Wowza! We were visiting my brother in SLC recently, and he took us to Sapa for our final evening! He really hyped it up beforehand, and boy did it deliver! This is a must-stop on our next trip to SLC.
The restaurant isn't in the most glamorous of Salt Lake neighborhoods, but don't let that keep you away. We were able to find parking adjacent to the building, although there isn't a dedicated lot. There was already a line on a Monday night when we got there just before it opened at 5pm. We were seated right away in the lounge/bar area! The interior is lovely...modern, Japanese-inspired urban interior with plenty of character inside the restaurant and on their patio. Servers during the stay were mostly attentive, timely, and friendly.
We started out with the seaweed salad and calamari. The seaweed salad was great, but came topped with other unnecessary vegetables. The calamari was perfect...lightly breaded and served with fun dipping sauces. We ordered the Philadelphia Roll (a wonderful version to the classic roll), Samurai Roll (a little spice, a little garlicky, and a lovely side sauce), the East Brooklyn Roll (lovely and innovative lime flavor coming out of this spicy tuna roll), and the Spicy Tuna Roll (not a spicy mayo-based roll, which we originally thought). Probably would pass on the Spicy Tuna Roll in the future.
Definitely top 3 sushi spots I've ever been to, so check this one out!
