The 38 Best Restaurants in Santiago, Chile | Eater

"This wonderfully kitschy restaurant and bar centered around a picture of the patron saint of misfits, Sarita Colonia, is all about taking Chilean flavors and having fun with them in unexpected ways. Dishes that showcase a hybrid of flavors and techniques from Peru, Asia, and America, like the mac and jaiba, a play on the Chilean crab pie pastel de jaiba, and a fresh scallop take on oysters Rockefeller, are what make dining at Sarita Colonia so fun and surprising. The beef was very good. The side dish less to my liking. The roof level is quite cool as it is open and lets lots of air through. The setting is quite interesting, almost a church. The staff are super friendly and helpful!

My wife and I visited for the first time last night! At the earliest reservation time it was quiet and comfortable. The food was exceptional! The Pastel de Choclo had an excellent Peruvian twist and the fish I ordered was cooked to perfection. Gracias al restaurant por el espumante de Cortesia!

We looked at the review of this place and chose it based on other’s comments. They were about to close for the afternoon - we were served quickly. We chose Wendy in Thailand and Fried rice and egg. The Wendy in Thailand was excellent - rich curry flavor and tender shrimp. A little pricy - 4 meals - with 4 bottled waters. 1 beer and 1 juice $ 108. I would come back and I would recommend !

I was a bit disappointed by the food - it wasn’t as tasty as others have described it. The service however was great and the wine prices were quite low. I would choose this for light bites with drinks on the terrace rather than have a meal here.

The food was absolutely delicious and so were the drinks. The decor and vibe of the place was just fantastic. Helpful staff. A great place to have a fun evening.

Same as other comments here. I think atmosphere was what you are paying for because the food isn’t as good as you think it is and drinks were not good either.

Yelp
This was our last meal before leaving Chile, and we couldn't have picked a better spot. We sat on the highest floor, which was nice and spacious. As others have mentioned, a bit of an off-beat decor which was kind of cool. Pretty sure we walked by a confessional booth along the way there! Overall a very casual vibe. They have an English menu if your Spanish is a bit rusty. Service was friendly and prompt. Good cocktails, and had a great pisco sour. Food was all delicious, some highlights being the beef tartar and the lomo saltado. The seafood was so good, both raw and cooked. The neighborhood is kind of cool too - lots of street art and graffiti on our walk there. If you happen to be in Santiago and can't decide where to eat, Sarita Colonia is a great all-purpose restaurant that won't disappoint.

Yelp
I rarely give 5 but I had to here. The ambiance and background music and eclectic decor accompanies the great Peruvian tasting food. They even had Rocoto pepper sauce! I had the anticucho and baked scallops yummy! Excellent presentation and service. Ask for top floor for non smoking area.

Yelp
We came here with a group of 8 for dinner during the week. I knew nothing of it before arriving and it was the best surprise I've had in a long time! We sat on the main floor and as most have mentioned, this place has odd decor which I loved. We ordered the Amazing miss piggy, ceviche carretillero, Chilcanos, Beef tartare,Tacu tacu with tofu and Fish of the day - I don't remember what it ended up being. Everything was excellent. Presentation was impeccable, the drinks were so pretty you don't even want to drink them but you should because they also taste amazing! Dessert was the Princesa and Crema Volteada. There's clearly a reason this restaurant is one of the best. Save your coins and go! Highly Highly (couldn't recommend enough) Recommend!!

Yelp
Best food we've had in Santiago (3 days in). We sat upstairs (highest level) and Enmanuel was our server. He was knowledgeable and friendly (and his English was impeccable). He recommended two drinks that weren't on the menu (part of a local mixology challenge) and we decided to try one (named for a local celebrity drag queen, we're told) and also got a pisco sour...with mango and passion fruit. Both drinks were carefully crafted (took longer than expected to come out) and delish! For food we started with the street-food style ceviche (AMAZING...bursting with flavor...very large portion); beau got the Wendy in Thailand (name may be slightly off) - but it was a curry & coconut quinoa dish with shrimp and it was INCREDIBLE. I got the beet gnocchi with salmon jerky (at first I thought the translation was off, but it indeed was this delightful salmon jerky). The creamy, cheesy sauce on the gnocchi was so good I wish I could bathe in it! Overall - great ambiance, fantastic service, SUPERB food! Only downside is we didn't save room for dessert... :(. Maybe next time!

Yelp
Best food in Santiago so far. Great service, cool decor... trendy and fun but not pretentious and food is EXCELLENT. We didn't have a reservation but they accommodated us immediately... and thoughtfully provided English menus for the 3 gringos in our party.

Yelp
I came here last month with a few colleagues and we had a chance to try almost every item on the menu. The food at Sarita Colonia is very tasty and I would highly recommend visiting while in Chile plus the ambiance is quite eclectic and will leave you with enough to talk about while you are there. The ceviches were pretty goods as was the lomo saltado (amazing lomo). For entree, I had the Wendy in Thailandia dish which was quite tasty and left me wanting for more. The piscos are also pretty good. Great place and a great meal,

Yelp
this is problem my favorite restaurant in the world. i have only eaten on the rooftop--it's a nice atmosphere. all the food is really great, especially the desserts. i forgot the names of the things i've ordered, but everything they have is excellent.
