I bought pork there the day before and came back to freeze it. Taking it out today and opening it, the packaging smelled bad. Call the phone on the shopping receipt, and many times the call goes unanswered or hangs up. It's absolutely terrible.

Google
Wow! I haven’t visited San Gabriel in a long time since last year! Good place for Asian, Hispanic & American customers to go shopping! Just awesome! However inside the restroom smells bad. Not clean. I don’t dislike the smell. Highly recommend. The price is worth it. The Taiwanese cabbage has the best price than elsewhere! They sell lotto scratcher ticket machine at the market entrance. I enjoy playing the $5 poker & crossword tickets. The parking lot is huge with so much space. Visit to SG market if you’re able to with your family & friends.

Emmi

Google
Cashier Minh Thu has the most rudest attitude. She was mad at the previous customers before me for whatever reason and brought her terrible customer service upon me. Rude in her tone of voice. She should not show her face at Superstore ever again.

Google
Great Dim Sum to Go Place. I went to Monterey Park Location, it was Closed, I did Yelp Search and this San Gabriel Location Popped up, so I decided to give it a try, Glad I Did, I Ordered Siu Mai, most places come, 3-pcs in an order, you get "4" here, so I ordered 2-orders, and they tasted Great. I also ordered 3 orders, Beef Rice Noodle Rolls.

Rebecca Yuan

Google
My friend recommended this place and I was not disappointed. Very Chinese/Asian set and have most grocery you can imagine, even some snaps I can’t find in Asia.

龔振勝

Google
I always come here for my grocery needs. Usually cheap compared to other places (except the mochi, that's cheaper elsewhere). So if you notice these guys jack up their prices, you know inflation is bad.

Hong Li

Google
The shop was good but the floor was messy and the bathroom was dirty and way too many scams there like their easy open coconuts cause the coconuts were rotten.

William Walker

Google
Takes too long, very slow to check out. Not enough checkout lines during peak hours- experience completely ruined by other shoppers. Went to the store this Sunday only needing to buy a few things and was stuck waiting in line for 30 minutes while many people attempted to cut ahead of me because only two counters were open. I had to put my foot down at the urging of everyone else in line behind me and force other people trying to get ahead to stay out of the line and wait their turn. All transactions must be signed for if you're paying with credit, people also pay cash and this slows down the lines significantly. The supermarket is being remodeled which is nice, but the point of sale software needs updating and they need baggers to help expedite the process of getting people through checkout.

Yelp
Generally I like this store ok, but today customer service or lack of customer service reared its ugly head. My wife was at the seafood counter this morning with one other customer. She picked out one large fish and was waiting for the employee to weight and place the price sticker on the bagged fish. She finally got the attention of the employee and he came over to the two lady customers. The other lady told the employee that my wife was first. This asshole of an employee would not take care of my wife's fish because she did not have a number. She just left the fish there and continued shopping. Anyhow we finish our shopping and go up to the front to check out and pay. It is now about 10:45 and we waited and waited like 15 to 20 minutes to pay and go. They have 15 stations to pay and check out. Only 4 were open and they were slow as can be. I went into this store thinking this store is ok, now I do not think so.

Yelp
What is the name of this market? Am so confused, lol. Yelp list it as : San Gabriel Superstore- a super store it is, this place is HUGE! The outside sign says: Shun Phat Supermarket.. and the employee uniform logo says: SF Supermarket! WTH! Okay, I give up. The market is located in Valley and San Gabriel intersection. I just call it "that huge market", lol. Incredible Asian Market- it's HUGE huge huge! Complete sensory overload. They cover everything Southeast Asian with the focus on Vietnamese and Chinese goods;however, I can find all my Thai/Vietnamese/Chinese cooking ingredients here without going to three markets! A win. Best to shop here on a weekday, as I imagine weekends are hectic. Love this store: Not as pretty as H-Mart or Tokyo Central, but for Southeast Asian goods this place is it. The market is clean (even though it's out dated), well-stocked and organized. Plenty of parking. Cash and Credit (no AMEX) accepted.

Yelp
¡¡¡ Had exactly what I wanted !!! Had an amazing time looking at the different products in the store, the cashiers were very friendly, which r it very nice n way ! They also knew what names the things were on !

Yelp
I haven't shopped here for a while. This place is amazingly full of grocery items that you will need for cooking for stir fried morning glory, chicken chow mein, or curry beef. Exotic fruits such as durians, mangos, rambutans are regularly available. Speciality item such as filet featherback fish, variety of fish pastes and fish sauce, mild, hot, and sweet hot sauces from all over Asian countries are easily available as well. The cashier at the register is friendly and very helpful! Manager is also welcoming and very helpful with customer service. As you may see in the enclosed pictures, store is well lit, spot clean in most areas, and all shelves are well stocked. The only minor issue I have seen is the "SF" sign which is a bit confusing if you are looking for the "SG" Superstore. Meanwhile, enjoy & keep on shopping.

Namir K.

Yelp
I don't understand the number of bad reviews. They claim that the personnel was rude but my experience twice was great. If you are planning some Vietnamese or thai curry recipe, go there as you will find every reputable product you need. They are the only one to carry the three ladies brand for the rice noodles for Pad thai. This brand is the best. They have all curries and chilies and their selection of produce is wide and fresh. I really like this place and recommend it highly.

Yelp
When I was 18 my first job was at Shun fat and I worked in the meat department in Monterey park. I also worked at the super store when it first opened. This was like 1998 . Now I come back as a customer, and I am Extremely disappointed in the way they Gossiping about how I am Not disabled . They say stupid stuff all the time . I am about to find a ADA lawyer and sue them . I am Just trying to go shopping and they want to make jokes about how I am not disabled. I am a disabled veteran and I also have visual impairment, low vision. And many other things . Keep it up and y'all will get sued. Do not buy beef there . Pork is nasty too . The beef not even usda select . Meaning barely pass inspection. Chicken has steroids and ground beef is nasty. The pork quality is very bad too. The ground beef very very nasty there and will turn black in one day in your refrigerator

Yelp
First-time here. This is the cleanest Asian market I've ever been in. And the most organized. And there isn't a weird fish odor when you enter like in most Asian markets I have frequented lately. And there are great deals. I bought a cute small 3 lb water melon...it was two pounds for a dollar....so a buck and change for a juicy watermelon. From the San Gabriel Blvd entrances, this market is at the back. You walk past various stalls to get to the actual market...but the stalls are all interesting and sell all sorts of things...clothing, jewelry, watches, zippo lighters, bulk fruits and nuts along with many varieties of green tea, boba....you can charge on through the main "avenue" to get to the market. This place is huge...and fun. I don't think it dederved the low rating whatsoever...this place is fun to explore. Highly recommend, especially the bulk fruit and nuts kiosk. They give you free samples and refreshing sample of cold green tea. I'll be back for sure!!

Yelp
I used to frequent this supermarket as a child, and I have to admit that it is just fine. There's nothing outstanding about it, but there is a nice sense of nostalgia walking through the side entrances to find small clothing stores, a food court, and then customer service. The selection of vegetables and meats were wide, but they weren't all quality. I would say the quality ranges quite a bit, but the prices are on the more affordable side, so that's a plus. I also liked that they had items that weren't available at some of the smaller markets that I live near.

Ed U.

Yelp
You really haven't lived until you've heard Hank Williams' "Jambalaya"...sung in Mandarin. It was playing loud and clear on the muzak, my ma cher ami-o, in what was one huge supermarket. It was actually more than a supermarket as you walk by a lot of kiosks selling a lot of different merchandise when you go through the main entrance. Only the supermarket was open at 9PM, an hour before closing, but that was more than enough as there were so many aisles you'd have to be a regular customer to avoid getting lost, The produce and seafood sections were especially huge with the latter featuring as many fish tanks as a city aquarium. Even items like tea and cookies are offered in an endless selection in dedicated aisles. I bet you could also get jambalaya and a crawfish pie and filé gumbo. RELATED - Exploring LA? Yelp
Besides Rancho Cucamonga (RC) 99 Ranch Market, San Gabriel Superstore is my second most visited Asian supermarket when I'm out in the San Gabriel area. It's not exactly close to where I live, but I'm out in the SG Valley almost if not every weekend. My Mom and my brothers usually meet up for our weekend lunch in SGV. This SG Superstore are usually well stocked with their merchandise except when during high peak COVID-19 scare period... then they may be low or nil with their goods. I love shopping for head shrimp, Asian snacks, and their vegetables. Of course I do buy other items, but those are my go-to when I'm here. Prices aren't too bad... very comparable to other Asian markets. They also have a Yum Cha deli in the same shopping center where I pick up dim sum sometimes. Staff is okay, but you can't expect too much from an Asian supermarket. They are not there to befriend you unless you're lucky to meet a friendly cashier. Tons of parking. Give them a shop when you're in SGV. Happy Shopping!

Vuoch L.

Yelp
Passed by this store on my way to dim sum at Embassy Kitchen. I need to buy some Vietnamese cold cuts ham / head cheese to make banh mi ( vietnamese sandwich for a party . Their price for cha lua and head cheese here priced one dollar less then the store near my house . I was able to grab some cilantro for .29 cents each bunch , grab some jalapeños and Daikon and carrots to make pickled vegetables to go with the Bahn mi . This store is huge has lots of well stocked items . Sadly I am in a hurry and not able to peruse the aisle .

Jeff T.

Yelp
Possibly the cheapest, greatest, and lowest prices on red cherries, lychees, and rambutans. Pretty good prices on the fresh mangosteen too! They've a wide variety of produce and non produce goods. Also a fair variety of seafood. This looks to be more of a Vietnamese market than a Chinese one

Jennifer D.

Yelp
This is a grocery store I've been frequenting ever since I was a young child, so I've been going here for at least a decade as a SG local. It's very big with multiple Asian shops. The prices are cheap, so you can buy groceries on a budget though you may need to double check if the meat is fresh. However, I will say that the workers in the grocery store have been a bit rude to me here, and I used to come here quite often. Maybe a few times a month. If you don't speak Chinese, (I'm Vietnamese) the grocery clerks might force you to pack your own groceries. They'll shove the groceries over for you to pack it into your bags, but then pack it for the next person over... that's what happened today. I ordered two bags worth of groceries and the lady didn't want to pack it, but for the next person she graciously put everything into the bags for them, only three items. There is a butcher here who is also very rude, impatient and grunts at you depending on his mood. The times I have had the misfortune to encounter him he is always in a sour mood. I'm not sure why I've experienced such lackluster or passive aggressiveness here, but unfortunately some immigrants are hostile to the younger generation. Maybe they think I'm dumb for not speaking my native tongue because as I usually communicate in English, but I'm actually not Chinese. I may continue going here because I get odd cuts of meat to dehydrate or make meals for my dog, but I don't look forward to coming here most of the time. So, the prices are cheap but the customer service is lackluster. There isn't really any hostility except for a specific butcher who seems like he hates his job, but don't expect anyone to be jolly or welcoming.

Yelp
This is a must stop - I'm not an expert on asian markets, but they've got so much more and the prices are very reasonable. It's located towards the back of a very big Super Store, which has lots of small shops (jewelry, clothing - and those fancy Toto toilets) - just walk through to the back and there's an enormous grocery store. Aisles were clean, well organized and prices were much better than I've seen online or at other more western grocery stores. While I had been shopping for oyster sauce - I got totally mugged by the cookie aisle, which had these amazing french La Mere Poulard cookies, so delicious! But all the other aisles had a good selection of whatever you were looking for - it's got a bit of that World Market international selection thing going. The back end of the aisles has the specials (great prices on Red Boat Fish Sauce) and there's a very good fresh produce area towards the right side and then at the far back are the meat and fish/seafoods. On far left are the frozen items. You're sort of a bit on your own finding things - but checkout was fine. Parking is easy with a large lot. Will definitely go back again.

Yelp
During Covid times, this place is so filthy! Shopping carts are filthy and no one ever sanitize them. They just leave them outside for whomever returns carts or take a cart. The guy who collects the carts in the parking lot wears a glove collects the carts and push them all back in the rail. Inside the market is a station with wall soap dispenser that are all bagged up with grocery plastic bag and all stalls are empty of hand sanitizers. A passing by customer saw me pushing to get some hand sanitizer told me don't bother, they are ALWAYS empty. Lol. Market is disorganize. I cant find anything anywhere. Produce and vegetables doesn't seem very fresh. Lack of social distance!

Minj O.

Yelp
This is a massive asian supermarket, perhaps bigger than Costco. You will find anything you need in here, I mean, anything! Huge parking too!

Richard S.

Yelp
Extremely rude staff at the back seafood area. May want to reconsider if the lower price is worth it or not.

Henry T.

Yelp
Typical large asian supermarket. It has a lot of shops located around the entrances that range from boba and other foods, to clothing, jewelry, or housewares. So if you just enjoy browsing a variety of goods, this spot may be for you. For me, the store itself could be a bit cleaner in the supermarket area and the veggies could be a lot fresher for the large selection. Often times, I will notice the veggies are a tiny bit cheaper than other markets, but the quality definitely shows they are near the end of their shelf life. While the selection of veggies is larger than usual, the quality is not commensurate. And the pricing overall here seems to be higher than other markets. So while they do offer everything here from meat/fresh seafood, to every asian food item you could think of, with a good mix of chinese/viet/Thai/korean options, I can't say this store stands out. Good if you can only stop at one place to shop, otherwise I may suggest going to a cleaner market with fresher selections.

Gabriel H.

Yelp
So this market is one of the classic markets in the 626 area...it's been here for ages. It's not the cleanest, but they do have a wide variety of products, and it's especially good for Vietnamese and SE Asian ingredients. I came here and saw: - cheap Megafish blue bottle fish sauce - cheap Red Boat fish sauce! - MEGACHEF OYSTER SAUCE. Boy is this stuff rare. It's currently selling on Amazon for $30 for a tiny bottle, or you can find it on specialty stores for $11-$14. Here it's only $3.29!!! I've been looking for this oyster sauce for a year now because I've heard that it's better than Lee Kum Kee Premium (LKK has been using more preservatives and MSG whereas MegaChef is more oyster). I'm so happy I found this rare bottle of oyster sauce here for a cheap price! Four stars.

Vince L.

Yelp
It's a very average San Gabriel Valley Chinese supermarket, as they carry products from many Asian countries. I've found that the appeal has diminished over the years and the selection has thinned out. Produce is usually pre-packaged, which I prefer, as it hasn't been picked to death. Not a whole lot of anything but still a good variety of basics. I've never bought meat here, so I'm unsure of the quality. They do have an interesting bulk section in the back in case you needed something like a 5-gallon tub of hoisin sauce. Check-out is a not very speedy as I've only seen 2-3 opened stands on most of my visits. There are a handful of shops right outside the grocery area that are individually owned. Kind of reminds me of the Chinatown stands.

David I.

Yelp
This place has a swap meet vibe to it with a grocery store in the back. There are quite a few clothing booths and a jewelry place. I get weird looks whenever I go in and it's not like I look like a thug or anything. It's like they've never seen an ABC before in their life. They have a place that sells loose candy and jerky. Gotta be careful with them because they'll add more stuff to the bag than you asked for so they can charge you more. I was there to check out their food court. Only once restaurant and a place that sold smoothies and coffee/tea. The restaurant was a dim sum place. The price was actually pretty good considering the large portions they gave. Don't forget to pick up some sticky rice from the little grandma at the entrance. Those were delicious!

Janey Y.

Yelp
I love my old-school-hole-in-the-wall Asian markets. I miss the days of Shun Fat in Monterey Park but I am glad this along with their store in El Monte are still around. What I love about this store- 1) spacious (not super crowded where you're almost bumping into people) 2) going along with spacious, there is a decent sized parking lot 3) adjacent to many stores nearby 4) variety. Ok if you're looking for choices, you will probably have many here. I was looking for dark soy sauce and came across spicy soy sauce lol. I didn't even know it existed. 5) they sell at wholesale Prices are pretty competitive and there's plenty of variety. I would shop here more often if I lived closer!

L S.

Yelp
I always shop here when I am in the area. Great price on fresh vegetables and fruits and they have everything I need.

Emma E.

Yelp
This review is for the Dim Sum Good dim sum here. Reasonable prices, not as greasy as some other places and quick service. I am half Chinese, I do not speak mandarin or Cantonese, but it's easy to order exactly what you want. The ladies and gents working the counter are friendly and quick.

Christina F.

Yelp
Look guys, you don't come here for friendly service or a beautiful atmosphere. You come because they have good prices on the Asian groceries, a solid dim sum place and awesome little stores. I really love the cute plushies, and knickknacks at Art Land. Also, the skincare and makeup stores have awesome deals usually. So many fabulous Korean and Japanese products. I've gotten face masks for 50 cents each, and the products pictured below for $5 a piece. It's a huge bargain, especially for the Tony Moly brand snail gel. One of my girl friends found her favorite liquid lipstick here. The clothing stores have really great and unique things. Bring cash because then you can bargain and avoid paying tax! Don't show weakness and you'll be fine! Also there's a great jewelry counter with some nice hanging charms, jewelry, statues, small water fountains and other neat stuff. If you like Asian food, makeup and skincare this place is a must.

Sanora A.

Yelp
Terrible customer service of all the markets in the area. Havent been here cause I always got bad service, but my sister told me they have tons of sheilds up for the virus so I thought I'd try it. Nope! Over charged us again. 2 bags of peanuts charged us 5. My elderly mom went in on her own to pick up a few items and it took so long I went to check on her. Yet again over charged. They have habit of over charging people and argued we bought expensive items. Extremely rude, mean and slow. So I pointed out peanuts 5 bags I have 2! Be ready to be as rude or mean if you want to be heard. They acted like we stole from them and was so rude to my mom. I'll stick to 99ranch and Great Wall. This place has a tendency to over charge the elderly. 3rd time already. Shop here if you must but read your reciept and watch the screen when they scan. Horrible business practice and horrible service.

Tiffany A.

Yelp
This is one of my family's favorite markets. My mom and I used to come here every week during my college years until we moved. This superstore is extremely big. I love that I can shop for grocery and other stuff at this superstore. My mom used to shop for grocery while I shopped at other mini stores (clothing, bakery, watches, toys, etc) inside the market. They also have a dim sum restaurant inside the market, as well as two boba shops (Boba Corner and AU 79). Due to COVID-19, they are not offering fish frying at their seafood department.

Ana T.

Yelp
There's a lot of variety of groceries and other products in this superstore. They tend to be a little more expensive than other Asian markets that I usually go to but understandable since this store is so big.

Magda N.

Yelp
We always come here because they stock a lot of Asian products variety. Price is unbeatable too. Best deal in the house is rambutan. When it's summertime, it can go down to $1.99/lb or even $1.49/lb! Another best deal from this supermarket is their orange $0.99/3lb. Can never get this deal anywhere else and their quality isn't so bad. There are a lot of parking and transaction always goes easy breezy. One time we bought kikkoman soy sauce 2qt size and it was rancid. I think it was sealed. Not sure why but we didn't really want to make a big deal over a few bucks. We just never get that product anymore and we never had any problems with any other products. After covid though, we try to avoid coming here because the line is so long and slow.

Lynn N.

Yelp
I bought a box of fresh coconuts from Vietnam. Opened the first one - smelled foul with pinkish flesh. Opened another one - same things. Unfortunately, this was not the first time this happened to me. In the past, I'd keep going until I found a good one (I like coconuts), but I became disgusted that for what I paid - over $20 I barely enjoyed about 5 or 6 of them if I'm lucky. I brought the whole box back. These coconuts, when they were first imported from Vietnam, were dirt cheap and yet the quality was as good as the Thai coconuts. But now they are expensive and it bothers me a great deal that both the store and the manufacturers would rather make money than build a good quality product and earn customers trust.

Elmer L.

Yelp
Stopped by for some Egg Tarts for my parents. So fresh and tasty at a great price $2.79 for 3.

Lily V.

Yelp
I think this place has so many mini stores before you enter the actual superstore to buy those Asian groceries. I live in Arcadia, so I have a lot of options when buying Asian groceries. I occasionally come here if I need something special that I can't find in my nearby stores OR to buy something I know is cheaper (not going to say what because I don't know if they'll start raising the prices *eep*). I do enjoy shopping here for their snacks, canned or bottled drinks, and frozen foods. It is part of my childhood memory. I think my parents would come to shop at the mini stores nearby and we kids would go to the stores that sells toys (like Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokémon cards, Artland, and those stores that sell junk toys in boxes). But then of course we get bored or realize we don't have enough for the toys and cards we need, so we enter the store and buy our cheap snacks, cookies, and chips. Very nostalgic feeling coming in here. Lots of changes within the past years and they do have a large selection (sometimes you need to explore the left side section where they pile groceries on the cardboard boxes, I sometimes find on sale items there).

SC C.

Yelp
this store has a lot of food to choose and cheaper than a lot of the Chinese supermarket in San Gabriel Valley, Overall I liked this place, except the staffs working at here are pretty rude and impolite to the customers, On yesterday March 10, I asked one of the staff who worked at the veg dept, I asked him very polite in Chinese: 請問有沒有秋葵?, then he replied in English: No Chinese! Then I asked him again in English : May I ask you where is the okra? , then he replied in Chinese Cantonese, 不懂英文(means No English), What the..... he's doing here! There is the Chinese community (60% of the population are Chinese living in the San Gabriel City)and he said he didn't speak Chinese (Cantonese Or Mandarin)?! he answer in English, but when I asked in English, he spoke Chinese!????

Gary C.

Yelp
If you're looking for a market that sells high-end seafood, is modern and clean, has English speaking staff, and is odorless when you walk in, then this is not the place for you. My parents and now my own family have been coming here for over 20 years. The pics in this review are just to highlight the food court, which I figured not many people know about. This is what I love about the market: - reasonable prices; cheaper than 99 Ranch for almost everything - better selection of SE Asian groceries/brands, e.g. dried goods, sauces/spices, snacks, fruits, veggie, in particular - has many brands to choose from for each type of packaged good/sauces - good selection of meat and fruit - good selection of seafood but some items not always the freshest. Prices are great if what you're looking for happens to be fresh. No diff than any other place - has plentiful inventory of everything - has section for those seeking to buy some cooking ingredients in bulk - has an awesome food court and boba stand where I like to grab a quick bite if I happen to shop there around lunch time. The prices are great for the dim sum. The buns and the made-on-site (I've watched) Chang-fun are great. Selection is also pretty impressive. It's not high-end dim sum but quality is on par with any other mid level dim sum restaurant - has about a dozen mini stores inside the superstore selling everything from costume jewelry, bedding, clothing, stationery/trinkets, boba, phone service/accessories, to Chinese junk food - ample parking - newish shopping carts - most of the time there are enough cashiers to keep lines short Some things that I wish were different but wouldn't stop me from coming here: - some types of veggie are not the freshest but many are just fine and on par with every other place. There have been improvements lately so I'm able to buy more veggie there which I prioritize. Otherwise, I'd buy certain veggies only at Good Fortune Market - the rear of the store smells like one big restroom Since we cook everyday, this place has been great to shop at for all the ingredients. Truly a gem in this area!

Grace L.

Yelp
Understaffed and long wait to check out at cashier. The only good thing about this store is that price is lower than Ranch 99 and 168. But the long wait at the cashier (15 mins) isn't worth it anymore I'd rather pay more for faster check out. It looks like it is a supermarket for poor folks as some veggies aren't that fresh. The place is filthy.

Pharmacare P.

Yelp
It's convenient and easy to find parking. The prices are reasonable and fresh! There are so many different brands and variety of food to choose, especially Vietnamese groceries. I definitely will come back

Ivy C.

Yelp
Support local businesses! This market is pretty big and sells a lot of stuff. I used to come here a lot when I was younger but less often now. It is located in the plaza with all the other shops and restaurants surrounding. Service is helpful and kind.

Nghiep D.

Yelp
Bad Customer Service. No one willing to take calls for reporting problems.

vallier s.

Yelp
Yeah wonderful place to buy all your Asian products groceries not to expensive you can save a lot of money all fresh seafood in tanks

Richard S.

Yelp
Initially we enjoyed shopping here because of ample parking compared to Hawaii Supermarket till I found that they alter expiration date on many packaged products either by putting a label sticker over the expired date. I almost want to call Department of Health on them. They also have only 1 meat grounding machine so they use the same machine to ground pork and beef which normally not the right way. I stopped coming to shop here for their unethical practices!

Eugenia L.

Yelp
Worst experience ever with the worst customers that go here. Was waiting in line and a lady tried to put her cart in front of me. I made sure to put her cart back right behind me. Then, she moved her cart to the aisle where bulk products go (behind the cashier). The whole time in line, she stayed super close to me.. a little too much into my personal space. I didn't think anything of it other than the fact she was just way too close to me. When it was my turn in line, she managed to start giving the cashier money even though it was clear that she was behind me. Surprisingly, the cashier just accepted it. I was just in complete disbelief that happened. Even worse, the lady who cut me acted like nothing was wrong. Pretty uncivilized if you ask me.

Maruko X.

Yelp
Very spacious supermarket, large parking lot, bright inside and organized racks, variety choices for grocery.

Yelp
This is my grocery store I go to whenever I need Asian food products and produce. There's variety, quality and at reasonable prices. Always clean and well stocked. The variety is just huge so prepare to spend a good amount of time as I certainly did in deciding which brand and kind to get. In addition to the super market, there are other vendors there selling all sorts of consumer goods. Highly recommend this place and I will certainly return when I'm running low!

Yelp
They advertised the sale of bitter melon for 59 cents per pound for the week of 8/31 to 9/6/2018 at their website. However, when getting there, the store posted the sign as 99 cents per pound. A whopping 68% difference in prices! See the two pictures. The store management should "clean" up their advertisement with accuracy! Otherwise, this can be categorized as false advertisement!

Yelp
Despite the distinct lack of warmth, decor, and modernity, I quite like this very serviceable market. They sell a wide variety of Asian products, the overwhelming majority of which are Chinese. Due to the sheer size of the inventory, they provide access to many hard to find items and I have never seen a larger selection of prepared cooking sauces in any other Los Angeles area grocery store. Prices are for the most part reasonable. Staff is perfunctory but I do not patronize this business to make friends. While some people may not agree, I am a HUGE fan of the fact that they keep the air conditioning turned way down in the store. I am huge proponent of freshness and would rather shop in a hoodie and have fresher food, than shop in a tshirt and take my chances. If you are not familiar with this store, bring something to cover your arms from the chill, even if it is over 100 degrees outside. SGSS is definitely one of my go to markets and I am grateful for it's existence.

Yelp
Cashiers are super super slow!!! Waiting for half an hour while just only 2 customers! Please hire someone works faster and more effective!! No one has time to wait that long for just few items

Yelp
There is a lot of parking. Lots of shopping carts available. It's just the smell. This place smells soooo strong. There is a lot of selection. The prices seemed reasonable. I want in there to pick up some snacks and tea for my flight home. The mini security guard at their door is super fierce. It seems like a popular place housed behind a bunch of little stores with it.

Yelp
This Shun Fat Supermarket in San Gabriel is very bad customer service. The women Manager mix America & Vietnamese has a bad attitude. The Manager mix Vietnamese women is not a person, she yell at me because I holding my cell phone up,she yells at me that she thought I recorded her. She told the old man security to tell me stop recording which I wasn't recording her. She is very rude lady Manager mix Vietnamese America. She yells all employees that work for her, because they told me that she is very mean lady Manager, every her co-workers hate her. Don't buy your groceries here at this Shun Fat Supermarket in San Gabriel, this Supermarket has bad customer service. I encourage everyone not to shop here at this Shun Fat Supermarket San Gabriel. This Supermarket very bad services. They don't appreciated your business here. Thanks

Yelp
I would give it a zero star if possible ! This place is very dirty and floor is sticky!! Although there are a large selection of products but this place is dirty and giving you an unpleasant shopping experience! Not to mention the cart is broken and you could find rotten fruits and veggies in display!! Will not go back!!
