"Schmaltz is located in the same building as a Jewish school in the city center, and the owner took inspiration from visits to Russ & Daughters and other delis in New York City. Given limited space for cooking, the tiny restaurant creates a menu based on ingredients like preserves, pates, charcuterie, and smoked fish, along with more composed dishes like Reubens, chicken soup, and duck confit. Pop by for a morning coffee, a long lunch, or dinner." - Per Styregård

Overall a decent experience in terms of food quality, the vibes and service were really good. We had a reubin, chicken soup and fish cakes, all pretty good but what you would typically expect from a diner or lunch spot. A place you can’t go wrong but also won’t blow your tastebuds away either.

Above all expectations! We came here specifically for Ruben sandwich, and we were not disappointed! It was very tasty. Huge bonus was chocolate mousse served with cherry jam and ice cream.

Great lunch in Stockholm. While we had the sandwich and the soup individually, we would recommend the combo meal where you get half a sandwich and the soup! Note does get busy so you take a chance walking in.

Found this place from the @topjaw guys in YouTube Glad we went to enjoy infact so much we also went back for our last lunch in Stockholm. The Reuben's is sensational and had the combo with chicken soup ( which is comfort hug in a bowl) Also had the gherkins with vodka shots.

Came here for a late night snack and the next day for lunch. Normally when traveling I do don’t visit a spot twice. Maybe it’s the food, the drinks, the atmosphere, the very attentive staff or more likely the combination of all. But we really enjoyed our time here. The dishes are simple but the flavors work very well together. We highly recommend the Reuben Sandwich by the way.

The service was great, very attentive. It's a very small place with a lovely atmosphere. the cocktails were nice and the food highlight was the chicken parfait and fresh bread. We tried the lamb pie and toasted sandwich and soup combo. The soup was too salty but the sandwich was deep filled and nice. It's a better place to have drinks and a nibble I'd say.

Such a charming spot with a warm and friendly welcome and service. The Reuben combo with chicken soup was the perfect choice for a cold winters day. It’s a small restaurant so book ahead.

This place is a must-visit, and I’ll tell you why! Where else in the world will you get a honey-filled sour cream crater with a crispy pickle paired with ice-cold vodka? Well, I got overexcited even typing this, as it immediately evoked all the memories of visiting this charming venue. Don’t get me wrong—the place is about the main course too. I usually go for one of those delicious sandwiches. Always good and fresh. I am also a big fan of their aesthetic. It’s so cinematic that sometimes I just want to sit there, absorb the vibe, and think that I’m the main character. Can’t wait to get back to Stockholm!
