Ordered the Bogre con Arroz: very flavorful and the fish melts in your mouth. The empanadas have a great corn flavor; my personal favorite is the empanadas de pollo.

OMG, I didn't know how good Colombian food was until I tried this place...simply wow, it's a must try, however it's a small place, and you need to call ahead to get seats, this place it's usually packed. But the wait and food are absolutely worth it.

Google
First time having Columbian food. Had the bandeja paisa trifasica which included, chicharron (pork), rice, beans, blood sausage, and thing corn-based bread called an arepa, beef, avocado, abd sweet plantain. Everything was great. There were a few things I didn't care for like the arepa which was bland, hard and dry. The green plantain was also bland. Everything else was good. Will definitely come back and try some other dishes. Also had this beer and soda mix which went well with the food. Service was decent and there's enough room for about 30+ people.

Google
The food is great, and the service is amazing. I will be back soon.

Google
I have driven by several times but never went. Our pastor is from Columbia and he brought us there for a lunch meeting. Everything was delicious from the steak to the plantains and dessert. I also tried the fresh mango juice. Wow. 🤩 I’m definitely coming back with my husband next time. Very welcoming atmosphere.

Google
While the food is pretty decent the value simply isn’t there and the restaurant nickel and dimes you for everything here. We ordered our food to go and wasn’t told ahead of time that not only is there a charge for using credit cards but that they also charge a bag fee. I’m fine with paying for these things if I’m informed in advance, but to not be informed and simply be charged left and right sour taste in my mouth. Sadly I probably won’t be back.

Very good food , cleanliness and excellent service.

Google
If you are in the area and you like gumbo and jambalaya then you need to visit. Check out their menu. They also have chicken and waffles. Fyi Cajun style is spicy not medium. It's not a fancy restaurant so don't expect a great ambiance.

Yelp
Mmmmm, what a great little Cuban spot that I can run to for a decent lunch deal and a full belly. Very happy that my friend suggested this place. We ordered the Lengua de Salsa and the Bandeja Paisa to share. There was more than enough and one of us went home with a full plate for dinner. The meats were seasoned well and while my belly couldn't eat anymore, my mouth wanted to keep chomping away. We added a guanabana drink made with milk and another pink one that I can't remember the name of, made with water. Unless you're lactose intolerant, I definitely think the drinks made with milk are the way to go. The service is great, they are very friendly and helpful. It would easier and probably even better if you speak Spanish. There's parking on the street and a small lot on the east side of the building.

Yelp
They certainly have a seasoning that is great. It leaves a taste in your mouth that makes you want more. Having said that, the actual food is not the best. There is a difference between seasoning and food, they nailed the seasoning. The patacones... nope. The empanadas, delicious. Lackluster service, it was not terrible. The lady was very friendly when she acknowledged us, which was not often. Overall, it was not a terrible experience, but wouldn't make the drive to go back.

Yelp
I'm really disappointed. This picada was expensive just to get a lot of yuca, potato and overcooked ribs and chicharrón . We only got 3 pieces of chorizo and we didn't get carne asada . I ordered it for pick up so I didn't notice it at the restaurant.

Yelp
Yummy food bandeja paisa is the best times suck they close early I wish they stayed open late

Yelp
First time coming here, and it was good. It was just me and my mom. We got arepas and empanadas to share. The service was great and fast. Our server was very kind and attentive. The space is very small but very cute. Looking forward to coming back and trying other things.

Yelp
Well, I've been coming to this restaurant since 2018. The food is always good, but being American i am used to spot on or two lest attentive service. I mean the place isn't even that big and you I u need 6 servers that all still mess up your order or forget something- i don't get it. The foods always good though and definitely Colombian in every way including the service- go there and find out for yourself lol
google avatar

Monica R.

Yelp
Finally my husband and I went to try the Colombian food. We liked a lot. We will eat very well when we will go there. The arepas are delicious, the meal with fish was really tasty. The pandebono was good, sorry, I still prefer my cheese bite from Brazil. The service is great, very friendly. And the ambiance is nice! You can see Colombian channel and listen the music. The price is really good! Two appetizers, juice, soda and one meal- $31 dollars. You should try it!

Yelp
Sazón Colombia is my go-to when I need to satisfy my Colombian cravings, specially for breakfast. But this time It was for dinner time. You can never go wrong with a Bandeja Paisa. The only down side is to not be hungry enough to finish one for myself but it is definitely shareable for two people. Service is great for the most part.

Yelp
My friend and I had breakfast at Sazón! We started with a few of their delicious cheese breads and buñuelos and an order of chicaron. Then, we both had desayunos completos. Each plate was only $10!!!. My friend had the blood sausage and I had the carne asada. It also came with scrambled eggs. The whole meal is filling and super tasty. The buñuelos were crusty and beautifully fried. My favorite is the soft bread with guava jelly. The rice with beans is super savory and flavorful, and my carne was thin and flavorful...the chicaron was super delicious, coming with crispy fat and meat. This is a great place to eat Colombian food. The ladies greeting and servicing customers were very pleasant and kind. Sazón is a quaint, warm spot with awesome food and service. In my hangriness, I forgot to take pic of the plates as a usual! Here's my extra order of cheese bread.

Yelp
Tasty food and excellent service. Definitely will be back. Empanadas were definitely a must try, it is truly a Colombia tasty appetizer.

Yelp
MIL is craving for Pande Bono. This is the only place I can find nearby, came in at 8 am freshly baked so good. The person in the counter is so friendly

Yelp
I tried this place on a work lunch for the first time and it was okay. The service was good for the most part. The lady that served us was nice and thought it was nice she brought us limes for our waters. She even helped take photos of our table. Overall good service. The food itself isn't bad. However, I feel it lacked a bit of flavor. My fries were a tad cold but I didnt much of it anyway. The serving is very generous as you can see in my photo. The platano was the best part of my plate so that being said, not sure I'd return but that isn't to say it was terrible just not as I was expecting. Maybe other dishes were good but our table also ordered tongue with salsa and was told it was also bland. Overall wasn't the worst but not for me.

Yelp
I came by to try some Colombian food in the Los Angeles area because it's not common to see this type of food in this area. The food was ok. Their papa rellena was good but cold. The bunuelos were stale and dry. The cheese arepa was very good, but lacked flavor. The real reason why I gave this place 1star is because the ladies that attended me were not very friendly or warm. There is an older lady that I think runs the place, she's the worst one of them all. I hope this was just this time that they were rude. I believe that if you're introducing your food to the rest of the world, you need to be a lot more nicer and attentive with your new customers. I don't think I'll be back.

Chrisitian B.

Yelp
No designated waiting area...... The lady told us "wait outside" and that we would be called as soon as there was a table. We saw people walk inside. It's THEIR responsibility to call us! Very unprofessional! I ended up leaving.

Joe V.

Yelp
Delicious food. Bandeja paisa is the best. Ask for the chicharon to be crispy. The empanadas are also excellent. The service is very friendly super amable!
google avatar

Victor W.

Yelp
I always come here. Very polite, pay for my food and they just always have an attitude. The one who looks like a man with the light eyes just ignored me when i ordered another empanada and wanted to tell her to put it in a separate bag she ignored me and then told the kitchen. Don't come here if you have a short fuse or come with a lady who can fight and speaks Spanish.
google avatar

Andrew R.

Yelp
Service: 1/10. Food: 5/10. Portions: 2/10. Total: don't come here. Go to a better Colombian restaurant. $42 for two coffees, 4 empanadas, a chorizo & 4 pastries is extremely overpriced.

Yelp
Have you ever gone to a restaurant and only had appetizers? I like to do that periodically because you get the option to try different items. I find this most beneficial if you are dining solo. I was in this zone when I decided to try Sazon Colombia. The name literally translates into flavor (or seasoning) of Colombia. I was happy to learn that they had free lot parking behind the restaurant. This is a small cozy eatery, with dine in space that has a a very friendly staff. I ordered one each of 3 appetizers. They were the empanada, the pandebono and the bunuelo. For the empanada, I had the carne asada. What first strikes you is the outer covering, which is crisp and has a good bite. I am told the covering is made with precooked corn flour. The filling had very small portions of beef (ground it seems) mixed with mashed potatoes. It was different and went well with the Aji (a mix of finely chopped onions, mild peppers, garlic, cilantro and lime juice). Texture of the sauce resembles chimichurri. I really liked the pandebono, which is the Colombian cheese bread. It had a nice mouth feel and you can taste the cheese but cannot see it. The pandebono dough is made with casava or yuca flour, cheese and egg. The bunuelo is a round cheese fritter, in the shape of a ball. It has a soft crumb and crispy crust with a hint of sweetness. I barely tasted any cheese. The bunuelo is a typical Colombian Christmas treat. It has the texture of corn bread. Service was excellent. There is an extra 3.5% charge for credit cards. I seemed to have missed it. Overall, a memorable experience.

Yelp
Came on a Friday late morning. Like all the reviews, service was slow although the waitress was nice. I had to keep checking in with her for water, coffee refill or to just place an additional order of pastries. I had the desayuno con carne and upgraded the arepa with cheese. Everything tasted delicious. The empanada and buñuelo didn't taste the freshest. The empanada seemed reheated but good flavor. The buñuelo dough was really hard. If it were fresh you would just know. Overall, pricing seemed average compare to other places, food tasted good nothing that really stands out and parking is hard to come by. The ambiance is nice and cozy.

Alex V.

Yelp
I am vegan and found options here to remind me of childhood. The atmosphere is incredible specially when Colombia is playing. I heard some people had the audacity to complain that they could not get a table without reservations. Please be smarter than that. Not many Colombian restaurants small place be prepared to wait or maybe not get in. Don't blame the restaurant blame yourself for assuming The whole staff works their tails off to meet the needs of every patron. Definitely recommend :-)

Yelp
Entramos con hambre y nos fuimos insatisfechos _____________________ Went with the family on our way to Pismo Beach. Being Colombian we love trying out Colombian restaurants and well what a disappointment this was. We were perfectly fine waiting for a table since it was a Saturday morning. We waited about 20 minutes to get a table and we took advantage of the time and checked out the menu. We were seated and new what we wanted to order so we let the waitress know from the moment we sat down. We ordered 6 empanadas, 4 pandebonos, and 3 buñuelos. We got our drinks, pandebonos, and our buñuelos. We expected the empanadas to take some time since we expected them to be fresh. I ended up asking one waiter and he never got a response for us. Next thing you know we get our meals. 3 out of 4 plates the carne asada was cold. The beans were mediocre and tasteless. All around I would not recommend. We NEVER got our empanadas. When we ordered the check the waitress didn't even apologize. Mind you she never came around to ask how we were doing, if everything came out okay throughout the time we were there. All in all.. food was bland, service was trash, but it's a well decorated place. We came in hungry and left dissatisfied.

Jazmin G.

Yelp
1hr wait . They could just tell you instead of lying and saying food would be ready for pick up in 20 mins . Ridiculous. Slow workers . Need fast moving employees especially for a busy place.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! The food came out pretty quick, & it looked so fresh! The chicharrones were so crunchy on the outside & soft on the inside, the beef was tasty & not too chewy, the fried plantains were sweet & hit the spot just right, the sausage was surprisingly moist & had lots of flavor in it, the avocado was nice & green, the rice & beans paired so well as it tasted very well seasoned & it complimented each other. The arepa was really good too, it just needed butter on the side but I just didn't bother to ask because everything else was so tasty. The service was pretty good, nothing special. & the Colombian music was very nice to hear, change of music from all the other restaurants. Overall ambiance was lovely. Thank you

Yelp
Great food with good sazón! Service was a bit slow but we chose to dine in during an important soccer game so it was to be expected. Service was friendly overall and the atmosphere was great considering Colombia was playing. Cannot wait to go back and try more things on the menu, everything was amazing!

Rafael L.

Yelp
Amazing food with big portions size and the empanadas an pan de bono are so good the staff are very kind and helpful

Joshua R.

Yelp
Placed an order on postmates and I even called the restaurant to remind them to put the green salsa for the empanadas and she still forgot to put it. This is the 3rd time I order from here and they forget something.

Yelp
Wonderful food and great hospitality! We came to Sazon to celebrate our friend's birthday and this is my first try at Colombian cuisine. Overall, the food was excellent and service was wonderful! The restaurant is located in small outdoor shopping center and parking is available at the back. The sitting area is medium sized with about 8-10 tables available. This place also seems very popular for take-out. For lunch, we ordered an assortment of empanada, fried plantains and entrees of seafood, chicken and pork. Since I am a pescatarian, I tried the veggies and cheese empanada and ordered the fish entree. The veggie empanada was very fresh and tasted delicious. The cheese empanada was a bit hollow with minimal filing. As for my entree, I ordered the fried whole tilapia, with sides of salad, rice and fried plantains. The tilapia was made to perfection and the serving was very generous. For the cost of $16 for the entree, it was a steal. The service was good and our waitresses gave us excellent recommendations. We all had a really time dining at the restaurant. Highly recommend!

Yelp

L R.

Yelp
The empanadas aren't to be missed - they're great! This was recommended by a friend who grew up in Bogota and she loves this place. It's going to take me a little while to explore the menu to know what my favorite will be, but I can't imagine better empanadas!
google avatar

Yelp
Omg what a place to eat Love it The beans and the chicharrones Are so delicious, fresh food , nice music , great service. Love love love this place.
google avatar

Anastasia P.

Yelp
The service was amazing. They were closing up and she was so attentive and nice. The food was delicious. Had some empanadas and a juice. It was just what I needed. 4 stars because the hours are short it's more of a breakfast and lunch place. Other than that it's amazing. Definitely recommend it. Gracias por todo!!
google avatar

Yelp
Their Beef Empanadas & the green little sauce is the Ultimate!!! It has taken me years to finally find those Golden delicious empanadas!!! The Service was great and the ambiance is wonderful.

Yelp
Good colombian food stop here for breakfast ladies are always nice a very busy small restaurant very clean parking in the rear but just park at the right parking lot space. There is a security guard that pops out from the cars very intimidated is part of the property over all food is good check out the menu and order .

Mary G.

Yelp
Mediocre service specially when ordering for take out. Asked for chicken, they included pork, needed to make other trip to get the right order. Always check your order right there! or you'll be sorry you even expended this kind of money for a few lunches! I do not recommend this place food is not even good. Disappointing in every aspect!

Judy R.

Yelp
It's not the first time I've eaten at this place, and I wanted to give them another chance and this was the result, totally disgusting, it's a shame that they don't care about customer service and they still have a long way to go to show what Colombian food truly is.

Jay J.

Yelp
Not good at answering their phone for call in orders, but the food was good, meat inside my empanada was a bit under cooked. Chorizo was great. Overall it was cool. Prob just have my mom cook for me next time (shes colombian)

Yelp

google avatar

Angel R.

Yelp
I arrived at the place, there were a lot of people but very poor organization on the waiting list, they made me wait for 25 minutes to then sign up on the list, another person arrived and took a seat quickly
google avatar

Shelly D.

Yelp
Best authentic Colombian food!!! Beef soup and empanadas were insane!!! Great service and taste!!! No alcohol license though so no cervesas!
google avatar

Xavier B.

Yelp
One of few Colombian restaurants left in the valley and this place never disappoints. I have not stayed to eat, it's always been take out. The place is clean and colorful and reminds me of home (Colombia). The staff has always been pleasant and the ambience reminds me of home as well with smiles and good service. I always get the empanadas, bunuelos and pan de bono and the Bandeja paisa. Can never go wrong with these choices. When I get a chance, I'll come and try their other dishes. Give them a try!

Kimberly D.

Yelp
Food here is pretty good! However I feel like the service could be better. I think they definitely need to work on their customer service skills so people can feel welcomed whenever they come back and not feel like they're a nuisance. I ordered through post mates and ordered an appetizer in which you cannot specify the type of meat that you want. When I brought this up the staff (all Except for one kind girl) sounded annoyed that I was having this issue and asked me to call next time to clarify what I wanted. I speak Spanish so I can also tell when someone is being passive aggressive. I just walked out not knowing if I got what I wanted. I also got no napkins so or utensils for my pick-up order! Huge disappointment and just overall a bad vibe. Definitely need to work on their attitude as well.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Provender: great Colombian restaurant in the heart of the valley. I ordered the Bandeja Paisa, and it was filling and delicious. It comes with a wide variety of meats, plantains, egg, beans, and rice. The portion is large, so I recommend ordering this dish and splitting it between two people. Prices: the Bandeja Paisa will run you about $17, but it's a generous portion of food that feeds two. Other items are less expensive and they also have pastry appetizers starting at $1.50. Parking: there is street parking on Nordoff or a dedicated lot. For the lot you can enter on Nordoff or Mason. People: fun for all. Perks: the ambiance inside was nice, and sometimes they have live music. The staff were all very friendly. In addition to the food they serve, they also sell Colombian potato chips and snacks.
google avatar

Johnny D.

Yelp
I enjoy the lunch menu from this place. I've been coming here lately and have not been disappointed. I would give it 5 stars but the downside is they charge you for a To-Go container, which I think it's ridiculous.

Lamar W.

Yelp
My wife LOVES this place. Food always on point, parking wasnt hard to find, and its not too far from us. Service was on point and so was the ambiance !
google avatar

Jessica B.

Yelp
I usually love going to this place - but..... yesterday I picked up some empanadas and guess what .. they change the "MASA" (DOUGH) to the Empanadas- my empanadas where hard and it was so hard to bite into them ..really nasty -- I called them n yes I was right , they said apparently they CAN'T find the old "masa" "dough"- that doesn't even make sense - I really hope this is temporary cause I love their menu and there empanadas were the best --

Yelp
This place has a authentic colombian food enjoy eating her no issues at all. Recommend it to all my friends.

Yelp
I love this restaurant I've been coming here for the past 2 years. The food has always been fresh and delicious! I love love the chicken empanadas with both red & green salsa. It's inexpensive! I recommend this restaurant to everyone I come across.
