Sapori Italian Roots - Review - Downtown Austin - Austin - The Infatuation

"If the name Sapori sounds familiar, then there’s a good chance you tried the popular South Austin food truck, Il Sapori, at some point during its long Austin tenure. The same team has since closed the truck and reopened the restaurant Sapori Italian Roots in Downtown Austin—a brick-and-mortar version of its past self with a bigger menu of handmade pastas, apps, salads, and desserts, plus the addition of beer and wine." - Nicolai McCrary

Food Truck Il Saporis Opens New Downtown Austin Italian Restaurant | Eater Austin

"Opening downtown at 800 Brazos Street, Suite 215 on Thursday, August 10, Sapori Italian Roots will carry most of the food truck’s Italian-American menu—house-made pastas and sauces including fettuccine alfredo, spaghetti and meatballs, and lasagna—while adding visible guest-facing features like a pasta-making station and a new burrata station. The menu will expand with salads, potential osso buco ravioli, desserts such as tiramisus, cannolis and frozen sweets, and beverage options including wine, wine cocktails and beer; the restaurant will offer counter and table service plus a coffee walk-up window and will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sapori will also sell retail goods (fried pasta, sauces, dressings) and meal kits, and is the next project from Tony DeStefano—whose family ran Italian restaurants in San Antonio and who formed Benedetto Hospitality Group while also preparing a Filipino food-truck venture with Durden Food Group." - Nadia Chaudhury

Delicious Pasta in Downtown Austin! We had an amazing dinner at Sapori Italian Roots in Austin! The handmade pasta was the absolute highlight—fresh, delicate, and cooked to perfection. The sauces were flavorful and balanced, enhancing the pasta without ever overpowering it. The service was just as memorable—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. Every dish we tried tasted thoughtful and authentic. If you’re craving authentic Italian food with heart and hospitality, Sapori is definitely worth a visit.

Google
Tried their Rigatoni alla vodka and it was absolutely delicious. It was so good that I just had to try their Tiramisu (was too full to have it on site so I got it to go and it was delicious too when I had it few hours later). Service was friendly. The inside is much better than the outside so don't judge it from the outside. Price guide (as of Oct 2025): Rigatoni alla vodka $19.50 Pinot noir $13 Tiramisu $7 Tax $3.27

Had lunch at Sapori Italian Restaurant in downtown Austin and it was such a good surprise. Cozy little place with a great view of the city and that classic Italian vibe, the sign says “Eat pasta, live longer” and honestly, they might be right. I tried the lasagna and it was amazing, rich, cheesy, perfectly baked, and full of flavor. You can tell it’s made from scratch with care. The staff were super kind and the atmosphere felt calm and warm, perfect for a solo meal or a relaxed lunch with friends. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Austin so far. Simple, authentic, and full of heart.

Google
Everything we ate was great! Not salty at all and so tasty! Minestrone soup was so hearty and in a nice sauce bowl. Bruschetta was refreshing and light besides the bread which was moist and so good to dip in the Sausage & peppers spaghetti, that sauce is AMAZING!!!

Google
I really enjoyed my experience here! Our server, Anthony, helped us come to a decision about to get and was very attentive throughout our visit. Moreover, they started us off with some delicious bread, which we all enjoyed with the oil. For dinner, I had the Rigatoni Alla Vodka, and it was delicious with some added cheese & pepper. My friend got the Lasagna and that it was just okay. And, my other friend got the Chicken Parmesan, and loved the pasta, but the chicken wasn’t her favorite. Overall, would say we had a good time, and we will definitely be recommending it to others!

Google
Sapori may be a small outfit, but it delivers big on flavor and hospitality. The pasta was freshly cooked to perfection, and the sauces were clearly crafted in-house — nothing canned or generic here, just rich, vibrant, freshly elaborated flavors that make every dish stand out. The place is usually buzzing with happy diners, and you might end up sharing a community table, but that only adds to the warm, authentic Italian atmosphere. Excellent service, amazing food, and a truly genuine dining experience — absolutely worth it!

Google
You have to try Sapori. This is the best food I’ve ever tried and easily the best Italian food I’ve eaten. This includes the food I’ve eaten in Italy. The food is homemade and the chef is from Italy. This is a must try spot if you’re in Austin. The staff is amazing and the prices are great for what you get. We had Brandon as our server and he went above and beyond to make sure our experience was amazing. I can’t say enough good about this place.

Alejandra Gomez

Google
The burrata here is absolutely unforgettable — creamy, fresh, and worth coming back for again and again, especially paired with their warm, delicious bread. That’s the highlight that stole my heart.❤️ The pasta, however, left me a bit disappointed. It felt like the spice overpowered the dish, taking away from what should have been the true stars — the pasta and its sauce. While the flavors were good, they just didn’t live up to the 4.8-star reputation. I’ll definitely return for the burrata and bread, but when it comes to the pasta, I was hoping for something more balanced and memorable.

Yelp
Calamari was some of the best I have ever had! The pasta was fresh! So good we will be back soon!

Boujee C.

Yelp
9.5/10, we got Rigatoni a la Vodka, Fettuccine Alfred, Gnochetti with Pesto and chicken, and the tiramisu. All the pastas were a solid 8-8.5/10, with Rigatoni being the best. atmosphere was lovely and we en sitting at the bar and seeing them make the food, but next time we will pick a table, as the bar is a little cramped. Service was amazing, Aaron took his time to explain the menu and alter the food for our dietary restriction. We had a reservation and you will need one for dinners most likely because it was quite crowded. Each of us payed 23$ with tax, but the portion for the pasta is enough for two meals. Come before you are starving because it will take 30-40 minutes to make the meal, although they have deli focaccia to munch on. Loved this place and we will be coming back! - Boujee Club Dinner Review (3 college students)

Yelp
The wife and I alternate date nights/weekends. We set at least one day or series of days to go out and have a good time. Each month the other person plans the date. I had October and found this Italian place purely by luck. It used to be a food truck and only recently got a storefront. We booked a reservation for 4 pm as the show we were going to later was around 6 so we wanted time but reservations are not required. The place is small so it may fill up so heads up. It didn't while we were there but it was never empty. The staff was friendly, fast, and easygoing. As it was our first time they let us know the food like the sausage and meatballs are made in house and they had a special cocktail currently. The menu was small but varied. Our server was very nice, I believe her name was Robin, but I may have that wrong. I am awful with names, she was there Saturday, brown or black hair, glasses, grey jeans or pants at 4 pm. She was great. The food arrived quickly and was very good. It was quiet and they had lots of wines to choose from, again there is limited seating but it never felt crowded or like you were boxed in, the room was large enough to offset that, they have small tables, booths, and a large table or two for families or groups. I got the classic Spaghetti and meatballs, they then put on parmesan cheese until you tell them to stop. It was great, the meatballs were fantastic and the sauce was good. The meal was filling, even more so with the bread they supply at the start of the meal. SHANA SAYS: This is currently the very best authentic regular person Italian food to be had in Austin! No one should expect high end, but they *should* expect, and will receive, excellent homemade pastas, sausages, and meatballs. I had the Rigatoni Alla Vodka and it was fantastic. My husband liked the sausage more then his meal by a bit. Also great service in a clean, comfy atmosphere. You do have to go into another part of the building walking past the kitchen. There is signage but you leave the restaurant, go into the lobby of another building and around a corner then down a hallway. It is a trip but the bathrooms are clean. Just know to give yourself time. I hope more people support and go here, as I said they had people the whole time we were there, one other couple, a family came in, a group of friends, they stayed steady and I was happy to see that. I hope they make it and people support local!

Yelp
Decent Italian food, convenient location near the Paramount. We went into Sapori about 6:00 on Saturday before a show at the Paramount. It was crowded and we didn't have a reservation so they sat the two of us at a counter facing the street. The service was friendly and fairly prompt, especially given that the restaurant was crowded. We ordered the fried calamari to start. It was good, nicely crisp and hot. For dinner, we shared a small Caesar salad and the rigatoni alla vodka. The small salad was big, plenty for two people. It was your average Caesar, good but nothing special . We would have liked to have anchovies on it but they didn't have them. We weren't thrilled with the penne alla vodka. It had sausage and a lot of garlic that really overpowered the normally more delicate flavor of a vodka sauce. We didn't finish it because it was really heavy. I personally wouldn't make a special point to go back to Sapori. Other items on the menu may be better and others in the restaurant seemed to like what they were eating. It just didn't make a strong impression on me compared to other Italian restaurants I like better.

Yelp
I had such a great experience at Sapori Italian Roots! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. My waitress, Liv, was absolutely amazing. She was so attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. She made the whole experience even better with her great energy. The food? AWESOME. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. You can really taste the love and authenticity in every dish. It's easily some of the best Italian I've had in Austin. Highly recommend checking this place out--and if you get Liv as your server, you're in for an extra treat!

Yelp
Pro-tip: the bathroom is detached and shared with the main building. Easy to get to, so don't be afraid to ask staff for directions! Service is fabulous, from the moment you leave to the moment you make your order, enjoy your food, and leave. Ambiance is fun and simple. Nothing too fancy, but welcoming nonetheless. The food is okay. Perhaps I had higher expectations due to other reviews. I went with the Vodka pasta. The pasta does seem house-made, but the sauce seemed overwhelmed with oil. I also tried the chicken parm, and it was okay. Seemed overcooked, and the sauce was ordinary.

Yelp
Sapori Italian Roots is a pretty inconspicuous place serving up some pretty good pasta. When you first walk in it doesn't feel too far removed from an extremely generic modern spot but I let their food speak for itself, and man it did. We made a reservation to beat the Saturday evening rush. The service was good and the waiter was friendly and very attentive. We ordered and got our food about 10-15 after so the timing felt right. Touching back to the food, they start you off with table bread that is pretty unique. It has a different texture and strong herby flavor to it, which is delicious. As for the pasta itself, we ordered the fettuccine alfredo and rigatoni alla vodka. The flavors of the pasta were amazing. The fettuccine Alfredo was creamy and cheesy, a good combination of flavor and texture. The rigatoni alla vodka was a standout, absolutely delicious with the rigatoni cooked perfectly and the vodka sauce bursting with flavor. We were highly impressed. Altogether, Sapori Italian Roots is the best Italian food we've had since moving down to Austin. The staff is great and the food is even better. We would recommend this for a hearty dinner if you're in the downtown area or in a rough spot after happy hour on 6th.

Yelp
I liked Sapori, but I didn't love it. I thought it would completely knock my expectations out of the park, but it was okay. Staff is really friendly, and they were able to comp a dessert because they asked me to move to accommodate for a larger party. The calamari is delicious, and my friends and I were talking about how it's probably one of the best calamari in Austin. The pasta itself is just okay. I would say it's very well cooked, but there's something lacking in every pasta that we tried? I was definitely slightly disappointed by the pasta. Also, the free bread is so not good :( Also really disappointed by the bread.

Yelp
I'd had my eye on this place for a while, and I'm so glad I finally got to try it! We kicked things off with the house focaccia -- flavorful and herby, though I do wish it had been a bit warmer and softer. The Caesar salad was a solid classic, crisp with plenty of Parmesan. For the mains, we split the fettuccine with shrimp and the penne alla vodka. The fettuccine was rich, creamy, and loaded with perfectly cooked shrimp. The penne alla vodka was packed with flavor and had a nice little kick to it! The portions were generous and perfect for sharing. Service was fantastic -- super attentive, and the food came out impressively fast. Definitely a spot I'd recommend 100%!

Yelp
What a gem! We visited this quaint little Bistro , before heading to a concert at the Moody Center. It was pretty much at capacity, so we took a couple of seats at the bar. Be prepared to pay for parking, but it is totally worth it! We were met with water and complimentary focacci immediately, and service was non-stop from the time we sat down! They offer a beautiful classic Italian menu. We had the calamari and chicken Alfredo! Their Alfredo sauce is made from scratch, and is made to order. So creamy and delicious, sopping the remaining sauce up with some bread was my only choice! We also ordered some peach cocktails, they were topped with a gummy bear, which was cute and a sweet touch. The service was impeccable and I watched the wonderful servers instrumentally attend to every table as needed. Ensuring that every customer's glasses stayed full and needs were met. It was really refreshing and nice to see! Sorry that hunger trumped pictures, but we will be heading back soon, and plan to capture some of that deliciousness. If your looking for really good Italian food, good services and not a huge crowd, this is your next best meal. Until next time, Happy Eating :)

Yelp
Fresh made pasta & focaccia, delicious! The minestrone soup was also great, as was the service. Nice ambiance and good selection of vegetarian options.

Yelp
Sapori is an absolute gem in downtown Austin. I highly recommend the rigatoni as it packed with flavor.
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
Hands down the best bowl of rigatoni I've ever had. Cannot recommend this place strongly enough. It's a little cramped and noisy inside, but well worth it.

Yelp
My mom can never decide where to eat, so when we needed something quick and satisfying, Italian came to mind and Sapori delivered! It popped up as a recommendation, and wow, it did not disappoint. Everyone ordered something different: spaghetti and meatballs, fettuccine chicken Alfredo, fettuccine shrimp Alfredo, pesto gnochetti, and chicken Parmesan. Every single dish was a hit! I had the chicken Parmesan, and let me just say.. I embarrassingly devoured my plate. The chicken was cooked perfectly, juicy and tender, not overdone at all. The sauce and cheese? Absolute heaven. On top of the amazing food, the staff were incredibly helpful, attentive and always there when we needed something. A quick note for future visitors: the restaurant is in the city, so parking might be a bit of a walk. We had to park a little farther out, and on the way, we passed a few homeless individuals. It wasn't threatening, but it might feel unsettling if you're a woman alone or a mom with young children. If possible, bring someone with you it'll help you feel more at ease.

Yelp
Found this place while downtown just before a concert and it hit the spot. We got the deets from our server who said it started as a food truck and they have really come a long way! Perfect little Italian joint. Cesar salad was excellent, burrata was some of the best I have experienced and the pasta was to die for. Will be coming back in the future! Take your gal on a date here.

Yelp
First off, the service here is phenomenal. It was our first time here, and our server did a fantastic job introducing us to Sapori and giving us recommendations. Everything here is made in-house, and you can definitely tell from how fresh the pasta and sauces are. They give complimentary bread and olive oil (win!). We ended up ordering the calamari and the chicken fettuccini alfredo. From the first bites, both dishes were amazing. I'm more of a tomato-based pasta sauce girl, so after my alfredo cravings were satiated, the dish got quite heavy. But if I was a die-hard Alfredo fan, this dish would knock it out of the park. The calamari was well seasoned, but a bit too seasoned because after a while it was too salty. The marinara dip that came with it was top tier though. Overall, Sapori is worth a visit if you're craving Italian. They do a good job at taking care of you and offer fantastic handmade pasta. Parking is going to be tricky as it is downtown.

Shelby M.

Yelp
Amazing service, all of the staff were really nice! It's a great spot for a more casual date night with great food that's not too overpriced. As a bonus they use Italian flour to make the pasta from scratch.
google avatar

B G.

Yelp
Omg order the lasagna!!! You won't regret it! The kids Alfredo with shrimp was only $8 and picky kids loved the pasta! It was homemade pasta...we got to watch them make it.
google avatar

Naomi S.

Yelp
SERVICE/AMBIANCE: - Parking is difficult to find nearby - The servers were very kind and attentive FOOD: - The complementary garlic rosemary bread was very good - My friend got the Arancini, which she really enjoyed. It's an appetizer, but the portion sizes are very big and could basically be an entrée. - I order the rigatoni alla vodka and substituted the sausage for chicken. It came piping hot and was delicious. The portion size was also very generous.
google avatar

Barbara R.

Yelp
A hidden gem! Hadn't heard of this place before, but checked Yelp and it came up as great Italian food. If it didn't have an Italian flag out front we might've missed it. Trendy casual inside, and all the wait staff is involved in the service and really seemed to enjoy working in this family owned business. We got the Burrata Caprese, the Caesar salad and Rigatoni Alla Vodka, all of which were generous and delicious. The bread they serve is intentionly dry and grainy but very well seasoned. It is not my favorite texture, but great for sopping up sauces. It is a great flow downtown lunch/dinner spot and we would totally come here again!
google avatar

Chalin S.

Yelp
Sooo want to gatekeep this place cause ITS SO GOOD and has the potential to blow up to be impossible to get a resy! Haha! This Italian food can give any downtown Italian joint a run for their money! Anything and everything your order will be on point. Oh that bread! The service is kind and quick, hole in the wall place with limited / no parking really, so plan for the same. They have decent number of tables for the small space. This used to be a food truck in South Austin, loving their DT location! A MUST visit!
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Casual style restaurant that was a little difficult for us to find since it is on a side street. After we had the food, we were so glad that we persisted. Both of us had pasta with salads and bread. Everything was fresh and tasty. Service was very good and prices were very reasonable. We certainly will keep this restaurant on our short list when we visit Austin.

Shelley H.

Yelp
I was looking for a great place to celebrate my adult son's birthday. The reviews on the food were excellent so I went with it. The food absolutely did not disappoint. The fried calamari, chicken parm and rigatoni all vodka were all amazing. However the place was noisy and cramped. It felt like we were stuffed in there and didn't make for a relaxing dining experience at all. (Also I researched ahead for parking and read that the restaurant "validates the 823 parking garage". We parked there with this in mind but our waiter looked confused when I asked for the validation. I guess $18 each is the standard rate, just didn't like being mislead. As good as the food was wouldn't return or recommend to friends...too loud and chaotic.
google avatar

Julia P.

Yelp
This place is good location for if you want to eat downtown and then go to the Paramont or different bars around the area. The food is definitely not the best, it is however better than Olive Garden. The service though it's very good our waitress was on point! our drinks were never empty. We sat outside and it was a good scenery.
google avatar

Francis C.

Yelp
Came here for a last minute dinner without a reservation and it was amazing!! We were sat immediately and the ambiance was perfect. I loved the neon green sign. The waitstaff were super nice and recommended great dishes to us. The food was WOW! You could tell the pasta was homemade and everything was so fresh. The Caprese had a spice to it that I wasn't expecting but was sooo good. My favorite by far was the penne all vodka! The sauce and sausage were the best I've ever had. Towards the end of our meal, the owner Tony, came by and said hi and asked about our meal. He was so nice and was the perfect end to our evening. I can't wait to come back here!
google avatar

Hannah K.

Yelp
My daughter and I came here as she loves pasta and eats it well - the reviews were raves! The service was wonderful from the moment we walked in the door until we left - everyone was so nice to us, which isn't always the case when out with a 5-year-old. The pasta itself was ok - the lasagna was oddly sweet and not typical Italian style. My daughter also said her sauce was a little bitter. We had fun overall even if the pasta was not at the level we are used to in other Italian restaurants.
google avatar

Wills C.

Yelp
Went here and the pasta was absolutely amazing . Was very skeptical at first but after going my wife and I found our new favorite Italian restaurant in austin that's close by. These are hard to find in austin for the price so I'd highly recommend coming here
google avatar

Saniya S.

Yelp
Amazing Italian food in Downtown ATX! I came here with my friends and this restaurant is the perfect sit down restaurant. We're all vegetarian and we had a lot of options on the menu. To share, we got the fried burrata and the arancini. It was my first time trying arancini and it wasn't my favorite, but everything else made up for it. I got the gnocchetti with the avocado pesto. The pesto was good, but lacked a little flavor. I added some chili flakes and parmesan and it was good! I loved coming here and would definitely recommend it to anyone.
google avatar

Yelp
I stopped by with my girlfriend on a whim while looking for a quick bite to eat while killing time in downtown Austin. It was not very busy on a Friday early afternoon, so we were seated quickly. The server was very friendly and gave us a run down on the restaurant. They take pride in making everything by hand, which is quite the accomplishment given the diversity of the menu. I was just looking for something to snack on, so I ordered the calamari. The calamari came out very very fresh. It was super crispy and well seasoned. The calamari was not overly chewy as many places are when it gets overcooked. Unfortunately, I was only able to eat a few as it was overly salty and the saltiness became overwhelming. The marinara sauce was a great addition to the dish as well. The decor inside is super cozy and was giving Italian diner vibes. I can tell they strive to make delicious food and offer a wonderful dining experience. I will definitely try to make it back next time I am in Austin!
google avatar

Andrea C.

Yelp
The ease of service here was great, got our food super fast and it was super hot, right at lunch time! However, I wasn't a big fan of my meal. The sauce tasted pretty good but there was something about the meat that just tasted off to me. Maybe I'm not a meatball person (I usually eat just spaghetti and meat sauce at home) so I don't want to say it tasted bad if it's just my personal taste. I didn't finish the meatballs. I didn't dislike my meal but also didn't like all of it, if that makes sense. The spaghetti noodles were also a little too soft for my preference but the food was steaming hot at least! And they have great bread and oil for dipping before the meal. I wouldn't mind trying a different meal here but wouldn't go out my way to come back. The ambience was also a little too loud, couldn't hear my friends talk from across the table.
google avatar

Vindhya G.

Yelp
Was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and efficiency. There was what looked to be a long line when we arrived but the hostess quickly cleared the area and we were seated with 7 minutes of arrival. The bread and oil were a nice touch and our portions were plentiful. We were attending an event at the Paramount so this was an easy walk and a perfect way to end the evening.
google avatar

Brett D.

Yelp
Food and service are excellent here! If you love Italian cuisine, this is it! Went there before going to the Paramount Theatre. It's within walking distance.
google avatar

Bob H.

Yelp
Local Italian restaurant that did not disappoint. Highly recommend when in Austin and you are looking for something other than BBQ. Staff is amazing and food was delicious. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great vibes!
google avatar

Rachael L.

Yelp
Food was authentic and fresh. Good prices for what you get too. Service was outstanding. Ambiance was comfortable and casual. Nothing fancy. We got a ceasar salad to share (was a huge portion and couldn't finish it), chicken Parmesan and the penne alla vodka. The penne had tons of sausage and my husband would have preferred less sausage and more pasta in it. Not the best Italian we've had, but still very good.
google avatar

Raquel O.

Yelp
First time and came along for a late lunch around 2pm with a friend and it was perfect timing. Not busy at all and food came out quick. Parking is street parking DT and could be a nightmare at the wrong times but there was plenty off 7th street a block away. This place is small and in a corner in DT Austin and it reminds me of a NYC restaurant which I love. There was no host and we walked right in to the counter to order before we got a table. Right away bread and their in house made olive oil mix was brought out and water was served. We got the Burrata to start and it tasted so fresh. For our meals we got the Chicken parm and Gnocchetti w/bolognese. Both fresh, full of flavor and a decent amount of food. One thing I appreciated how friendly and attentive the staff was! We didn't have just one server the 3 people who were working there at the front kept checking on us and refilling our water. Amazing staff, food and ambiance!

Yelp
Had this place bookmarked for ages and finally went. Sad I haven't tried this earlier! Perfect location downtown, walking distance from the capital building, and really most places downtown. Inside it's relatively casual. Not exactly a romantic vibe but some of the best Italian food in Austin for sure! Service was also great - our waitress Mariana was fantastic! As for the food - can't go wrong with anything. We got: Rigatoni w vodka sauce - comes with sausage too. This was my favorite, and I can't recommend it highly enough. Chicken Parmesan - we subbed the regular spaghetti with a side of fettuccine alfredo for no extra cost. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the sauce was substantial and tasty. I'm not typically a fan of Alfredo sauce but this was one I would happily have again. Meatballs - I expected 3 or so (cuz Austin...) but we got 5 and a lot of sauce. On top of that they were super good! Focaccia - it's free! I feel like places charge for this too often so it was a nice surprise. Also nice that it's some legit focaccia. They even provide a house made olive oil mix. Don't be like me and wait to try sapori. Go the next time you are craving Italian food or looking for a good meal downtown that won't break the bank.
google avatar

Hallie T.

Yelp
I searched up "best Italian food in Austin" when I first stumbled upon Sapori, and I was NOT disappointed. From the moment I walked in, the staff was so warm and welcoming. It felt like I was being taken care of by friends who just happen to serve incredible food. Everything I've ordered is delicious, fresh, and clearly made with love. The space itself is cozy and inviting, perfect for a date night or a relaxed lunch with friends. It's the kind of place you leave already thinking about what you'll order next time. If you're in downtown Austin and craving Italian, Sapori should absolutely be on your list.

Yelp
This place was awesome! Great staff, we sat at a little table outside and it was fun. The meatball were good, we had the pesto and Alfredo pastas. Both great.

It's not plagiarism if you credit the author. "This is a five-star review based on one and only one dish. But yeah - the one single dish justifies the rating." Samuel C. We stopped by for a coffee and a cannoli. Our coffees were good our cannolis were fabulous. If the shells are soggy then they are way past their expiration date. These guys were perfectly crunchy but the filling is the star here. A very unique sweet chocolate-like ricotta filling with a hint of amaretto. Saporti also offers homemade pasta dishes which guarantees another visit and of course dessert.

Yelp
We stopped at the Texas Book Festival and wanted a nice sit down meal. This place did not disappoint. It is cozy and the service is great. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. The house bread and our entrees were delicious. Oh, and that tiramisu, Chef's kiss. The pasta was very flavorful and fresh. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Visiting from L.A. I've had Italian food cooked by some of the best chefs in the world, but the Rigatoni alla Vodka at Sapori was truly sublime. I am still thinking about it. This place may have ruined my taste for it here in lalaland.

Yelp
never been so inclined to write a good review out of free will on a restaurant but here i am. amazing food, best ravioli i've ever had. appetizers and bread was great too. cute vibe and small knit but still cozy. last but not least- the. service. i've never understood amazing service til i've been here. yeah people cater to you at other places and they're nice about it, but here??? it doesn't even feel like a job to these people, every single crew member is amazing and great at what they do. i could go on. give this place a try, u will not regret it.

Yelp
Loved my experience here. The wait staff were all extremely friendly, personable, and did such a nice job attending to our needs. Our waters were always filled and we were checked on frequently! I would come back for the great service alone, but the food was also delicious! Shared the penne alla vodka and pesto gnochetti with a friend. The penne dish was EXCELLENT!

Yelp
They were able to accommodate quite a large party at a short notice! Great service & our server recommended good wines to pair with what we were ordering. Portion sizes are quite generous & they have ample of vegetarian options. Found the pesto gnocchi a little on the doughy side. We'll definitely go back here again.

Yelp
My friend and I randomly chose to eat at this Italian restaurant while visiting the downtown area. When I walked in, I felt like I had uncovered a hidden gem. It seemed like a casual and approachable restaurant. Our waiter was great! He suggested an incredible wine that I loved! They also serve delicious bread while you wait for your food. I ordered a pesto dish. It could have used a smidge more salt but still was very tasty! Overall, this spot gets 5 stars in my book. I look forward to bringing family and friends here in the future. Ciao!

Yelp
It's a little crowded and it seemed like they expected us to call in a reservation in advance. However, the food is superb and the staff is attentive.

Yelp
I ordered the four cheese ravioli and it was the definition of comfort food. The filling was rich and creamy, and the cheese blend gave it a great mix of flavors a little sharp, a little sweet, and perfectly melty. The sauce was a light tomato cream that balanced the richness of the filling. The ravioli themselves were delicate but didn't fall apart. Everything came out piping hot and beautifully plated. The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in, and they even brought a little extra bread without us asking. I left feeling full and happy, which is exactly what I want from a pasta dinner.

Yelp
The food was delicious--pasta was made in-house that day, and everything was fresh. The service was very attentive! I highly recommend it for some of the best Italian food you've had.
