How to Watch ‘Support the Girls,’ a Great Comedy Starring Regina Hall | Eater

"Led by chef-owner Rulis Gonzalez, the episode celebrates El Paso’s carnitas tradition, emphasizing braised pork cooked outdoors in a giant cauldron called an acazo. After stops at casual taquerias, Gonzalez prepares a large, festive batch of carnitas in his backyard in a sequence that feels communal and celebratory, while hosts reflect on the deep cross-border ties with Juárez and how everyday connections persist despite political talk of walls." - Greg Morabito

Chef Rulis González’s longtime “gourmet dive” riffs across cultures—think Pasta Chihuahua, brisket flautas, and craft beer. As seen on Diners, Drive‑Ins and Dives, it’s creative, community‑minded, and proudly El Paso.

Sazon has a really chill vibe , it was really nice! The food was good we ordered the brisket flautitas as an appetizer and they were delicious, it came with a nice little salad and salsa also really enjoyed those two. As mains we got a margherita pizza and the teriyaki pizza . Both were great the only thing I wish was the crust was a bit softer some parts did feel crackeresque but nonetheless good pizza. We will be back to try more of the menu

Google
Honest Review is.. the food was great but the service was 6/10, from arriving and not being acknowledged to waiting 30 min at the table with no service what so ever, finally after speaking up we were able to get drinks and order our food. I wouldnt go back as customer service means alot to me.. #badservice #neveragain #Foodie #elpasotx #tryingnewplacestoeat #sazonbychefrulis

The staff at Sazón (chefs DJ and Marquis and server David) made our dining experience extraordinary.. the food was delicious, the service was spot on, and the atmosphere was delightful.. my family and I highly recommend the Mushu Carnitas, the Chipotle Shrimp, and the Korean Tacos.. pay them a visit soon.. they will not disappoint.. rock on!

Google
Been here twice and each time was fantastic. We’ve had the Nola, Spinach, and Al Pastor Pizzas. All wonderful. Only small complaint, was my daughter ordered the Al Pastor with no cilantro and it came with it on the pizza. The three tacos Al Pastor were really good and flavorful. We tried the prosciutto with pear and glaze and it was awesome! Had the cheesesteak, it was okay. The bread was too much and the ratio was a little off when it came to the meat portions. We will revisit again and a good recommendation to others!

Amazing place and incredible food!!! I love the new environment and the staff is friendly and attentive!

I love all the plants throughout the restaurant. It brings a calm positive vibe during the visit. The menu has so many options and everything is delicious. The pizza and calabasitas are a must have when we go. The servers are very attentive and friendly always showing a smile.

Google
Wonderful service!!!! Let me start by saying that we had a surprise gathering there. The person who we were throwing it for showed up super early! We had a reservation so this was not sprung up on them whatsoever. The wait staff was the MVP on pulling this off after our honored guest showed up much earlier than planned. Not only did they have him go around and sit at a table facing their patio, he then proceeded to go outside to the main entrance they distracted him while a couple of our guests walked right in. That’s impeccable service right there. They were still attentive once things got underway and we said “surprise!” The great service didn’t stop the entire time we were all there. Now, the food!!! We ordered the Three P’s crostini. They changed the cheese to manchego so the third P is now an M (I asked) lol. That was light and delicious. The balsamic drizzle really ties it all together with the pears and prosciutto. I had the brisket flautas and let me say….tender, tender, tender meat. The plate itself was so pretty and I felt a little bad digging in but not that bad because the flavors were so good! Even the red salsa they gave me to dip was exactly the perfect heat to round out the flavors. My kids had the pepperoni pizza. We ordered more than one because they’re 10 in. It’s a small pizza but very flavorful and brick oven made to perfection. Many places do have larger burnt spots but not this one. The small places where there was a bit of char was just right. My kids and some of the guests even dug in because it really smelled and tasted that good! My husband had the shrimp nachos. One word, DELICIOUS! That cheese had me drooling and still has me drooling writing this review lol. So good. They do have a blue crab nacho option that I will be going back for next time. One of our guests had a vegan option (not pictured) of the sirloin toreado tacos. My gosh! I’ve never had vegan tacos before but if all vegan food tasted this way, I’d become one! Those flavors are just blew my mind! I wish I had taken a picture to show how pretty they were too, but trust when I say that it was chef’s kiss!!! Overall, Rulies’ International Kitchen was simply amazing in all they did and fed us. We will mostly definitely be back and with super empty stomachs just to eat more of that awesome menu! Highly, Highly, Highly Recommend!!!!

Google
Besides my husband loving this place, I am never truly satisfied. The tacos were pretty much plain nothing extra. The salad I would give 5 stars. The chicken and calabazas are a hit or miss sometimes their delicious and sometimes they lack flavor. I wish the owner would invest in making the restaurant a little more appealing to the eye, maybe it would catch more clients.

Yelp
My wife and went to Ruli's Express on Montwood tonight and it was OUTSTANDING, once again! Can't leave a review on their site because they don't have one. Nonetheless, if you are on the Far East side (on Montwood west of Trawood in the center between Tommy's Car Wash and Planet Fitness). As for the food, my wife had the "MUSHU CARNITAS"...very juicy, flavorful, and just the spice, and the roasted Brussels and onions and the pork were all COOKED PERFECTLY...and I had the "CHUCO CHEESESTEAK PANINI" with the Sweet Potato Waffle Fries, which had great crust, tender steak, and caramelized onions, and the waffle fries were all COOKED PERFECTLY and WELL-FLAVORED, also! The complimentary tea was a nice touch. Our server took care of us quickly, and was attentive and friendly! And the place was clean, colorful, welcoming, and cozy. Only 7 tables, since they just opened, recently and are trying to build their clientele on the east side. DEFINITELY worth the trip and/or time if you are on this side of town. I've been once, my wife twice, and we plan to go back and become regulars! The FOOD IS OUTSTANDING! Keep up the great cooking!

Yelp
Food was legit! Fusion creations - between Italian, Korean, & local Mexican cuisine. Really creative flavors. Beer selection was deep with both draft and bottle/can options. Ordered: Korean tacos, Taquitos, Pasta Chihuahua Service was excellent and attentive. Ambiance was chill and perfect for a dinner date! Coming back again!

Yelp
Overall, dining at Rulis was good. The food was fine and very casual. The service was great and ambiance was good. We had a memorable experience. One of the chefs was eating out in the restaurant while we were there and he was kind - a little talkative, but it was okay since we were not in a rush. Our experience at this restaurant was good. From the moment we arrived until we left, we felt welcomed.

Yelp
What a deliciously international experience! I have been wanting to try this place for the longest time just because of their selection of different types of food. It's a rotating menu so I was a bit let down when I didn't see the oxtail tostadas like I originally wanted. But thankfully it was too easy to find another delicious meal. Immediately, I saw lamb lollipops and i was sold! Im a sucker for lamb and it came with rice and a mango chutney. So so good!! You can order a rack of 3 or 6 and very affordable. Fun theme to the decor of the place. They decked it out with lots of plants and had sort of a island theme to it. Definitely made it a perfect and fun place for a double date night! My friends and husband ordered a customized pizza, the calabacitas with chicken, a pasta dish, sweet potato fries, and cheese curds which were all excellent. We will definitely be back again soon!

Yelp
The amount of plants here is amazing! Such a refreshing experience. We sat outside and enjoyed the EP summer heat. The staff were very friendly. There were only a handful of customers on a weekend evening. Our food came quickly. We had the edamame and a pizza. The edamame sounded interesting but the flavor was lacking. The pizza was surprisingly good. Thin crispy crust. I am vegan so I asked for build your own since all of the selections of the pizzas on the menu were meat based. We enjoyed our outing.

Yelp
Restaurant is now called Sazon by Chef Ruli. All new menu. Definitely worth a try. Will be back. More hipster friendly.

Ralph W.

Yelp
Under it's new name, Sazon by Chef Rulis, the restaurant is re-imagined with a fresh ambiance. Open, yet intimate, with a paneled divider running the length of the dining room, Sazon is not a Mexican restaurant. It is a fusion of Mexican foods with the cuisines of the world. Close friends have contributed to achieve the vision of long-time El Paso restaurateur Rulis Gonzalez. We walked into to a bright dining room, accented with green glassware. Our server was polite and unobtrusive until we asked about the pizza offerings. Then he expertly led us through the list. Our luncheon choices were delicious and the servings were generous. Make a note to visit this restaurant as a special treat for foods both familiar and seasoned from around the globe.

Yelp

Yelp
They don't let people know they are closed for repairs. Try calling them and it goes straight to voicemail

Wow!!! this place is amazing. Everything I've ever had here has been delicious.. highly recommended

Yelp
Huge disappointment. From when you first walk in you see a sign that says they charge you for credit card transactions. Raise your price, don't look like 3% makes a huge difference to you. It looks tacky. Our server was decent. I asked about the habanero oil and what exactly it was. She said it is just like it sounds. However, when it arrived, it was actually GARLIC habanero oil. It was bad. Had I known it had garlic I would not have ordered it. I was looking for something with spice. When the food came out, 3 of us got our food and the other 2 had to wait an additional 10 minutes. What is that? Some better timing is needed as this is completely unnecessary. Then when the check had an automatic gratuity added for a party of 5, that was the final decision... This was our first and last time going here.

Yelp
The pizza and pastas are delicious, however the service is very slow, for they have 2 servers. It took 45min for 2 dishes. The lightning is dark and the decoration is odd with multiple freezers. I recommend to give it a try if you are in no hurry.

Yelp
We went at 1130, no lunch crowd but maybe understaffed. Took awhile for someone to take our drink order. Then we were ready to order and ordered appetizers and she said she would be back for the actual food. Again, maybe understaffed in The kitchen. We ordered the Pesto fries- pretty good if you love cilantro. Small portion for 1 max 2. Then ordered shrimp nachos. I was expecting loads of things to be on them. Sounds fresh. Nope just regular nachos with few shrimp on there. I ordered a build my own pizza and I felt like a Hawaiian pizza, yes with pineapple! It was ok. Nothing wowed me. My brother did order the chicken w Calibacitas that looked bomb to be honest. I would go back just to try it. The pictures I took arent good ones as there was a red tint where we sat so pictures look red. Ambiance is ok. They have music and it's not a big place. The patio looked like it could be nicer if they fixed it up a bit.

Ric S.

Yelp
The food is really good but be advised the menu on their website is misleading. Only about half of what they offer is available. No steaks, hamburgers or many other items.
google avatar

Yelp
I wanted to eat at Rulis' International Kitchen since I was a graduate student at UTEP, I just never made the stop. Oh man, I wish I had done so sooner. The place had a good vibe and the abundance of plant life was refreshing. To start, I ordered the edamame en vaso, followed by the quinoa and salmon salad, and finished with the calabacitas with salmon. Everything I ordered was flavorful and fulfilling. Kudos to the chef, as the salmon was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I will definitely be back and I would recommend this place to anyone who is searching for delicious food.

Yelp
While in El Paso, I took a chance at a family meal at Rulis. The menu is not typical of what I usually have, yet it was yummy! The Potato Poblano Soup was super tasty without being too hot or spicy. Also, I loved the bread! My Ox Tail Tostadas were delicious and nothing like I've had before. Make sure to place the pickled cabbage on top. I left the chili sauce off since it was too spicy for me, yet the green sauce was good. I tasted my child's pasta, and it's similar to what I make at home - super buttery and garlicky. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and while we had to wait a bit for the check, the waitstaff was nice and accommodated our requests. The layout of the seating area is a bit odd, yet for our party of 6, we had plenty of room. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
Chef made the most delicious appetizers for my daughter's wedding! Everyone loved them and of course wanted more! I really appreciated not having to worry about the details! I highly recommend Rulis for your catering needs!

Yelp
Bomb dot com 4 thumbs way up. This place is so delicious. Nothing bad on the menu at all!

Yelp
I heard Ruli's was on Guy Fieri's places to visit when going to El Paso so I was really excited to see what great food this place would have to offer. During my visit, the restaurant was takeout only so unfortunately I wasn't able to get the full experience. Food: I got the Chihuahua Pasta as seen on Diners, Dine-Ins and Dives as well as an appetizer of the pesto fries. The pesto fries were underwhelming even though it was real pesto on the fries. They were barely warm and somehow really lacked any flavor. The Chihuahua Pasta I was super excited for but as soon as I opened it I realized it was just going to be a regular pasta dish. The noodles were cooked well and the meat was decently tasty, but it is far from being anywhere good enough to invoke a place on a tv show. I will hope to come back one day when it is completely open to update my review but 4 out of 5 stars for what seems like a restaurant that has slowly gone downhill since it's spot on tv.
google avatar

Carol R.

Yelp
Excellent food & service. Meticulous care in every dish. The menu items have been updated in an amazing way since my last visit. So addictive. I must go back!

Yelp
We visited Ruli's on a Sunday afternoon. Parking wasn't bad and it was very easy to locate. It's the big red building! When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and asked our preference of seating. I loved that there were plants all throughout the restaurant. It's definitely a casual restaurant. I had their mushroom swiss burger. It was a decent burger and a great portion for the price! Their fries were good too, but the garlic cheese curds my friend had were definitely the best choice in sides! So yummy! I think it's worth a visit for a casual lunch, especially since it was on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended to us, and I am so glad we followed his rec! I'll start with the non- food observations: the staff was very friendly, happy to offer insights if needed. Attentive, but not overbearing. They seemed to genuinely care if we were satisfied with our drinks and food. The atmosphere is a little drab in comparison to the food- it isn't bad, but just doesn't seem to match the sophistication of flavors. Although they opened the blinds in time for us to enjoy a glorious sunset. I also enjoyed watching the videos of Chef preparing different dishes. Everything we ate was perfection! You can tell that the chef here really cares about what he is creating, and yet it's not pretentious. We started with the 3 Ps Croustini, which had the perfect balance of sweet and savory. I highly recommend these. My husband ordered the Ox tail tostadas, they were fairly spicy and very tasty. Our waitress warned my husband that they were on the lighter side for an entrée, which I thought was polite (she didn't want him to leave hungry lol). I got the Chicken Calabacitas- they were heavenly perfection! I absolutely loved everything about this dish. I tend to prefer lower carb foods, and this really hit the spot!! Every bite was packed full of flavor. We finished off our meal with the decadent chocolate cake: it was a perfect balance of rich, but not too rich, light and satisfying! We are excited to come back again and try other items on the menu!

Yelp
Fun find in El Paso! I can't comment on the interior due to Covid, but when I called, the employee who answered the phone and took my takeout order was so positive and upbeat that I was immediately excited for my food! Such a small thing adds a whole lot to the experience! We ordered the Pasta Chihuahua ($16.99) and Shrimp Tacos with Waffle Fries ($13.99). The waffle fries were delicious! The shrimp tacos were everything I was hoping they would be and I am so excited to have a new go-to place for solid shrimp tacos -- a craving I have a little too often! We were really excited for the Pasta Chihuahua, since that is the DDD dish, but it really just wasn't our cup of tea. The pasta wasn't bad, it just was not to our taste -- but it's always fun to try a dish as-seen-on-TV! Overall, we had a really good experience and are excited to come back and try a few new things, and get some more shrimp tacos!

Yelp
Decided to try something new. Came and tried the ox tail tostados which are a must have if you come here. Skip the edamame hummus..I don't think it was very good and no one else at the table liked it. I got the special which was a braised rib and mashed potatoes. I also got the Bailey's Irish cream cake for desert. Absolutely amazing. I'll be back again. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is pretty laid back.

Yelp
After looking at the social media promotion of this place, I decided to take my daughter there for her birthday. When we got there you are greeted by a hostess but it is not the most warm welcome despite the fact that we had a reservation. Upon being seated we were seated next to another large group with very noisy kids. Once we needed the service to begin it was literally having to ask for straws, sugar (twice), salt, chili flakes, refills. NOT once did our waiter keep up with the service. We were a party of six we which made his type an automatic 20%. If the waiter is going to get an automatic 20% tip whether it's good service or bad, well you know what you are going to get. This is definitely one reason I will not return to this place. As a waiter you have to work for it, it is not just given because you have five or more people. The food came out and it was subpar. For being a chef, you use cheap checker paper to serve food which automatically makes the appearance sub-par. My son order a coke and they brought to him in a can. For heaven sakes poor the soda out of the can at the very least. Very, very tacky. The pizza were cold an the cheese was not even melted on the pizza. The margharita pizza had no flavor, I had to load it with the salt. We also ordered the Paella with chicken. The rice was cold and the chicken looked like Tyson Frozen Grilled Chicken from a bag. It was dry and just flavorless. The place is clean because waiters are constantly sweeping and mopping which can be unpleasant to watch the mopping while you are eating. The place is nicely decorated, however the floors give a cheap taco joint appearance. The menu is not solid. It has more appetizers than real food choice and the choices you have seem incomplete. Overall it gets 2 stars for the decor.

Yelp
Dinner date with the wifey. Stumbled across this place while searching for a place for dinner on here. Pleasantly surprised. The place had a nice atmosphere and was not too crowded. The menu pics online were outdated. Some of the items were no longer listed. The food pictures looked amazing but again not all were available. They had some specials on the board, but the wife and I wanted to see what the everyday menu items tasted like first. The restaurant was nicely lit. Not too dark and not too bright. Great for a date night out. The paintings looked like local artists. It made it feel relaxed and welcoming. The TV playing scenes of the chef cooking really caught our attention. Made us want to try everything. They do not have a full bar - beer and wine license only. It would have been nice of they did, but made the best of it. The margaritas with agave wine was very refreshing. Decided to try the shrimp appetizer, a pizza, and a pasta dish. Since it was our first time there, we wanted to sample the menu. The shrimp was AMAZING. It was the perfect blend of spicy and flavor. The Al Pastor pizza was delicious. The wood-fire oven makes a huge difference. The pasta was different. It was very good. Loved the flavor and all meat. Excellent meal all around. Would really like a full bar, but other than that it was a great date night.

Yelp
The food was DELICIOUS!!!!!! The servers were on point very attentive and so sweet! The chef was very nice and his food was amazing!! Definitely taking my mom soon! Everything was sooo good!!

Yelp
Brisket flautas, steak tacos, pesto fries for our tapas (although too heavy on the pesto), etc. Will definitely come back! Seasonal options too with local produce and ingredients.

Yelp
Rulis' is one of a kind. Especially in our neck of the woods. The food is locally sourced and dishes are unique twists on old favorites. I ordered Chicken calabacitas (squash). Fantastic. If you order pozole be warned: the portion is ginormous. My grandmother barely made a dent. Delicious though. Highly recommend Rulis'.

Yelp
They have a really great menu full of delicious choices. They have something for everyone. The beer selection is great too. It's a good choice for a date night.

Yelp
food presentation was good, food cold. service was great, friendly waitress, very attentive. i was disappointed in the atmosphere. there was a ceiling fan that was missing light fixtures and dangling from the ceiling, 2 freezers in the dining area. I was disappointed overall. it has been a while since I had eaten there and was eager to return! total disappointment!

Yelp
I've heard quite a bit about this place and how they do a fantastic job of asian fusion. Unfortunately, I was a bit let down, but the menu was definitely interesting. Ambiance - Decor was nice with plenty of seating. It was a bit dark until they put up all the windows. Service - Everyone was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. Food - Had the pork belly tacos and al pastor pizza. Pork belly tacos had an interesting flavor that was refreshing and not too heavy. The al pastor pizza didn't have much flavor but was an interesting combination that almost reminded me of a cheeseburger. Overall, interesting place with some interesting fusion choices. I was unimpressed with the food despite the uniqueness.

Yelp
MR. WORLDWIDE MEETS INTERNATIONAL KITCHEN A global minded menu that incorporates elements of different cultures is always worth seeing. We should always take the time to learn about other cultures' food and keep an open mind towards trying new cuisines. Rulis' is a beautiful place that reminds me of a cross between an island cabana and a millennial cafe with a bunch of plants on wheels giving it a lively vibe. Now, lets talk about my indulgences. The FOOD: Both featured by Guy Fieri Oxtail Tostadas: TOSTADA SUPREME Blue corn tostadas with avocado, pico de gallo, oxtail, beans, green chile salsa. Blue colored foods really captivate the eyes of the eater. With fatty, beefy oxtail with a bouncing texture and the crisp corn tostada, you get a perfect duo of textures that keep the mouth guessing. The pico de gallo, salsa, avocado, and pickled cabbage were refreshing palate cleansers that paired well with the richness of the oxtail. Each bite is like a super sized hor d'ourve that packs a punch of the south of the border. Pasta Chihuahua: CHIHUAHUA NEVER ENDS Linguini with chunky tomato sauce, hot dogs, chipotle sausage, chorizo, red pepper, queso fresco, and grilled beef steak. Imagine a meat lover's pasta taken to the next level with aromatic spices. The linguini carries the tomato sauce and meaty flavours across the tongue with a boldness like no other pasta. The chorizo, red pepper, and chipotle sausage leave a strong peppery taste in the mouth, while the queso fresco gives a mild cheesiness that works well together. Hot dogs contributed an unusually artificial meaty flavour that I am not used to, but I noticed they are used in the Juarez/Chihuahua and El Paso areas. A unique signature and everlasting memory of what the citizens are used to, but do not contribute much flavour to this already packed dish (-1 star). Overall, a rich and delicious pasta dish that leaves a stronger impression than your traditional spaghetti and meatballs. The VERDICT: BOLDNESS CROSSING LA FRONTERA TO YOUR TASTE BUDS Ruli's International Kitchen has a menu that gives so much flavour to the average taste buds. When you combine many different cultures and cuisines together, you inspire a buffet of flavours that you do not usually see. Oxtail Tostadas balance hearty beefiness with refreshing flora. Pasta Chihuahua gathers rich meats together in a tomato sauce linguini to enhance your traditional pasta experience. I will definitely be back for their everlasting menu and specials.

Yelp
There are so many options to choose from including pizza, tacos, burgers, soups and salads. They have brunch from 11 to 3 on Sundays and Saturdays. The service was great and welcoming. The restaurant has wonderful decor and makes you feel very welcomed.I had a wonderful experience, definitely recommend to try.

Yelp
So yummy! I have loved this place forever! The pizza, ranch, and the pesto pasta is so good! Every time I go, the waiter or waitress recognizes me! I love the red walls, the outdoor dining/patio, and paper table covers (so you can draw on them). If you're around, go there!

Laura C.

Yelp
Bad customer service. Tried calling number listed several times two days in a row for take out. Turns out they changed their number. Then as I walked in to do take-out order, they were turning parties away saying they were unable to accommodate them, despite there being open tables. Food was greasy and not as good as previous times . It's a shame because this used to be a family favorite.

Lisa B.

Yelp
Great food. Service was slow and had to get things ourselves. No big deal completely understand being short staffed.

Yelp
Arrived at Ruli's to have an anniversary dinner. It had been awhile since we had eaten here, but I could remember the pizza and salad were delicious. Well, they did not disappoint. I was brought to my happy place in every way. The service was prompt and so friendly. Asking for suggestions was received with a smile and a full discussion and description of the plates I ordered the Chicken and Calabacitas. Wow!! The plate of vegetables under the chicken were absolutely delicious. I could've just eaten that, but let's not forget that chicken. Moist, perfectly seasoned and with yummo crispy skin. My hubby ordered the Dino rib. Braised overnight. Tender. Delicious. And the Korean sauce drizzled on top was bright and tangy. To finish we shared the chocolate cake. Oh my! Moist, rich. Topped with pecans and a raspberry coulis. Again, my happy place!! I will be coming back soon, very soon. You should make the effort to go in. Well worth it.

Yelp
If you are in El Paso, this place should be on your list. They used to be located downtown, across the street from the San Jacinto Plaza which I miss although the parking not too much. It's still locally owned and the menu is great. Every year I frequent it for their Chiles en Nogadas. Its different and not something easily found. I love how the restaurant is surrounded by plants and local art. Ruli's is a must in my book. A local treasure.

Yelp
This place is Awesome! Being a Vegan can sometimes be a challenge! Rulis was able to customize my order to fit with my Vegan way of life! The pasta rustica was absolutely delicious, crunchy veggies and pasta tossed in a garlic paste!!! The Sweet Potato fries were a perfection of crunch!!! Menu has a great variety and reasonably priced!!! Thank you Ruli

Yelp
Pizza review time... Rulis' International Kitchen WOW. JUST WOW! Located at what was my all time favorite El Paso pizza joint, Sunset Pizza is now Rulis'. If you know anything about iconic El Paso chefs, then you know what's about to go down. Using a classic wood pizza oven I knew I was in for a treat. It's possible it's the same oven that Sunset Pizza used back in the day. I was skeptical? If I'm being 100% honest because Rulis is known for his international cuisine. I've always loved his dishes but have never ordered the pie. You eat with your eyes first, and I was already salivating at the bubbles on the crust... if I'm being real, this pie was what I was expecting yesterday with St Augustine. Chef Rulis pizza gave me hope again for El Paso pizzas. Nice fucking undercarriage. Perfect 50/50 mozz provolone cheese mix. The provolone added that perfect nutty flavor that the other pizzas I've been tasting have been missing. No sauce overload and the crust was bubbly and chewy. One bite everyone knows the rules. Ep Pizza Snob Score: 9.4 There I said it...

Yelp
Amazing chef and amazing place in Chuco town. If you want something different and tasty here's the place. Anything from tacos to steak and pasta it's something new and innovative. The place is cozy with the natural feeling with plants and art all about. Not to hard to get to from the interstate or in town. Service was great and if we had anything to ask they were on it. Five out of five

Yelp
Held back a star cuz the service was really slow. I had the bad luck to be there when they had two large groups-- like 10-12people each that ordered before us. It took almost 2 hours to get some food. The food was tasty for the most part, but naan was burnt, and the lamb a bit dry.

Yelp
Haven't been here is quite awhile. But I've always loved the Mexican sliders. But they don't have them anymore because of 'beef costs'. The waitress suggested a 'special' prime rim sandwich with horseradish sauce. I take the challenge. Ew. Over cooked gristle and a huge blob of fat. I don't know why I didn't send it back. It was pretty inedible. The mayo sauce with chipotle I assume, was room temp so unappealing. The bill came and turns out the special which was I assume beef which was too expensive for the sliders was affordable enough for this horrid excuse for a dish was 24 bucks! I informed the server that it was horrible and laden with fat. I didn't mention the salt which was the over riding factor. She was shocked and gave me her employee discount. Yay. it was a nightmare I wish o could forget.

Yelp
I can not tell you how sad I am to be writing a bad review. Yes, this is my first! It must be said the staff was beyond kind, knowledgeable and efficient (hence the 2-stars) however, the food was terrible. To add insult to injury upon arrival we found out Guy Fieri was there for DDD so we were even more pumped! To our disappointment the food lacked flavor and some was just plain inedible. Apps: shrimp tacos were fishy and lack luster. The wings (Chipotle BBQ) taste like ketchup and the (Teriyaki) has little to no flavor, just sweet. Entree's: Burger and Pesto Past were the only items that had some flavor and were edible. However the steak tacos, shrimp tacos, pasta chihuahua and the sriracha wings all had NO flavor! Being new to El Paso we are always excited to try local favorites, but this place was Horrible with a capital H. ***we sent everything back and requested our check, the manager came and explained how sorry he was, then offered to take care of our bill. Like I said the staff was very professional, kind and efficient. It was the food that brought the rating down for this restaurant***

Yelp
Good food - high prices! This was probably the best restaurant in El Paso, and it is not surprising it was the most expensive take-out meal I have had in awhile. I ordered a salad, calamari, and southwestern pizza with shrimp for roughly $45. The salad was good, albeit a bit overpriced. The calamari was not what I was expecting (rings) but was interesting nonetheless - grilled bulbs and squid legs abounded! The pizza was the highlight of the meal - I swapped the chicken for shrimp and was worried it would be an odd substitution on the southwestern pizza..it was the best shrimp pizza I've had in a long time! The smell coming from the pizza box was overwhelming once it was in the car. I was saving it for dinner so it took a lot of self discipline to keep it covered until a couple hours later. When I was finally able to enjoy my pizza it was as good tasting as it smelled. It was also so filling I only ate about half of it before I was completely full. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I was introduced to this place by a couple locals, & I'm so glad I gave it a try. I came around 3PM, parking was easy, & the entire staff was so nice & pleasant. I ordered the pasta chihuahua & no complaints whatsoever. Pasta was cooked just how I like it - past al dente but not too soft, lots of tomatoes & chorizo. Might be wise to order extra bread for the extra sauce if the pasta doesn't soak it up! Cool, chill, ambience too. I came in my Birkenstock's lol
