A New Pizzeria Brings Fast-Casual Pies to the Hill in North Dallas | Eater Dallas

"A Phoenix-based fast-casual pizzeria has opened a third Texas location at The Hill off Walnut Hill Lane and I-75; the brand already operates two DFW outposts in Irving and Prosper. The menu focuses on quick, shareable pizzas with creative toppings—examples include chicken pesto, artichoke and mushroom, prosciutto and fig, a spicy chicken sausage pie with hatch green chiles and smoked mozzarella, and a “lasagne pie” topped with spinach, mushrooms, ricotta, and meatballs. Starters and other carb-forward options include multiple bruschettas and several pasta dishes, while lighter choices feature soups and salads such as a salmon-topped kale salad with black currants, cashews, farro, romaine hearts, and champagne vinaigrette. Desserts range from tiramisu and gelato to a decadent “pizza cookie” (a half-baked triple chocolate chip cookie dough base crowned with a scoop of gelato). Beverage offerings include wines on tap and by the bottle, local beer, sodas, and more. The new location is open Sunday–Thursday 11 a.m.–9 p.m. and Friday–Saturday 11 a.m.–10 p.m." - Alaena Hostetter

Pokeworks Chooses the Hill in North Dallas For First DFW Location | Eater Dallas

"Planned for the Hill, the Arizona-based Sauce Pizza & Wine will be the chain’s second DFW location after its recent Prosper opening; an application filed with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission lists its address as 8185 Walnut Hill Lane, though an official opening date has not yet been announced." - Amy McCarthy

I met up with a friend here the other day to catch up and try some yummy food. We started off with their Seasonal Salad that was suggested by the friendly cashier.. It had fennel, arugula, pomegranate, mandarin oranges, goat cheese and candied walnuts. It was so fresh and light. It was the perfect salad to start us off. We ordered the Lasagna Pie and the Chicken Caesar and Parmesan pizza. You can choose which crust you would like for your pizza and they bring the yumminess to your table when it's ready. We opted for the hand stretched crust for the Lasagna Pie since it had some heavy duty toppings and the thin crust for the Chicken Caesar pizza. Last and certainly not least we got to try their pizza cookie! It was delicious! The heaping scoop of vanilla gelato on top was just so perfect as it melted on top of the cookie. I highly recommend that you try this place out. The food was delicious, the service was awesome and the location was so cute! They have a patio area which is perfect now that it's getting cooler.

Used to be a great place. Then C19 happened & I think they just do enough to stay open. Food quality seriously dropped. Different employees each time we went in (either a sign of high turnover or keeping hours so low to not offer benefits). Won't be returning. Sad cuz it was a 5 star favorite at one time.

We really enjoyed dinner at Sauce! The lasagna pizza was delicious. Also, get the cookie pizza. It's a little pan of heaven!

Busy hectic pizza shop that got our order wrong. Nice customer service by the counter lady who did the "right thing" and fixed our orders. I would go back for the decent pizza and friendly atmosphere.

This was my first time going to a sauce restaurant. I have heard from a lot of people that it was very good and I was not let down. The stores set up is very open and inviting. My food was great and I got it within 5 minutes of ordering. Definitely coming here again.

I live walking distance to this awesome place. I went there 30 minutes before closing. Everyone was friendly and place was cleaned. The pizza looked great and tasted incredible. Keep it up always guys.

The Pizza Cookie reminds me of BJ’s Pizookie, but this one uses gelato which tastes better than ice cream in my opinion. It’s delicious and perfect to share. Also, the Pizza Cookie helped me realize the Pizookie gets it name because it’s simply a cookie... served like a pizza! You’re welcome

Sauce Pizza – a story of disappointment, defeat, and hope I visited the Sauce pizza location on 5/29/2019 for lunch. After perusing the website and looking over the menu we headed over with hopes of fantastic pizza – unfortunately the pizza gods said “not today.” I ordered the Fig and Prosciutto pizza for $13.75. The cashier did not ask the type of crust I would like so he just defaulted to thin which by the way ended up being so crispy it sounded like I was eating a meal of pork rinds. Also, as someone who has worked in the pizza industry in the past – I noticed Sauce did not put toppings to an acceptable edge radius on my pizza. There was parts of my pizza that was just 2 inches of cracker crust with no toppings and cheese (this breaks rule 5 section B of pizza code 253.54). My co-pilot got the pepperoni pizza and was not impressed – she also got a side Caesar for $5.00 and it was uninspired and not worth the price point and the croutons tasted like Walmart’s Great Value brand. The only redeeming part of this story is we did order a pizza to go for management and they ordered the Pig – it came on regular crust and I taste tested it back in the office – that pie was good.
