Miami’s Tourist Trap Restaurants That Are Actually Good | Eater Miami

"Everyone visiting (or living) in Miami seeks the best Cuban sandwich, and this tiny spot (now with several locations) that got a nod from the Michelin Guide stands out as the real deal. Everything, including bread, pickles, and mustard, is made in-house. The croqueta preparada sandwich (ham, pork, croquettes, Swiss cheese, and mustard) is a popular favorite, but there’s no wrong choice." - Alona Martinez

The Cubanos and alkaline waters were exactly what we needed after landing in Miami! The sandwiches had a crunchy exterior, melted cheese, hot meats, a light pickle and a great dipping sauce with the perfect dash of horseradish. I normally opt out for horseradish, but it was perfectly balanced in that sauce; I used every bit!

Google
Shippable. Went for the Cuban sandwich and it left me wanting more. America often goes for quantity over quality and this was one of those times. The sandwich was big but it was boring. Needed a punch. Even with added hot sauce I found it mid. Cool atmosphere being right on the bay. Service remarkably slow. 30 min wait for my sandwich.

Google
Sanguich makes one of the best Cuban sandwiches you’ll ever have—packed with flavor and perfectly balanced. The bread is incredible: crisp on the outside, soft and fresh on the inside, holding everything together beautifully. It’s a must-try for anyone craving authentic Cuban flavors!

Google
You CANNOT leave Miami if you haven't try this sandwich spot.. its DELICIOUS soo much flavor for something that sounds so simple, make no mistake, (there's nothing simple about it) the Sauce, the bread, everything is top tier, the lechon one was my favorite, ask for their own hot sauce if youre looking for a spicy kick to it. Mouth watering 😋 😍

Google
The food, while good, was not the best Cuban I've ever had. The bread on their flagship Cubano sandwich felt a tad too chewy and dense. The croquet were very good. They only have a counter and a small outside seating area, which was completely full. This makes for a sweaty dining experience. Also, Bayside is, and will always be, one of the biggest tourist traps in South Florida.

One of the best Cubano sandwiches, rightly toasted with Swiss cheese and that light garlic sauce is the ultimate combo. Delicious and definitely a must try!

Google
This is a famous sandwich shop I have been wanting to try for a long time. I believe their main location is in Little Havana. I follow an influencer and he always speaks that this is the best sandwich place in Miami, so when I saw it, I had to try it. I almost missed it, if it wasn’t for the girls showing the menus, I would have never seen it. They should add a menu stand with lights or something, or a Halloween monster butler for now, something to stop people, otherwise people might miss out on this gem. There is a bar next door called Lola Bar who has definitely overflowed their tables/chairs with decorations within their own bar, skipped this shop, and continued to overflow within the closed restaurants next to this shop. So like I mentioned before, it’s easy to miss. However, Sanguich is in a great location though, you can enjoy the music from Lola bar and people watch. Irina helped us, she is really sweet and super attentive. She gave us great suggestions. We went for the croquetas, boniato fries, pan con bistec sandwich, cubano sandwich, croqueta sandwich, and cafe con leche. My favorite was the cubano sandwich. They were all greatly priced at less than $15 for these huge sandwiches. I grew up in Hialeah, and I must say, these sandwiches live up to the hype, they were delicious. We were missing the croqueta sandwich in the video.

Google
I was strolling through Bayside Marketplace and stopped to get a Cubano at Sanguich. It was definitely one of the best Cubanos I've ever had! Service was quick even though they were pretty busy for lunch. Great spot for a delicious sanguich!

Yelp
Super crispy and delicious cuban! Beautiful ocean front view, with the nicest workers! Definitely recommend stopping by for a quick eat!

Yelp
It can get crazy busy, but it's worth the wait - their sandwiches are the gem of Calle Ocho! The bar top is great conversation and people watching.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place! I had their cortado and Cuban sandwich, and they were both incredible--so good, in fact, that I had to get another sandwich to go. I'd 100% recommend this spot to anyone visiting Miami who wants an authentic taste of Cuban cuisine. The service was fast, and the open-air ambiance was perfect for enjoying the meal. Definitely a must-visit!

Yelp
3.25 stars? Disclaimer - while I love sandwiches, I've had probably five cubanos in my life (one from little Cuba that wasn't here, years ago; others outside of Miami). We passed on the little Cuba location because the line was too long but maybe it was long for a reason. The sandwiches at this location are just okay. Tried the Sanguich Cubano and Croquetta Preparada recommended by the infatuation. Wish I tried the pan con leche. Great service. Outdoor seating next to a hookah bar, so if you go at night be ready to be next to party vibes.

Yelp
Tried a new restaurant today. Food was great. The location is great right on the waterfront. Our waiter was really helpful in helping us make our food choices.

Yelp
I am not sure if Sanguich's Cuban sandwich is authentic but it was absolutely delicious! This location pier front was a little difficult to find in this harbor mall but its water side, first floor. I got the Cuban for Take Away, for the plane ride home. The sever didn't speak English but it's Miami and I speak food in any language. I must add that it was expertly packed and raised eyebrows on my flight home. Yum

Yelp
Great spot for quick, authentic Cuban food at Bayfront. We got our food rather quickly. It's walk up order style, so you're not being waited on but they bring your food and clear the table. Both the fries and Cubanos were delicious. Loved the sauces the fries came with. There were probably 8 tables to sit at so not a lot but we were there during a weekday and it wasn't busy. View of the water and boats was an added bonus. Great view, great food and great service. Will be back.

Yelp
If you're looking for legit Cuban sandwiches, don't pass Sanguich by! The croquettes are also a must try. They come with a tasty sauce. We tried a couple spots around Miami and Sanguich has been my favorite so far. There's several locations around the city.

Yelp
Love love love this place. I got the media noche and it was so delicious. Lovely little spot in bayside with views of the water. Service was great, will definitely be revisiting.

Yelp
This place had great sandwiches! I went to the restaurant and ordered and it didn't take long to prepare. I also got an iced coffee, which was good but not my favorite. Would definitely check out for the food!

Yelp
We ordered the lechon, chicharones and the Bistek. From packaging, presentation and flavor.. all impeccable. The sauces were delicious and worth it. Difficult parking but well worth it. I suggest ordering online for a quick pick up. This place will be on my fave list! Beautiful foodie experience,

Yelp
Compared to the tiny restaurant in Calle 8, this is a completely different dining experience. WIth ample seating and no lines, you are able to enjoy the food and ambiance and have a conversation with your fellow diners. Sandwiches are nicely done, with the crusty, somewhat greasy bread you expect from Cuban-style sandwiches. I had the pan con lechon, which was very good. The croquetas are huge, and the boniato fries are very tasty.

Yelp
The best sandwiches in Miami! They are sooooo delicious. Although it's a tight space & hard to get into during busy time, the wait is ALWAYS worth it.

Yelp
One can never have enough of a good thing. And even less when it's not only good but amazing. Heard that Sanguich opened in Bayside and I had to try it out. Unlike their other locations, this only has outdoor seating but truly where else would you want to sit while at Bayside. The people watching alone is worth it. We decided to grab some of their Cuban Nachos which is a brilliant twist on regular nachos. This version includes super crispy plantain chips loaded with shredded pork and the most amazing picked onions along with a delicious aoli drizzle that makes your mouth zing. I've never had anything like this and it's brilliant. That along with a Trigo shake which is always on point. In fact, I think I've tried all their shakes and it's impossible to find a favorite because they're all amazing. And of course I grabbed a Cuban sandwich to go because when in Rome. Their sandwiches are always on point. From the bread to the ham and the pork everything is equally delicious. Service was quick and always friendly. I mean there's no doubt why they are a three-time Michelin Bib Gourmand-winner. So when in Bayside definitely check them out.

Yelp
Not as good as little Havana. Lesser menu and not as much coffee. Somewhat disappointed

Rachel B.

Yelp
We never found this place. We went around the area several times as we really want to try the cuban sandwich but never found it. Are they closed? It doesn't say on google maps.

Ben L.

Yelp
Out of this world Cuban sandwich. Worth the drive for lunch. Long wait if you want to sit... we ordered to go at the window (we went on a Saturday). Highly recommend

Paige F.

Yelp
Amazing sandwiches and the perfect cure for a hangover... highly recommend Pan Con Bistec and the Cuban

Yelp
Didn't love my Sanguich. This place was in the corner where construction was taking place. It was noisy and small. Service was good, but the food was lacking and overpriced in my opinion. Wouldn't go back.

Melissa H.

Yelp
Best sandwich I have had! Staff was super friendly and the food was stellar at the best price around! Would definitely come back.
