The 38 Best Restaurants in Stockholm, Sweden | Eater

"Schmaltz is located in the same building as a Jewish school in the city center, and the owner took inspiration from visits to Russ & Daughters and other delis in New York City. Given limited space for cooking, the tiny restaurant creates a menu based on ingredients like preserves, pates, charcuterie, and smoked fish, along with more composed dishes like Reubens, chicken soup, and duck confit. Pop by for a morning coffee, a long lunch, or dinner." - Per Styregård

Its been a while since I have been to such an amazing place. The vibes are cozy. The location is kinda small so limited seating areas but it is worth the wait. We got the famous sandwich with chicken soup and the steak pie. I highly recommend to try the lemonade with olives.

Me and two friends had dinner here in September, sat outside, nice weather and atmosphere. The guy that served us was highly knowlagble on sandwiches, specially the Ruben, so the service was on point. The foo was great to, probably the best ruben i have had in sweden. they had alot of other food as well. Highly recomended

The food was very good. We ordered the Reuben sandwich and really enjoyed the pastrami, which was flavorful and well-prepared. The place is small but cozy, with a warm atmosphere, and the service was attentive and friendly. I would recommend booking in advance, as the restaurant was full and we only had our table inside for 50 minutes.

The food was absolutely delicious – the flavors were spot on! On the downside, the service felt a bit cold and impersonal. The waiter handled the salami that felt of the playe with his hand, we didn’t get a small dish for the finished olives, and nobody checked in to ask how we liked the food or offered any recommendations.

Overall a decent experience in terms of food quality, the vibes and service were really good. We had a reubin, chicken soup and fish cakes, all pretty good but what you would typically expect from a diner or lunch spot. A place you can’t go wrong but also won’t blow your tastebuds away either.

Excellent. Amazing Ruben sandwich and beautifully warm chicken soup. Just what you want after walking round the city for hours. Highly recommend this lovely deli / cafe. The interior too is designed to perfection with lovely wooden panels along the walls and gorgeous wall lights. Will defo go back! Highly recommend.
