Absolute best little hidden gem sushi restaurant in town! You wouldn't know it driving by, but the love and dedication Chef Tim and his lovely wife put into Sayuri Sushi, shines through with every bite! In house recipe sauces, perfectly cooked rice, and fish so fresh you're swear it was just caught... This place is a diamond in a sea of rhinestones... And the service is top notch too! They are so friendly and welcoming, you feel like part of the family! Absolutely will be visiting again!

Just moved to Roger's Park area and needed to find a local sushi spot. Found it! The sushi (We had the Philly and Cheesy Eel) was amazing. The service and atmosphere was excellent. The owner was super friendly! We'll be back regularly.

100% recommended the sushi taste amazing and you can feel the freshness of every single plate. Tim is the kindest person in the world. He and his wife take care of their business with a big smile in the face. They deserve the best. Definitely my favorite sushi place.

I was looking to try someplace different for delivery and came across Sayuri. What a treat! The fish was very fresh (some of the best I have had in Chicago) and the rolls were prepared very well! I enjoyed maguro and escolar nigiri, as well as the spicy tuna, Boston, and Mexican rolls. Delivery was quick and everything was nicely packaged. Highly recommend!

I'm very happy to say that this place is amazing, and I wish I had found it sooner into my trip, I only ordered delivery, but WOW, it was fantastic. The order was packaged well and with care, which let me know that they do go the extra mile for their customers. Sushi is hard to get right, but it's even harder to get right if it's a delivery order, but it was still so very delicious. I highly recommend the Angel Wrap, but really you cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. I was also shocked to see how reasonable their prices were, even with the delivery fees, I spent WAY less than I budgeted, which was perfect because I could sample a lot of their menu without breaking the bank. The fish quality was everything good sushi, sashimi and nigiri is supposed to be. Incredible flavors, melts perfectly in your mouth, and is incredibly fresh with a beautiful presentation, what's not more to love? I cannot wait for my next visit to Chicago, this is definitely my new go-to spot.

At over 100 reviews of perfection, I had to check the place out. Located just west of Loyola campus in Rogers Park, this tiny place was exceptional! Just scanning the menu, nothing stood out as being special but once chicken wings and salmon carpaccio arrived, it was quite clear they were well presented and incredibly flavorful. Strongly recommended.

I am so glad i found this gem in Chicago which serves amazing asian cuisine I was in the loop and was surrounded by many top notch asian restaurants. However fate had it that i was meant to have dinner here tonight. It was around 8 pm and i was in the loop. I was too tired to walk and get onto the metro ( subway) . Lo infront of me a bus appears and it was headed to Devon street ( little india ) Since Devon was anyway on my bucket list for my trip,i hopped onto this bus which almost took an hour to reach. On google maps i saw this place called mura mura ramen in devon and its high ratings and reviews so i got off the bus there and crossed the road. Alas ! The place was shut and i hadn't bothered to check the timings on google . So again back at the bus stop i got onto the next bus. It stopped a few stops ahead and the driver said that it was the last stop. Alas ! Again i had fumbled by boarding the wrong bus as all tourists who don't have a proper mobile network do. As i was contemplating what i was doing in a neighborhood so far away from my hotel ( Addison) i saw this place opp called sayuri . The sign said it was open. It was already 10 pm and my heart was pounding whether it was open or not My joy knew no bounds when i saw a family seated eating near the window. I entered the place hesitantly and asked if it was open. The owner and his wife with the warmest smiles said it was open ! Ah my fate ! My luck ! But my happiness only lasted precisely 6 minutes since i had decided to order a piping hot soup of ramen and the lady said they didn't have ramen today So half heartedly i ordered shrimp tempura and some sushi Boy o boy. The best of the best. The taste was faaantabulous. The shrimp was so succulent and crisp and the condiment sauce was outstanding. Same with the sushi The couple who run this place deserve accolades for their amazing food, warm service and just homely vibe Will surely visit this place everytime i come to Chicago

Sushi Paradise! Sayuri Sushi bar is an absolute gem! The sushi selection is top-notch, with fresh ingredients and creative rolls that impress both visually and taste-wise. The service is impeccable, and the ambiance sets the perfect tone for a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend for any sushi lover!

We stopped into Saudi to place a takeout order. Nice clean restaurant and friendly staff. Staff explained the order would be done in 15 minutes. I overhead the chef greet a guest saying it's been a little since he's seen him. Came back 15 minutes later to find my order not ready for the next 10 minutes. Not the end of the world just unfortunate to see the "regular/returning" guest already eating a roll of sushi that I watched the chef prep before my order was even close to being done. Overall great food and will come again, just unfortunate to not have a first come first serve priority. Edit: had to change my review from 4 to 5 just based on being the best sushi I've personally had. Just hope they take note to my review!

Delicious sushi and poke bowls. Chef Tim goes above and beyond to prepare fresh, delicious food and provide the kindest service. Also, if they are busy and you have to wait, it's 100 percent worth the wait.

All i have to say is WOW.. I've been to many sushi bars, but nothing compares to the quality and freshness of the ingredients used here to prep your food. The speciality rolls are big and filling. Everything came out cooked to order which made the food hot, fresh, and tasty. Spicy mayo was perfectly crafted to enjoy your sushi with. The service was A+. They make sure you have everything at your need and constantly check up on you. If you are in the area and crave sushi I HIGHLY recommend this spot!

We are so glad to have (finally) tried this sushi restaurant right in our neighborhood! We made the walk from our place to this restaurant for dinner after seeing such rave reviews here on Yelp. Thank goodness for Yelp by the way -- I'm not sure we would have noticed the place had it not been for their reviews on here! There is a neon pink sign at the front, but not as easily noticeable if you're driving by. By foot though, it was easy to spot. Sayuri absolutely lived up to the praise others have shared. The space is on the smaller side (maybe call ahead if you plan on a party of larger than 5?) but is quaint and intimate. Service was wonderful as well. Upon entering, the host and the sushi chef greeted us and you truly felt like they were welcoming you into their home and they were glad to see you. Great hospitality. The food was so beautifully prepared and everything tasted fresh and clean. We started with the seaweed salad (was also hoping to try the crab salad but they were out that night) which always a nice palate starter - fresh flavor with just enough acid. For our mains, we chose the salmon poke, tamago nigiro, sweet potato roll, and unagi avo roll. All of our dishes were beautifully presented, prepared fresh, and full of flavor. We will absolutely be back soon.

This is a hidden gem. Wonderful service, fresh and quality fish and unpretentious. The chef takes pride in his craft and it shows in the wonderful flavors and meticulous presentation. The service is top notch - they make sure everything is just right and that you have everything you need. We loved everything we tried and can't wait to go back. This is now our favorite sushi spot!

Really very, very good food. Staff is quite friendly & willing to please. Nice to see a neighborhood place that greets you when you walk in, & is genuinely happy that you came in. The menu is huge. Lots of choices on the menu. We will definitely go back. Very pleased.

I went to have dinner with my boyfriend, and the food was fantastic! They suggested we try the Ocean Ceviche, and it was delicious, especially for spicy food lovers! The service from Tim and Sonia was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely be returning!

An excellent, affordable sushi spot with supremely kind staff! My partner and I decided to try this place out on a whim and I wish we'd come here sooner! The restaurant is pretty small and comfortable. When we arrived there was just one waitress and one chef, both of whom were lovely to talk to. The food was SOOOOOO good! We tried the rolls, the nigiri and the sashimi and loved every single thing! I will definitely be coming back :)

Given the rave reviews Sayuri Sushi Bar has received, and given that I eat enough sashimi to register as an Oceanic-American? Sayuri shot to the top of my must-try-ASAP restaurant list. I ordered delivery tonight because I was short on time, but I'm looking forward to dining with them in-person. My selections were the Sashimi Queen, Sunset Beach Maki (wrapped in cucumber instead of rice), and Salmon Carpaccio. With a sprightly side salad. I immediately tried the Carpaccio, as I was curious how its truffle oil melded with the salmon. It was a fantastic combination of earthiness and salinity. All of the fish I ordered was incredibly fresh and high-quality - and I'm impressed with the creative liberty Sayuri takes with their dishes, in preparation and presentation (even - perhaps especially - via delivery). Additionally, when I called to confirm that they accepted delivery orders, the woman I spoke with was so gracious and kind. Suffice to say, Sayuri is definitely one of my favorite new local finds. Itadakimasu!

Didn't take photos because the stomach could not wait! The reviews do this place justice, 5-star hands down experience, presentation, environment, and taste! The location is down the block from me and I will now be here all the time! We had the: Ocean Ceviche- I think that was the best ceviche I have ever had, had a kick of spice in the sauce but was well balanced with fresh fish! The Godzilla roll and the Crunchy Salmon roll-were the best versions of these rolls I've ever had. Somehow these rolls were incredible! I don't know what else to say other than amazing sushi! Nigiri of Smoked Salmon- we ended up getting this twice because the salmon was smoked to perfection, tasted fresh, was perfectly delectable. Could've only had this and my review would've been 5 stars all around. I can't wait for my sushi craving in a week to be back! Truly my official hidden gem of Edgewater, and I hope more people find this place because it deserves all the love!

Absolutely amazing sushi. I did a pick up order but I have been frequenting the bar and it is so delicious. The man who makes the rolls is sooooo sweet and kind, and genuinely cares about your food and experience. Honestly 10/10 place. I had the raw fish rolls but I didn't grab a picture

GO HERE!!!!! WAS SO GOOD went on a Sunday night with my partner to celebrate my Bday. we came in and ordered 2 miso soups, gyoza, cucumber roll, 2 orders of salmon nigiri, 1 order of mackerel nigiri, a dragon roll, a crunchy tuna roll, and the magma lava. OMG IT WAS SO GOOD! the miso soup and gyoza came out quickly and were great. all of the sushi was fantastic. the freshest salmon I have ever had in my life. everything was delicious. the owner and his wife were very very attentive and kind. The whole restaurant is ran by a man and wife from Thailand named Tim and Sonya. they were exceptionally nice and very attentive. the restaurant is small, I recomend sitting at the sushi bar so you can talk to Tim. they have been open for under a year, and should defienitily have more customers!!!!!

It's a cute spot! 2 tables and a few seats at the sushi bar. Our server sat us and gave us plenty of time to catch up and order, which was appreciated. The rolls were stellar, particularly the negi hamachi! Gyoza were perfectly fried. I'll for sure be back!

My fave sushi place in the city! The sushi is so fresh and well crafted. I love the salmon here and the spicy miso is delicious! Tim, the owner and chef, is so welcoming and puts so much love into what he does. The service is just wonderful. It's BYOB and my partner and I always love to bring a nice bottle of sake. I cannot recommend Sayuri enough!

I have lived in Chicago for a while and struggled to find a sushi restaurant that felt like I was being given both great taste, and freshness. I had let go of my search for a while, and then saw Sayuri had opened near me. The first time I ordered I was pleasantly surprised how the flavors and textures of each roll came together. Its been 5 visits since and the quality just gets better each time I go. The couple working at Sayuri are working very hard to bring great tasting sushi, ramen, poke, Sashimi and more! 10 stars if I could rate higher on Yelp!

Tried Sayuri last night and it is an absolute gem. The family who owns it is incredibly kind, the chef has over a decade of experience and it's apparent (he said he even makes the sauces from scratch, his own recipe). Getting a table was easy and every roll was fresh and delicious. Will absolutely be back.

Nice cozy family run sushi bar with friendly owners. Everything we had was great but the Tsunami Maki was exceptional.

Wow!!! I can't tell you how impressed I am! The food was absolutely amazing, and the presentation was so beautiful! By far the best food delivery I've ever received! We shared some basic sushi staples; tekka don, seared tuna, spider maki, and all were absolutely amazing! The quality was absolutely pristine! I'm glad to spend a little more for premium quality. It really was delicious.

Visited this restaurant by accident this evening- Apparently, they just moved into the space previously occupied by Hello Sushi. Yes, thought I was walking into a renovation by Hello Sushi. Figured, since I'm here, why not give them a try. First and foremost, the owner and the young lady completing orders, were absolutely friendly. They introduced themselves, made suggestions, and asked my opinion on other topics (signs of a restaurant that is community driven). I must admit, they treated me like a friend- Although there was a slight miscommunication in my order, simply because we talked about trying so many different things....-- but, what I did receive was really delicious and well prepared (Smoked Salmon, and Eel). Also, the Vegetable Egg Roll was very light and tasted as if made to order. Will definitely try again.

I just had the most beautiful take out sushi dinner (sayuri combo b). The nigiri was so fresh and tender. Will definitely try more items on menu in the future!

The Freshest Sushi EVER! The slices of fish were clean cut & no excess fat on any fish! I've tried a handful of sushi places and this one is one of the best compared to the bigger sushi spots. The place is owned by a wife and husband. Husband has been making sushi for 15+ years and he just opened this place not long ago. Miso soup was Delicious, sushi was generous and big portions. They're open till midnight or so and I HIGHLY recommend this spot coming back again!

We have stopped by here on a Friday night when everyone else was closed already. It's a small place, but it's clean and inviting. We ate dinner past 10pm, and the owner made everything so fresh, delicious, lots of flavor, and beautiful. The service was great even late in the evening. The owners (husband and wife) were friendly, and easy to talk to. We loved everything we ordered and recently ordered dinner to go, and it was just as good and tasted fresh. Highly recommended for everyone to go to this place.

Tim and Sonya have created a very special sushi experience! I'm so thankful that a dear friend recommended them highly and wanted to go back for her birthday. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is excellent, and the sushi is some of the best I've ever had! I would highly recommend Sayuri and I know they will serve Andersonville well.

Really good food and super kind people! My favorite dish was the shrimp tempura, super delicious. The chef spoke to everyone in the restaurant and had a smile on his face. The waitresses were very kind and helpful. I enjoyed my experience and would definitely recommend!!
