Saoha Khao Soi - Review - Studio City - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Formerly a stall atWat Thai’s food court, Saoha Khao Soi now has a brick-and-mortar in Studio City. Run by a husband-and-wife duo using family recipes from Northern Thailand, the restaurant specializes in both soupy and stir-fried versions of khao soi topped with crispy chicken, shrimp tempura, lobster, braised beef, or scallops. The small space even has an open kitchen where you can watch bowls being made to order." - Cathy Park

**Review for Saoha Khao Soi Thai Cuisine** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of dining at Saoha Khao Soi Thai Cuisine, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! As a fan of Thai food, I was particularly excited to try their yellow curry noodles, and they did not disappoint. From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home. The decor beautifully reflects Thai culture, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure our dining experience was top-notch. Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: the yellow curry noodles. The dish was a perfect harmony of flavors; the creamy coconut milk blended seamlessly with the fragrant spices, creating a rich and aromatic curry that enveloped the perfectly cooked noodles. The addition of fresh vegetables and tender proteins added texture and depth to each bite. It was a comforting yet vibrant dish that showcased the authenticity of Thai cuisine. I also appreciated the generous portion size, ensuring that I left the restaurant fully satisfied. The menu at Saoha Khao Soi offers a delightful variety of options, making it a great spot for anyone looking to explore the diverse flavors of Thailand. In conclusion, Saoha Khao Soi Thai Cuisine is a gem that I highly recommend to anyone craving delicious Thai food. Whether you're a curry enthusiast or trying it for the first time, their yellow curry noodles are a must-try. I can't wait to return and sample more of their incredible offerings!

I recently stumbled upon Saoha Khao Soi Thai Cuisine while craving authentic Northern Thai flavors. So glad I found this little gem! The staff's friendly service made me feel just like home with warm greeting and helpful recommendations. The spotless, cozy space and open kitchen showcased spot-on cleanliness and fresh ingredients. Their Khao Soi stole the show--creamy coconut curry, tender beef, crispy noodles--tasting just like the original from Thailand. Fresh, flavorful, and generous portions! A must-try for true Khao Soi fans. Highly recommend--I'll be back!

This new Thai food place is great! Wonderful location. The gyoza was very delicious and so was the vegetable fried rice and the khao soi shrimp. Will definitely come here again - this new place just opened recently (previously this was a Persian restaurant where I would eat all the time; closed in July 2025). The service and atmosphere here at Saoha Khao Soi Thai Cuisine are lovely.

Google
Not many places in LA serve Northern Thai noodles, but this one stands out! The Khao Soi was creamy, rich, and full of flavor. Love it!😋 Papaya salad and BBQ pork were so good. we couldn’t stop eating. The place feels cozy and spotless. Definitely recommend!!

Google
My table got the braised beef Khao Soi and the crispy pork Khao Soi and both were delicious, full of texture and umami. The braised beef was tender and flavorful, melt in your mouth but doesn’t fall apart in your chopsticks, so perfect. The papaya salad medium spicy was flavorful and fresh, and the amount was just right. The atmosphere was cozy, perfect for a rainy day. The servers were attentive and helpful.

Google
Excellent service! the food was simply amazing—the best Curry I've eaten in Los Angeles! I loved the flavor of the tomatoes in the Papaya salad. The staff was very friendly and the place was very clean and lovely, Perfect place to take beautiful photos and eat delicious Thai food. I really liked it so i gonna come back with my friends.

Google
It was an absolute pleasure to come here. We got lucky with the parking as we came for early dinner. The employees were extremely friendly! I have not had such friendly, attentive, kind employees from any place in LA. The guy named Bell, he was awesome! We wanted to order one with crispy pork but unfortunately they didn't have that so we ordered 1 stir fried khao soi crispy chicken and 1 khao soi soup braised beef and iced thai tea. The iced thai tea was delicious! After a long hot day, the iced thai tea hit differently in a good way. Then comes the food. Before we dig in, the employee gave suggestions on what to do with the sides that it comes with (the pickles, onion, chili oil). We were so hungry, that we just mixed everything up following the employee's suggestion. Glad we did so because it tasted fantastic! After eating, I realized that one of the order was supposed to be stir fried. But since we were very hungry, we just ate! Maybe it was Bell's way of telling us to come back for their stir fry and they make sure they have the crispy pork ready next time (lol). Anyways, it was definitely worth it coming here. We will definitely want to come back next time we're in the area! Thank you everyone! Thank you chef, Bell, and the 2 girls that were there! You made our night feel special.

Yelp
Came here after a day at Universal Studios. We were definitely tired of overpriced and greasy American food and wanted some noodles/rice. This was the closest Asian restaurant (that is not at CityWalk) that we could find. This place hit the spot. We were surprised how empty it was considering we left the theme park at closing. The restaurant is super small, but the staff was friendly and accomadating. They setup a table for 6 and we got straight to ordering. We tried their Kaho Soi Braised Beef, Stir Fried Khao Soi Crispy Pork, A5 Wagyu Beef Khao Soi Soup, Gyoza, Crying Tiger and Pad See Ew w/ Chicken. The family inhaled the food. Everything was beautifully presented and was a fair price. The noodle dishes were just variations of each other, but I really enjoyed my stir fried noodles. Since everyone ate well, we decided to splurge and ended the night with two orders of mango sticky rice. Everything was outstanding. Will be back.

Yelp
I'm so excited Saoha opened near my work! I went for the first time today and the friend chicken khao soi was incredible. The depth and layering of flavors and textures was fantastic - sweet and savory from the broth, crispy chicken, chewy noodles, with lime and chili to add some sour and spice. I'll definitely be coming back to try all their khao soi options, including the lobster and a5 wagyu. The owners are also incredibly sweet and you can tell they put their hearts into the food here!

Yelp
We tried Saoha Khao Soi for the first time and had a nice meal. We ordered the chicken satay, papaya salad, shrimp pad thai, and the crispy chicken khao soi. The standout dishes were definitely the satay -- really juicy and flavorful -- and their khao soi, which had depth without feeling too heavy. Service was friendly, though they seemed a bit understaffed and were out of a few proteins (they substituted shrimp tempura for the shrimp). Our baby was able to sit in a high chair and dine comfortably, which we appreciated. Parking is tough since the lot is really small. Wishing them well -- welcome to the neighborhood!

Yelp
I came here after visiting Universal Studios and was honestly blown away. Their Khao Soi tastes exactly like the authentic bowls I've had in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The broth is rich and flavorful, the noodles are cooked perfectly, and the crispy chicken is spot-on--golden, tender, and delicious. Everything was so well balanced and prepared with care. I wasn't expecting to find such an authentic Khao Soi in LA, but this place truly delivers. Highly recommended if you love real Thai flavors!

Yelp
My partner and I tried Saoha Khao Soi. We ordered the fried chicken stir fry khao soi, crab fried rice, and mango sticky rice. I thought the stir fry was a creative take on the khao soi. The execution can use a little improvement, we thought the noodle was a little too soft so if you get a protein that wasn't crispy the soft texture will be too much. The flavor curry flavor wasn't as strong as we would like. My partner felt that the dish was a little sweet-I thought the sweetness level was fine. The crab rice was good, very strong crab flavor :) The mango sticky rice was great-it was just the right level of sweetness. They recently opened so they are still getting into their grove. I plan to come back and try the traditional Khao Soi. The parking lot isn't that big so just a heads up. The staff was great and very friendly.

Yelp
We went to Universal Studios for the day and wanted to grab dinner after. We found this place on Yelp and decided to try this. We got there right on time before they closed the kitchen. The food was AMAZING! I've had a lot of Khao Soi in my life and a lot of them are very heavy but this one was flavorful and light! We loved it! We had the crispy chicken and braised beef Khao Soi. The ambience inside was really nice and warm and cozy! We met the owner Bill and he was very nice and friendly. We told him how much we loved the food! He also gave us some sweet watermelon after for dessert on the house! Thank you so much! We will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
My wife and I tried this place after a hike today - it was absolutely fantastic and will definitely be an addition to our regular restaurant rotation. We ordered the pad see ew with shrimp and the crispy chicken kao soi. The pad see ew was nicely prepared with a lovely peppery flavor, and the khao soi was an absolute flavor bomb - perfectly savory, spicy, and with a hint of sweetness to the curry. The crispy chicken in the soup was the perfect bite. Service was top notch and the meal was very affordable.

Yelp
We were looking for thai restos and happened to be in the area after making a detour to universal studios and this place was newly recommended from Infatuation. They're newly opened, and used to be a food truck from the Wat thai market in NoHo We went right when it opened and the chef and his staff promptly seated us. A family came in not too long after us and they spoke in thai so that was a good sign that we found a legit thai place. This place offers khao soi with elevated ingredients (scallops, wagyu, lobster etc..) as well as your classics. They also offer a dry-style/stir fry khao soi which was pretty neat. The chef was super helpful with his recommendations. I wanted the classic khao soi but he had said the scallop one paired better as a dry style so I took his input, and sure enough it was delicious! My friend got the fried chicken khao soi and it was well crisp without being overly greasy. He even gave us a bowl of curry soup on the house so we could try how the classic khao soi curry would taste as we both had gotten the dry--style. The khao soi curry sauce was very creamy and fragrant. Pricing was super reasonable, I was pretty shocked that my plate was only $18.95 and so elegantly plated. I am definitely coming back for their classic one. The entire staff was so nice too, and it's great to support a small family owned business!!!

Yelp
Being a big fan of Thai food, I'd been waiting patiently for this new place to open. After looking up the name and seeing the buzz online about their Khao Soi business at Thai night markets all over Pasadena, my tastebuds were ready for a new and different Thai food experience. I was greeted by Sebastian and Sabrina and their family members waving at me from the kitchen. This warmed my heart and I felt right at home. :) First, let's talk about their chicken satay with homemade dipping sauce. O. M. G. It was to die for! The chicken was sooo tender and delicious on its own and made even better by their incredible homemade dipping sauce. I could've dined on this forever, it was that amazing. As I sit here and write this, I want to go back for more. Next, we had their crying tiger beef and grilled pork dishes. They were both cooked to perfection, the beef cooked medium and delicately seasoned while the pork was flavorful and almost crispy on the outside. The dipping sauce that came with these dishes was also home made and completely different from any sauces I've had at other Thai places. It is spicy for those who treasure good spice. And now for the pièce de résistance, their Khao Soi. This is a must-have and all the rage at their night market location. It is also their grandmother's recipe! That alone makes this entire experience even better. This curry noodle dish is similar to the yellow curry noodle soup we know and love, but this broth is made with a creamy base of coconut milk, topped with egg noodles and crispy noodles, and served with red onions, lime, pickles, and chili oil on the side. We ordered it with super tender chicken that soaked up the flavor of the broth perfectly. The lime gave it an extra citrus kick that countered the rich creamy curry broth. In one word: Wow! This was their first day open and we chatted about the dishes to come.... Pad See Ew, I see you! I would love to see some gluten free noodles (gf soy sauce?) and maybe a dairy free Thai tea in the near future. ;) Saoha Khao Soi specializes in Northern Thai food, while most Thai places in LA specialize in Central Thai food. It's intimate enough for a casual date and comfortable enough for friends gathering. Overall, I loved meeting the family and having amazing food with our new friends. There's one thing I know for sure... we will be back soon for more authentic family recipes. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Yelp
Good food, I need to try more things from the menu. Everyone that works here is so nice and friendly. The atmosphere is cozy and everything is very clean. The kitchen is in an open area so you can see the cooks at work and the kitchen is super clean too.

Yelp
The khao soi instantly teleported me back to Thailand! The food is incredible, service is amazing, and vibe is top notch. I love a place that specializes in a single dish and does it extremely well. But don't sleep on their som tom or pad gra pao! SUPPORT OUR LOCAL HOLE IN THE WALLS! These people are truly passionate about food and I'm so fortunate to live in a city that has access to such an amazing food-centric culture.

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic and delicious Khao Soi - this little gem is the place! My Husband and I opted for the stir fry scallop and shrimp khao Soi. What a delicious twist and the scallops cooked to perfection. The flavors of this curry were on point and the noodles are made in house! The service is very good, super nice staff and quick service. Don't miss out on this hidden Gem!

Yelp
We went to this restaurant last night, and everything was absolutely delicious! The highlight was the Khao Soi Lampang style -- rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. My boyfriend finished the whole bowl! The Som Tum was super spicy and tasty, the chicken satay was tender and flavorful , and the crispy fried tofu served hot with sweet chili sauce was just perfect. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Saoha Khao Soi Thai Cuisine: Studio City's Must-Try Thai Spot Studio City locals, get ready to add a new favorite to your list: Saoha Khao Soi Thai Cuisine. You can find this new, family-owned spot in a small, convenient strip mall right off Cahuenga Blvd W. They specialize in the rich, delicious flavors of Northern Thai cuisine, and honestly, they are already nailing it. I visited them just to pick up a to-go order on only their second night open, right before their official soft opening this weekend. I ended up chatting with the family behind the counter for about ten minutes, and they were so genuinely kind and welcoming. They explained their goal is to bring more attention to Northern Thai cuisine in our neighborhood. The combination of their super good food and their heartfelt service makes this place an instant win. The Northern Thai Must-Order: Crispy Pork Khao Soi The main reason to come here is the Khao Soi, and specifically, the Crispy Pork Khao Soi. This dish is a serious flavor bomb. The rich, creamy coconut curry broth was perfectly balanced--savory, a little sweet, and with a great level of spice. The noodles were soft and delicious, topped with a generous piece of crispy pork. The crispy pork skin was super crunchy and tasted amazing with the creamy curry broth. It's absolutely a must-try dish. A Perfect Classic: Chicken Pad See Ew They also do the classic dishes really well, like the Chicken Pad See Ew. The wide, chewy rice noodles were cooked perfectly--dark and savory with that great smoky flavor you want from the wok. The chicken was tender and the vegetables still had a nice bite. It was just delicious and satisfying--a perfect comfort meal right at my kitchen table. A Local Essential: Find Them at Wat Thai Market I simply can't recommend this place enough. They are truly good people making fantastic food, and I wish them all the success in the world! For those of us in the Studio City/Universal City neighborhood, having this level of food and dedication so close is a gift. Pro Tip for Fans: If you're looking for more ways to sample their incredible food, the Saoha team also serves at the popular Wat Thai Temple Market (8225 Coldwater Canyon Ave) every Saturday and Sunday. Go visit them and support this wonderful new local business!

Yelp
My love for khao soi and Thai food gravitated us to this restaurant. I've had my fair share of khao soi dishes around OC and AV let me tell you, hands down, Saoha Khao Soi crafts the BEST khao soi I've ever eaten. From the rich and flavorful broth to the subtle but thought out hints of depth and dimension, I literally ate my bowl clean. Paired with the most delicious chicken fried rice and cream cheese wontons and gyoza apps, every dish was curated with love and meaning. The green Thai tea is a must try too. Thanks to Sebastian, wife, Bell and Jena for giving us such an amazing dining experience!

Yelp
a lovely welcome addition to the neighborhood! gorgeously presented and delicious khao soi by husband wife duo sebastian and sabrina. they lovingly pour their hearts into every detail -- from the decor which they set up themselves to the food and service. the only dry khao soi I have seen on a menu in LA, and it is absolutely delicious and very smart for a sunny LA day. i look forward to trying the soup option as well on a cold night! was so good i ordered the crispy pork dry Khao soi to go!! Sooo good I usually find chili crisp to be unnecessary but their homemade one is sooo delicious I ate every last bit wishing this restaurant an abundance of success. the parking lot can be intimidating but there are plenty of spots out back!

Yelp
This restaurant popped up on my Yelp suggestion and I'm glad it did! SUPER tasty Khao soi - You can taste the love that goes into it. Friendly staff and the owner Sebastian came to greet us as well. Adding to my favorite yummies list!

Yelp
Can't say enough great things about Saoha Khao Soi. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. At the end of the meal, we were given a sample of their fried banana which was incredible! This is a great edition to the area and I can't wait to come back.

Chartchai S.

Yelp
First time trying a dry khao soi Wagyu. It was so tasty. Never try it before even i am a big fan of khao soi. The dry noodle style is a must and recommend to everyone. The staff is very nice and friendly. The restaurant is cozy, feel like family.

Kaitlyn H.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! Start to finish, I had a wonderful experience. It's warm and cozy inside and very welcoming. This is a family-owned restaurant, and everyone was incredibly kind. The Thai Tea is so yummy, and I got the Chicken Satay to start, followed by the Wagyu A5 Khao Soi for my entree. Because everything was so delicious, I decided to get the Mochi for dessert! 10/10 experience-- I will be back! :) (I was not asked to write this review :3)

Dev M.

Yelp
This is some of the best Thai food I've had in LA. I've already been twice in one week. The crispy chicken Khao Soi is some of the best I've had. I love their chicken pad see ew. Their hot chili pepper is also great too, so definitely ask for that as well. The service is lovely!

Tim C.

Yelp
Amazing! It is one of the best Khao Soi's I've had. The soup is extremely flavorful and rich. The service is fast and great too! The owner is really nice.

Elizabeth A.

Yelp
Delicious food and the staff is so kind! I got the khao soi with fried chicken and it was so comforting! The portion sizes were perfect for us and they even let us try a fried banana. I can't wait to come back many more times!

Ces F.

Yelp
First time trying Khao Soi and papaya salad. Both were very delicious and refreshing. Will come back to try the other Khao Soi protein options.
google avatar

Sara P.

Yelp
Delicious!!! We got a to go order for the soup instead of going to our boring usual. I actually got the chicken pad thai and it was good. But, I was sooo jealous of my husband's chivken Khao Soi Soup! Will be back to get my own soup next time!
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
Love khao soi, so was very excited to see a new restaurant specializing in it pop up so close by. Absolutely delicious! Both the soup and stir fried noodles are awesome. 10/10 would recommend and will absolutely return.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
What an amazing meal! Everything was so great! The owners are so nice and clearly care so much about their food and customers. This is such a great addition to the neighborhood. This will definitely be a spot we come back to a lot!

Harley F.

Yelp
Wow...that was one of the best Thai meals I've had in a very long time. We started with the chicken satay. Even though it's a Thai restaurant standard this chicken satay was a real stand out. The chicken was so moist and flavorful-not dry at all. Instead of the usual peanut sauce they served a mild red chili sauce- delicious. The crispy pork coconut noodle soup was extraordinary. Good lemonade too. The waitress was helpful and very sweet. We can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Andrew P.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious!! Had their specialty Khao Soi beef alongside the papaya salad and was blown away by the flavors, service, freshness. So good!

Matthew R.

Yelp
This is hands down the best khao soi in LA. Authentic and delicious. Highly recommend, place is a gem.

Tai T.

Yelp
Food is great. Workers are very nice. Please be patient with them as they have few staff and still in soft opening. Will be back!
google avatar

Marla M.

Yelp
Super authentic flavorful khao soi. Got the classic crispy chicken tonight and was comforted by the flavors and textures of the meal. Workers were very nice and I watched them make my meal with a lot of care and love. Give this place a shot and you won't be disappointed

Mary M.

Yelp
This is my second time coming to Saha Khao Soi and it doesn't disappoint! They're family owned by husband and wife from northern Thailand, and the tastes are authentic and delicious. I'm new to Khao Soi and wish I had known about this dish much earlier in life, but better late than never. It is coconut based soup with noodles and your choice of meat, it's so delicious and a hearty comfort food for a cold LA day (great on a hot day too tbh). Their broccoli and Krispy pork was crunchy and delicious, I will definitely be back for that! The service is friendly and family oriented, which shows in the love that is put into every dish. This place is a must try in LA for delicious Thai food!

John L.

Yelp
Best Thai food I've had in LA. Amazing Khao Soi, and for a great price. Great depth of flavor in the Khao Soi curry, and excellent condiments and sides. Wish the location was more convenient to me.

Kevin C.

Yelp
Food was extremely solid but the service really stood out. A wonderful couple working together to make delicious food. I ordered the stir fry because I've never tried it and the owner gave me the broth to try free of charge as well. Don't hesitate to try it

Taylor G.

Yelp
I'm so glad this place opened so close to me. I had no idea what I was missing out on from northern Thailand cuisine. The food was so delicious and the owners are so kind. I got the khao soi wagyu soup and the broth was incredible and it being a family recipe just adds to it. The cream cheese wantons were wonderful as well. Personally I felt that the pad Thai sign behind the host stand deters from the ambiance of the place but that's just me being annoying. Experience was great, can't wait to go back.

Sally R.

Yelp
Oh my god...I live across the street and was SO excited for a thai spot to open so close to me. I just ordered the braised beef stir fry and it was DELICIOUS. IT SLAPPED 10/10 recommend!!!!!

Chase G.

Yelp
Omg I was so excited to find this new restaurant because I LOVE Dry Kao Soi and you guys it's so so so SO GOOD!!! The service was amazing. The vibe of the place is chill, perfect for a date night or lunch or dinner with a friend. I'm definitely coming back to eat at the restaurant over and over!

Abby S.

Yelp
The food was very well seasoned, place was very clean, friendly service, and really great prices! we just so happened to come on opening night and I'm really glad we did! if you have a chance to come and check it out, I definitely recommend it!
