A great addition to the neighborhood with incredible vegan options. We started with the classic starter, the trio of three dips. It comes with a creamy walnut dip, a tomato/pepper dip, and an onion walnut dip. All tasty and served in portions so generous that we didn’t have enough bread to finish them. The homemade bread is fresh and good. Next, we had the assorted pkhali, which is two other walnut-based spreads (spinach and beet flavored) plus some walnut-stuffed peppers and eggplants, accompanied by the house cornbread. The spreads were all fresh and tasty and remarkably different from one another considering they were all walnut-based. (Every time we asked our waiter a question about a menu item, he started by asking whether we liked walnuts - lol!) The cornbread was very oily but good. We loved the lobio entree, Georgian bean stew accompanied by homemade pickled vegetables and more cornbread. For dessert, we had the pelamushi, a chilled grape jelly roughly the consistency of cranberry sauce, served with (you guessed it) walnuts. It was fun and unlike anything we’d ever had before. Overall we were thrilled to have so many plant-based options and look forward to trying different things next time such as the mushroom dishes and the soups.
