8 Best Seafood Restaurants in Savannah

"“Fast casual” is a familiar concept for burritos, salads, poké, and now—however improbably—low country boil, one of the signature dishes of the Georgia and South Carolina coasts. Located on Broughton Street, Savannah’s busy commercial thoroughfare, Savannah Seafood Shack does a brisk business; order at a counter and your meal will be delivered swiftly to your table. The joint bears a closer resemblance to a Chipotle than it does to anything you’d typically think of as a “seafood shack,” but the customers keep coming back—and for good reason." - Sam Worley

Google
Came for the clam chowder...I was craving it and it hit the spot. We also ordered the lowboil and it was excellent. Service was great. You order at the counter, they bring your food and it's self drive drinks. Employees are attentive and kind to bring anything you need during your dinner/lunch.

Google
I don’t usually write reviews while I’m still sitting at the table, but this meal deserved it. The seafood boil was absolutely incredible. The seasoning had so much flavor, the fresh lemon just made it even better, and the butter for the crab legs? Ridiculously good. Everything hit. The vibe was super chill, the music was great, and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. I’d honestly come back to Savannah just to eat here again. So glad I found this place.

Google
It’s been my must-go-to place for years. I eat there every time I come to Savannah. I’m not the expert in Cajun food, but I really love theirs. The seasoning and the prices are great, and I will also highly recommend them!

Google
Savannah Seafood Shack is an amazing gem! The atmosphere is charming and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal. I highly recommend the fried calamari as an appetizer and the fried shrimp combo for the main course – they were both outstanding! The service was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. Don’t miss out on the key lime pie for dessert; it’s a must-try! Overall, a fantastic spot for fresh seafood. I can't wait to go back!

Google
Ok so this place is small and more like a diner setting so dont think this is fine dining. The low country boil and steamed clams were served in bags and the plates and utensiles were plastic. To order food you have to go up to the counter, but the food is brought to you. The people working there were very nice and considerate. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Having tried some of the more expensive tourist trap places I found the food here better!

Google
Visited here while on vacation after it was recommended to us by a friend. In general, the food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t anything special/something that you can make yourself. We ordered the low country boil bag and while all of the ingredients were there the flavor just felt like zaratans. The friend shrimp sandwich was decent but again not too special. The staff was all very kind and the entire restaurant was clean and well decorated.

Google
Oh my god the seafood boil 🤤 I don't have the appropriate words to express how delicious it is so I won't even try. All you need to know is while on our Babymoon, in the culinary oasis that is Savannah, Georgia, we went TWICE. Also the Crab Pie is amazing

John Abrahamson

Google
Loved our seafood basket. Everything tasted fresh. The corn and hush puppy sides were also delicious. Only feedback is, they should add wine to their drink offerings. They have canned beer and cider, but seafood also goes well with cava, rose, white wine.

Yelp
Read about the "voted best low country boil in savannah. Had to find out. And yes. Definitely lived up to the name. 2 cobbettes of corn. Lots of shrimp and andouile sausage. Make sure it is deveined and tails off on the shrimp. Very good. Candyce had the chicken tender combo with the sweet potato fries. With hush puppies to share. Very good all around and worth the wait.
google avatar

Yelp
If you like fried food you may like but the low country boil for 41.00 is ridiculous not much seafood in the bag and its in a fast food setting No way its worth it
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Finger licking good! Banging shrimp is BANGIN! Almost reminds me of Asian/Panda Express style. But much better. Fried oysters were good. Hush puppies were great! The boil was loaded with food: corn on the cob, sausage, shrimp, and potatoes. Seasoned well and super tasty :) Add two kids meals and some drinks and the bill was just over $60. Not too bad to feed a fam of four. Certainly worth it. They don't skimp on the portions either. Place was packed for lunch. One of the best meals we had in Savannah! Thumbs up!

Yelp
We were excited to try this place because we all love fried clams and while they don't have whole belly ones, the strips were worth a try. I have to say that it turns out the clam strips are not their strong suit. The boil bags seem to be the hit item and I would try that if I went back. The clam strips were more breading than anything and the breading was too heavy. We also had some clam chowder which was okay and an oyster cone which was a fun novelty, but the slaw underneath was a little strange. We had a great time catching up with a friend, but lunch left us a little underwhelmed.

Yelp
Savannah Seafood Shack gave me a great first impression of a Lowcountry Boil. Tender and delicious. Just the right amount of spice. Didn't love the sweet cinnamon-y sauce that was served with the Hush Puppies, but they still tasted great. Atmosphere is casual; we went here for lunch. Service is good. Would recommend!

Yelp
We were recommended this place as a "very good local seafood casual dining" restaurant. It's super casual (order at the front counter amd they bring your food to your table) but everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. My wife had the Shrimp Po' Boy (Buffalo Style) w/Calum Fries as her side. I had the Fried Clam Strips (Buffalo Sauce on the side) w/Cole Slaw. Both were great! Definitely recommend the Buffalo Style if U like a little spice on your fried seafood. And the fries and cole slaw were very good! The Crab/Shrimp Boil looked amazing but we didn't have a lot of time and it looked like a lot more work. So we will get next time. They had a decent Beer selection and fountain drinks. The Manager went around to ask how everyone's meal was and wait staff was very friendly! We really could not ask for more. 5 stars!

Yelp
Craving some fried shrimp and came to Savannah Seafood Shack for a fix. Casual dining, you're seated and then walk up to the counter to place your order. We got two shrimp combos, one with fries and one with hush puppies. The hushpuppies were sooooooooo good! The sauce that comes with it tasted almost like a honey butter. I would come back just for a large order of hushpuppies.

Yelp
I visited Savannah Seafood Shack back in December 2024. This was a great find on Google & Yelp, I trusted the reviews. I called my order in with no issues, great customer service. Keep in mind they are located in a downtown busy area. Parking is gonna be hard to find, I parked for a few minutes on the side of street. They do have alot of seating inside the restaurant. All the food was yummy, seasoned well and good portion sized. I ordered the low country seafood boil. I will most definitely will return and hopefully eat inside next time.
google avatar

Sharon N.

Yelp
The food was very good. I would not bother ordering any appetizers. I had the steamed shrimp, came with potatoes and corn on the cob. It was delicious. I was so full, in fact I ate there yesterday and I think I am still full. The ordering is a little odd as they seat you and tell you your table number. When you are ready you go to the counter and order and they bring it to you.
google avatar

Yelp
Probably our least favourite meal we had in Savannah. Their prices were good. Ambiance was lacking, it's a counter service place which was fine. Got the fried catfish poboy and low country boil. Both were very average. The boil lacked any real flavour and the shrimp was extremely difficult to peel - don't think it was good quality. Wouldn't be in a rush to come back here.
google avatar

Yelp
This was our first stop in Savannah the night we arrived and we weren't disappointed! We snagged a seat right by the window and ended up spotting Bert Kreischer walking down the sidewalk while we waited for our food! I got the low country boil and it was good, not great. The shrimp were overcooked and she shell was really hard to peel off. The corn and sausage that come in the bag were delicious. The seasoning was spicy! I love spicy but it was lighting me up so watch out for that. My husband got the crawfish boil and added sausage. He liked it and ended up helping me finish mine. The hushpuppies were really good as well. This is an order-at-the-counter type of place with a self serve beverage station. Not fancy at all but it was exactly what we were looking for!

Cathy G.

Yelp
Did not hesitate to give our experience at SSS 5 stars. First, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Second, the low country boil...YUM! I had read reviews of other restaurants' LCB and several of them mentioned them not having any flavor. Fear not, here the LCB is very well seasoned. It's so tasty and flavorful. I highly recommend getting the shrimp deveined and peeked, unless you love sucking the juices out of the tail. Having the shrimp ready to eat allows you to dig right in with nothing getting in your way. Everything in the boil was cooked perfectly. The hush puppies with honey butter are also so good!
google avatar

Steve C.

Yelp
Nice eatery in downtown Savannah, food was ok, small portions and fries were undercooked. Service is a bit confusing, wait to be seated but you get up and go to the counter to place your order???
google avatar

Jason L.

Yelp
For the price, this place was probably the best value we discovered in Savannah / Tybee for a seafood meal. Order at the the counter & they bring it out to you. Neat spot, right in the middle of down-town Savannah, GA. We had a "family style" low country boil with Shrimp & Muscles which was cooked very well. Probably could have done with a bit more spice/salt, but we didn't ask for it.
google avatar

Yelp
Came to Savannah for a trip and of course had to start out with some fresh seafood. This place felt like a gem to find and I was relieved that my experience here was great! When you walk in, you're told your table number or get seated with the menus then walk to the counter to order and it'll be brought out to the table. We started with the hushpuppies which were probable the best I've ever had. It was fried perfectly, a little sweet, and had corn in it which is all I want in a hushpuppy. Also, the butter was super good! I got the fried calamari with corn and I loved how it was fried because it didn't make it super oily and the calamari tasted fresh. The corn tasted amazing and very buttery but I wish it was hotter as it was a bit cold. My boyfriend got the low country boil so I tried the crawfish and it was definitely the best crawfish I've ever had with the butter dip.

Yelp
Small casual dine in area The service was GREAT. I wish I caught their names, but very very helpful, kind, & urgent. They're not actual servers, this place is more of a walk up & order kind of service but they'd occasionally walk around & check on me which was greatly appreciated. Ordered a cup of chowder $5. & a single portion of their lowcountry seafood boil (shrimp, corn, sausage) $16.50 For $2 more you could get the shrimp peeled & deveined. I opted to leave it on, because I wanted to suck the juice out of the shells, & I'm glad I did because their seasoning IS SO DANG GOOD. The quality for that price is such a good deal, & I'm so glad I came across them. To start, the chowder was realllllll good! New England style, with a great size cut of potato in side. Super creamy & delicious. Generous cup size for $5. The boil was GREAT. Loved the flavor, the sausage, & potatoes were cooked perfectly! I did knock a star because the star of the boil (shrimp) was so overcooked it was hard to peel! At first I thought it was maybe my gloves but when I finally got a piece I eagerly bit into it & the shrimp was so soft it created a very weird texture. That was the case for about 70% of the boil, the rest were great. Based on their reviews & my first experience they clearly know what they're doing so I'd just assume it's a rare occurrence for that to happen. Also, they sell their seasoning! Yall- it's so good I bought one to take home! I'd describe it as a heavy lemon pepper flavor with Cajun! 10/10 Will definetly be back!

Yelp
Had a very good and inexpensive dinner here. A great place for affordable seafood. Everything was fresh. We got the shark attack (a platter of fried items) and it was plenty for two. Definitely get a side of corn it was delicious. Service was quick and you pay before you eat at the counter. Not a fancy spot but nice.
google avatar

Yelp
My wife and I were visiting Savanna for the first time and not feeling the seafood we tried. That was till we tried this basic looking yet clean surprise. My wife and I each got a bowl clam chowder and both of us enjoyed it. My wife got the fish tacos for her entree. She said it was a tad spicy but tasty and filling. I opted for the Shrimp Boil and enjoyed every bite of it. Sadly it was such a large portion i was unable to finish it. Let me give you a heads up its very spicy which was good for me but not for everyone. After the meal I asked the manager how can I order it less spicy and she said order spice on the side. The meal was half what I spent at other restaurants and enjoyed the most.

Marjorie R.

Yelp
Fast food meets seafood. Great, friendly service and delicious food - plus great music!
google avatar

Patricia B.

Yelp
I was sooo excited for this place because I'm from Canada and ever since I landed in Savannah I've been pleasantly surprised by how big the portions are here. However, sadly the portions here were a bit disappointing. I got the crab steam boil combo and the sides (corn and potatoes) were amazing!!! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The portion itself was quite small and that's where my disappointment lay. I think I was just expecting something a but more filling. They provided a couple potatoes and two cobs of corn and one cluster of crab but I was still left a bit hungry after. Other than that I have no complaints about service or ambiance.

Yelp
Seafood Shrimp crab crawfish and more Low country boil Quick service Indoor and outdoor seating No parking Amex accepted No reservations Walk ins only Restrooms inside Casual relax feel
google avatar

Cecille C.

Yelp
Ordered the seafood boil here but my friend and I found it to be a little salty. The crab cheese nuggets were delicious though! I could be back but I will definitely tell them to ease off the salt for my boil. It was a Friday evening and there was about a 10 minute wait for a party of 2. This establishment can get pretty busy and parking can be hard as it is in a busy street in downtown Savannah. There is plenty of seating inside and some tables outside as well.
google avatar

Tierra L.

Yelp
We ran into this spot driving downtown looking for decent seafood. There was no wait. I got the shrimp tacos which were good. They had a trio option but you could only order 3 of the same kind (even though they have 3 options available). The price was medium range and decent value for the price. Most of the meals were ala carte. I'd return. No flare, decent casual place
google avatar

Zoe S.

Yelp
If you are in downtown Savannah and want to get your seafood fix this place is for you. Boil was pretty good. Portions are big. We each got a bag and couldn't finish it. We said we would've been ok with just one bag.
google avatar

Omar A.

Yelp
Came back for the steamed fish tacos and they were bomb. Highly recommended ! The sauce and the seasoning were fantastic
google avatar

Allie G.

Yelp
My friend and I were craving a seafood boil, and chose Savannah Seafood Shack based on its good reviews. They weren't super busy on a Friday evening, and the interior had a casual vibe. The decor was nautical-themed, with fishing net on the ceiling, and sea creature wall art. We seated ourselves and then went up to order at the counter. I chose the The Love Shack Steamin Combo, which was a little on the pricy side, but included Shrimp, Crawfish, Clams, Mussels, and Snow Crab Legs. It also came with potatoes and corn on the cob, which I wasn't able to substitute for any other sides. Service was quick and our Steamin Combos came out in plastic bags, with bibs (super necessary), crab crackers/utensils, lemon, and garlic butter. The portion size was perfect and I ended up finishing all the seafood, but eating it was a whole project (mostly in a fun way). The Crab was my favorite part and went so well with the garlic butter. The Crawfish were not the best, but likely because they weren't in season. Overall though, good for a messy but tasty dinner!
google avatar

Kathy Y.

Yelp
Delicious and comfortable casual seafood dining in Savannah! We went for dinner and they were pretty busy, but there was always still space for people to come in. You order food at the front and then they will bring the food to you. The low country boil was delicious and the portions were generous. I also really liked their fried seafood and crab pie. Definitely a good deal for seafood for the area.

John D.

Yelp
Great low county boil in a bag! I was very surprised to find such great food in a casual, order at the counter, restaurant. For a casual bite, this is a great place.
google avatar

Rusty S.

Yelp
I loved the abundant seafood especially the crab legs. Will try again next time im in Savanah.
google avatar

Brian Y.

Yelp
My wife and I were in for lunch and split the low country boil and a side of hushpuppies. The boil was very good (use larger shrimp pls) and the hushpuppies were ok but not great.
google avatar

Adina S.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place... but I unfortunately can't say that I did. My friend and I were so excited to try some seafood boil, but this place just didn't live up to the hype for us. I think it really comes down to the flavor. Everything was cooked nicely, but the seasoning mainly tasted like salt. It was just missing that kick. Weirdly enough, we enjoyed the corn the most, which indicates to me that the seafood was a bit of a miss. No issues with the place itself. It was pretty busy, with lots of seating. You order at the counter, so it's pretty casual. Pricing seemed fair.
google avatar

Monika B.

Yelp
Came in on our last day in Savannah, well last moments really. We left on our flight a few hours after stopping in. Anywho, it was a great way to end a great vacation! I do have to say the boil was the highlight of the meal here. I got the fried shrimp tacos and my husband got the fried shrimp po' boy. Both were good, but the boil was great. It was flavor packed and exactly what my kids (who were wanting to try a seafood boil) were looking for.
google avatar

Matt L.

Yelp
Got a table on the sidewalk quickly. Fast casual place where you walk up and order. Hush puppies came in just a few minutes and were delicious. Looooved the honey cinnamon butter. Lowcountry boil came shortly after and was also great.
google avatar

Danielle P.

Yelp
Food was pretty good. A solid portion of shrimp in this meal. Ordered the Cajun fries for the side. And hush puppies. I thought the setup was a big odd- they seat you at a table where you look at the menu and then you have to go up to order. I guess maybe because they don't want a two-top to sit at a 4-top? People seemed to enjoy the food. Quick bites, didn't wait long for my dinner. And it was hot.
google avatar

Shelly C.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Clean . Food was great, would definitely come back. Chicken tender Po-boy, and low country boil were top notch. Hush puppies are a must-try!
google avatar

Megan J.

Yelp
Went for lunch on a saturday & service was quick. You order at the front, take a number & they bring the food to you. Great pricing and the fish/shrimp was delicious. Plenty of seating inside, everything was clean and I would come back!
google avatar

Brant D.

Yelp
Low country boils are kinda my go to, I have boiled hundreds of pounds at a time and fed 135-150 people, this is certainly a tourist trap restaurant down town , our boil was not even that seasoned and shrimp were small and way over cooked to the point of being rubbery..wife got hers peeled got mine regular and shells were not coming off without a fight.. pretty disappointed given the reviews they had..
google avatar

Matt L.

Yelp
Whenever I'm in the vicinity of Savannah, I make sure to visit Savannah Seafood Shack for their renowned Low Country Boil. Their generous portions, fresh ingredients, and exquisite blend of spices never disappoint. I can't resist pairing it with their crispy, golden hush puppies and a side of honey butter. It's consistently a top-notch dining experience, deserving of a five-star rating. Give it a try and see for yourself! Our Famous Low Country Boil A local favorite! Comes with shell on shrimp, corn on the cob, premium local beef sausage, and red potatoes. Topped with garlic butter, lemon and our house Cajun seasoning. With just the right amount of heat! - I cheated and upgraded to peeled and deveined shrimp to save the mess Hush Puppies with Honey Butter
google avatar

Tawnya L.

Yelp
Came here because we really wanted a good seafood boil and the reviews were good. We were able to walk right in and get a table. You order at the counter and they deliver the food table side. We had the shrimp and crab boil. It was very tasty and everything was perfectly cooked and seasoning was great but could have used more lemon, but I like the citrus. I had paid for deveined shrimp (weird to have to pay extra) but they came whole and not deveined. However, they quickly rectified this. They do provide crackers but the forks or picks would have made it easier to crack and pick the crab. The sauces they provide are excellent as well. All in all it was a great experience.
google avatar

Cooper B.

Yelp
The food was outstanding, the shrimp and low country and crab balls. All A++! The staff as incredibly friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. We found this place because their BBQ restaurant is so good, turns out they know seafood just as well!

Yelp
While visiting Savannah I looked up places to eat and the Savannah Seafood Shack kept popping up so I had to try it for myself. It's located in downtown Savannah and it's in a nice area to walk around once you're done eating. I arrived there when they first opened and the staff were really nice and helpful, very tentative. You place your order at the counter and then the food gets served to you. For an appetizer I ordered the JALAPENO CHEDDAR CRAB POPPERS, it came with a good amount of poppers and they were delicious. Savannah Seafood Shack is known for their waffle cones so I ordered the calamari one and it was amazing. The breading on the calamari was light with good seasoning, also the waffle cone had a little sweetness to it that went really well with the calamari. I also ordered the FRIED FISH PO' BOY and it tasted so fresh and it also had a light breading to it as well. All the food was seasoned to perfection and didn't feel heavy. I felt satisfied after the meal without feeling overstuffed. The service was great, the dining area clean, and the food delicious.
google avatar

Cara E.

Yelp
I have wanted to eat at Savannah Seafood Shack for years (I love fried shrimp!), and we finally stopped by today on our trip. We ordered a shrimp and fish combo with fries and a side of hushpuppies. We placed the order online for pick up. The order was ready and easy to pick up. We were not given any shrimp - only fish - in our order, which was a huge bummer because I both really wanted them and also was charged for them. The fish was fine, but the fries were terrible. The hushpuppies were good, though!
google avatar

Derrick J.

Yelp
Place was smaller than I expected but the food had huge flavor! I ordered the fried catfish and shrimp with sweet potato fries. Shrimp was better than the catfish to me. My girl got the crab leg boil with a the fixings and I helped her finish it! Good eating!

Doreen L.

Yelp
The service was good however if you are looking for a seafood boil this is not the place. The shirmp I wanted devined but shell on still, they did not have. They serve peeled shrimp boil. My husband ordered the scallops they looked like frozen oven scallops not a bad taste, if you know scallops they are not the real deal. The sweet potato fries were good, the hush puppies too. I decided to eat I was hungry the sausage had a good taste. It is just not the real seafood boil we are use too. Not fresh seafood
google avatar

Suvart T.

Yelp
I order my food and with 15 mins my food was out hot and fresh. I order the shrimp combo along with clams. Both the shrimp and the clams were a 10/10
google avatar

Dave T.

Yelp
Well when your in Savannah you have to have some sort of seafood, since it is a seafood town. We used the yelp app and decided to give this one a try. I went with the shrimp boil devained, which is a $2 dollar upcharge. It comes with corn on the Cobb, shrimp, potatoes, and sausage. My wife had a fried plate of shrimp, calamari, and French fries. We waited outside for about 25 minutes, it is a busy place around dinner time, but was worth it. Once you get seated and you decide what you want you order at the counter. Drinks are at a soda fountain and have free refills. Both of us ate here for about $50 to $60 bucks. It is also located in the high traffic shopping area of Savanah so you will find stuff to do after eating. Worth a try.
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
I can't even lie, this was the BEST shrimp po boy I've ever had. Prepared and seasoned to absolute perfection and SO delicious. I scarfed down the entire thing! The hush puppies were incredible as well. Counter service was friendly. This looks like such an unassuming little seafood place but I would say it's an absolute must-try in Savannah for a casual, quick, and delicious meal!
google avatar

Russell P.

Yelp
It is a good place but only sausage and shrimp and corn in a boil bag??? Kinda disappointing and lacks creativity And the hush puppies are like the size of nickels

Yelp
Along my way south, the group decided to stop by Savannah, GA for a night and knew we need to get a taste of the Southern Seafood. We stopped by the Seafood Shack and ordered the food and a few brewskies. 1. Food - 3 stars. We ordered the combo selection and a upgrade. Interestingly we got more sausage, potatoes, and shrimp than anything else. The upgrade to the crab legs were minimal. Overall the flavor profile was decent but not spicy enough for my taste. 2. Service - 5 stars. We were served by a lovely young lady at the counter named Katherine. She was very pleasant and helpful. She was the ideal concierge as she tried to assist the party members as best she could. Ask for her. 3. Cost vs. Value - 3 stars. The service outshone the menu but that was enough for me. Overall - 4 stars. I find in my travels that having excellent and open service goes a long way and finds avenues for the eater to excuse the level of food (sometimes). The management at SSS should thank Katherine for being one of the customer faces.
