I don’t really know how to rate this because it was so hyped that I almost feel like there was another public market or there was another part of the public market that I missed. When you go, don’t have that high of an expectation. There were approximately eight food stalls open and in business. That’s all I’ve got. Oh, Rori’s ice cream was delicious.

We had our New Year’s party here, and it was fantastic! The place was beautifully decorated for the holiday, creating such a festive atmosphere. Natalie was amazing — she accommodated us on such short notice and made everything run smoothly. Everyone was happy with the food choices; there was something for everyone. I’ve held events at the Santa Barbara Public Market before the pandemic, and it was always great, but this year was exceptional. I definitely plan on hosting more events here in the future. Highly recommend!

Fun and casual atmosphere. We ate at the Corazon Cantina and it did not disappoint. The Mercado quesadilla was delish and the salsa choices were all delicious! There’s great choices of cuisine for every one.

After two brisk walks around the market, I decided to eat at Empty Bowl Gourmet Noodle Bar. I had the Hangover Noodles with tofu. The spice level was high, and the flavor profile was deep. Delicious! Then I popped over to Little Heart Cafecito for some coconut rice pudding with pineapple glaze as dessert, a recommendation from their barista. She was correct it was divine. The Public Market is the perfect place to go when you're not sure what to eat. Over half a dozen excellent options at great prices.

Was there for a quick to go order. It was around 12pm on a week day and wasn't too busy. We got Thai food which was good to my family but a bit salty for me. It's a nice atmosphere overall.

Great place to go get a reasonable and great tasting, quality ingredients meal. Great drinks too. Great fun friendly atmosphere! Plus, there's a venue to rent for events which is reasonable and really well put together! The place is very clean, that's something I noticed and appreciate.

This place is like a food court when it gets crowded but food is good. We found lot of vegetarian and vegan options here so we were happy. Fala bar was our favourite, everything is vegan so you don’t have to think twice about anything and amazing taste. We found 2 veggie tacos at Corazon Cocino which were really good and had vegan dish of the day from empty bowl noodle bar. Overall good food

Great place to come and eat or drink. We chose to eat at Corazon Cocina but there were plenty of options. The Thai place looked very good as did a couple of other places. The bar was packed and looked like a great place to come and hang out with friends or make new ones.

this was a cool place to visit, esp if you're w people who want diff types of food! there's a good selection of cuisines and even some dessert! they have big open seating areas and big tv's playing diff sports games. I went w my family as we were visiting sb and it was a really fun place! we went on a thurs afternoon and it was p packed. this is a family- and I think pet- friendly place (as I saw a few dogs inside). they had an ice cream shop, some asian restaurants, and even a vegan place (which was great for my mom). the falafel plate from fala bar was probably the best thing we got! we also got sushi from wabi sabi, which was overpriced and not that great imo. my nephew ordered a banh mi from three monkeys which i think he liked and his friend got a burger from little bird. it was fun being able to try diff sorts of things and finding something everyone will like (although they might not all be good choices). there wasn't a huge wait for anything and some places have a buzzer system where you walk to them when your buzzer goes off or they will find you and serve you your food. I think this is a good casual spot to hang out, grab food/drinks, and watch sports (if you're into that)!

A beautiful market with lots of options for food and drinks. We spent the NY's eve at the public market (at Cooney's) and had Mexican food from one of the restaurants opposite to the bar. Nice experience. Will recommend!

What is going on with places? Just because prices went up with pandemic times now places are continuing to raise prices or skimp on portions, I guess just because they can, and think we won't notice. Stopped at SB Public Market and ordered two beers and chicken strips and fries from the new Cooney's at the market. Grand total $34.65 and they automatically added a tip without telling us. Chicken strips came with four very small chicken strips and the fries. See picture. Just okay tasting. Definitely still hungry. Service was adequate but nothing special. Have always liked stopping here when downtown but not sure l'll rush back. We need to start searching for better stop by places.

Santa Barbara Public Market was a wonderful reccommendation by our AirBnB host! College reunion besties visited Santa Barbara over the weekend and has a great Saturday afternoon at Santa Barbara Public Market! Private parking lot with elevator access to the market. We walked around the place to determine where to eat. We all decided on Corizin Cocina. Some of us had a taste for Cerviche and wow! Amazingly tasty! We ordered the Birria tacos and quesdillas, soup, and two different cerviches. I could tell by the line that Corazon Cocina is a popular place. A great place for lunch with friends and beloved pets. Different types of foods in the market, a variety of prices;so valuable I wanted to try many different foods Cheers!~

The place is incredible. Good food and good drinks, but It is not a recommended place to come with your children, especially if you are bringing a babies. They only have one baby changing station and unfortunately it's inside the toilet room. Yesterday I had a terrible experience with a worker from Little bird kitchen. He was using his phone while he was taking a shit and it took him more than 15 min to get out of the restroom. Its incredible that with more 10 businesses inside the plaza, we have to share a single toilet, for the whole community.

This five star review is truly for one item: Little Heart Cafecito's Horchata Tres Leches. Little Heart Cafecito and Corazón Cocina I'm fairly certain actually share a kitchen, so if you're ordering a cake at Corazón, they quite literally walk to Little Heart and grab one from there. The Horchata Tres Leches is everything you want in a tres leches: super moist, creamy, sweet but not overwhelmingly so, and the perfect cinnamon levels. I would literally stop by here just for this one dessert and if the other items at Corazón Cocina are half as good, then they definitely deserve the reputation they've built. As food halls / public markets go, this one is quite small at about ~10 ish stalls. There's plenty of parking lots nearby with the first 2 hours being free, which is very convenient. We stopped by for dinner at around 6PM on a Sunday and there were were plenty of tables and no lines anywhere (besides for ice cream).

This was the coolest area with a bunch of different amazing food spots. It's great to watch games and get some drinks too. This is a must stop spot if you are visiting Santa Barbra. You can't go wrong with any of the food options in there.

This is a really cool spot. As far as I can tell, just about every cuisine--including vegan--is represented here. I wish there was a little more open seating (i.e., seating not designated to any one specific vendor) but I guess you can't have everything. They've got pizza, vegan, ice cream, Mexican, Asian, Middle Eastern, burgers, coffee, and sushi. There might be other cuisines. They've also got beer and wine. We only had ice cream here but all of the food looked terrific. I could gain some serious weight here.

This was a decent public market. It has an okay selection of restaurants. Looked like majority of the customers were in line for empty bowl when I came on Sunday. Besides for the food it's not particularly hip or anything. It's not bad.

It's a cool place to try different foods with free parking. It is downtown I believe, hence the roads are a little tight but they have a good number of parking spots outside and underground (with an elevator to the food court). They have a good number of restaurants and most of them are open. We tried Pizza and drunken noodles from the Thai restaurant. Both of them are good. The drunken noodles are of good quantity and I liked the sauce in it. The pizza was just like a regular cheese nothing special.

This food hall served as a great place for me and my large group of colleagues to grab dinner and drinks. Exposed soaring ceilings over a clean, industrial yet stylish and casual decor lend to a relaxed, aesthetically pleasing environment. Some in our group had the Mexican food, some went with Thai, and I and others opted for the pizzeria. Everyone enjoyed their food, without exception. There were no complaints. My carnivore pizza was delicious! The crust was perfectly thin and tasty. Even their wine (I opted for the Barolo,) was the perfect pairing. After dinner, many of us descended upon the ice cream shop, and the "itty bitty" that I had was a generous two flavors: rich and wonderfully flavorful! The homey surprise of buttery graham cracker crust in the strawberry cheesecake was divine, and the black pepper pistachio was the perfectly creamy expression of pistachios. The market is an excellent option for large groups to satisfy all!

Love Public Markets, and this is a good one. Great variety of food options. Mexican, Thai, vegan falafel, pizza, Asian noodles, sushi, Santa Maria BBQ, ice cream and coffee. Cool sitting areas, and even TVs for the sports fans. Definitely recommend and will return.

Santa Barbara Public Market is Santa Barbara's version of modern food hall and it started in April 2014. The food hall is located near the ARTS District of downtown Santa Barbara (on and around the 1100 -1300 blocks of State Street). [Parking]: I was able to find an outdoor public parking lot (City Lot #5 - 1230 Chapala St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101) and free parking for the first 75 minutes. Apparently there's also free underground parking available behind Santa Barbara Public Market off Chapala St. [Vendors]: The market got plenty of solid options such as Rori's Artisanal Creamery (exceptional ice cream shop), Corazon Cocina (a popular counter serving Mexican street food), Empty Bowl Gourmet Noodle Bar (another popular counter serving Thai comfort street food), Ca'Dario Pizzeria Veloce (pretty empty), Shalhoob's at the Market (has a section with TVs playing sports - area is open to anyone), Wabi Sabi (sushi bar closes from 2 PM to 4:30 PM), Fala Bar (Middle Eastern cuisine & 100% vegan), Little Heart Cafecito (locally-roasted Mexican coffee), etc. Despite this food hall only has 10 vendors and many food halls in Los Angeles/Orange County have more vendors & souvenir shops, I think Santa Barbara Public Market is still a pretty solid food hall due to (1) easy and free parking (2) above-average food/dessert options (3) proximately to the ARTS District & 3 blocks away from Santa Barbara County Courthouse Gardens. Definitely a great spot to hang out with friends, have a romantic date, or check out for the first time visitors.

Have been going to the Santa Barbara Public Market since it opened. It's evolved over the years. Started out as a grocery store with a handful of restaurants. A butcher, a bread place, etc. Now all restaurants with the Cooney's bar at the front with a million TVs. Really is something for everyone! Small restaurants. Roris Ice cream, Thai, Vietnamese, Sushi, Mexican, Burgers, etc. Oh - Wood fired pizza, a noodle bar and a deli and Fala which is all vegan. So if you are not sure what you want to eat - go here!!

Seems like food courts have rebranded to "food hall" recently, and this is one of the nicer ones that I have been to. There was ample seating when we were there. It was about 75% full. We were able to get a comfy booth without much waiting. I really liked the greenery in the space. There was also a good variety of vendors to cover whatever you are in the mood for. After taking a lap (or several), we decided to try Shalhoob, Fala Bar, and Little Heart Cafecito. I was interested in the noodles at Empty Bowl, and someone walked by with a banh mi from Three Monkeys that looked pretty good. At Shalhoob, we got a burger and smothered fries (cheese, grilled onions, and a mayo sauce over fries) . It was pretty heavy, and the burger was a tad salty for my taste. The taste overall was good. To balance it out, we got the Baba plate at Fala. We were impressed with how fresh the ingredients tasted. Little Heart Cafecito had the standard coffee drinks, and a big selection of desserts in the glass case. I was curious about the various flavors of tres leches cakes and the orange flan. We'll have to try it next time!

Stopped by to try the other morning once I heard they were open and it was definitely worth the wait! Everyone was really nice at the counter, the super nice lady suggested i try the bagel and Lox just cas its their staple classic and was def so happy i did. I'm from east coast and never rlly have had too good experiences with bagel lox situations out here but wexlers saved the day !!! Can't wait to try the rest of menu :)

Stopped in here for a quick bite on a Sunday evening and was fascinated by all of the venues inside that are available for dining. . After perusing a few menus, I settled on the first venue I saw upon walking in, Corazón Cocina only because they have plátanos on the menu. Not to mention their two year old Michelin plaque and winning the Best of Santa Barbara 2023 by a local paper. Plantains are a staple and instant memory of my Afro-Latino-Caribbean upbringing and always have me in a chokehold when I see them anywhere. . I ordered the plantains and beans combo with the queso fresco on the side (not pictured) the mole con pollo taco and the horchata. Trying the horchata first, it was a cream dream with the specks of cinnamon in every sip. It's also vegan as they make with almond milk. The taco was big and juicy without being messy. I love the crisp rice and how they lightly toasted the tortilla. . Portions appear small, but I was definitely full off of $23 worth of food. It was busy, so make sure you know what you want to keep the line moving. The dining room was clean for a busy Sunday night and the cashier was friendly and efficient. One of the employees even helped me as she was leaving her shift (she had her coat on). I can see and taste why they are well received. . Will def try other places in here the next time I'm in SB!

Love this food hall in downtown Santa Barbara. So much variety to choose from. Ice cream, alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages, vegetarian food, Asian food including Thai, Japanese & Chinese, Mexican food, etc. Street parking. Spacious place with something for everyone. Clean place with clean bathrooms too. Good friendly service by all the vendors here. So glad we always have this food hall to come to.

Such a great place with a variety of food options. From sushi to thai to tacos and burgers, you'll sure find something good to eat here. When I was visiting, my group got a variety of different things from several vendors: thai beef salad and noodles from Empty Bowl Noodles, adobada taco and quesadilla from Corazon Cocina, rainbow salad from Three Monkeys. Everything was very good. Definitely will come back next time visiting.

Coming from The Social in The Valley, Smorgasburg in DTLA and Central Market also in DTLA I didn't really set any expectations for this Public Market. There's tons of public parking and I visited on the weekend, love that they have indoor and outdoor seating. And while there's still remnants of empty spaces no thanks for pandy and inflation the space was really lively. The light fixtures were unique and the space didn't feel claustrophobic like LA Markets. Prices are at par to what the market is right now (nothing is relatively cheap anymore) I have to say the quality and quantity of food here is supreme compare to Topanga Social. I would looove to see a BBQ spot here seeing they already have beer on tap and a mini Jolly Oyster shack

Fun spot! Underground parking, food variety, enough seating, lots of TVs to watch games, delicious Thai food and good customer service. Bathrooms should be expanded in my opinion because they only have two stalls for all of the restaurants at the market.

We love food halls & the Santa Barbara Public Market was no different! Parking is available underneath free 2 hour parking. We took the elevator up & walked right in. So many great choices for food spots- pizza, Mexican food, Thai food, vegan, etc. We tried Rori's ice cream & loved it! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating- great family friendly spot with lots of great food choices.

Santa Barbara's food hall is called the Public Market and is situated on Victoria Street. The place is small but extremely well maintained and has a good vibe. Choices to eat here are limited. There is Thai, Mexican, Ice Cream, Sushi, to name a few. The dominant food merchants are Corazon Cocina and the Empty Bowl. I have reviewed the former eatery on this platform. There is lively music and the staff from all the vendors are friendly. There is ample seating, both inside and out and the destination is worth a visit.

I really enjoy the P.M. every time we go there. Today was hot so we thought we would go down there around early evening time for food and drinks. It was warmer inside than out. With all of that massive duct work and about a dozen A/C ceiling mounted units it was warm and stagnant. Curious as to why there was zero air movement from cooled air.

Located in DT Santa Barbara is this cute food hall that offers tons of food options and a bar. SB Public market is a great place to eat/drink with a group of friends, go on a date, etc. the sushi and the mango sticky rice I ordered was fresh, delicious and perfectly made. My only complaint is that the food is on the pricey side.

Great place. Lots of food options. We didn't care that there were dogs there, when a sign at the door clearly says "Service Dogs Only". This should be enforced. Dogs were barking the entire time we were eating.

I had high hopes for Santa Barbra Public Market. Having been to many of the major food halls I've seen how great this concept can be. My initial impressions is that it's a cool place to visit.  There are the things you come to expect from a food hall like: a bar, ice cream place, coffee and other eateries.   Walking around there were only a few places that I would like to try.  There was a ramen place I believe that was really popular, a Mexican food place and ice cream place seem to be the most popular, my wife and daughter tried the ice cream and said it was really good. My only con was that there were so few options to try.  We only ended up trying the ice cream place and I got a beer at The Garden.  Mind you, we came here AFTER going out to dinner. I believe this food hall is relatively new, so it may take some time before they get additional unique tenants, so for now I see the potential. I look forward to seeing this place evolve.

4.5 stars for the fish taco at Corazón Cocina (pretty expensive but it was pretty good) . 3.8 star for the quesadilla. Not amazing The Thai place stir fry was nothing special. Too sweet and saucy. No spice. To make it spicy, they give you this weird sour pickled peppers. Not authentic

A good spot to go when you can't decide what you want to eat, or to meet up with a group of people, especially when everyone has different food preferences. There are a variety of food counters and you just place your order and they'll give you a buzzer to let you know when to return to pick up your order. Some beer, wine, not sure if there were any cocktails but it's something for everyone. There are tables which you seat yourselves at inside as well as outdoors. We got a sushi roll, some Thai noodles, & sides, and a tri tip sandwich. That tri tip sandwich hit the spot, it was really delicious.

The Santa Barbara Public Market has a good range of food options and nice seating outdoors, though it tends to be a little pricey. Four of us ordered from three different places (Shalhoob's, Wabi Sabi, and Ca'Dario), and all enjoyed our food.

With the energy I was feeling yesterday I had to escape to be alone with my highest self. I journaled and wrote myself much needed affirmations to stay centered. I reminded myself that low vibrations must be felt in order to transform. It truly helped me to be able to go to a place filled with others enjoying good food and good company. I love watching others be happy. The staff was so diligent and truly seemed to care for their jobs. I recommend to everyone. Those looking for a place to release and remember why life is so amazing, to those wanting to satisfy everyone's tastes buds! So many options. Such good intentions. 10/10

Food: a lot of great variety (Italian, Thai, Japanese, Beer Hall, etc) Service: great, but did have to wait, since it was freshly made Design: love these adaptive reuse projects, where you breath new life into these old historic buildings Overall: if you want to go to a cool, hip place with a group of friends and/or family that can't decide on a single place, then this is the place for you

Every true European town has to have a public market. So if Santa Barbara is to appear as 'European', then it too shall have a market. Now don't expect La Boquería, Camden Market, or even Pike Place Market...otherwise you will be deeply disappointed! Between all of our local Santa Barbara neighborhood farmers markets, the public market instead is more of a "Food Hall" that's open daily with various dining establishments for every palate. So while you won't find many goods, flowers or the like, they do offer some wonderful food options, including: - Mexican: Corazón Cocina - Thai: Empty Bowl - Sushi & Japanese: Wabi Sabi - Beer Garden and Gastropub: The Garden - Mediterranean (Vegan/Vegetarian): Fala Bar - Pizza: Ca'Dario - Santa Barbara BBQ (NEW as of 03/2022): Shalhoob's at the Market - Artisanal Ice Cream: Rori's Sadly, the business turn-over is frequent--particularly during Covid. However, I see hope in several popular spots that bring in tourists and locals alike back and back again. During lunch hours on the weekdays it is bustling which is a wonderful site! I would like to see more culture and local art to liven up the space, but it is a nice place to have in town.

They have ample indoor and patio seating. Unfortunately, some of the food stalls were vacant. We only tried two of the stalls: Corazon Cocina and Rori's Artisanal Ice cream. All the stalls were busy as we dropped by at lunchtime. It's a nice place to grab a bite. There's underground parking available and

I'm such a fan of the public market! It's similar to a nicer food court with multiple casual restaurants and a clean bathroom in the back. Each restaurant has its own seating, but you can also take the food to go and sit outside at the tables and expanded parklet. There are also pretty tile steps and an archway where you can take your basic Santa Barbara photos (I'm guilty!). The Public Market is a great place to go with friends because each person, including that one picky friend we all have, will be able to find something he/she would like with all the options. There are Thai noodles at Empty Bowl, pizza at Ca'Dario Pizzeria, sushi at Wabi Sabi, Mexican at Corazon Cocina, ice cream at Rori's, and more. I'm excited to see what new restaurants will fill up the empty stalls! I also really appreciate that a worker outside takes care of your trash and correctly sorts through what is recyclable, compostable, or just trash. Takeout generates a lot of single-use waste, so at least the waste will be properly disposed of??

This is a lot like San Pedro square in San Jose. A large building with several restaurants. There's a huge bar that's playing sports. Soccer was on when I was there. They have pizza, tacos, sushi, wine and more. Nice place for a meal or hanging out.

The market was recommended by our wedding photographer and we don't regret checking it out. The Public Market had several options for food and drinks. A lot of room and seats to eat at. We ended up eating at the Empty Bowl Gourmet Noodle Shop. We were absolutely impressed by the special of the day (Fried rice) and Pad Thai. We eat a lot of Thai food and these were really tasty! Couldn't have enough. We'll be going back before we drive back to Los Angeles!
