Where to Slurp Ramen Around Boston

"Formerly known as Migaku, Sapporo Ramen opened in Brookline Village in 2019. It’s known in particular for its Nagasaki-style champon, which is a noodle soup with seafood, pork, and stir-fried vegetables. Diners will also find spicy miso ramen, hot and sour ramen with pork and tofu in a shoyu broth, and other hearty rice bowls and Japanese side dishes. There’s also a second location in Cambridge’s Porter Square." - Nathan Tavares, Eater Staff

I haven’t been to CSG for a while and love how they have revamped the food court space into a nice and comfortable food hall. I instantly gravitated towards Sapporo Ramen and we ordered some ramen, katsu curry, sushi, and poke bowl. We really enjoyed the miso ramen because the broth was just so rich! The katsu curry was also super flavorful. The service was great and food delicious, you’d like them.

My new go-to spot for casual Japanese takeout bowls. Since Sapporo Ramen relocated from its Porter Square location to this new food hall, I’ve stopped by a couple of times for a quick meal. Maybe it’s my bias toward Japanese food, but among the options here, Sapporo stands out as the most solid choice. Among the rice bowls, the Curry Pork Katsu is my favorite. Back in their Porter Square days, the pork katsu was underwhelming—often dry and over-cooked. But here, it’s been given a much-needed upgrade: crispier and juicier. A close second is their Beef Gyudon. The beef is not only well-seasoned but also has just the right amount of fat to keep each bite rich and satisfying. Unfortunately, their ramen remained unchanged from what I remembered at Porter Square. While the noodles were perfectly cooked, the broth still lacked the depth and richness. I did, however, find the Spicy Miso ramen to have a bit more flavor complexity than the house ramen. Much like their HMart location, this spot also offered pre-packaged sushi, and for the price, it was a solid option. The best time to grab one was around noon, as they’re usually made fresh in the morning—by dinner, the quality can be hit or miss. The prices are only slightly higher than what you’d find in grocery stores, so it was a reasonably priced choice for a quick sushi fix. Favorites: Pork Katsu Curry, Beef Gyudon Solid: Sushi packs (if made fresh), Spicy Miso Ramen, Chicken Katsu Curry Decent: House Ramen, Gyoza, Chicken Karaage bowl Poor: Takoyaki

Mannnn that was bad. The pork dumplings were not good at all. I gave most of them to my dog. He’ll eat anything. The ramen soup was worse than the dumplings. No flavor, actually bad flavor. You know how much this awful meal cost including a soda, $40+ 🤯 The restaurant is in the food court at the end of the shopping center along with other eateries. The directions to get there could have been better. I don’t recommend this place at all. Nice people but awful food. 🤢

I had a disappointing experience at Sapporo Ramen. The woman taking orders was incredibly rude, making the interaction so uncomfortable that I almost left without ordering. Despite this, I decided to give it a chance and ordered the teriyaki tofu bowl. When I asked what vegetables were included, I was told “cabbage,” but the bowl came with lettuce and a slice of tomato—completely unexpected and not a good pairing in my opinion. For $17, the portion size was small, and the bowl felt overpriced for what I received. When I requested spice, I was told I’d need to pay an additional $2 for a tiny packet of hot sauce, though thankfully one of the friendly male staff members gave it to me without charge. The men working there had excellent customer service, which was a stark contrast to the woman at the counter. As for the food, the teriyaki sauce on the tofu was decent, but the tofu lacked texture, and the lettuce was the only crunchy element—which didn’t work well with the dish. Adding some thoughtful, textured components would really improve the experience. Overall, while the staff (aside from the woman at the counter) was kind and accommodating, the poor service, underwhelming dish, and high price point made this a disappointing visit. I wouldn’t recommend the tofu bowl and would hesitate to return unless there were significant improvements.

I recently visited the updated Galleria food court and decided to try Sapporo Ramen. The ordering was simple -- choose a broth (which comes with toppings) and choose a protein. I got the house ramen (apparently a chicken and vegetable broth) with ground chicken. I thought it was pretty good, though the broth was too salty (and thus not drinkable). I liked the texture of the noodles and appreciated the amount of bean sprout toppings. The egg yolk was a bit overcooked for my tastes. Overall it tasted good but was too salty. I paid around $17 with tax included, which is not cheap for mall food court ramen. Given that Sapporo used to be at Lesley, I can see where the prices are coming from, but I would prefer to pay this amount at a standalone ramen restaurant.

I can make better ones at home. Spicy miso ramen has no flavor. Overpriced for the quality.

Google
Sprouts, scallions, and corn were nice and fresh. Good chewy noodles. Mild broth on the less salty side. Big chunks of pork. Portion is a bit small. Very friendly service! Overall a solid option if you’re in the neighborhood.

Google
I ordered delivery miso ramen. The pork quality was very good but the ramen noodles had completely stuck together in the to-go box when they arrived. The broth is nice and strong so you can extend it with some water. I’d go back to Sapporo but would not recommend it for delivery.

Yelp
Great quality and flavor, even for delivery food! I got a spicy miso Ramen and another pork Ramen. The appetizer wings were great as well with some mayo cabbage. My only complain was that the Ramen that came for the spicy miso was too small of portion I would definitely order from this place again or even pay a visit in person !

Yelp
Good mall ramen. The egg was exceptionally nice and gooey. The house broth was tasty. I'd like to see a tonkatsu option. The noodles were not good. There's a fresh Italian pasta place right next to this. It's the first time I've craved Italian noodles more than Japanese. Bottom line is that it's a good broth and the ingredients seem like high quality. Only the noodles were disappointing to me.

Yelp
G: ========= B: eh, it was aight, bit watery as far as curry goes bit it'll do if you're itching for some Japanese curry.

Yelp
Food was hit or miss for me. Shoyo ramen (6/10): broth was pretty salty, which I'm not that big of a fan. It was lacking a lot of flavors, even though it was cooked with anchovies and other umami ingredients. The ramen egg was almost fully cooked, not jammy, and the meat was a bit tough. Adding the corn gave it a bit of personality which perked up the dish for me in terms of flavor. Chicken kaarage (10/10): not pictured, but holy. They were tender and so so juicy. I'm not sure what cut of chicken it was, but it was so warm and delicious. Seasoned well with two types of sauces on the side, one spicy with some tang and the other sweet and salty. Service was alright. The waitress gave me a weird look at a request for some ice, but otherwise welcoming! Wasn't super busy when we went, and my friends and I were mostly left to our own devices. Small place that makes use of seating for the space given, comfy and casual place to get a bowl of ramen or share an app or two. I loved their kaarage, and I'd be willing to give their seasonal broth less ramens a chance because I've heard they're fantastic. Hopefully I'll see them again soon and leave a new review!

Yelp
This ramen used to blow me away me years ago. I also go back to see if quality is back to how it is but the quality fluctates a lot. The pork is marianaded perfection. Soup and noodles were okay to me but my sister liked it. The restaurant is located inside an eating outlet. You may have to line up during peak hours.
google avatar

Yelp
I was worried because they had plenty of seating while some of their neighbors had long waiting lines, but they were decent. 14.5$ for spicy miso, which had a nice and thick broth, though I didn't enjoy the bean sprouts as they were not fully cooked and so textually not great. It also came out not very hot. The noodles had a good texture though!
google avatar

Yelp
Got their spicy miso for takeout. The broth was a little bland for my taste but still tasted like a spicy miso. The cha shu pork was a little hard. The ramen was soft and chewy.

Yelp
So many great food options in this building! I had a chance to try out Sapporo Ramen here for the first time the other day (finally breaking away from the usual 2 or 3 places I always frequent) and was very happy with my decision. Around 6:30 on a weekday there were still plenty of tables for my friend and me to sit, but after we finished and left we saw a considerably long queue forming across the hall. I ordered the spicy miso ramen, which was very yummy. The noodles were chewy and well-cooked, and the ground pork added a nice depth in flavour and texture. Portion size was also very good - I was definitely full after finishing my noodles. I think the broth is quite salty, though, so I had to drink a lot of water throughout the meal. My friend had the kimchi ramen which was also very delicious (and possibly had a better broth than the miso). Overall a very good visit - delicious noodles for a decent price - and I would love to come again!

Yelp
Great little ramen place tucked away in this food court. I got the spicy miso ramen, which was excellent. Really flavorful broth (though not super-spicy), nicely chewy noodles, tasty ground pork. I also sampled the chashu pork in my wife's ramen, and that was fantastic -- some of the best chashu I've ever had in a bowl of ramen. The place is no-frills, but that just makes it feel like an authentic hole-in-the-wall ramen place in Tokyo. Service was fast and friendly.

Yelp
We went on a rainy Sunday afternoon for lunch. This was the only place in the small food court that had a table for the 4 of us. It was a good day for ramen anyways, so we gave it a shot. The lady that greeted us was friendly and ran the front well. Everyone enjoyed their ramen, with rich flavorful broth and perfectly cooked/slightly chewy ramen. We had the spicy miso, tan tan, house and soy sauce ramen bowls. We didn't really cross share so I can only say my spicy miso was good. Ramen cooked perfectly. Broth was rich and full of flavor. I liked the ground meet, and there was a slight heat to it. If you're gonna go to this food court, do not go with a large group. Most of the restaurants have extremely limited spaces. There's a parking lot in the back but its not for the public. Luckily for us, it was a Sunday and we were able to find a street spot outside. I also want to call out that despite the place being tiny, they use a dish washer to ensure plates and bowls are actually clean. Kudos to them.

Yelp
Another amazing Japanese restaurant in the little strip mall by Porter. Everything was amazing. The House Ramen had a rich, complex broth full of meat and vegetable flavors. The hot and sour ramen was a nice counterpart to the more subtle House Ramen. And oh boy, do yourself a flavor and order the fried rice! This was perhaps our favorite dish here. The meat and rice have that nice smoky taste from being cooked in a hot wok. On top of this, the service was great and the host was very friendly!
google avatar

Connie L.

Yelp
Our waitress was lovely, but the food was mediocre at best. Their miso ramen was very bland. Tonkatsu wasn't bad, but to be honest it's hard to make any fried food taste bad. The sausages were overpriced ($7) for the 5 pieces you get. Compared to the surrounding restaurants, the experience at Sapporo Ramen was pretty disappointing.

Yelp
This ramen spot is inside the Lesley University building with all the other Japanese restaurants. I ordered the house ramen and the spicy miso. The house ramen ($14.50) is much better than spicy miso, and comes with their chicken broth, which tasted very strongly of chicken, and I believe them when they say it is boiled for many many hours before serving. It comes with egg (+$1.5) but as you can see in photo, is hard boiled. The char shiu that came with the ramen was really good and the highlight of this dish for me. I felt like this dish was really different from the pork broth dominant boston ramen scene. The spicy miso ($14.50) was meh. I felt like they added too much miso paste. Egg was not included. They had chili oil and garlic chili sauce on the side. I saw a lot of people adding a lot of sauce and oil to their ramen, which indicates it's not the most flavorful thing. Overall, I would recommend the house ramen if you like chicken soup and want something nourishing. I would not order the spicy miso again. The service was really nice and we got seated quickly.

Yelp
I was very surprised to see this place so well reviewed here on Yelp. I was here for a group lunch on a quiet Saturday afternoon and the place only had one other table occupied. I guess we got lucky didn't have to wait at all. Although things are probably very different now during COVID plus it had a snow storm just few days prior so we didn't get to see how busy they can get. Its really down to about 3-4 tables total now with dividers and spacing added in because of COVID. Like many other reviews have said the staff here is very friendly and helpful. The ramen took a little to get here because we had a larger order of 6 people so that's understandable. I thought the House ramen I had were a bit bland on the flavors but the noodles and ingredients are quite on par about what I expected from an authentic Japanese noodle house. Definitely go for the spicy version if you prefer more of a kick for your ramen broth. Overall though I definitely would be coming back here again to try their different options. Its in a cute little Japanese food court too so many other options to try here if you're in the Porter stop area, very convenient to the T stop!

Bruce M.

Yelp
To start with, the staff acts like they are doing you a favor by not waiting on you and you stand in lines trying to figure out where to get a beer while you try to decipher the scan and order card. then half the beers are out of stock but no signage to tell you so or staff and prices listed. $18.00 for two Modelo domestic beers! Never again!

Yelp
I'm from New York, but don't take my words for it. Maybe this will include some bias because there's 5 other spots at this food hall that I haven't tried each with their own specialties. Yume didn't have enough seating and this place sells hot and sour soup ramen. Not only is it something I've NEVER seen done before anywhere, but with a little bit of extra black pepper, the dish became whole and complete. -My 68 year old chef of a dad. Being a basic asian male, I ordered the fried rice with a side of fried chicken. 11$ for the fried rice, 11$ for the chicken. If I could turn back time, I'd probably smack myself for ordering the fried chicken, but I couldn't resist the urge to make the comparison. Verdict? Order two plates of the fried rice instead because, wow! Talk about bang for your buck. A decent side portion, with ample ingredients. Flavored just right on a slightly oily side from the minced pork belly, but that's flavor baby! Will need to try other things when I come back to the area, but I Def. Recommend the hot and sour soup ramen and the fried rice!

Yelp
Doordashed vegetarian. Their packaging is terrible and frustrating. Vegetarian Ramen smelt of fish. I would not go there again.

Yelp
I recently witnessed the end of what once defined the ramen scene in Boston. If you were to come here a couple years ago, you would view a line wrapping around the corner of hungry fans waiting in anticipation for their dynamic and flavorful broth. Such a strong flavor was engrained in your memory as you would probably go there at least once a week for dinner. Coming back to Porter Square after 5 long years, I still had that flavor clear in mind as i turned the corner and saw a collection of empty seats, and a silence in the air... All it took was one sip to realize the magic has been lost. The watery thin soup tormented my mouth with a sour taste that confused and depressed my palate in a single moment. After a couple more bites in denial, I placed my spoon down and asked for the check. Goodbye Sapporo Ramen. I will try and hold on to the memories of what once was.
google avatar

Dana S.

Yelp
What a great little hole in the wall. It is at the Porter exchange in Cambridge, do you know, where there's a bunch of little restaurants that seat lets and 20 people? We stumbled in here on a Saturday afternoon just because we are a bit hungry. My guy absolutely loves Ramen, so we thought we'd stop here in order. He got the hot and sour Ramen and it was amazing. I got some vegetable spring rolls because I wasn't super hungry, believable food. We were both pleasantly surprised and will be back. The only downside? It was hot. Like really hot. And I know the air conditioning was on. I kind a wish they had some fans, but with Covid, they probably can't do so.
google avatar

Yelp
When in Porter Square, you stop in for ramen. This spot is inside a Lesley University building. There's a parking lot that charges per hour and there's also metered street parking outside. This ramen spot is small. There's only 3 tables. You can do take out ramen and also dine in now. The 3 tables are separated by plastic curtains and barriers. If you dine in, they use reusable bowls and spoons, in case you are disgusted by that during a pandemic. I'd dip my spoon in the hot broth when it comes and don't drink the broth directly from the bowl. But yall do whatever you want, since it is your life. lol. They also served water in a reusable cup without straw. I wouldn't suggest drinking from that. I got the Yasai ramen, which is ramen topped with stir fried vegetables and shaved pork. I got this ramen because it had a Japanese name and I wanted to try something new. I was not impressed. Lol. I should have googled Yasai and discovered that it means vegetables before I ordered. There was not a lot of shaved pork. The only vegetables seem to be cheap cabbage, bean sprout, and a couple stems of Chinese Yu Choy. So, I was not impressed by the topping. The broth and the noodles were good though. Very flavorful broth and the noodles are the right elasticity. I wouldn't recommend Yasai simply because of the toppings. It is not vegetarian because of the pork and yet it is not too appealing for meat eaters because of the vegetables. I don't know who their target audience is for this ramen. I would recommend the House ramen, which is more like the typical Japanese ramen we love when we think ramen. Overall, this spot is alright. I would come back and try something else. I am just no as impressed because I have had excellent ramen from Los Angeles and even NYC, so my standards are pretty high for ramens. Hope that helps.
google avatar

Pinarat S.

Yelp
I ordered spicy miso ramen #3. It was s bit salty for me. However, the taste was ok. If you ordered dine-in, you had to return the plate to the counter.
google avatar

Ben P.

Yelp
Absolutely excellent. Cute tiny little restaurant, good service and good food for a good price. What more could you ask for? Split a house ramen w/extra noodles, and a pork chashu w/rice between two people, had plenty of food. The broth is chicken-based.
google avatar

Yelp
Spicy Udon Noodles were the way to go!!! Not too spicy if you have an existent spice tolerance! This is the first time we had cold noodles, so didn't know what to expect! It came with sauce and tempura chunks! Make sure to eat some soaked tempura with each bite of the noodles because straight nood is no good!! The noodles also came with mini prawns that gave a great salty fish flavor!
google avatar

Maple C.

Yelp
Although the price is low and they gave a lot of noodles, the taste was below average. I ordered the pork sausage and house ramen. The looking and the taste of the sausage were exactly the same as the sausages that you can find in a regular market, and this place charged $6.5 for 5 sausages. For the house ramen, the size is big and the price is low. Their broth is made by vegetables and chicken, so it is not rich at all. The pork it came with was big, but too dry and taste nothing. Won't visit again :(
google avatar

Lori Y.

Yelp
Sooooo good!! This was my second time at Sapporo. I came on a Monday evening (it was a holiday) and they were pretty busy but we were seated immediately. I had the vegetable gyoza (delicious) and the vegetarian ramen which was amazing! Veggie ramen is usually a hit or miss, but this one was sooo flavorful and was a huge portion. I have a good appetite but wasn't able to finish! Also, service was super fast and very nice! Definitely check this place out, one of the best ramen spots in the area.
google avatar

Didi S.

Yelp
Love this place. Moved away nearly 20 years ago, and dream of the miso ramen. The broth is amazing!!!! I go every time I'm in Boston.

Yelp
Highly recommend their Cold Noodles! Incredibly delicious and refreshing. Don't judge a dish by its simple description ("cold noodles with peanut sauce and toppings" ??) These are chilled ramen noods, so delightfully springy, and loaded with refreshing toppings (cucumber, tomato slice, bean sprouts, seaweed salad, sweet/umami marinated pork). One plate could easily last me two meals, but I stuff the whole plate down because it tastes and feels soo good. The first time I came here, I was meeting up with friends but had already eaten earlier. I tried a nibble of my friends Cold Noodles and could NOT STOP. She is a very generous friend and let me eat my fill. In less than a week, I was already back to eat my own full plate of cold noodles! Four stars, because the awesomeness of their cold noods does not transfer to their other dishes. I tried my friend's Tan Tan Ramen, and while the broth is unique (chicken based), the noodles don't have the cravable spring in the hot broth. We also tried their gyoza side dish which came in a delightful green gyoza wrap, but lacked flavor. So: Cold noods, ftw!
google avatar

Ma S.

Yelp
I am being a bit generous to give it 3 stars, as the place is no where near what it used to be. I used to live around here when the Japanese stalls were operated by several Japanese young men with true Japanese Authentic flavors & the joints blew up. I used to come here every weekend, the best Eel on rice (Another stall, long gone) and Japanese Raman I ever had were both in this place, the once famous Japanese underground stalls at porter square. It was long time ago, before Lesley college took over. They must have sold the joints as fast forward to 2018, there are no longer Japanese behind the counter cooking & servicing. The same applies to other stalls & and several Japanese Restaurants, I looked around a bit & they are all fake, it broke my spirit. Starting with the positive. The pork bun appetizer is very yummy, I was very impressed, look at em pork in my picture, they are deeply flavorful and slightly sweet tasting. However, my main meal house Raman came in very disappointing, not that it tastes bad, but it has certainly lost it's authentic Japanese flavor. The soup tastes more like corn chowder than Japanese Raman soup, it just shows that one can copy the format making it look appealing, but it's a whole other story to replicate the true essence of authentic Japanese Raman flavors. I am actually sorry to see those 5 star reviews, poor general public has no idea what Japanese Raman was suppose to taste like. I am also sad that my years of fond memory of authentic Japanese Raman at porter square was wiped from my brain in merely 30 min. I should not have come back here, something is much better to be left as memories :(.

Yelp
Visited with a friend on a weekday in Fall of 2019. It's a tad difficult to locate it but once we found it we were seated quickly. Ramen quantities are huge and they taste delicious. I'd say they serve the best Ramen in the Porter Square area. I'd definitely recommend it for a hot bowl of Ramen. Must Try: Tan Tan Men Ramen
google avatar

Alissa D.

Yelp
I'm torn with this review but after much contemplation this place is just average for ramen. The lure for us was they accepted cards unlike many others in the food court/mall area. I order the tan-tan men ramen which I usually get from one of our favorite spots in Providence. Prices were decent but the ramen was flavorless. It was a tiny bit spicy but really lacked flavor. Very disappointed. My husband got the classic and loved the pork but also commented on it's lack of flavor. We split gyoza, they were tasty but really oily tasting. Service was attentive. Ambiance is obviously lacking since it's almost like a food court and tables are close together. With all of the other options we will pass on this place next time and bring cash to try another place.
google avatar

Simon L.

Yelp
Unfortunately times have changed and there are far better options in town these days. Sapporo is the original ramen spot in Boston and was once upon a time the best. The fabulous tan-tan mein, against which all other ramens have been compared, is now reminiscent of the horrible, overly peppered version served at snappy ramen in Davis. The most recent bowl contained so many sesame Seeds that they were a food group unto themselves. Strange black flakes floated ominously across the thin, less flavorful broth. The noodles themselves remain solidly cooked, springy and chewy. The house ramen was severely under flavored with a almost peanuty flavor overwhelming the also too thin broth. What's funny is the main chef is the same guy who's been there for 12 years. It's too bad to see such a decline. As we left, it was noted how unsatisfying we all felt.

Kaeli H.

Yelp
Alone, it's pretty good ramen. In context of the rest of the restaurants in the food court, still good but wouldn't be my first choice. Big portions for normal Boston ramen price. I had the Curry Ramen and it was an 7/10
google avatar

Swabarna M.

Yelp
They do accept CC unlike their neighbours. They were packed however after waiting for about 15 mins we did find a spot. The portions are big however the broth is really creamy and buttery. Not that i have anything against Cream or Butter however i didnt like the consistency and the texture the broth created. Moreover the flavour was not there. It had no layers and was way bland and soon enough the broth became boring. All the Ramen we ordered tasted similar unfortunately. The Kimchi tasted a typical asian store one which was a bummer. The pork was however juicy and soft. The spicy miso was again nowhere close to even medium spicy. Felt like it is catered to either teens/young students who cannot handle spice or for the general crowd who cannot even handle buffalo sauce.
google avatar

Justin L.

Yelp
This place was pretty good! I got the spicy miso ramen it had a lot of bean sprout and a lot of noodle, but not that much meat. I went here because there was about a 90 minute wait at yume and there was no wait here. The broth was not that salty but it tasted weird after a white maybe it was the thickness of the soup. The meat tasted like meat from mala tofu. Overall this place was not bad.

David S.

Yelp
Need more soy sauce also the waiter kept saying the n-word which was pretty funny. Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy
google avatar

Victoria T.

Yelp
Came on a Saturday night, didn't have to wait in line. But once I came at lunchtime on a weekend and there was a very very long line. I got the hot and sour soup ramen, Ive never seen it before so I thought I'd try. It tasted like less spicy hot and sour soup, with noodles. I liked it actually, it just needs to be more spicy. Service was great, they were really nice. $11.50 isn't too expensive for ramen compared to all the other ramen places, so that was good. I don't know if I'd come again, it wasn't rly anything special

I love ramen and this place has tons of great reviews, so I decided to check it out. It's worth the rave! The broth was so flavorful and rich. This place is a gem and so far the best place for ramen in the area.

Yelp
A solidly average ramen place. We were planning on trying Tampopo next door, but we didn't have enough cash. Luckily, Sapporo takes card! I got the house ramen. The broth was actually quite rich and delicious; A+ for the broth. The noodles have a nice chew to them and were pretty good as well. The meat was not as great; it has a slightly sweet taste that doesn't really go well with the broth, and I could tell the quality was not very high (it was on the tougher side). The egg was WAY overcooked; almost to the point of looking hard boiled. The bowl was pretty filling and was affordable at $10. Service was super friendly and quick. I would say this place is more of a 3.5, but I'm going to have to round down this time. Still, this is a passable ramen place where you can get a cheap and decent meal. (If you have more time, you should go to Santouka)

Yelp
I come here very often for house ramen. It's always crowded during dining hours. Sometimes even a long line outside the food court. The menu is simple and I basically only choose ramen and Gyoza. I highly recommend their ramen. And they actually have double and extra noodles option!

Yelp
I know it's essentially a food court inside the H-Mart (or in this case entrance area) but we were craving ramen and our first two options were out of business and closed on Sundays so we wandered into H-Mart to see if this food court was similar to the one in Burlington. It is similar just much smaller with only a few options. The Sapporo menu sounded great. They had a huge selection of Japanese meals including sushi, ramen and gyoza. We went with all three. For sushi, we went with a Cambridge roll. I wasn't a huge fan of this as it had a real fishy taste but I know they made it fresh as it took forever. For ramen, the Central ramen was great. Really enjoyed the pork and broth. And we finished with a side of pork gyoza. Lovely and the soy sauce went perfectly. Food was good - not sure I would order again due to the sushi and the amount of time it took to come. We were told 15 minutes, went shopping in H-Mart only to have another 10 or so to wait (for the sushi) then were never called so I went and waited until someone finally helped me and it was ready.

Yelp
I ate here every week from 2010-2016 after my Japanese School ended. We always ordered Vegetable ramen (just a ramen with bunch of vegetables on it, not vegan ramen ew). It was very cost efficient (in American standard, because ramen is SO expensive in the US) and workers were very friendly once they get to know you well. The broth and noodles were acceptable. I just enjoyed how the ramen shop looked and felt eating in there because it reminded me of a traditional ramen shop in Japan...a little bit chaotic, loud, steamy, and a little bit dirty and old. workers operated efficiently and cost-efficient (in the American standard of course). Every week was a hit and miss in this ramen shop, sometimes it is good, sometimes you are like "alright they are having a bad day". I always wished the water in the ramen shop had ice in it to ignore the taste of tap water. But except for that, it was a very cost-efficient good ramen shop to go to.

Yelp
Lemme tell you, I cheated on my gluten-free diet for my school project for this but its worth it: First of, Sapporo in Central Sq does not taste good and I've tried that multiple time - so I'm already skeptical about trying it in Porters. But, I'm glad I was wrong. I had the cold noodle ramen and my friend got the miso ramen. Got to try the miso broth it was really good and not gross like Centrals. Cold noodle was AMAZING. Bomb. The peanut sauce and the fresh veggies, nice noodles and the seaweed works so well together. The meat was good too, perfect bite every time. We came at 2:50, had no idea they close for break at 3pm but they still let us sit and order. Service is normal for Porters anyways. The people next to us was having a bomb *ss time with their ramen too, will go back here again soon :D

Yelp
So we been trying different ramens since that's what I been craving lately during my pregnancy... sad to say I was a little disappointed we didn't finish either bowls. My spicy one was super oily. The gyoza was really good though. We sat outside and I wouldn't recommend anyone to do that because you are sitting in a parking lot next to where they put the trash. They sat us down and said call if you need help like no I don't want to have to get on my phone for you to check on me your customer

Yelp
Roman a little bit salty for me. But I loooooooove this Takoyaki. Due to Cov-19, very limited seat for eating inside. It locates inside a university's food court. Following google map, I took a while to figure it out where it is.

Yelp
This is one of the best ramen in town. Very Sapporo's style ramen. It's so good, their Kara-age is very good too, love it!
