chicken in one go, and when I sampled it, I found that it exceeded my expectations for roast chicken. The white meat is especially good here -- rather than being dry and stringy, their cooks have gotten it to a juicy place. This was very fairly priced, hovering around $11-12 for a plate if I remember correctly. Fries were nothing special; seemed like the frozen warehouse type. I ordered the lomo saltado with yucca fries and rice. There were lots of steak strips in this dish, along with peeled tomato quarters and strips of sweet, braised red onion. While all the spices were certainly there, the steak itself was either not the right cut or overdone, because they were kind of a pain to chew. But hey, that's what you get for ordering steak at a chicken place. Yucca fries are the bomb, especially when paired with some mayo and their green sauce. I have no idea what is in that green sauce, but even to someone who avoids spice like I do, I couldn't stop eating it. I think the thick, brick-like cut of the starchy yucca fry, paired with the richness of the mayo and green sauce, sealed the deal on dinner. We had to waddle back to our Airbnb after this one. With the money we saved, though, I could probably start saving to fly back to Seattle. With tip, the bill hovered around $32. This was a great way to kick off our trip.

Yelp
We ordered our food and it came out fast however the reason for my review is the cleanliness. We had fruit flies or some type of flies that kept flying on our food. They even got in our drinks and had to have them remove a plate because it got mixed in to my kids food. No discount or any type of apology other than awkward uhhhhh from The waitress. We won't be dining in anytime soon or was gross!

Yelp
Whenever I go to DC, I love stopping at the Peruvian Chicken restaurant because no one does chicken like the Peruvians!! But now living in Hawaii, I haven't been able to get my Peruvian chicken on! (I hope there's one I just don't know about yet...) Anyway, we stopped here on a whim on our way out of Seattle and ordered to go. We knew there would not be any good or healthy options on our 4 hour drive back. We stopped at a rest stop about 1.5 hours out and it was the best idea ever!! We subbed the starch for salad on our Half Chicken Plate (and asked for double dark meat) - Keto friendly. We also ordered the chicken soup. I didn't know there were huge chunks of potatoes or noodles in the soup! It was very filling and man the soup was sooooo tasty! Light yet full of flavor with a hint of freshly squeezed lime and chopped cilantro. So ordering take out for a healthy meal on-the-go works but so does eating in! They have a HUGE area for groups/parties. And even a mini stage! Service was great, and they offered suggestions/accommodations to our preferences--friendly attitudes. It appears a little run down from the outside, looks very unassuming as your drive by; but as always, those are my favorite places.

Yelp
I've never had Peruvian food so i decided to give it a try. It reminds me of a blend of mexican & jamacian. I got the half roasted chicken & seco de carne to go. The 1/2 roasted chicken was mostly moist, but it didnt seem any much different from other rotisserie chickens. For the most part, it was cooked well, but with only some portions being a little dry. It comes with fries & a salad and honestly, this Peruvian BBQ wasnt anything out of the ordinary. I got the Seco de Carne (cilantro beef stew) and it was definitely a unique flavor I haven't had before. It reminded me of a mix between Caribbean jerk flavor & Indian curry. The meat had a consistency of dry curry like Malaysian beef rendang, but it was slightly dry. Overall, this dish was a refreshing change from the norm and I was glad to try it! It came with rice & baked beans. Overall, this spot is a little pricier, but you do get a larger portion of food, so overall its a pretty good value for what you get! I'd recommend coming and trying this place as Peruvian food/BBQ is a little harder to find. I will be returning here and there as I live nearby!

Yelp
I came here about 3 months ago. A friend of mine is from Lima Peru and said that this place makes authentic Peruvian Dishes. It was her Birthday so I picked up two of her favorite dishes. She was raving about the green rice, chicken, beef and beans. They also carry Peruvian beverages, candies and desserts. Nothing fancy at all.. just good authentic Peruvian Food. The service is very attentive as well.

Yelp
Went a few weeks ago. In the middle of the pandemic, not a single kitchen staff had a mask on. The height of irresponsibility.

Yelp
all the staff did was scream at each other and fight. Even with a line of customers. Food was not flavorful which is expected with Peruvian food... very bland. We didn't even finish our food. NO SOAP IN THE BATHROOMS..... No AC in the restaurant either so be prepared to sweat. We also got sick after eating here. :( Really wanted to find a good Peruvian restaurant in town and am really disappointed.

Yelp
It's not the place that you would normally want to stop by, because the exterior (and even the interior) isn't exactly all that appealing. It's a real neighborhood place, if that makes any sense, because what they serve here is great customer service and very good food. From the outside, you really aren't sure what you are getting yourself into. When you walk inside, it isn't obvious what to do, but after heading to the counter, our group of 8, was seated and on our way to ordering. Inside there are booths, and what seems to be a banquet area, with larger groups of tables. We were sat here, but couldn't help notice that it seemed like they were probably still looking to renovate the place (or maybe not). The food... well, the place has the name of Roasted Chicken, so everyone ordered chicken, either a quarter, half or whole. Truthfully, non of us wanted to eat an entire chicken, so half chickens were abound. After maybe 15-20 minutes, and a few appetizers, our food started to arrive. Yes, the chicken was the star here, it was fall off the bone good, seasoned nicely, just on the edge of perfect, and maybe too salty (I'm leaning on just perfect). The rest of the plate was fries, and a simple lettuce salad. Once you get over the exterior and interior décor, the food is good, and worth visiting again if I'm in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Love love love this place! Reminds me of the food I got to eat in Lima. Authentic Pollo a la brasa, amazing salsa verde, lomo Saltado...I can keep going on and on...if you like authentic Peruvian, look no further.

Yelp
Food quality has changed. The chicha tasted bitter and fermented, not fresh. The roasted chicken was not the best. Food was basically blah...Will not return. Very disappointed with the restaurant and the food.

Yelp
Roasted chicken, homemade hot sauce, plantains and more in a super casual Peruvian cafe. It's delicious and affordable. Service is warm and kid friendly. Did I mention delicious? Seriously the best chicken in all the Seattle area. That includes all the frou frou spots that charge 3 times as much for hip ambience. The chicken is outstanding. Take out, dine-in, it's a favorite.

Yelp
Love and Hate this place at the same time. Chicken is the best, service when ordering carry out is by far the worst. 20 minutes food will be ready means more so "once you get here then we will fill the order then you wait 30 minutes. Green sauce is the best but you're lucky if they don't try and not give you any. I offered to pay extra for extra sauce and they said they ran out; after asking if I can get some from the container in the table she went in the fridge to give me more!? Is the frustration worth it? Someone please open up another better run San Fernando's!!!!
