"A Coconut Grove staple, Sandbar is back and better than ever after a fire in 2020. Always filled with regulars and home to many college nights, this casual sports bar has 40 beers on tap, a full bar, great food, and 30+ televisions. There’s also a new outdoor area with a bocce ball court and more." - Amber Love Bond

Where to Watch Women’s Soccer in Miami | Eater

"Most Miami residents have at least a dozen stories from Sandbar. Sandbar is a beach-themed sports bar where dozens of TVs stand over plates of hot fish tacos and sizzling fajitas, and is buzzing with energy almost every night of the week. Although soccer games may not play standard, they’re open to requests. While the typical cocktail servings here skew tiki, those who prefer to watch the beautiful game in style go for Black Label, neat." - Matthew Meltzer

The Best Sports Bars in Miami to Watch NFL and College Football

"Sandbar is the place to watch Miami Hurricanes games. That being said, it gets a surprisingly large turnout for Michigan State, University of Missouri, Florida State and University of Florida fans, not to mention for NFL teams like the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, New England Patriots and, of course, the Dolphins." - Eater Staff

Popped in for some lunch so visited at a quiet time. Large choice of beers on the menu and it was Taco Tuesday so had a threesome of tacos which were all great and amazing value ($2.50 each) so splashed out on a portion of fries...and there was a lot of fries. Friendly service, imagine this place is fun later on in the evening so will be back to find out

I haven’t been here in several years. It used to be one of my sports bars and I wanted to eat here for old times sake. I made an excellent decision. Today was Taco Tuesday which made me very excited as I love tacos. We started with drinks. I had a Kentucky Mule and my wife had a Cat 3 Hurricane. We skipped appetizers and went straight for lunch. I had two fried mahi-mahi fish tacos. My had the sizzlin’ tequila fajitas with yellow rice and black beans. The tacos were really good but those fajitas were exceptional. Between the two of us, we finished everything with no room for dessert. Glad we came here for lunch. Our waitress Zuly was really nice, helpful, and attentive. She checked on us often, made some good meal recommendations, and really seemed to care about us having an enjoyable meal. We will definitely be back soon.

Google
What an amazing place to hang out with friends, family or coworkers. Every wall has a TV playing the game, the beer list is massive! And the bar food is the best in the area hands down. The servers and bartenders truly make you feel at home, I will be coming back. GET THE PHILLY CHEESE STEAK!

Google
We had such a great time. We had a very large group to watch a playoff game. Amanda was our server and she was amazing. I have no clue how she kept everything together but did an amazing job. Also the owners were awesome, we needed additional tables and they moved so we could have theirs. They also helped with directions and questions about the area. We had an amazing time. Definitely a great place to watch a game.

I have been to the Sandbar a bunch and love it. The wings are great. I like Joey's style (back on the grill). The food is good, plentiful. The drinks are cold. They love dogs! which is cool. Long live the Sandbar!

If you're a fan of mahi fish tacos, this spot is an absolute must-visit! I've been indulging in their tacos since 2006, and they are the sole reason I ever find myself there. While the menu boasts a variety of delicious items, it's the mahi fish tacos that keep me coming back. Having lived in Miami and traveled to various states and countries, I've made it a point to visit this place whenever I can. Whether it's ordering 3-6 tacos with fries and savoring every bite outside or making a special trip, these tacos never disappoint. A memorable moment was during my pregnancy in 2018. I drove my Lexus from Maryland to Coconut Grove just to satisfy an intense craving for these tacos. I called ahead to ensure they’d be open and have my order ready, and though it felt a bit crazy at the time, leaving there so happy and full was worth every mile! Even though I thought they might have closed permanently during and after COVID, I was thrilled to return in December 2021 and find them open. I can't wait for my next I hope it's around forever so that I can take my grandchildren one day when I am old!

Google
We went here because it was a Bar Rescue bar, but were surprised by just how good the fish and chips were! The bar is clean, the music good and the service quick. Very pleased overall and one of our better bar experiences while in Miami.

Google
For Sports Grill, I really enjoyed myself. I ordered a Funky Buddha Floridian and Philly Phanatics w/ Tater Tots. The Philly was bigger and tastier than I expected it to be. I can never go wrong with a Floridian. Outdoor was perfect. On their patio people watching was perfect. People are very entertaining. My server was sweet. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about her. For an appetizer I ordered chips with salsa, pico de gallo and guac. While the dips were delicious the chips tasted a bit stale. That wouldn’t stop me from revisiting the place.

Yelp
We're on vacation in the Coco Walk area and was looking for something quick to eat. We tried this place because it was right around the corner. The service was great, the young lady was really friendly and attentive. The food was tasty, the Mahi tacos was delicious. I had the chips and salsa. The salsa was definitely made and not from a bottle. It was roasted salsa, very delicious . I wish the chips were warm, but they weren't . My husband had the chicken fajitas and he enjoyed it. Chicken was really tender and plentiful. Prices are great also.

Yelp
A true sports bar in Miami is hard to come by, so Sandbar is a real fan favorite on game days! They have tons of TVs and 2 projectors so you won't miss a second of any game. They also have game sound for bigger games which is great. They even have free shots of fireball this year in the Stanley Cup Finals when the Panthers score! The staff are also incredibly friendly and it feels like a real neighborhood bar. The food is solid bar food, but come here for a game and a drink!

Yelp
We made it to happy hour. Half off beers. Tried the Joeys chix wings. They r fried then grilled. They were great. Had the buffalo sauce on the side as I can't do really hot stuff. It was great. Ended up putting it on all the wings. Our server was great. Very attentive but not overly so. Will definitely be back for the wings.

Yelp
This is a fun place! It's loud and the crowd is wild, but isn't that what you want on game night? The prices are great for CocoWalk. For example, fresh fish Catch of the Day and a Salad (or any other side) was $17. The nachos were loaded. I'll just get that next time. See my pictures for nacho prep from start to finish. The plate weighed over 5lbs. What I loved most were all the TVs showing the game. They're everywhere!

Yelp
Decent beer selection, good bites, friendly service. Conch fritters were tasty and crunchy. Happy hour drafts are like $5-$6

Yelp
Came int to try their tacos Tuesday special. $2.50 Tacos all good for bar food. Good amount of filling. You can choose from 6 types of meats. Pulled pork & mahi-mahi. Our waitress was awesome! Friendly, kind, talkative, well groomed. Loves her style! Made conversation with us too. It was appreciated. They have outside seating but we stayed inside. They have YB's everywhere and provide good amount of seating. Nice and clean. Staff looks like they all get along and are friendly with eachother & customers. We will be back again.

Yelp
I absolutely love spending my Tuesdays here at the Sandbar. They have an amazing taco special and this is the place to get fully packed tacos. They are served on flour tortillas and packed with a ton of cheese with the protein of your choice. They have everything from shrimp, mahi-mahi, chicken, Carne Asada, and a vegetarian option as well. Hands-down the best part of coming here is when we get our server Christie. She is always smiling and a very efficient waitress. Very personable and really makes the trip more than worth it. This place is a great, local spot in Coconut Grove that has two entrances and plays typical sports bar hits from the past. highly recommend!

Yelp
My local sports bar, I live three blocks away so I'm always stopping by. I love that they're dog friendly! They have tasty food options, and the drinks aren't watered down. I've been coming here since 2003 and it will continue to do so, check down out!

Bill C.

Yelp
The menu says the mozzarella sticks are breaded, but in fact they're battered. They allow smoking on the patio under the mistaken belief that it's legal because it's outdoors but in fact the patio had a roof and smoking is therefore illegal.
google avatar

Nat V.

Yelp
Stopped for lunch. Food was fresh and tasty! Wish there was more lunch specials though. Would recommend for grabbing a quick lunch and catching up with friends. I tried the chicken tender wrap, we tried the tacos and a salad options and it was all very good. Service was excellent!

Yelp
This is a great college hangout. I learned how to play beer pong here a few years back. That being said, it's not really my cup of tea, or should I saw mug of beer. It's too loud and it's hard to order or talk to friends. The food is pretty decent though, and there's a nice front porch area. You have to find street parking, although anywhere in the Grove has the same. Service is pretty good, too.
google avatar

Ericka R.

Yelp
I went on a Saturday to watch a game and it was so packed full of students, very young crowd. There were no tables available inside and couldn't walk inside without bumping into someone. I ended up getting a table outside and it was very hot. There fan was broken, so yeah it was a sweaty night. I ordered the guacamole chips and to my surprise it was pretty good. Our waitress was very nice although very busy. The place is old. I guess it's ok to go watch a game and grab a beer with a couple of friends. But I wasn't a big fan.
google avatar

Julie G.

Yelp
Great service every time we have gone. Drinks are why we come back Sarah is our favorite waitress.

Melissa M.

Yelp
Inexpensive cocktail and friendly bartender. Good music. I didn't eat but the wings looked and smelled delicious.
google avatar

Cathy R.

Yelp
Went during the week in the middle of the day the place was pretty empty so service wasn't bad but wasn't great. The food is ok nothing really to write home about, the beer was cold and the music was decent over all it's an ok spot if your in the area nothing out of this world. Best part of the experience was that my dog was able to sit outside with us but had to give him water from my cup cause they didn't have a doggie bowl even though I called to see if they were pet friendly. The hot sauce was the best part of the meal. This place could use a better menu or better execution.
google avatar

Treasure F.

Yelp
I went here with family. I saw that they had outside seating but decided to go inside since it was a bit cool. Absolutely love the food. Our server was prompt and attentive and made sure we were straight and that everything was fine with us. Definitely will return soon.

Yelp
Food is good and the wait staff are super friendly. Eat here all the time for my lunch break
google avatar

Yelp
We visited for lunch. Service was excellent. The Toco Tuesday $1 tocos for lunch were great. My favorite were the pulled pork. I also had chicken, mahi and shrimp. Not much else to say, it is a sports bar after all. Menu is exactly what you would expect. We will visit here for lunch again.
google avatar

Yelp
Food so good that we ate there twice in a seven day trip to Coconut Grove. Do not pass up the Mahi Mahi tacos. Especially on taco Tuesday.
google avatar

Brien S.

Yelp
Came here based on previous reviews and was definitely pleased with my choice. Came for Taco Tuesday, had three delicious tacos; blackened shrimp & mahi and grilled chicken. The bartender Sarah was the best, the locals were so friendly and welcoming. Live music is another great part about this place.

Gage H.

Yelp
Service was great, friendly and efficient For food, wings and quesadilla made for a perfect snack
google avatar

Yelp
Food was fresh and delicious and not cooked till we ordered it... drinks were delicious as well! Cute bar
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious! Great service! Adorable space! Stellar prices! I've been meaning to try this place and finally got the chance to and was not disappointed. We will definitely be back!

Verona A.

Yelp
great place just make sure you don't get zuly as your server she's so rude and no attention to detail ! downloaded yelp just to let y'all know !
google avatar

Onesha L.

Yelp
Pretty good sports bar with big screen all around. The food is good and reasonably priced. Great place to watch a big game, but it can get a little loud. Service was okay, not bad just slow.
google avatar

Sydney S.

Yelp
A local bar with a good selection of beers and bar food. Lots of TV's, so it's a great game watching location. Service is slow during peak hours, but I think that's a given.
google avatar

Yelp
We recently moved to the neighborhood last month - and have already become regulars at Sandbar! We usually come for happy hour and taco Tuesday. Though the prices offered during those times are great, we really come back because the servers and bartenders are so attentive and sweet. Honestly, from our first interaction with Zuly, we really never had to ask ourselves where else to go - she gave us a complete orientation to the Grove and so much positive energy! Then we got to meet Kristin who always greets us with a warm smile and great stories. And ever since that, all of the employees at Sandbar have been welcoming and wonderful! Highly recommend!

Dre W.

Yelp
Sandbar is the best place in the Grove. It's old school fishing shack feel is amazing. Sha waited on us and was the best. So attentive to all our needs. The highlight of the day was Taylors ultimate sauce used on the Bahia fish tacos. Wow and double wow.

Henry M.

Yelp
Friendly staff, fun games, great for a beer or two even a cocktail. Plus a great place to watch the game or a game .
google avatar

Aileen R.

Yelp
I'm pretty much a regular here on taco Tuesday awesome spot with an awesome price point. Healthy tacos, beef, chicken, fish or shrimp. My fav. The service is on-point always alert when you look for help. Divey but clean. Will definitely keep coming back.
google avatar

LuxMiami K.

Yelp
Always great service & really great food. Shay the bartender is fabulous & always quick & polite. We love coming here & return frequently. We have Never had a bad experience & always had a wonderful meal. Super Sports bar with TVs everywhere!
google avatar

Thomas B.

Yelp
Horrible, don't come here! Came here at 9:30 and the man who took our ID was looking at if for 5 minutes and refused service! And we are both 23. Whatever this place sucks anyways, Flanigan's it is!!
google avatar

Isabel C.

Yelp
Cool spot for tacos, Pulled Pork tacos I gotta say are my fav. If you aren't into crowded places this place isn't for you haha but the ambiance is nice and the service is okay, orders can take a bit to come out but it's always fresh !!
google avatar

C. A.

Yelp
The Blackened Shrimp Tacos are a must. Outdoor seating is great. Great central location in Coconut Grove. Excellent selection of local craft beer. Friendly bar tenders.
google avatar

Karen B.

Yelp
So we came for the Heat game and the TVs were amazing. The crowd is mostly younger because a DJ is there entertaining during commercials. Food was less than tasty and service is mediocre because gratuity is included, always. Also they make you leave a card on file with them. All in all, not my scene. Too loud, too crowded and food mehhh
google avatar

Scott J.

Yelp
Good service Fair value for money in this area Slightly above average on the food o meter for the standard bar fair
google avatar

Lisandra P.

Yelp
I haven't been here since my college days , and especially for the penny beers. Being here today brought so many memories.I like how they remodel the bar. After Sandbar was on the show, I do have to say that the food has gotten better. I ordered the chicken fajitas and it comes with peppers, onions, yellow rice , black beans , guacamole, sour cream, cheese, and pico de gallo. It was really good !
google avatar

Marissa G.

Yelp
My group enjoyed our experience here. We dined during happy hour and enjoyed both our drinks and meals. Our waitress Yasmine was pleasant and bubbly. Service was great and the atmosphere enhanced our experience. I ordered two tacos -- one shrimp and one mahi mahi. There was a bit too much mayo in the slaw for my liking, but otherwise, the fish was very well prepared.
google avatar

Matthew S.

Yelp
A pitcher of Jai Ali is $40 the music was ok. The bathrooms were less crowded than other places. Sandbar at the time was running good and drink service. It was 8pm. A pitcher of Jai Ali that costed $30 at Barracuda's cost $40 at Sandbar. That's all I'm trying to say
google avatar

Wendy A.

Yelp
We liked their drinks, as we went only for that last weekend. Friday they have games, and I love to see adults getting excited to play some Trivia Game!! They had music but the place was a little dark for me. We park on the street and paid with the pay by phone app.
google avatar

Rolando G.

Yelp
You want to hit up the grove? This is one of the spots that you can't miss. Great vibes all around, thanks to Gaby and Ash who definitely made my night. They were the best bartenders: sweet, attentive and excellent - thank you! Night adventures? Young fun starts at 11pm. Grab the pool table in the back, sit back with a few beers, and meeting everyone. If beer doesn't make you as good at pool as it does for me, just sit by and watch as the mingling happens. If you're a mingler, go hit the nail on its head - this is your night spot. Beer is affordable, great selection on draft -- crowd is very Miami, and the $14 sampler tasted great!
google avatar

Alina Z.

Yelp
They've renovated the place and while it doesn't feel as UM anymore, it's really beautiful! New tvs, floors, tables, signs, and overall feel makes it seem like it's brand new. Happy to see they didn't permanently close!
google avatar

Christopher L.

Yelp
Geez, bring back " The hungry sailor" already. This establishment has just been dragging through the past 20 years with frozen French fries, and Costco burgers. The only light in this dark hole is "taco Tuesday" where Grovite's are permitted to purchase tacos for $2.00 each. Pray Bobby is cooking, good luck getting your drink order right.

Rena B.

Yelp
Gavin was our bartender and he was excellent. Very knowledgeable about the beer selection and suggested a local beer that really hit the spot! The food was typical bar food. Do not expect anything fancy lol. The vibe was chill.
google avatar

Angelina R.

Yelp
I can't rate the actual establishment, as I ordered delivery from Uber Eats while out of town on work. But, would love to actually check the place out... especially since I noticed it was formerly on the show 'Bar Rescue'. Who wouldn't want to go judge after the fact (after watching the episode)?! The food was delish. I mean, I honestly expected microwaved rice & beans... theirs actually have FLAVOR! That is a rarity from the stock-pile-cooked "authentic" I am used to. So, I think maybe they add a decent amount of seasoning, or know what they are doing & actually cooking it! Props on the side dishes... I just wish what was standard was included as an actual meal with the fish tacos I also ordered. I mean, paying $3.75 for EACH taco on its own is a little asinine & annoying. Make it a meal, already! Most everywhere else serves their fish tacos as 2-3 served with rice & beans... not hard! But, thus, I had to order the $3.75 for rice & beans on the side after paying individually for 2 mahi-mahi tacos. Just put that $11.50 total, and make it a combo meal instead of a pain to order. But, the food is good! They top their tacos decent- even add cheese! Step up from those who scimp on their fish tacos & only try to add some shredded lettuce or cabbage & cilantro. The tacos DID come with fries, however. But, the menu didn't state that, and they are just the generic, cheap crinkle steak fries. But the delivery came with the sour cream & pico I requested on the side (haven't checked, but I hope they didn't charge me an arm & a leg for that like some places!) plus, they put silverware, ketchup & all legit items in to-go bag. Packed awesome. So, props on food & to-go aspects. They rock. Just, please make your tacos a meal deal! I do look forward to visiting the actual establishment & checking it out from that perspective.

Yelp
It was a Wednesday we got there at 7:30 p.m. sat at an outside table that was filthy with the last diner's food, they tried to feed us without wiping down the table. Tried to order extra drinks to keep up with the slow pace of delivery and it never happened. The main course came a half an hour later, 15 minutes after that the appetizer came. All the deep fried food was absolutely fried in a dirty bath of oil dark but not cooked through. The only thing good about this experience was our own company with each other.
google avatar

Yelp
This is hands down one of the best sports bars I have ever been to. The food is delicious and reasonably priced for the area. Every Tuesday they have a Taco Tuesday special and the tacos are only $2. The staff is very informative and extremely friendly (especially Kristen). I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking to watch a game in a fun atmosphere and also enjoy a delicious meal!
