Saperavi - Review - Upper East Side - New York - The Infatuation

"Another new Georgian restaurant opens this week, this time on the Upper East Side. At Saperavi’s second location (the first is in the East Village), you can expect freshly baked breads like khachapuri, and plenty of by-the-glass pours of Georgian wines. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists. RESERVE A TABLE WITH RESERVE A TABLE" - Will Hartman

Loves my lunch here! The pizzas are so delicious. You have to get their Georgian dumpling with meat, it’s like a crazy soup dumpling. Love their sausage dish. Don’t skip dessert here they have some great options. Definitely a good spot for a date and I will be back to check out the rest of this menu.

This was my first time eating at an authentic Georgian restaurant, what an amazing experience! The staff was incredibly attentive and gave tips on how to properly eat Georgian dumplings which was crucial. Each dish was one flavor bomb after another I have never tasted anything like this. An absolute must visit! We will return to explore the rest of the menu.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An absolute gem! Saperavi UES offers an incredible mix of authentic Georgian flavors and top-notch service. The khachapuri is heavenly, the grilled meats are perfectly cooked, and the portions are generous. Their wine list is a dream for anyone who loves Georgian wine — every glass feels like a journey. The ambiance is cozy yet vibrant, and it’s also very kid-friendly and wheelchair accessible, which makes it welcoming for everyone. Perfect for family gatherings, date nights, or simply enjoying good food with friends. Every visit here is a treat — truly one of my favorite spots in the city!

This place is a hidden gem. Tried Georgian cuisine for the very first time at this authentic, cozy little gem in the East Village, NYC. From refreshing Kompot to cheesy Khachapuri, juicy Georgian dumplings, hearty Ojakuhri, and a rich bean-and-walnut stew—every single dish was fresh, comforting, and full of flavor. Amazing service, warm vibes, and food that seriously hits different. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in NYC!

A true hidden gem! I had an amazing experience at Saperavi. The food is absolutely delicious — full of authentic Georgian flavors. I especially loved the khinkali, Adjaruli KHACHAPURI, and, of course, the wine, which was rich, bold, and perfectly paired with the meal. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. You can really feel the passion behind everything they do. If you’re looking to discover Georgian cuisine or just want a warm, memorable dining experience, I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
It's a lovely place! we came here after watching a movie at the Angelica. We ordered the khubedari which they don't have at the moment but they will have from tomorrow onwards. They are updating the menu as well. The server was very friendly and helpful. We asked for wine recommendations and he gave us good ones. definitely ask him for his recommended wine choices. The places rather on the small side, they have about 10 tables proceeding two people tables, but they also have a bar where you can sit. The food was extremely delicious and authentic and I would definitely come back here. The prices are very good as well.

Yelp
A new Georgian spot in the UES! We really enjoyed the Georgian classic Khachapuri here; comes in a big shareable portion as a great option for an appetizer. They have a cute outdoor seating area; since it was filled we sat inside, which also had a nice vibe. The Napoleon cake was a favorite for my party. Very sweet but also quite light!

Yelp
Just came back from dinner here and it was delicious! My friend got the khachapuri and I got the chicken skewers and everything was delicious. Welcome to the neighorhood, because we are in dire need of good food in the UES and Saperavi is helping remedy that issue! I felt a little boring ordering the chicken skewer, but was feeling something lighter and now I wish I ordered the rest of the menu bc it was so delicious. The chicken was cooked extremely tenderly, warm, and the sauce had a nice gentle heat to it. The onions crisp and fresh, the potatoes and broccoli that accompanied it roasted to a perfect texture. Simple but delicious. The khachapuri was also very solid, and while not my first time enjoying it, could tell it was really great quality. Great job, Saperavi!! Wishing you all the success :)

Yelp
I was invited to dinner tonight at Saperavi in UES by my doctor who is also one of my favorite BFFs. Neither of us had eaten at a Georgian restaurant before and we were both pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and wine, the good sized portions and reasonably priced dining. The staff was very friendly and very attentive. Our waiter - George was spectacular and we came away feeling absolutely delighted !! We were seated outside and the decor and location was amazing - not forgetting to mention that the weather was perfect !!

Yelp
So excited to have this new Georgian restaurant in my area the food is absolutely delicious. Had the kinkhali last week & had the adjaruli khachapuri & the chicken and walnut sauce with a bottle of saperavi & it was delicious!

Yelp
Just had Sunday lunch with my husband and two adult kids, and we all loved this restaurant. The place is comfortable, spacious, and pretty. The staff couldn't be nicer! But of course, it's the food that will keep us coming back! We started with the beef Khinkali which was better than the best soup dumpling you've ever had. Next was the adjaruli that everyone talks about. A little rich for me but delicious. My kids flipped over it. The Chicken Shkmeruli melts in your mouth. Chicken Tabaka another winner! Crispy but not dry with an unusual, delicate sauce, lighter than the Shkmeruli. Try both. :) The Chashushuli, a traditional veal stew was also wonderful, tomato based and served with fresh bread. The big surprise was the Penovani Lobiani! A flakey pastry square stuffed with a smoky bean puree and topped with assorted pickled vegetables. The combination of flavors was so delicious. My daughter had a glass of their special wine. I'm not a drinker, but she loved it. We were too full for dessert. Unfortunately, there were no leftovers! We'll be back!
