Saperavi - Review - Upper East Side - New York - The Infatuation

"Another new Georgian restaurant opens this week, this time on the Upper East Side. At Saperavi’s second location (the first is in the East Village), you can expect freshly baked breads like khachapuri, and plenty of by-the-glass pours of Georgian wines. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists. RESERVE A TABLE WITH RESERVE A TABLE" - Will Hartman

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Saperavi UES is hands down one of the best dining spots in the city! The food is authentic, fresh, and absolutely delicious — every dish is prepared with so much flavor and care. The wine selection is outstanding, especially the Georgian wines that pair perfectly with the menu. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great place for both a casual dinner or a special night out. The staff is attentive, friendly, and always ready to recommend something new to try. If you want a true taste of Georgian hospitality and cuisine, Saperavi UES is a must-visit. Highly recommend! 🍷🍷✨ ✨

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An absolute gem! Saperavi UES offers an incredible mix of authentic Georgian flavors and top-notch service. The khachapuri is heavenly, the grilled meats are perfectly cooked, and the portions are generous. Their wine list is a dream for anyone who loves Georgian wine — every glass feels like a journey. The ambiance is cozy yet vibrant, and it’s also very kid-friendly and wheelchair accessible, which makes it welcoming for everyone. Perfect for family gatherings, date nights, or simply enjoying good food with friends. Every visit here is a treat — truly one of my favorite spots in the city!

Everything is delicious here! The staff are so friendly and the food is fresh, healthy and full of flavor. The meat is very tender, beautifully presented and accompanied by a variety of sauces. My favorite was the pastry dessert that is filled with custard.

Amazing Georgian food. Tasty and unique dumplings and also amazing bread with cheese in the middle. Desserts were amazing with the Napoleon and honey cake as well. Such a great local addition to UES!

If you haven’t tried Georgian food yet, Saperavi is a great starting point. This spot opened recently, and everything impressed me - the wine selection, the flavorful dishes, the unique interior, and the friendly staff. The Elarji balls were delicious, and pictured here are the eggplant rolls.

A great addition to the neighborhood with incredible vegan options. We started with the classic starter, the trio of three dips. It comes with a creamy walnut dip, a tomato/pepper dip, and an onion walnut dip. All tasty and served in portions so generous that we didn’t have enough bread to finish them. The homemade bread is fresh and good. Next, we had the assorted pkhali, which is two other walnut-based spreads (spinach and beet flavored) plus some walnut-stuffed peppers and eggplants, accompanied by the house cornbread. The spreads were all fresh and tasty and remarkably different from one another considering they were all walnut-based. (Every time we asked our waiter a question about a menu item, he started by asking whether we liked walnuts - lol!) The cornbread was very oily but good. We loved the lobio entree, Georgian bean stew accompanied by homemade pickled vegetables and more cornbread. For dessert, we had the pelamushi, a chilled grape jelly roughly the consistency of cranberry sauce, served with (you guessed it) walnuts. It was fun and unlike anything we’d ever had before. Overall we were thrilled to have so many plant-based options and look forward to trying different things next time such as the mushroom dishes and the soups.

Yelp
Just came back from dinner here and it was delicious! My friend got the khachapuri and I got the chicken skewers and everything was delicious. Welcome to the neighorhood, because we are in dire need of good food in the UES and Saperavi is helping remedy that issue! I felt a little boring ordering the chicken skewer, but was feeling something lighter and now I wish I ordered the rest of the menu bc it was so delicious. The chicken was cooked extremely tenderly, warm, and the sauce had a nice gentle heat to it. The onions crisp and fresh, the potatoes and broccoli that accompanied it roasted to a perfect texture. Simple but delicious. The khachapuri was also very solid, and while not my first time enjoying it, could tell it was really great quality. Great job, Saperavi!! Wishing you all the success :)
