Savannah Fried Chicken

My first time trying, they were amazing. We had chicken and shrimp fried rice. 1st the chicken remind you of a southern background, very crispy, fried to perfection, and just a hint of season. Definitely wasn’t expecting this experience from a Chinese restaurant. The fried rice had plenty of onions just the way I like it. The rice was very seasoned with a hint of sugar. I could have done without the sugar but it all blended very well. Looking forward to my next visit.

Is it the best fried chicken in town? Maybe. Is it the best fried chicken in town FOR THE MONEY? 100%. This sketchy looking place in the Bacon Park Plaza looks like somewhere you don't want to go, but you should. The employees are very nice, the chicken comes out fresh, hot, crispy, and juicy, and the fried rice is really good as well. I've tried the fries a few times, and they aren't great. Stick with the chicken and fried rice and you'll be happy.

I saw a TikTok that said this place had the best fried chicken in Savannah. Now, usually I write extremely long reviews (it’s the writer in me), but for this one all I need y’all to know is this: They did not lie! The fried chicken is the best in Savannah. See picture! Bye! Go get you some.

Tried SFC for the first time other day ..its really chicken is juicy and crispy , i just wish the chicken had a little less salt and some other herb or spice but overall one of the best fried chicken spots in Savannah .

Flounder dinner was not what I expected as a first timer. Very Soggy and mushy breading, fish falling apart, so I couldn't eat it. My friend said his Fried rice and chicken were really good though. I personally wish I had a better experience, wasted money. Maybe next time.

One of the best fried chicken we ever had. Meat is brined and juicy. Skin was well seasoned and super crispy. Best of all is the affordability.

Definitely the best fried chicken in Savannah…. Get your food and get up outta here though barely anywhere to sit. Also they do not pick up their phones here so make sure you plan ahead and beat the lunch traffic

An interesting menu mix of some Southern staples and traditional Asian entrees. I'd read only positive reviews of their fried chicken and that brought me here today. I ordered a 3 piece box fried chicken box and the chosen side of French fries were the crinkle variety. My ordered was quickly ready, served piping hot and served with condiments and napkins. The fried chicken was moist with crispy skin, and the dinner rolls were very fresh and soft. Nothing special about the frozen crinkle fries, but they were served hot! A slight odd taste had me wondering about the freshness of the frying oil. I'd like to return and try their wings as the reviews recommend. This is a no frills, small restaurant in an old strip center. Don't judge this book by its cover. There was a short line but customers were quickly in and out at this lunchtime spot.

We got chicken here in Savannah and it was excellent. They had chicken and Asian food. It was in a small strip mall off the beaten tourist area. I had looked up fried chicken in Savannah and found this restaurant by chance and was very pleased. I did not take any pictures.

This has got to be the WORST chicken I have ever tasted. It tasted like a mouth full of flour. I have never before tasted chicken that has ZERO salt, pepper, anything. When my wife said something about it to the workers they told her "that's how people like it"! What "people"??? Who has ever said they really wish they could get fried chicken without any flavor? They claimed "a lot of people" like to bite into a mouthful of flour.

Food was amazing; you order at the window, they hand you a buzzer & most ppl wait in the car til order is ready. Tap in! Prices reasonable food is scrumptious

New management but the food is still pretty tasty. It's always crowded though, which I guess is a good thing.

This is hands down the best fried chicken I've had in Savannah. A hole in the wall kind of spot that is consistently packed with others who feel the same. Whatever you plan on ordering, get a couple extra. You can thank me later.

Closest think to NY style fried rice I've had since moving here! The last time though the rice did taste as though the entire pepper container fell in. Chicken is cooked great and so flavorful! Definitely recommend!

Excellent place for budget friendly and pretty good chicken. There are up charges for CC transactions. Location looks a little suspect but I've never felt unsafe.

It was our last day in Savannah and we wanted out of the tourist traps and to find somewhere you can tell the food was cooked with love. A quick search told us we had to try Simple Soul or not consider our trip complete. A little off the beaten path that is downtown, which was so welcome, and we found this amazing place and its outstanding owner. She was so sweet and kind we already knew her food was going to be out of the world. This was the best food we had while here because it came from her soul and it showed. If you're in town don't forget to stop here and get....well anything you won't be disappointed.

I was visiting my in-laws in Savannah GA and was reviewing places to buy chicken. I read the yelp reviews for Savannah Fried Chicken and decided to give it a shot. I ordered the 12 piece dark mixed with a medium lemonade. The chicken was superb and the lemonade was refreshing. l will definitely be back if I am ever in the area visiting my relatives.

This is the spot for chicken & rice. Always fresh. It's like a mix between Chinese food & homemade. Try it & I bet you'll crave it again.

I heard so much about this place until I had to try it.....BIG MISTAKE!!! I ordered the four piece wings with fries and got one wing, one drumstick and two breasts. It was extremely salty and due to me having hbp, I couldn't eat it. I ordered three meals (two went elsewhere) and they also complained about the salt. The wing that I ended up eating, tasted like fish!! Never again, I'll stick with what I know. I do not suggest this place to anyone. I'm very disgusted that I donated money to this restaurant.

This is an old Savannah favorite. Savannah Fried Chicken has been around for over 50 years. Even with passing ownership the food has remained consistent. The food is always prepared fresh so it is hot. The service is spot on. You can order via the phone and will be given a time to pick up. When placing an order in the establishment you are given a pager to notify you when your order is ready. The personnel remember customers by name (and there are many) and are always friendly!

The best fried chicken in Savannah hands down! Fried rice is great too! You cannot go wrong with anything you order here! Been coming here since I was younger!

It's been awhile since I've last been here. They've renovated, updated menus & cleaned the place up (really nicely). Good food & reasonable prices. They also have a health inspection score of 98! #winning

I went for the first time and the chicken was all that and then some. The chicken was fried to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. I also tried the fish sandwich and I was not impressed. I liked the little restaurant notification piece they give you to let you know that your order is ready. That was cool for a place like that. I will definitely go back again.

This is a nice restaurant. It's due for a little upgrading. Hey it works for their customers overall. The first time having this place and the chicken is fried to perfection the rice was fresh and delicious. This is not your Traditional type of Chinese Restaurant but I enjoyed it. Don't plan on bringing a huge family because its small. I always forget to take photos. I'll work on that for future references.

Savannah fried chicken is right around the corner, convenient to Food Lion and other Chinese restaurant.. You can't really dine here, it's more of a take out. The owners are quite friendly. The best fried chicken in Savannah better than KFC or Popeyes. They know how to season their chicken. They also have chicken gizzards. Their fried rice isn't oily or dried as other places. In fact, I recommend the pork fried rice, it is so tasty. Their lemonade is really good. Their prices are affordable.

I was introduced to this place by a coworker and I've been going every since. The food is consistently delicious. They give you a huge portion and this is a very popular restaurant.

I was very surprised with the fried chicken here. At first I thought it would be like a regular Chinese restaurant with the same generic food but their fried chicken is really good. I will definitely come back.

I enjoy the grilled chicken bites and most of the customer service. The drive thru operator could use more work but other than that it was nice and clean.

This little gem has been around for as long as I can remember! They're best known for the "Wing Box". It comes with 3 or more chicken wings, fries and 2 fresh rolls for around $6.00. I think they have some of THE BEST SWEET TEA IN SAVANNAH. They have other Chinese favorites as well. My kids love the pepper steak and the mandarin rice which comes with several different meats and shrimp. It's in a strip mall but don't let that stop you! The service is fast and friendly. About 10 years ago, I needed to put together finger food for a last minute event and they were able to provide a large amount of wings (I provided the platter) and they were delicious as if I had ordered a box lunch. They have a few booths if you want to eat in-house, but orders are mostly to go because of the size of the dining area. I've never had an order wrong or have been dissatisfied with food. Only downside is that they close at 6:00 p.m. and because it's a family business they do close a few weeks each year for vacation. Which they surely deserve because of the amount of service they provide. It's a family favorite for years and will continue to be.

I was here last week for a short trip. I stopped by and had good meal here. Service was awesome, and the chicken was so good. I'll come back whenever I have a chance to go back there yummy yummy

DO not judge the book by its cover !! At first glance you may wonder why you stopped at this place, very wired vibe... southern chicken and Chinese is a different combination. We stayed downtown Savannah and ate at Lady & Son's for their southern chicken and this place.....hands down beats it out. It was the hole in the wall Southern Fried chicken that we were looking for. Definitely a must to stop place on your way to or from Wormsloe park.

We went for the first time today due to frie dos recommendations. Wi got the chicken breast and wing with manderan rice. It was very very good with enough rice for three people. I would rate it as one of the best fried chicken in Savannah. It is cash only a d refills on drinks are not free. They have 4 booths and was clean. Don't be fooled by the outside look. This place e is very very casual.

Enjoyed two white meat fried breast, Excellent fried chicken, crispy outside, juicy inside, Hugh pieces. Served w fries, 2 rolls, ketchup, salt, and a napkin. Hubby had Beef fried rice was tasty, again Hugh portion. Served w soy and duck sauce. Both meals cost $13.25!!!!

Delicious Gizzards Dinner. I've past by this place countless times never once thought it would be a good chicken spot. I also tried the chicken sandwich and that was delicious as well.

I passed by this place for many of years and never stopped, until today. The inside of the place is sketchy but, the fried chicken and fries are delicious. I went in with low expectations, and came out with good food. This is now my place to go for my fried chicken fix :)

This chicken place is in a extremely run down old business complex. The food has a weird smell. They serve it to you from behind dirty plexiglass. Don't recommend going here at all.

So the fried chicken was pretty good. It had that light crisp to it that is perfectly crunchy and flavored really well but you don't feel like all you're eating is a thick fried shell. I got the shrimp fried rice which was average I guess. It needed something else though. I didn't eat the fries, but people in my group said they really needed some salt. You probably can't beat the prices though since I got three meals and an extra side of chicken fried rice and it cost $26. I feel like most people probably take the food to go because when I went there was a bunch of people in there but all were waiting. But also the tables and floor were pretty nasty. I don't think they get cleaned after every use because we sat down at a table to wait and quickly decided that we couldn't touch really anything without getting greasy, ketchupy, or covered in salt.

Definitely one of my options when I feel like take-out. The food is well prepared (I like the wing box). Also, this place is cash only. The sign is posted right at the window before you place your order. That's pretty rare, but they seem to have a steady flow of business who don't see that as a problem.

$6 for a 3 pc mixed dinner box with fries and two dinner rolls. rolls were a little dry, but chicken and fries were so good! Chicken was good quality - very little fat (besides the crispy skin of course), and the fries. I loved the fries. Crispy yet soft. Filling and for $6! I'll be back! Xie xie!

OMG best fried chicken in Savannah seriously! They also have AMAZING fried rice just basically everything is so gooooood. Plus it's so cheap it's crazy.
