Portland Southwestern Restaurant High Noon Will Reopen in Goose Hollow - Eater Portland

"When High Noon opened downtown in 2015, it became known as a reliable late-night watering hole for margaritas, palomas, and other tequila- and mezcal-based cocktails. Diners dug into crowd-favorite Southwestern dishes like nachos and smothered tater tots in the casual lounge-like space, which had vintage-y roadside vibes, complete with walls plastered with posters from old Westerns. Half a decade after closing, the restaurant is making its comeback — with a glow-up. In a whopping 4,951-square-foot space inside the luxury Sawbuck apartment building in Goose Hollow, the new and improved High Noon, set to open in the winter of 2022, will sport an herb-packed living wall and floor-to-ceiling windows, encompassed by a neutral palette inspired by the desert. Upstairs, a spiral staircase leads to an intimate mezzanine bar made from cross-laminated timber, a nod to a saloon. To complement its shiny new digs, the new High Noon plans to offer exclusive amenities to tenants, like tasting events and first dibs on reservations." - Janey Wong

Pros: Nice amenities, super convenient location, and good neighbors. Cons: The parking garage fee is a little high for the area and the parking matrix in it breaks down at least once a week. We were frustrated with paying $250/month to not have guaranteed access to our car whenever we needed it. Often residents' pets pooped and peed in the elevator or stairwell and did not clean it up. The stains never seemed to get properly treated.

Fabulous building, extremely nice and attentive employees, great area! I lived here about three years and had an amazing experience. Also want to give a special shout out to the maintenance team, who are extremely prompt and and helpful!

Nice building, but if it's during the school year, the Lincoln traffic is absolute chaos. Obviously events at the stadium cause traffic problems as well. The HVAC system and heat for common areas drain (and dehydrate) you. Good news is I never had to turn the heat on in the apartment. If you have a car, DO NOT RENT HERE. The parking machine breaks constantly and is cramped. I feel the management dropped off significantly after the ladies left the property. Mike (the maintenance guy) is great. Trying to extend the lease or switch units was not a pleasurable experience... plan on leaving at the end if you choose this property. They offered my apartment for almost $200 less per month with 6 weeks of free rent to a new resident (after I moved out), but wouldn't budge on any terms to keep the current resident.

Moved into my new apartment just over a month ago and I'm loving it. This is a beautiful building, the rooftop deck is really cool and looks directly into Providence Park, and my apartment is really nice. The car stacker took some getting used to but it's worth it to immediately have a garage spot (where it's almost impossible for it to be more secure). The staff are super nice and helpful. My gym is across the street so I've only used the fitness room once, but it's really nice and has a decent amount of cardio and weights (and they supply towels). I'd definitely recommend this building.

Don’t apply here unless you want to waste your time! I applied to a specific unit a couple weeks back and was assured the unit was available. I paid the application fee then a week later was told the unit was never actually available in the first place. I even called after my application to verify the availability. The leasing office here is a joke.

Very nice building in a quiet neighborhood with great amenities. I liked the location as well, right next to Providence Park (which even facing the building if I had my windows closed I could barely hear the commotion when they had events), also a block away from a TriMet station that takes you to the airport. Overall I enjoyed my time here but a couple recurring issues led me to look elsewhere. First, the parking garage situation - the machine breaks down constantly (one of the 3 go down at least once a week), which can add 30 mins to sometimes a couple hours before you can access your car again. Each year they did a big day of proactive maintenance during which the garage was inaccessible for basically the entire business day that was supposed to fix things, but it would go back to breaking down in a month or so. For how much we were paying for parking, that was frustrating to say the least. Second was more minor but I noticed staff got harder and harder to reach with time. When I first moved in, there was someone always in the front office/reception area from that was accessible if you had issues/questions. Towards the end of my stay, I found it harder to get a hold of anyone the same day I had an issue, as there was rarely a time when someone was available in the office/reception area, and calls to the office went to a call center and I'd have to wait for a response. Overall was still a nice place to live - it was always clean in common areas and they were good at keeping the building safe.

I have been living here for almost 9 months and I have loved it so far! The staff and maintenance team are friendly, responsive and always ready to help! The building itself is beautiful, the co-working and lounge spaces are beautifully furnished and set up. They constantly clean and up keep these spaces to be ready to go for anyone to utilize. The community is also very friendly and safe.

Just had the best experience at Sawbuck apartments! Jordan was the leasing professional that helped throughout the whole process. She was thoughtful and very considerate. I came in with very specific requirements and the team was able to fulfill all of them. Jordan was very thorough and showed me multiple apartment options within my price range. The apartments have top of the line appliances and is in a great location. Pet friendly and has plenty of parking, which is hard to find in Portland. The main selling point for me was the customer service I was provided from begging to end. This company is lucky to have Jordan working for them.

Yelp
I had an amazing experience with Sawbuck from the time I scheduled my tour to the actual day I moved in. Hailey, Kate, Cooper were absolutely incredible. I picked one of the more unique 1-bedroom floor plans and Hailey showed me how it looked furnished and I am very happy with the choice. Sawbuck lobby always feels like a hotel and when you come to your room it feels like home. Best of two worlds.

Yelp
Kate is VERY rude to tenants and staff alike. How did someone with such lack of empathy and i professionalism become a manage!? Her customer service skills are beyond terrible! I've been in search of a new apartment home for my family and I and upon first meet the staff I was well pleased with their cus service skills: very welcoming, kind and informative. Then I saw Kate interact with them and was immediately disgusted. Down talking staff members and being disrespectful is unexceptionable, especially in front of potential tenants. Something needs to be done when it comes to her because she is running off potential residents. I even spoke with a current tenant who said that she is always rude and unprofessional. With the right manager, this place would be flawless. On a positive note the other staff members: Hailey and Cooper are wonderful, helpful and polit. They saved Sawbuck from a one start review.
