The green curry and Thai iced tea was so great! And rice with meat and fried basil was also super tasty.

We loved the food and the service was friendly. We have been twice so far on our holiday. The fried ginger snapper and crispy fried snapper curry were delicious (we asked for mild and it was perfect for us). Paid around $68 for one starter and two mains (before tip). Travelled there on the L from South beach around 1/2 hour. Would recommend.

Take out order. Took more than an hour and 15 minutes. They blamed it on the driver, but our stop was the first stop. The restaurant was overwhelmed. They used to have top-notch service, but they need to work on that for the price they’ve increased the food to. If I’m gonna spend $100 on dinner for two people it better be on time.

I wish I could give 4.5 stars instead. Food was pretty good, but a bit pricey. We got the chicken pad thai, spring rolls, and chicken satay. Pad thai was one of the best I have ever had, but the spring rolls and satay were a bit boring and the sauces were watery. Overall though, I liked the food and will come back in the future!

The worst Thai food I’ve ever had. I would leave the review at all but I feel like they need to step up on their food, ingredients. The oil they use is horrible and honestly it’s just bad. Even something simple like Tom yum soup came with bunch of shrimp and big pieces of onion and sweet. Papaya salad was not fresh.

I absolutely love this place. It’s the cutest little Thai restaurant in Miami Beach. The food is amazing for a reasonable price. Also, you can bring your own drinks without having to pay an overpriced amount like in other restaurants. I will keep coming back over and over again.

I really wanted to fall in love with this quaint Thai restaurant (they also have sushi), but it fell a bit short of what I expected. The place has a great neighborhood feel and the service was both friendly and attentive. They have a BYOB policy so we brought a few bottles of wine to enjoy, which was wonderful. The Thai appetizers were very good, especially the nam sod. I usually try to order more authentic and difficult to find Thai dishes, but the pad Thai was highly recommended by the staff. I asked for it spicy. Overall, I was very disappointed with the dish. It was extremely sweet and totally disrupted the balance that makes pad Thai so delicious. It had zero heat, not even slightly spicy. I was really expecting more since it was recommended and it entirely changed my opinion of the restaurant since everything was good up to that point. My friend also ordered the pad Thai and agreed that it was far too sweet and had no heat. We were too full for dessert. Overall, pros were clean, friendly, BYOB, and tasty appetizers. Cons: pad Thai was poorly executed and totally missed the mark which is really disappointing for a Thai restaurant.

This is your mom and pop Thai restaurant. It not really fancy but quaint. The food for lunch is priced well but dinner is a bit more . I had the green curry. I like there curry it is not as sweet as man Thai curry. The spring rolls are always fresh made and very crunchy light outside with good stuff not just cabbage.

The food was great, especially the seafood soup, fresh and delicious!!! So was everything else!! Service was quick and staff friendly. The places was cute and clean. Thinking of coming back the next day for lunch ....

This one star is based solely on the inaccuracies of their website and Yelp page, both of which state they are open for lunch on Monday and Tuesday ,which they are not, as I discovered the hard way today. FIX this, Sawaddee, or you will continue to accrue these bad ratings, which you may or may not deserve for your food.

I'm just learning about Thai food. It's quite a complex cuisine. We'd heard this was a good place - it was ok. I had the Pad-See-Ew - a dish with chicken, noodles, and vegetables; The sauce was particularly tasty. My husband enjoyed one of the curries with tofu. Our daughter ordered a dish with rice noodles and beef; actually we switched dishes as hers was not satisfying. As they say on the cooking shows, it was not toothsome! Service was very good, but the atmosphere was not comfortable. The large of two rooms was way too cold; I had to order tea for us to get warm. Another party was very loud to the point of intrusive.

This place used to be great. Do not believe their website or signs It says open until 10.30pm but we arrive at 10.05 and they refuse to serve us. Not cool we are locals but still had to drive there... unprofessional !

Great Thai- authentic and not just cooked for American tastebuds. Green curry (not too runny and chock full of veggies) and minced chicken basil were perfect. Friends had fish and they looked divine. 2nd there and if we Iived here we would be back all the time

I stopped by this past Sunday , since I was craving Thai and wanted to try a new spot. Tucked away from the 71 St causeway and next to a municipal parking lot, Sawaddee seemed like a cool hidden gem for Thai cuisine. My final analysis: it's a cool neighborhood spot and if you're not in a hurry. I stuck to my usual dishes and have no complaints on the flavor. After getting my server's attention in a relatively empty restaurant, I started off with their steamed pork gyoza. The noodle's texture was just perfectly chewy, the greens fresh and the sauce delish. As it were, I ordered an extra sauce for my fried rice. While tasty, I was told I could get only a vegetable fried rice and not a chicken one. Their volcano chicken was my main dish, with kudos to the chef on the sauce as it was perfectly spicy! It was served on a bed of steamed vegetables and the sauce on the side. The tempura ice cream was yummy as well. Again, the food was pretty good. My only complaint was really on the time between dishes and getting attention.

Sawaddee is a small Thai restaurant in Normandy Village. Parking is available in the paid lot behind the building (it's free in the evening hours) and a few spots on the street. No alcohol is served. You enter and your nostrils are filled with the tangy aroma of fish sauce & various other savory scents-always a good sign. Like most FL Thai places, they have both Thai and sushi. Pre-Covid Sawaddee had a really good lunch menu at affordable prices. I haven't been here for lunch since the pandemic, so I don't know what it's like now, but will update my review when I do. I recently went for dinner. The entrees on their dinner menu are a bit pricey. However, we found some affordable apps to try as a meal-fried tofu, papaya salad, and Tom kha kai soup. I will be back soon for the papaya salad and soup. Get the papaya salad medium and the soup mild. The salad has a delicious, spicy kick and the soup cools down your taste buds with tasty flavors of coconut milk, fresh veggies, and chicken. I went on a night when the small dining room was almost full and there was an endless string of takeout orders. There was one person taking orders, working the register, taking orders, and running food....and service did not suffer!

Reviewed this place and gave 5 stars as I was so happy with the food. Tom ka soup still amazing but caution when ordering plates later, anything past 8:00 PM. The remainder of the dishes I ordered tasted burnt, like the pots and pans were not washed between cooking. Really loved this place but will not be ordering again, I loved the flavor of their food but not when it tastes like pans.

We came here for a celebratory dinner. They were pretty busy between in person orders and then orders that were coming in for pick up or delivery. Masks are required. Staff was friendly. Think i only saw one girl working the front register and taking all the orders. She was really hustling around. She was very helpful though in helping me find something that would be gluten free and vegan. They had a very LARGE menu. They would like folks to have the option of scanning the QR code. However none of our phones do that so thankfully they had a hard copy menu that they were able to bring us. Their food was very very tasty and good! Portion sizes were good. We all left very full. Even my teens were stuffed. There is a little lot for parking right next to their location and thankfully parking there was actually affordable. I paid 35 cents for 90 minutes. Way more reasonable than most of the other parking i paid for while in miami.

Enjoyed Sawaddee for take out and it had everything you look for in a solid Thai food haul. The portions are really ample and the food super tasty. We ordered Shrimp Pad Thai, Massaman Curry, something with beef that I can't remember, papaya salad and wakame salad too. There were most definitely leftovers and everything was solid. While we didn't order, the menu also has a variety of sushi available. Always a good option when one person can't decide if they want Thai or sushi (which tbh I always want sushi). Would most definitely order again. Annd as an added plus you can order delivery and takeout via the Yelp app. Well done, Sawaddee. Well done.

the noodles are nothing specials, this thai spot has GREAT curry though. i recommend the panang curry. the staff is also extremely wonderful

Sawaddee is on my list of regular restaurants to go to in the Miami Beach area. It's located probably a mile west of Collins and 69th Street in a small strip mall, and we've been going to Sawaddee for 3-4 years now. The restaurant is really small, with about 15 tables or so, and is really cozy and relaxing. They also allow BYOB with no corkage fee which is a major plus! - we always bring a bottle of wine :) One time we brought white wine and they offered a bucket of ice for an additional $5 charge, and we declined, so now we typically just bring red wine. The restaurant also has an expansive non-alcoholic beverage selection. For food, we always order the Coconut Shrimp ($7.95) - and it is absolutely amazing, very flavorful with very large shrimp. We also order the steamed pork Gyoza ($6.95) - and they are also very good as well. For entrees, we typically mix it up - most recently I ordered the Macaroni Pad Thai with chicken ($15.95) - this is my favorite, but most times we go they are out of it. They have the small elbow macaroni noodles in the dish, and is a great new way to enjoy Pad Thai! If they have it when you go, you have to try it! My partner ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken $14.95, and loved it as well. Each dish we usually order is usually a large portion, and everything is very fresh. Service is always very friendly and very efficient, and it's always a great experience. If you're in the mood for good Thai food and are in the area, give them a shot!

Loved it...went on date got papaya salad, 3 sushi rolls plus chicken. Out of this world scrumptious. Busy which is good sign. Food, service, etc just perfect. Slightly tough to find but worth the hunt. Dragon rolls = terrificTERRIFIC! Server funny plus on the ball. Terrific find in unexpected spot. Look for purple neon plus lot behind building. Try this spot, best in loooooooooong time for me.

Thai food is terrible. new to Miami and this is my local Thai. ordered green curry for delivery. the curry was nothing but boiled chicken and veg with hot red chilies. they seem to have left out the coconut milk and all other spices. wasn't edible. waste of the overpriced cost of $25 for the dish plus delivery fees and tip.

I always see this place on my Yelp search since I'm local to the area, and not gonna lie I always skip past it because the first photo is of a take out box and it makes the place feel like a cheap Chinese take out. BUT, I went for the first time today with my parents and it was delicious !!! The place is nice and smells clean. i had the cashew nut chicken, it was so good and savory, the red dragon roll and Tom Kha Kai was also delicious. Feels very authentic Thai food, good quality and portions. So many options on the menu! I can't wait to come back and try more. Also, i would suggest to invest in some professional photos as your main photo on Yelp so users are more intrigued to look. Just personal opinion :)

I've been here a few times since initial review. Staff is always nice, and the food is delicious and consistent. They have a really nice variety and the spices are perfect. This is my go-to Thai spot in Miami Beach! Many great memories here

This is our family go-to dinner when we have no idea what we want. It's always such a great time food and service wise.

Went to Sawaddee for dinner on Friday night, which also happened to be Valentine's Day. I was not impressed with the food and I was confused by the service. Quality: Sawaddee is the first Thai restaurant I have ever seen Macaroni Pad Thai advertised. However, when I requested it, my waitress bluntly advised I should stick with the original, as this version was not good. I was not much better off with the Chicken Pad Thai. Super sweet and extremely bland. No heat, which after I saw the bill, I certainly would not have requested it mild. Simply a dish that should be better at a Thai restaurant. With an extensive Japanese side of the menu I also ordered a Hot JB Roll, which was also not very good. The warm nature of the roll, made it feel too much like fish that sat out too long. Quantity: I didn't need two dishes, and ended up leaving a bit of each behind. Value: $16 for the Chicken Pad Thai. $11 for the Hot JB Roll. Ambiance: Sawaddee is located on Normandy Isles in North Beach. The location is a little hidden as the entrance is not on the main stretch of road. The restaurant itself is split in two dining areas. The first room is a bit more packed with a sushi bar in the corner. I sat in the second room, which is a quieter and better equipped for large parties. The walls had assorted Asian decor and in the background 90s pop music played. Crowd: Busy, but not packed on Valentine's Day. Mostly couples enjoying dinner together. Service: A little too much honesty from the staff. My waitress pushed me away from two items on the menu, saying that they weren't good. If that is the case, take them off the menu. Parking: Private parking lot behind the restaurant as well as street parking in the area.

My wife and I absolutely loveeeee this place. We've been several times already since moving to the area a little over a year ago and they are always on point. The vibe is super laid back, but at the same time nice enough for a romantic little date night. The food is exploding with delicious flavors and spices that only legit Thai dishes can deliver. The fresh rolls and the king of the sea soup are our favorite go-to appetizers. As for entrees, their sushi rolls are fresh and tasty and their traditional Thai dishes are nothing short of amazing. The owners and staff are all super friendly and charge a very fair price given the quality of food you receive. Another very cool aspect is the fact that you can BYOB! What?! Oh yea! Enjoy visiting this magical little Thai treasure!

Hands down my favorite Thai restaurant. I live outside the county about 45 minutes away however I don't mind the drive. Its a small place but it's packed with flavor. I've been coming here since before it expanded and its still so good! My favorite dish is the shrimp pawoosen, always finishing with the fried banana.

Anything and everything you order from this amazing restaurant will make you happy and I mean EVERYTHING! The Tom kah pla soup is by far the BEST I've ever had. If you like coconut milf soup and you like fish you will be SO in awe of this soup. The Pad Woon Sen is insanely delicious The green or red currys are unlike any other currys you'll ever eat. There should be more places like this one and to add to it's all around amazing-ness you can bring your own wine or beers

Came to this place spur of the moment and don't have much experience with Thai food but WOW. This food was AMAZING!! I got the gyoza, coconut shrimp, sawaddee rice and two rolls. Everything gave me a wow reaction and service was so good. New fav Asian food spot

Thai food is hard to get wrong but somehow this place managed to do just that. The food was incredibly salty, so much so we could barely eat it. The Tom Young soup was salty, with lots of added sugar plus they added tomatoes added, something I've never experienced with this soup. The restaurant itself needs an update and a good cleaning. For $55 this was a sad waste of money.

This place is really really good. It definitely is a hidden gem in the north shore/ bay village area. I've dined in twice here and it never disappoints. From their sushi to curry, they have something for everyone. We went with three dishes this time around. The green curry, massaman curry, and a more savory dish the basil beef. All so good. I was surprised they weren't that spicy this time around but easily resolved, just ask for some spice. They give you powder and sauce. Since they don't have a liquor license, they allow you to bring in your own bottles of wine without a corkage fee! Smart move. We stayed more and ordered more. Tempura cheesecake was so good. I highly recommend!!!

Finally found my go-to Thai place in the neighborhood I don't think they accept reservations (perhaps for bigger groups), but we were just fine for 2 people on a Saturday night. This place doesn't serve alcohol, but it's BYOB with no corkage fee. We wanted some Pinot noir to pair with the Thai spices, so we grabbed a bottle from the liquor store down the street. The service is great and very welcoming and knowledgeable on all of their dishes. What we ordered: 1. Tom Yum Kong soup - SO good. I love lemongrass so the sweet and spicy in this soup was just perfect. Very flavorful. 2. Spicy Basil Duck - an absolute must. crispy and delicious. comes with a side of white rice. 3. Kaow Pad Poo - pairs really well with the duck. The portions are huge, so we had plenty of leftovers to take home after ordering those three dishes. I will definitely be back here!

Less than a block away from the 79 St Causeway in an unassuming location is this gem. We have been to Thailand and I cook some dishes at home too but this place is A1 when it comes to flavor. Small place with big flavors Had the red curry chicken spicy fire and I loved it, Wife had Pad thai noodles and we took our own Malbec, yeah they let you bring your own.

I don't know why I haven't reviewed this place before?!!! This is a must come when we're in Miami! They never disappoint! Their basil duck is delicious but we didn't try it this time. We didn't have any appetizers but for the beef salad Thai style. It was very different and delicious! Lots of beef with onions, cucumber, tomatoes and lettuce. It is cold too, hence salad. Asked for it hot as the spicelevel but it wasn't very hot. Also got the crispy red snapper curry. Oh my! This was so good!!! And they got the spice right with this! It went very well with the grapes and pineapple in the curry!! Mind you, it did have veggies in it too, not just fruit. Then to finish we had the Thai donuts. I dream about these sometimes. Sigh.....so good!!! They were bigger than I remember and still so so delicious!! I've missed this place!

Yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes!!! Sawaddee is by far my favorite Thai food in the area. I have ordered delivery from Sawaddee multiple times but had the pleasure of enjoying the eclectic interior design during a dine-in experience with my fine-dining chef friend from Vail, Colorado last week. Our server was very knowledgeable and took very good care of us. I wish I remember her name. She's super cute with beautiful eyes, mid-20s... Anyway, aside from the funky décor, Sawaddee offers some of the most authentic Thai food I have had the pleasure of indulging in outside of Thailand. Having spent a month in Thailand, standards for my favorite cuisine are pretty high. Sawaddee has the highest quality ingredients and I never have to throw out pieces of chewy/fatty meat or soggy vegetables. The best part about Sawaddee is their spice level. They are not joking when you ask for "Thai hot". With warning of course, my friend and I rode on a roller coaster of intense heat. Our mouths were still burning an hour later. My friend travels the world living for food and he agrees that Sawaddee is one of the best in Thai food. What we ordered: steamed gyoza, sumai Thai style dumplings, futomaki roll, papaya salad (Thai hot), panang curry (Thai hot) Note: Sawaddee does not serve any alcoholic beverages but they will open it and serve it to you if you bring your own. There is a liquor store around the corner.

The spice gods heard my wishes. After moving from New York, I feel that Miami is seriously lacking in the asian cuisine. After trying many different places, and even trying to become a regular only to be told that things are sold out or lack in consistency we finally bit the bullet and paid the ridiculous fee for postmates to deliver from here and we were not disappointed. We ordered the Red curry with chicken, Chicken with basil, Pad See maw with tofu. The portions were huge, we have left overs we can eat for another two days. The shrimp/pork shumai was so delicious and filled with a lot of meat, and salted perfectly. The red curry was delicious and authentic, with tons of white meat chicken. The Drunken noodles were excellent The food was SOOOOOOOOOOOO HOT! This was the first time since we moved to miami, that we actually had to wipe our faces, and gulped down my thai ice tea and my hubby even got himself a glass of milk. It was so spicy we didn't even eat as much as we normally do, but it was MUCH NEEDED since we had missed spice for months! Will definitely order here regularly, but next time will say Thai Medium Hot. YAY.

This is a great little Thai spot that I love to hit up when I'm working in the North Miami Beach area by Harding and Surfside areas. It's not on 71st technically but it's around the corner. The street parking can be difficult but there is a paid city lot behind the building which is very convenient! I've eaten here 5 or 6 times now, and it's been about 4-5 months it seems. Since my last visit, there is a sushi chef here now, and there are also sushi specials for lunch. So, let's see, one of the better Thai places with dirt cheap lunch specials now has sushi and sashimi?!? BONUS! Two of my fav cuisines now available in combo lunch specials. Today I opted for a combo sushi/sashimi with a curry dish, of which I could choose from beef, pork, chicken, tofu, or shrimp for $2 more. I opted for a green chicken curry, a Thai tradition. Choose from a salad or miso soup (included). The green curry came first and was delicious, with a good amount of chicken for a lunch special and a bowl of rice. The veggies in the curry were plentiful and fresh! The sushi/sashimi was great, consisting of a Cali roll, a tuna/salmon/whitefish (3) nigiri, and 6 pieces of sashimi. This is a great combo consisting of a good quantity of food for the price!! My only complaint was one sashimi salmon piece was mostly frozen.. Better that than warm and stinky! (Am I right??) ;) Looking forward to coming back very soon!!

Edible but not good. Chicken Pad Thai was cloyingly sweet, almost like candy. The chicken was dry and bland, and the tiny sprinkle of peanuts was not enough to add any flavor or texture. Tom kha soup was also way too sweet. Chicken red curry was bland and flavorless despite being ordered medium spicy. Papaya salad totally lacked flavor, needed more fish sauce and lime juice. Very disappointing, will not be ordering from them again.

Staff is amazing, the steam dumplings and chicken Thai basil are honestly the best in Miami!

Worst tempura vegetable and shrimp I never had.. HEAVY breading on small shrimp..terrible. Quality of Thai dishes has gone down and prices are exorbitant...not a good Value. I will but elsewhere next time.

Sawaddee is by far one of the BEST Thai restaurants in the Miami Beach area. The local cosy environment is super chill and has unbeatable prices. The food is amazing and he service too. I've NEVER had a bad experience. Best dish is their Pad Thai hands down and you can't go wrong with their curry!! They don't have a liquor license so you can bring your own drinks, only $3 for an ice bucket. They also have great lunch specials. Thank god I don't work near them or else I'd be ordering every day!
