"But while American chocolate has long been dismissed by the rest of the world for being overly milky and sweet, Scharffen Berger blazed into town at the end of the millennium and pioneered a style of domestic dark chocolate that was bold and flavorful." - Becky Duffett

Google
I would honestly rate this place a 5 if I were more of a chocolate lover but I typically prefer salty to sweet. Great chocolate though, and very friendly staff. Great place to pick up gifts for family and friends or pop in for a quick treat.

Judith Lewis

Google
A mixed review for this place. They have OK chocolate and they are trying to make a difference and they have nice baked goods but I had a weird experience with one of the shop assistants and so I can’t give it 5 stars. Worth a peek but I think there is better chocolate in SF

James Beswick

Google
I'm not a huge fan of the chocolate but this location does a great job of gift wrapping the product in a way you wouldn't see in the traditional outlets that sell Scharffen Berger. Good service here too.

Yelp
I discovered this chocolate company (which is really an understatement) in an article in the NYTimes column WIRECUTTER, which named it its top BOXED chocolate confections of 2024. Wow, indeed it was incredibly delicious, esoteric, explosions of taste and texture in your mouth, and oh yes, very very very expensive. But it was worth every sinful tiny bite and lick. I ordered three boxed chocolates, two intended for gifts for very special people, and very large boxed chocolate for myself and husband. I never did tell my husband how much it cost, because he would have looked at me with that look of "what, are you crazy?" and I would have said "yes, crazy in love with you, after 50 years of being together, and I wanted us/you to experience this very special chocolate". Frankly, I did not think that the two couples who were gifted Recchiuti, as one couple shoved them down their fat mouths so quickly, as opposed to savoring each bite and stretching out for weeks. All they said was "yeah, it was good and we finished it", Well dears, no more Recchiuti gifts for you! The other couple, or 1/2 of the couple, said "yes, I read the artcile you sent me (from NYTimes), and "where do you find these very special things?" I think she appreciated it, or at least was blown away with the price. I don't think she will get any more from me either. And to the person/s who states "do not order on-line", blah blah blah...I ordered on-line, the process was simple, artistic, creative. I received notices via email each step of the process, tracked the chocolate from start to my home, and the carton arrived safe, secure, not damaged, fresh, and sinfully decadent. Our large box lasted more than month hidden away on a top shelf in our kitchen closet. Why? So long or short a time? Well, I allowed my husband, of course, to eat as much as he wanted, and I curtailed my tasting to a few times a week and only one piece at a time. As I said, it is very special. And very expensive. GO FOR IT. I'm just a simple guy from BROOKLYN, NY who retired at age 55, am now 74, and must know a thing or two about life, living it well, and sins and chocolate. (I'll see if I have any phtos).

Yelp
Gourmet chocolate shop in the Ferry building. After sampling a couple flavors, I decided on the box of Champagne Truffles ($50 for 34 pieces) and their Classic Sampler ($16 for 4 pieces). Note that all sampler boxes are prepackaged, so unfortunately, you can't pick and choose what pieces you want included. Chocolates were smooth and made well. Reminded me a bit of Michael Misher chocolates in the style, flavor and presentation.

Ritu A.

Yelp
If you are ever looking to gift chocolate to a special someone, then get them chocolates from here! The rich flavor of chocolates combined with fine packaging makes it the ultimate gift. I dont think they samples though which is a bummer.

Yelp
We had such a fun time stopping by Recchiuti on our Edible Excursions tour. After a taste of the wonderful chocolate we came back for the Cherries Two Ways. They were exquisite and the staff was efficient and kind. We were extra lucky of meeting one of the owners as well, and he's lovely. Highly recommend the shop. Parking can be a bear at the Ferry Building so we parked a block or so across the street. We were here mid-week and it was lovely to miss the crowds of the weekend.

Yelp
On my last day in SF, I decided to venture out to the Ferry Building. My friend, an SF local, told me that if there was one thing I'd bring home from SF, it'd have to be chocolate from Recchiuti. The associate who helped me was very enthusiastic and generous with his time as he offered me samples and gave various suggestions. I eventually left with a 9-piece assortment of dark chocolates. They were the BEST chocolates I've ever had in my life. I've never been a huge fan of sweet sesame desserts, but the sesame caramel chocolate haunts my dreams. I also loved the yuzu truffle, raspberry ganache, banana, and the rosemary olive oil. I am kind of a purist when it comes to chocolate and am wary of trying wackier flavors; This is mainly because I've tried so many that are gimmicky and executed poorly. Even my parents who don't like strong herbal flavors like rosemary enjoyed Recchiuti's take. The raspberry chocolate honestly changed my life--instead of a kind of gummy, jelly pate de fruit, it's a deeply aromatic, concentrated raspberry paste (?) that oozes out of the chocolate. I would consider 30+ bucks to be a bit steep for 9 pieces of chocolate, but Recchiuti's chocolate is pure art and I would take it over See's any day.

Yelp
DO NOT ORDER ONLINE. As a dine-in/pickup spot they may be fine but their online ordering was disastrous in my experience. I ordered express shipping and what arrived was a set of chocolate with one cold pad completely melted and destroyed. I sent pictures and their response was: "Next time do overnight shipping. Here's a couple bucks for your trouble." Super cool.

Yelp
It seems like the days of arranging a chocolate box from individual candy choices are gone... for now at least. Everything comes prepacked, many of which are all of the same item. So not very conducive if you just want to stop by for a piece or two. But the candy is so good here, you'll be sure to enjoy whatever larger item you do buy. Fleur de Sel Caramel Brownie: Intense enjoyment. Imagine an extremely rich and gooey brownie that was then infused with delicious patches of caramel. And the caramel is a darker variety than most caramel I've had, browned to be even richer. That little brownie goes a long way and will fill you up. Fudge Brownie: Not as good as the caramel brownie. Felt drier, wish it were gooier. Also, the chocolate chunks felt chalky. It's still a brownie so still tasty, but best to stick with the caramel variant. S'Mores Bites: These are so much fun. It's like an artisanal marshmallow square covered in a medium-thickness coating of dark chocolate. That alone is delicious. But at the bottom, also covered in chocolate, is graham cracker that tastes sweetly caramelized. So addictive. Chocolate Dipped Candied Orange Peel: One of my all time favorites. Love glacéed fruit, especially the citrus variety where tart peels are magically transformed into gooey candy. And then a semisweet chocolate is the perfect semi-bitter pairing to all that sweetness. It's completely covered in chocolate, so no risk of sticky hands.

Yelp
Delicious! The Burnt Carmel is next level Worth the trip downtown for sure. May seem expensive but you get what you pay for

Yelp
I ordered chocolates online here about a week and half in advance of Valentines Day. Recchiuti created a label, but never shipped the chocolates and never contacted me. I contacted them after a week, and they said, yes, their labels are not scanning, or it may have been lost - they didn't know - and I could get a refund if I wanted. It seems like they probably screwed up something on their end and offered no goodwill gesture or anything (maybe 20% off another order would take the sting off???) to make up for the situation. I showed my girlfriend the email since I could not give her the gift as I originally planned and had to make other late arrangements. I can't recommend this company based on my experience.

Yelp
I was lucky to receive the special white & chocolate heart filled with caramel from my friend Bob T. What a delicious & sweet surprise!!! I'm in love with their chocolates & will have to go get more!!!

Yelp
My colleague and I were celebrating a big accomplishment at work, so we walked to the Ferry Building to explore different places to get a treat. I came across Recchiuti and decided to check it out. I'm a big chocolate fan, so I figured chances were good I'd find something I'd like. Naturally, there were too many tempting choices and, having to get back to work, I made a quick decision to get the Dark Hot Chocolate Pistoles. By the time we got back to the office, I had decided I wanted the chocolate caramels instead. Not wanting the chocolates to get knocked around in my bag, I left the box on my desk, and when I was back the following week, I returned to the Ferry Building and asked to make the exchange. The employee I spoke to agreed that if I wasn't planning to bake a fancy dessert, I'd probably enjoy the caramels more...but he and the other person working at Recchiuti let me know that they don't do returns or exchanges. I pointed out that I had the receipt from the purchase the previous week and that the chocolates were still wrapped and the box was in the exact condition as when I bought it. They certainly weren't rude, but they wouldn't budge, saying that once the chocolates leave the store, they can't take them back. I understand that some stores have a no return policy -- that's their prerogative -- I just think if that's the policy, it would be professional to list that on the receipt and tell the first-time customers (during my visit and selection process, I shared that it was my first time and that I was open to recommendations) that they should be sure of their decisions before buying. I don't doubt the pistoles are high quality -- I will taste them soon enough -- I'm just disappointed in the store's policy and lack of transparency.

Yelp
Been to this store several times and finally brought home a box of burnt caramel almonds and OMG! It is totally worth $14. I will definitely be back and exploring other items with my childcare lover daughter! The staff were uber nice too and were helpful. Tip: If you join their marketing list you get 10% discount.

Yelp
For the last 10 or 12 years. I have called Rechiutti Confections and sent Valentine's Day chocolates to my wife and my 2 daughters. These are crafted chocolates made with a lot of TLC. I call every year and place my order, I know exactly what is contained in the boxes. Rechiutti does the rest. Their courteous employees email my receipt, notified me on the status of my order from date filled to date delivered. You can opt for one of their boxes or custom select your delectables. I opt for a box that contains distinct chocolates bases with unmistakably real ingredients to produce an unforgettable consumer experience. Rechiutti Confection chocolates are REAL CHOCOLATES. I have been to their shop at the Ferry Building in San Francisco. A fun place to visit and sample different gourmet chocolates. Visit their web site: http://www.recchiuti.com. Gourmet Chocolates for all occasions. Recchiutti

Yelp
I was a huge fan of their chocolates for years and ordered their bars all the time online. I refuse to order or buy them anymore. Somehow, despite all we know in 2023, in their packaging redesign, they decided to ADD SINGLE USE PLASTIC PIECES to protect their chocolate bars from breakage. Ridiculous and so short sited. I don't care how delicious your chocolate is, I won't buy from such an irresponsible company. I now by Hu chocolates, which are delicious and - no plastic!

Martha M.

Yelp
Special chocolates, worth the steep price -- if you're actually able to purchase them. They don't accept paper money, but they will gladly put the customer's private credit card information down on paper when their payment systems are not functioning.

Michelle L.

Yelp
The smoothest and richest chocolates I've had in SF so far. If you've never had anything by Recchiuti before, they offer samples at the counter and there are samples throughout the store as well. Each of their products are laid out in class cases with descriptive names so you can see exactly what they have to offer. They have many different boxes that are perfect for gifting and sampling. Since I was there near Valentine's Day they had boxes of different sizes with Valentine's motifs - love birds, the chemistry of love, and the language of love. They have some souvenir boxes that feature some iconic SF tourist destinations and ones that are curated especially for the caramel lover, dark chocolate enthusiast, etc. You can also build your own box in different sizes. Look out for their sales because they make a huge difference! Everything in the store was 20% off the day that I went which was pretty awesome. The sales associates are all happy to give their opinion on things and no one was pushy

Noelle J.

Yelp
Noelle's Yelp Notebook 2019 Recchiuti Confections at the Ferry Building is nice spot for picking up chocolates. The customer service ranges from amazing to good to mediocre. We stop here often because my 6.5 year old son likes both Recchiuti and Dandelion dark chocolates. They chocolates are beautifully displaced behind glass jewel box cases. The designs are really pretty. Some of the chocolate is amazing while some of the chocolate truffles are not. Each time we go we buy truffles in a special box with a fancy ribbon. If you're going to go here multiple times be sure to sign up for the rewards program. They do give samples- just ask. These truffles make nice gift for a loved one. We have literally purchased and tasted all their truffles. The Best Burnt Carame Force Noir Madagascar Varietal Fleur de Seo Caramel Butterscotch Caramel The Worst Ginger Heart Honeycomb Cassis Strata Kona Coffee Lavender Vanilla Marshmallows- meh, nothing special. So it's a mixed bag experience from chocolates to customer service. Noelle's Notes Hit or Miss customer service Hit or Miss chocolates

Yelp
I'm a fan of their chocolate boxes! Gifted for this holiday to share some holiday cheers. A bit pricey but definitely worth the craftsmanship. All chocolates are handmade and super unique. Here's the black box chocolate set I got for myself. Savoring and appreciating each bite...yum!!!

Mark D.

Yelp
It's the best, plain and simple! Their chocolate anything is a delight. Talk about caramel, wow! So flavorful. For all of their products the taste is great and not buried by too much sugar. Check it out at the Ferry Building, SF! Guaranteed you'll love it.

Angela P.

Yelp
We had zero intention of purchasing anything when we wondered in here, but the beautifully displays of chocolate and the super sweet staff we quickly changed our minds. We saw they had chocolates that were meant for whiskey pairing-who would have thought. We were going to meet a friend in a couple of days who we thought would appreciate the gift-and he did.

Kimberly J.

Yelp
Located in the Ferry Building Marketplace. While walking around, we came across this delicious chocolate shop. Employees are friendly and helpful. Our goodies were wrapped up neatly. They have a beautiful variety of chocolate pieces, caramels, chocolate bars, chocolate dipped fruits/nuts, baked goods, etc. Their chocolates are on the pricier side but quality ingredients are used. Tried the black box chocolates and they were perfect. Not overly sweet, smooth, flavorful and each piece was unique. I especially loved their tea infused with dark chocolate pieces. Yum! This place is a complete treat, thanks B!

Mary Annette P.

Yelp
Ordered the Black Box chocolates as reviewed by The New York Times. Shipping very expensive, chocolates sort of "meh" in comparison to similarly priced European candy. Ate 2 pieces and got violently ill. Wrote an email to Recchiuti concierge who essentially just said, "that's a shame."

Joan W.

Yelp
I like the look of this store and the selection. Their chocolates are on the darker side and very rich. My favorite is the candied orange slice sticks which are similar to the ones they have at Fevre. You can get them separately or a larger pre-packaged box. They have many individual truffles and a good selection of prepackaged chocolate boxes such as Peppermint Thins, Peanut Butter Pucks, Key Lime Pears, Key Lime Apples, and they even have a Smores kit! I thought I'd like the chocolate covered apples more but the slices were really thin, I guess I had pictured it more of the same thickness as the candied oranges. The Ferry building is a really good location making it easy for commuters to get a chocolate fix on the way home.

Jessica O.

Yelp
The chocolates were flavored appropriately. However, I do not feel that every flavor goes with chocolate. I especially disliked the burnt flavors. I will be throwing these away. Not worth the calories.

Lacey T.

Yelp
I happened upon Recchiuti after a weeklong chocolate gorge-fest, and judging from their rather traditional (read: boring) though upscale design and style, did not expect to like it all that much. I actually entered the small shop, waited a bit for assistance, found the lone employee too busy, and left. On my way out of the Ferry Building, though, I passed it again, and I simply have an inability to encounter a chocolate shop without trying SOMETHING, so went back in, and thankfully the crowd had died down enough that I was able to procure some treats. The shop girl was charming and helpful. They have a variety of prepackaged goods, chocolate bars, and small candies, but I like making my own selections, so opted to put together a small box. It consisted of the following: Peanut Butter Puck-Smooth cocoa-y peanut butter filling coated in crisp dark chocolate. Like a grown up Reese's cup! Honeycomb-Their description states it is white chocolate ganache topped by honeycomb (my all time favorite candy EVER!), but I disappointingly did not get any crunchy bits of anything in my chocolate. The filling, however, is tasty with a silky texture and luscious honey molasses/caramelized white chocolate flavor, but it is quite sweet, and I did not love the milk chocolate coating. Pearl Mint Tea-Who would have thought green tea and peppermint would be such a perfect pair? The notes of sweet mint mellowed the tea, which can sometimes be too grassy in desserts for my taste. This was such a surprising and creative treat! Black Sesame Nougat- I adored the thin crunch of brittle combined with nutty sesame bitterness then tempered by so, so smooth dark chocolate ganache. Cassis strata-Lovely tart currant jelly paired with silky ganache. This was probably my favorite. Spring Jasmine Tea- I did not catch much of the tea flavor, but jasmine was present and divine. Just floral enough without tasting perfume-y. Filling is silky and melts quickly. Tarragon Grapefruit-I adore grapefruit, but it was too bitter here. Perhaps if more candied it would work better. I cook with tarragon often, so familiar with its tendency to overpower, a fatal flaw in this truffle. I cannot recall the exact price, but I think it was around $3 per piece. Overall, I was truly impressed by the imaginative combinations (and even those that were not quite hits for me have to be respected for at least thinking outside the box!) and skilled creations. Really, the only thing I did not care for was their milk chocolate, which truly suffered in comparison to the wonderful high quality dark. On the way out, I noticed a freezer containing popsicles from their partnership with Bar Gelato - next time!

Paula R.

Yelp
Omg this is my favorite chocolate place right now. We bought the black assortment box, and every piece is a masterpiece, an explosion of flavor! You can taste the lemon, the ginger, the lavender. Kids got brownies and loved those as well.

Miki K.

Yelp
Always fun to come to the Ferry Building and select the pieces of chocolates and other candies I love. Since covid only allowed pre-packaged candies, the Burgundy box has been my go to, as it has both chocolates and the yummy fruit candies. Individual pieces wise, love the sesame, rose caramel, lemon verbena, and lavender. Always get the pate de fruits - sometimes they run out online. If you like sour and sweet, get the cherries 2 ways. Seasonal items to get are the key lime pear and apple dipped in chocolate. The s'mores packages are so cute as gifts! The dark hot chocolate makes a really delicious rich one in the Fall and Winter. Service both in person and online/phone are friendly. Friends and relatives rave about gifts I've sent them. The quality is always reliable.

Jim A.

Yelp
5 stars for beautiful presentation. 3 stars for flavor. Received a large gift box of these chocolates recently. Although very expensive I suspect the cost is lower than for similar high quality chocolate in Paris. So reasonably priced from a chocolate fanatic's point of view. Not so enthusiastic about the taste though. I feel there is a lack of depth of rich chocolate flavor. Well this is pretty subjective I know.

Mark F.

Yelp
A warning about Recchiuti: they ship their chocolates unsealed with plastic or cellophane, risking ants and other insects. I received $300 in chocolates, infested with ants, and Recchiuti refuses to remedy the situation. Meanwhile, I also received (and are sitting next to the Recchiuti) chocolates from Michel Cluizel & Ethel M, fudge & fruitcake from Gethsemani Farms, and cookies from Termini bakery - all without ants, and sealed in plastic as food should be when shipped across the country.

Monica S.

Yelp
For years I've read about Recchiuti chocolates and have finally had a chance to try some of their confections. Although the chocolates are very good, prepare to dig in to your wallet. Currently, the store is closed for remodeling, BUT they have a small stand just a little ways down.

Kristen R.

Yelp
These chocolates are so good. Every single flavor is spot on. I especially like the fleur de sel caramels. But this review is more for their customer service. Jasmine is a saint. I had an issue with a delivery and she was so kind to help me out and get it resolved. It's the holidays and a stressful time, but she was an absolute pleasure to work with. I'm very appreciative of her efforts and thankful she assisted me.

Sara S.

Yelp
Honestly the best chocolate out there! We shop here every year for holiday gifts for our friends and family. Truly special chocolate. We always get the burgundy box!

Bill K.

Yelp
Two or our favorite things in life; chocolate and wine. We picked up box of the red wine pairing collection. The chocolates were disgusting; star anise, jasmine tea..... who comes up with such s**t as that. I wonder what the chocolatier's were thinking. Umm lets throw in some grass, dirt, ground up rocks. I dunno? After a few bites we had to stop eating, since we didn't want the wine ruined.

Kirstin H.

Yelp
My favorite chocolate shop in SF! I love everything I've had from this place, they have a playful take on high end chocolate and their quality is top notch. Only downside is that they are pretty expensive, so it's definitely a fancier treat than something like Ghiradellis.

David L.

Yelp
This is easily my favorite chocolatier in the Bay Area! They have very high quality premium chocolates and excellent service as well. The prepackaged variety boxes makes it easy if you can't decide and choose flavors for yourself. However I prefer to choose my own pieces as it is cheaper to do that than getting the prepacked boxes. Lots of flavors to choose from and I like to go for the dark chocolates. These are high quality chocolates similar to ones you get in Belgium and Swiss chocolate shops. The prices are a bit high but you are getting a premium chocolate. If you are expecting See's Candies then this is not the place for you. Can't wait to come back!

Katie H.

Yelp
After looking around at all my options I went with the Peanut Butter Puck, the Sesame Nougat and the Seasonal Carrot Cake Truffle. I have to say the Peanut Butter Cup was the only disappointment of the the three. Honestly, I felt like the milk chocolate wasn't sweet enough and the peanut butter wasn't salty enough. But I did enjoy the Sesame Nougat! Although I feel it was more of a chewy brittle that the fluffier nougats I'm used to. The main flavors in this we're definitely the rich dark chocolate and sweetness of the caramalized "nougat". The Carrot Cake was definitely the most unique and ended up being my favorite. It contained a layer of carrot jelly and a layer of a spiced chocolate ganache, all enticed in white chocolate. When I first bit in, tasting all these things separately was a little strange. But once they all melt together in your mouth, so good! And actually tastes like Carrot Cake!

Abby D.

Yelp
I have ordered their chocolates numerous times and have given them as gifts. Everyone raves about how good they are, and they're right! Their chocolates are delectable and they never disappoint. Anytime I need to give a gift, I'm confident a box of Recchiuti's chocolates will be sure to please.

Ashely C.

Yelp
This is the best chocolate in the US! I always order this if I want to send a special gift to someone. In addition, their customer service is amazing! When I had a question, their customer service employee Danny, was so gracious and went above and beyond in helping me. I will always be a loyal customer :)

Rod M.

Yelp
Inside of the ferry building you'll find a spot that looks nothing like a chocolate store but rather a high end jewelry store. I had flash backs of engagement ring shopping taking a look at this place. There are so many chocolates to choose from I settled on two of the more " popular" ones: Fleur de Sel caramel Force noir I had high expectations given the reviews , presentation and the very friendly workers. When I actually took a bite I was very disappointed in the taste. I could barely finish each one. Now I have no doubt that there are better flavors since I've had a positive experience at other local high end chocolate venues. I just know that I won't be ordering those two flavors again. 2 stars for now but I'm sure it will go up... Who doesn't love Chocolate and Ice Cream? Yelp
Brownie fiends delite over the delicious bars that Recchiuti is baking up...to me it seems like a cross between fudge and a chewy brownie. And brownie fiends would definitely recommend heating this up and drinking it with a glass of milk! Bon appetite!

Nettie A.

Yelp
I've been spending my children's college money on these chocolates for 13 years:). They are amazing. You can't go wrong with Rechiutti confections. They make beautiful gifts. You can also get their burnt caramel is customized with different art on the top. They get various artists to do series of art on their chocolates. They definitely make a beautiful gift and they taste great too. Rechiutti is worth a visit for sure.

Nitin C.

Yelp
Had a last-minute gift delivery that I wanted to make happen, and against all odds, Recchiuti made it work out, even after hours! Was so touched and impressed--and the recipient loved the salted caramels!

Yelp
Great chocolates! Slight problem: it's pricy. Solution: Here is what I did. Living near The Ferry Building, I visit the marketplace quite frequently, so I made a point to peek at Recchiuti on every visit. Every time I picked up food at Out the Door, I checked. After eating mushroom curry rice at Delica R/F-1, I checked. One day, just before Christmas, they had a tray full of samples!!! Scoooorrrreeee!!! I take a piece; pretend that I am interested in buying something; take another piece. With so many people in the small store, they didn't seem to notice that I bunkered down and kept going back to the tray. I started to become thirsty, so I thought about getting a dripped Blue Bottle Coffee at Out the Door, but I decided against the idea as I was afraid that the sample tray would be gone by the time I returned. After that day of personal chocolate fest, I cannot get myself to pay for Recchiuti chocolates, so I continue to peek at the store on my visits to Ferry Building. Disclaimer: This review not influenced by their tasty Chocolate covered Key Lime Apples.

Jando S.

Yelp
Anyone with a penchant for the sweets can certainly appreciate all that Recchiuti Confections is trying to do. They are by no means no regular chocolate / candy shop, but a next level establishment featuring confections of the palate pleasing kind. Not only are these sweets beautiful to look at, they taste wonderful as well. They make for the ultimate gift. Pricey all around, these aren't sold in bulk but small, intricate pieces that would work as art on its own. Since Recchiuti is located at the Ferry Building, there is understandably a touristy component to the experience. Even with window shopping, these treats are as impressive as they come. Thank goodness for samples. Chocolate novice needing recommendations? Few can argue the Fleur de Sel Caramel isn't quality. Same goes for the maple bacon toffee, which is so legit that it's hard not to just eat one. The cherry jelly is a nice chocolate alternative, with just enough tartness to merit an order or two. If all else fails, their hot chocolate is one of the best I've had. Chocolate fans or not, this is a must see stall at the Ferry. Plus, the nice staff are like chocolate sommeliers, experts of cocoa in all forms. Learn a little something, sample a little more, and you might have yourself a fabulous gift that few can get anywhere else.

Yelp
I didn't get anything this time, but I wanted to list what I saw: Pep - like thin mints 24 pcs, 3.5 oz $18 candied hazelnuts 6oz $14 PBP - peanut butter pucks 6pc $19 Harvest whoopie pies $9 for 2 pies - available during Oct. Sale on s'mores kits 2 for 1 (2 for $23). On Yelp it mentions 1 kit for $16 (reg $23)

Yelp
First off, I have to say the chocolate are delicious here. However the loyalty program is a bit off. My husband has been buying Christmas gift from this confection store for 3 to 4 years , and spent about $5k in total. This week, which is the week after Valentine's Day,we received a medium sized package from the store, after peeling off piles of paper, we found there is a card and 2pcs of chocolate inside the box. I just feel a bit weird. I would rather receive the card only or a beautiful catalog. I can't help thinking if those two pieces of chocolate are left overs from Valentine's Day. It feels like getting a $10 off coupon from a car dealer. We will find another store with more appropriate CRM this year.

Yelp
Oh, Recchiuti Confections So fantastic. So good! Cute little store with tons of product. Everybody who has ever helped me at the store, have been helpful and knowledgeable. My absolute favorites are the Asphalt Jungle Mix and his Candied Orange Peel and Cherries Two Ways. I always have to visit Recchiuti when I'm in San Francisco. And Michael is the nicest man you could ever meet, should you get the chance.

Yelp
It was okay. I like chocolates with nuts. They didn't have any so I tried some others that sounded tasty. It was descent in texture but wasn't extraordinary.

Yelp
Recchiuti chocolates look whimsical. They resemble little pieces of art. In fact, they ARE little pieces of art - EDIBLE art, that is. But honestly, I think they look better than they taste. La Maison du Chocolat beats them hands down. Unfortunately, La Maison only has locations in Paris, Tokyo, and New York - and even though you can order online, shipping costs a whopping $29 (they ONLY do overnight). I feel absolutely heart-broken.
