My boyfriend and I visited San Pedro this past Sunday hoping to enjoy some delicious fresh sea food, unfortunately, upon arriving, we noticed San Pedro fish market is not what it used to be; the original location is now under construction and shut down, so now new entrance is located off 6th and harbor. You can pay for parking heading towards old location for $12 and then ride the free trolly to the new entrance. You then wait in line and get your wrist band if you are going to drink alcohol inside. Unfortunately, the fish market runs out of food truck style and tents set up for pick up , tables have scan codes and you place order through there., they bring out the food to your table, although it took a while for it to come out. Long wait at the beverage line under the sun was no fun. Paying for 2 32ounce micheladas at $56 felt a bit rough. Ambiance has changed, feels a bit more crowded, service wasn't what it used to be, but they do have plenty of restrooms available as well.
We ordered the oysters, lobsters and French fries. The oysters were a miss, first of all, served in a to go foam container, at room temperature. These oysters were not served on ice and were served to us this way. The size of the meat in the oysters was a joke, very tiny portions. The lobster was not as tasty, not as much sauce added in there, plain served lobster. they didn't include butter so we had to go ask for it. The French fries were mediocre, we were starving so we digged in. The price did not satisfy our hunger cravings. We over spent on seafood wondering if fresh after all? My boyfriend ended up having an upset stomach later on today. Not coming back here until they finish renovating their area. I left disappointed. Beware.
