The 19 Best Coffee Shops In Seattle

"Every time we step inside Santo, we get the sudden urge to become real estate agents just so we can take client meetings here. Maybe it has something to do with the black marble bar, green velvet sofas, and floor-to-ceiling windows. But it also has something to do with the serious espresso they serve. This Roosevelt spot is partly owned by Fredy Montero of the Seattle Sounders, so the beans are exclusively sourced from Colombia. The resulting coffee drinks are stellar, whether you’re in the mood for a cortado or the panela—a latte with sugar cane and orange bitters that tastes excellent scalding hot or on the rocks. " - aimee rizzo, gabe guarente

Google
Great atmosphere, tasty coffee, and reliable wifi! The vibes alone make me want to work here, but who can complain about having nice unique coffee too? I had the panela latte which was delicious!

Google
Great coffee and matcha! Limited food options, wish they had more. Good vibes and aesthetic.

Google
Absolutely stunning interior! I got their vanilla latte and while it was good the roast was very light, so that’s something to consider. If you wanted a stronger coffee flavor I’d opt for their other options. But the service was excellent and it was a gorgeous space.

Google
The only drip coffee worth drinking! So delicious! It was thick, bold and flavorful. All-too-often, coffee shops, even well-known ones, give you watered down poor-tasting coffee but Santo did not. They exceeded my expectations. The environment was great for work, study and conversation. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Bathrooms clean. The decor was very nice. I enjoyed my experience and will return. This coffee shop is better than others in the area but I’ll still stop by other shops to show some love.

Santo Coffee Co is an excellent spot for studying. The ambiance is welcoming and conducive to focus, with plenty of comfortable seating and natural light. The coffee is top-notch, offering a wide range of well-crafted beverages to keep you energized through long study sessions. The staff is friendly and attentive, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Additionally, the free Wi-Fi and ample power outlets make it convenient for students. Overall, Santo Coffee Co provides a perfect blend of great coffee, a comfortable setting, and necessary amenities for productive studying.

Google
This is one of my favourite coffee shops in Seattle. My husband and I ordered a cappuccino and iced latte. Both were excellent and gave us different layers of textures, flavours and smoothness. I would love to go back and try other other coffee beverages. The interior design and decors were phenomenal that once we stepped into the coffee shop from the main entrance, we loved their green luxury sofa with accessories. A shelf with different retail items on the other side matched the sofa. The coffee shop logo with great drawing or painting on the wall drew our attention right away. The customer service was great. We only saw male baristas. All of them were great. We could see they knew what they were doing and they have good relationships with some of the customers who probably live in the neighbourhood.

Google
Modifying my review after giving Santo Coffee another visit. Busy Saturday morning but staff greeted everyone pleasantly. Started with an Espresso that came accompanied by soda water and it was great. Feeling optimistic, I jumped back in line and ordered a Cortado. It was well executed both presentation and taste.

Google
Delicious coffee, authentic staff with hearts of gold, amazing ambiance. Run, don’t walk to hang out here! Best coffee shop in the city!

Yelp
I come visit Santo often! and I can honestly say it was an experience that warmed my heart! From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the friendly of the staff. The cozy atmosphere made me feel right at home. What truly impressed me was the passion and care that goes into every cup. I ordered their vanilla late and mocha , and it was absolutely delightful! You could taste the quality of the ingredients and the love that was put into making it. It was not just a drink; it was a little piece of happiness in a cup. The owner Mike took the time to chat with me, sharing stories about the shop's origin and their commitment to supporting local suppliers. It's clear that this coffee shop is more than just a place to grab a quick caffeine fix; it's a community hub where everyone is welcomed with open arms. Whether you're looking for a quiet spot to read, a place to catch up with friends, or just a delicious cup of coffee to brighten your day, Santo has it all. I left feeling uplifted, inspired, and eager to return! Thank you, Santo, for creating such a wonderful space filled with warmth and joy. Keep up the fantastic work!

Yelp
Parking : free street parking Cute little place around the corner. Clean and good place. Indoor and outdoor seating area. Restroom: 2 gender neutral restroom with a changing table. Pastry pretty much were gone when we get there around 2pm. We ordered: Matcha latte - yum Panella latte - love this, I like the orange brittle on top of my latte and it's not too sweet Lol...couldn't find any trash can anywhere. Overall I like it.

Yelp
I've come here twice in a row since finding this spot. Personally not a big fan of their coffee, but keep coming back for the ambience and amazing service. I love getting work done here and the vibes are so good. I did really like the prickly pear green tea but the coffee was too bitter for my taste. Also the sandwiches r $10 but look and taste like gas station sandwiches Don't get me wrong tho, ik I'll be coming back and I would bring my friends here! FYI it gets very busy on the weekends and WIFI is slow

Yelp
One of my favorite Seattle coffee shops! I got their seasonal honey cardamom latte and it was great, not too sweet and had that cardamom spice flavor. Definitely a unique combo I haven't seen in a lot of places. Their coffee is always super high quality and you can tell the baristas care about making a good cup of coffee. There were a ton of people working when I went and plenty of tables for that, although I didn't spot too many outlets. Street parking in the area is pretty easy.

Yelp
I tried Santo for the first time on a thursday afternoon and i'm so happy I did!! I tried coming another time but it was so full I left, so I definitely recommend coming earlier if you're wanting a table to study at. I first settled on a counter space by the door, but spots did open up throughout the day if you're willing to be patient! I ordered a matcha latte that was sweetened with honey ($6.23). It comes unsweetened so definitely ask for either honey or simple syrup or vanilla. The flavor was really yummy and it's definitely one of the better matchas I've had in seattle. Also I really love the green interior of the place, and it's nice that there's more casual seating on the right of the cafe and study tables to the left. They also sell merch!!

Yelp
Such a terrific coffee spot in Seattle! I came here on a Saturday around noon and was able to grab a table of my choice before more people started coming in the afternoon. There was plenty of seating which made it the perfect place to do some studying. The ambience was lovely as well. It wasn't too loud but the atmosphere was still welcoming. I got an iced panela latte which was absolutely fantastic. I asked for less sweetness and they were very accommodating, although the original drink already isn't too sweet so it doesn't require any adjustments. It was a nice change of pace from a regular latte if you want something more creative!

Yelp
This place had great reviews on our visit to Seattle. Very to the point no fuss menu. We got an ice coffee, cortado and a ceasar salad with chicken. Salad was pre packed but very good quality. Cortado with the side mineral water was perfect. One of the best I've ever had. Ice coffee was part of their batch brew and also good. They allowed you to put your own milk which my husband really liked. Staff were friendly and things came out in a timely manner. Only suggestion is they should repeat names if drinks are not picked up. I noticed a few times drink sat when staff got busy and name announcements were not loud enough for atmosphere. Overall location is very cute, trendy and a place to work or catch up with friends.

Mika A.

Yelp
Watered down coffee and oddly rude staff. Not sure why this place has good reviews or why there's so many people? Def overrated. There's other coffee places around the area that are better with good seating
google avatar

Yelp
I tried both the Panela latte and the matcha with oat milk but wasn't a huge fan. The matcha was pretty bland and flavorless and the Panela was somewhat the opposite, being much more strong and bitter than most lattes. The spinach and Brie pastry I had was the only item I liked but I would not come out here for the drinks again. The service was fine. They were really busy and full of people. Every seat was taken around 1pm. The aesthetic was fine but I had difficulty concentrating and getting work done with feeling very cramped and crowded. The person next to me was pretty loudly going from zoom meeting to zoom meeting for hours so that also impacted my focus and is more a commentary on that person's etiquette than the space. I probably won't be back but I just don't think it was my vibe which is fine.

Yelp
Simply the best! I have never fallen in love with a coffee shop until I walked into Santo but now I know what it feels like. The best customer service you will ever find, always great energy and ambiance in the shop, and the best coffee recommendations from the A-list incredible out of this world staff. They also have some delicious baked pastries on display. My go to favorite is the Rosebud Herbal Tea with honey. Hope you'll come and make Santo your second home like I did!

Yelp
Santo Coffee is a cute neighborhood coffee shop with great ambiance. The baristas were very friendly. I tried their iced vanilla latte which was smooth and not overly sweet. However, it was $6ish for just 10oz, which was quite expensive. I would come back and try other coffee.

Yelp
Santo coffee co I love exploring new cafes in Seattle! Santo Coffee Co. is located in Roosevelt, and I've heard lots of good things about them. There is a lot of free street parking around the cafe. The inside is very modern, sleek, and clean. My friend and I went to get some work done. We got the iced panela latte with orange bitters and a vanilla latte. We both thought they were alright for the price, around $6 with tax. I was surprised because a lot of coffee shops are charging $7+ for lattes these days. The lattes were not as strong compared to other shops, but maybe it was just an off day. Next time, I want to try more of their specialty seasonal drinks and give it another shot. I did not have trouble finding a table, but I know it can get really busy. The workers were nice and even bussed our drinks for us. It's definitely worth a shot if you're looking for a nice place to study or get things done.

Yelp
Came for the coffee, stayed for the vibes. The workers here are so nice. I came here to do some work, the wifi was great, seating was hit or miss depending on which spot you get. The staff were so nice though. They watched my laptop when I had to run out to check on my car, and were really accommodating when I was looking for a charger. Honestly staff was 12/10. They're really chill and treat their customers like friends. I love it here.

Yelp
5 stars solid for their coffee, but the pastry was very underwhelming. I went here around 8:30am on a Saturday and it was fairly busy, with more than half of the seats occupied. That is a hint that the coffee shop is good (aside from the ratings). I got their signature Panela latte which had small hints of fruit and honey in an otherwise regular latte, but they did their portions and ratios well for me to thoroughly enjoy the drink even though I am not really big of a coffee fan. If I easily drink this and was satisfied, that meant the coffee is indeed amazing! To go with the coffee, I got their spinach and cheese pastry. I asked for it to be heated up, but they only partially heated it up, so I was able to taste the warmth outside but it was a bit stale and the spinach & cheese filling cold, so that was a miss. This is overall a very solid coffee shop just for coffee and to work, as there is a nice modern and minimalistic vibe, while the noise level is average. I would personally skip on the pastries as that is a miss unfortunately.
google avatar

Jeremy K.

Yelp
I ordered the Americano and found the coffee incredibly sour. I know Colombian coffee leans on the more acidic side but it was such a unpleasant taste I could not even finish my cup. It was not a bitter taste but sour.
google avatar

Elissa H.

Yelp
The food and drinks were all really amazing! There's wifi and plenty of seating inside, and the vibes are great!
google avatar

Yelp
I could smell the coffee as soon as I opened the car door. The place was full and the seating set up is perfect if you like sitting at a coffee shop and doing some work. Very chic and yet inviting. The coffee though... oh man it was smooth. I ended up getting an iced latte and it was delicious!
google avatar

Carmen C.

Yelp
Fav neighborhood coffee spot. Great coffee, and I've bought their beans for use at home too. I also like their matcha latte; they're one of the few spots in the area that add sweetener (not before asking you) and their matcha latte has a fuller, rounder flavor that I prefer. Also a great spot to get a little bit of work done, or read a book!
google avatar

Kaelin H.

Yelp
To drink I got one of their specialties; an iced Panela latte. Overall it wasn't too sweet and refreshing for a warm day like it was. The orange bitters weren't all that pronounced though so maybe I'll try the latte hot next time to see if I can taste more of those notes. It could've been that I had some allergies and couldn't taste all that well though :). Additionally the space is relatively WFH friendly however I'd recommend trying to show up early as seats fill up fast! Especially those seats closest to outlets if you need it! Otherwise it's a nice place to get some coffee since they have big windows that open when the weather is nice outside. Definitely want to come back to try some more of their drinks!
google avatar

Anjela L.

Yelp
It's a really aesthetic shop. They have picturesque seating and cups so I get that the Instagram girlies love this place. Everyone always raves about it but I personally have never had a drink that I liked. The matcha was too grainy for me at times or flavorless at others. But to each their own I suppose. They did have a rose syrup which I liked.

Chris L.

Yelp
We got off a very long flight and needed caffeine for the road and luckily found Santo. The neighborhood was a little quiet for a Saturday, but it was easy to find the cafe. We entered into a beautifully designed space with black granite counters, emerald couch, and lots of light. It gave Hollywood vibes and very inviting. The staff were not super friendly or welcoming, but I'm not sure if that's normal for Seattle. We ordered an Americano and a panella latte. The Americano was on the fruity side and tasted a lot like pomelo, which is surprisingly thirst quenching. But ah, the panella was the favorite. A touch of orange and perfectly sweetened, I wanted to chug it. I should've bought 2. Highly recommend this drink! I'll be back just for that and will have to hang out a bit longer.
google avatar

Laura D.

Yelp
Another trip to Seattle, another trip to Santo Coffee. Iced vanilla latte with oat - I can honestly say one of the best I've ever had.
google avatar

Asher J.

Yelp
Any place that asks me the size after I order a cap breve is on my blacklist. They didn't. So they already topped the charts. Then came the coffee palate. Oh the palate. Robust. Layered. Smooth. Perfection. They nailed their cap breve! Great, productive ambience. Loved it. Lives up to its local reputation.
google avatar

Terry F.

Yelp
This is my new go-to neighborhood coffee spot. The staff is friendly, the drinks are served beautifully in cups and glasses, the seating is abundant and comfortable, and it's OK to linger for a long time. Their specialty Panela latte was not to my liking, but their standard latte was good, as was the chocolate croissant.
google avatar

Jake L.

Yelp
So amazing! Coffee was so great, and service was excellent. So calming inside. I recommend.
google avatar

Indrani S.

Yelp
It's a beautiful cafe with such a positive ambience. I am glad we are in the neighborhood and I can easily spend hours sipping my favorite drink and working peacefully. They also offer a wide selection of foods that pairs well with the drink. It is usually crowded during the day and the late afternoons but one feels always welcomed.
google avatar

Stephanie B.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to grab coffee in Seattle. My go tos are the panela coffee (hot preferred) and the delicious coffee cake they always have. The panela coffee has some orange notes which compliment very well with the caramel-like taste of the coffee and hot frothy milk. It's like cafe con leche got an upgrade and I love it. I live 20 minutes from here, and I could go to closer coffee shops, but this one will still remain top for me. The vibes are always immaculate and the coffee & cake surpass expectations every time. Can't wait til the next time.
google avatar

Taylor H.

Yelp
Cute little place to grab coffee and get your work done. We stopped by this place to grab a drink before heading to Mt Rainer. Lots of pastries, nothing vegan. They have their own water dispenser which is very convenient so customers don't need to ask for a water cup or they can fill up their own bottle. Everything is basically self serve which I like, having straws and cup lids out for customers use. I ordered an iced doppio with oat milk, the espresso was a little sour. Also, they were using two types of oat milk which for some reason did not sit right with me... I had half of my drink poured from a white oat milk box and the other from a blue box. It just felt illegal...

Clint E.

Yelp
I tried a lot of Seattle's top coffee shops and was shocked not to see Santo Coffee on these blogs. Santo is the only coffee shop I came back to a second and third time before I went home. And I stayed in SLU so I went out of my way to go back again and again. The vibe of the place is great and has friendly baristas. For me, Santo holds the crown of best coffee shop in Seattle and is one of my favorites I have ever been to.
google avatar

Alison V.

Yelp
Absolutely love the vibe of this coffee shop - very chic and aesthetic. I got the Panela latte which is pretty good, I think it's taste better with a bit more sugar. Definitely would go again next time I visit Seattle!
google avatar

Nina T.

Yelp
Great vibe and amazing coffee. We got the Iced Panella Oat Latte and Iced Oat Chagaccino. It was my first time trying a chagaccino which is a mushroom-based coffee and I absolutely loved it. The Iced Panella oat latte was also very refreshing with a subtle hint of the orange bitters. We would definitely come back here when we are in Seattle.

Eileen Z.

Yelp
Vibes are immaculate. This coffee shop has a special place in my heart. I love the glasses and decor, and it's my go to work from home place!! Coffee is solid.
google avatar

Madison A.

Yelp
love their coffees, hot cocoa, tea, so much good stuff to choose from. atmosphere is great too
google avatar

Yelp
Love love love Santo! Love the coffee. Love the service. Is it expensive? Yes. But we are Seattleites, dammit! If we overspend on anything, it's on coffee. This is one of my go-to places for coffee. It's walking distance from where I live, it's delicious, it's low calorie (if you don't get the pastries), and it has a stamp card. What more could you want? I want to tell a story: I, being a man of habit, always get the same thing when I come. Coffee. Pour over. Black. But, one time I came, and the barista recommended I get the drip instead. On certain days, the drip actually comes out better than the pour over, and that was one of those days. Instead of upselling me, he downselled me to a better drink for a cheaper price. Who does that?! What an upstanding human being. I will forever love Santo.
google avatar

Danica S.

Yelp
Modern, Swanky, and Hip are a few words that come to mind when stepping into this cafe for the first time. It's located at the bottom of one of the new apartment complexes in the area. You order at a bar type area in the center of the cafe. I could see this being a fun after hours bar hangout for the local apartment dwellers. The menu is limited, which made it very easy to order. I tried their oat milk Panela latte (sugar cane and orange bitters). Oh how heavenly smooth, rich and delicious it was! The sweetness level was perfect; just a hint. The customer service was outstanding too! The men behind the bar weren't the typical young hipsters, but full of energy and confidence. You just knew you were getting a great cup of coffee. So glad my coworker friend suggested this local gem. I'll return very soon!
google avatar

Lizzy L.

Yelp
Favorite cafe in the area! It's cozy, warm, comforting, and a great place for working on projects or catching up with friends. Definitely one of the most aesthetic cafes around here. The service is friendly as well. Drinks are delicious, love the coffee beans and the almond pastries are delicious!
google avatar

Kate Y.

Yelp
They have the best cappuccino I've had in Seattle! The music they were playing really set the vibe too. 10/10
google avatar

David P.

Yelp
I am from So Cal and this was my first time here. I got the Panela Latte (with oat milk). Not too sweet and had a hint of nut nodes to it and I could still taste the Colombian espresso. Very smooth and creamy drink. I liked the little pumpkin things they put on the top of the foam to give it a little bit of a crunchy texture when drinking it. Paid ($7) for the (8oz) drink with the oat milk substitute. Not cheap for the size but I enjoyed it. The atmosphere was fantastic. A lot of windows for natural light and the music was not too loud which I liked. Very clean restrooms also haha I was impressed. Barista was very friendly as well. Definitely give it a visit, I will be returning.
google avatar

Joy P.

Yelp
I visit Seattle every few months and decided to try this shop upon recommendation from my sister. The interior was sooo comforting and just felt clean. My boyfriend and I love the panela latte so much that we got it 3 days in a row. I can't wait for my next trip to Seattle so I can have santos again!
google avatar

Brittany R.

Yelp
Love this spot! Incredible decor, good parking (in 2019,2020) off 14th ave, delicious cookies from A local baker, excellent unique drinks like the panela made with orange zest. Quality experienced barista who are ACTUALLY friendly - for Seattle coffee shops this says a lot! Great for groups! One of the best coffee shops in town for that. Love the owners. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Marvin C.

Yelp
I don't think I can say anything new that hasn't already been said. The ambiance, the coffee, the service, the location, the owner and the people are all outstanding. I only wish there were more Santo Coffee locations in Seattle! I ordered an iced flash pour over and a their famous Panela latte. The panela latte is a flavor I have never really experienced in coffee before. Not sweet at all yet had all the flavors of panela and orange bitters. Next time I might order it iced with a bit more flavoring so I can truly enjoy the panela with a side of espresso lol. 10/10 every time.
google avatar

Jun Li Z.

Yelp
DRINK I ordered the chai latte with oat milk which came to a $7 plus tax/top for reference My friend recommended this place because her other friend who reviews coffee shops in all areas said this had the best coffee in town. AMBIENCE spacious, modern and casual. People chat here, read solo, and get work done here on their laptops I recommend this place if you want to get quality coffee or drinks. This place is quite clean and not overly crowded which I like! I'd come here again if I was in the mood for a hot drink and am in the area!
google avatar

Frances Y.

Yelp
Super aesthetic cafe with lots of seats to work at, a few outlets and large windows that lets in great sunlight. The pastries are great, but the coffee is even better. I always order their matcha and the latte art always makes my day:)
google avatar

Susie C.

Yelp
Santo is my favorite coffee shop. It has both the best coffee (and baristas) and ambiance. Santo has super hip industrial vibes with a lot of tables and a couch area. Everything is super clean, both hygiene-wise and aesthetically. It can get busy during peak hours and especially on the weekends, and it gets impossible to find a spot. Be aware! Now onto the main event... the coffee! I usually get a milk based espresso drink since the baristas are true artists. You can see from all the photos here that they are top-notch. Even though my go-to drink is an Americano, I prefer to get a cortado or flat white when I'm here. I appreciate their attention to detail as well. When serving the cortado, they include sparkling water (I presume they do that with straight up espresso as well). Most other spots just give me my cortado alone (which is also fine).
google avatar

Jessamine A.

Yelp
I was recommend this coffee shop by a local barista who said that Santo had the best coffee in Seattle. I had high expectations coming in, and they weren't only met but exceeded! Staff was super friendly and the coffee is damn good, definitely some of the best (if not the best) in Seattle. The minimalistic decor still offers lots of seats and some table spaces, although I'd opt for meeting here with a friend rather than getting some computer work done. There's even outdoor seating for sunny days. Another plus is that it's walking distance from the Roosevelt light rail station with plenty of bus stops nearby.
google avatar

Yurim Y.

Yelp
This place has become one of my go to coffee shop. I come here once a week cuz I have an acupuncture appointment close by. The coffee is great and they have nice pastries I think mainly from Macrina. You can tell the guys are serious about their coffee. I asked for extra chocolate and they mentioned in grams.
google avatar

Andrew T.

Yelp
Super cute aesthetic and plenty of places to work and looks like Wi-Fi and chargers as well. It is a bit hard to find parking but we were able to find one about a block away on the street. There is two hour parking and also a lot for a whole foods that is nearby Where is a orange bitter latte that we got and also a mushroom latte Other than that they have your typical pour overs and classic espresso drinks and their drinks were all great
