On the Grid : School Bakery and Cafe

"Step into this eclectic, energetic restaurant and it’s instantly clear you're in for a good time. Even before you’ve had a bite, the room scores high on humour. The "gourmet comfort food" on offer is easily worth the wait—just ask the locals. Little details—an apple brought out before the meal, a game of hopscotch on the way to the bathroom—riff on the educational metaphor. Highly recommended for lazy winter weekend feasts." - NUFF

Super popular (busy) spot for brunch but genuinely so good! Get The Safe Bet, cheesy bacon french toast, any of the french toasts

If you’re looking for a cool and laid-back spot to enjoy brunch on the west side of Toronto, School Restaurant in Liberty Village offers a unique atmosphere that blends urban charm with a relaxed, community vibe. It’s the perfect destination for a casual dine-in experience, especially on a weekend when the neighborhood comes to life. For the best experience, ask to be seated on the patio—there’s nothing quite like enjoying a delicious meal outdoors, surrounded by the buzz of the city, while breathing in the fresh air. Whether you’re catching up with friends or just unwinding after a long week, brunching in Liberty Village lets you soak in the neighborhood’s trendy yet welcoming energy.

Our experience at SCHOOL didn’t start out amazing. We had a reso for 12 and weren’t sad until 12:40. Luckily at the end of our stay he comped the birthday girls meal- that was a nice way to make it up to us. All of our food was really yummy! Iced latte was delicious, same with the mango mimosa. As a dairy free person, I would love more options. As well as more savoury vegetarian options. Overall, it was a yummy brunch and the restaurant has a cool vibe. (Washrooms were very dirty)

I walked in after running the underarmour 10k and it was quite busy, we were greeted nicely at the door but had to wait for a table even though we made a booking. Shortly we were seated outside in the patio, but it seemed like the server was focused on serving other tables before coming to us to ask us for our order. The drinks came out fast and were great, but it took 40 minutes after ordering for the food to come, and strangely everything on the plate seemed cold. Even the potatoes and eggs?! The consistency in proportions also seemed off as my partners plate came with way less eggs than mine. Everything was also extremely sugary to a detriment even though i ordered from the savoury menu. For example the honey butter for toast, the candied bacon, caramelized potatoes, and sweet salad dressing. The tables around us left a bit earlier, but their dirty plates were left on the tables for almost the entire time we were eating, maybe there were not enough servers that day... the atmosphere looks great and the plating looks pretty, but the food quality and service does not match.

Google
SO GOOD!!! Wow. This was one the best waffles I've ever had. Their back patio is so cute in the summer months. We had the chicken and waffles, blueberry pancakes and the hash browns. Everything was better than I expected. Don't skip the housemade iced tea!

Google
I always hear how good the pancakes are here so finally got to give it a try! They definitely live up to the hype but surprisingly it wasn’t my favourite dish of all - the hash brown poutine exceeded any and all expectations Sounds so simple but the gravy along with the toppings was packed with flavour - it also tastes healthier than it seems (HIGHLY recommend this)

Google
We ordered the Apple crumble flapjacks, fried chicken and waffles and the Krispy Krunch French Toast. Everything was delicious, but the standout was definitely the pancakes, perfectly fluffy on the inside with a crisp, golden exterior.

Google
I absolutely loved the Safe Bet brunch and especially the Synonym Toast that was smothered with decadent dulce de leche, cream cheese frosting! Right from the first bite, it was so delicious, and I'm not even exaggerating. The coffee was aromatic, and the strawberry lemonade was refreshing. Service was amazing from the hostess right to our server. The School Restaurant is definitely an 11/10 for me! 😍😋

Google
Went with my dad for a late Father’s Day brunch. It was a super hot day and we were sad to learn there’s no AC (understandable cause it was all open) but also no fans. I would really love to see this place implement some box fans esp. on days as hot as we’re getting. The food was delicious and innovative and huge portions

Yelp
After hearing about School for YEARS, I was finally able to come here yesterday. We made reservations before coming, so we didn't need to wait long for a table. I wanted to try their chicken & waffles as it's always been noted as a staple on their menu. However, I saw their hasbrown poutine and could not resist! It is SO GOOD. The flavours remind me of a homey Thanksgiving meal. I would get this again hands down. Definitely recommend! The only reason I'm giving it 4/5 stars is because their menu is quite pricey.

Yelp
I see so many positive reviews, maybe we just hit a bad day. The restaurant itself is very nice, great decor, and the staff friendly. But we definitely disappointed with the food, especially with how expensive it is ($8 for a cup of coffee). The food was beautifully plated, but that was it. The pancakes were dense and heavy, as if they forgot to add baking powder, and difficult to cut. My wife's eggs were under cooked, and when we asked about them were told that's the way are supposed to be,"lightly scrambled". Wanted to like the place, but won't be back.

Yelp
Blueberry flapjack pancakes were a delight and loaded with blueberries that won't leave your taste buds. We got the classic chicken and waffles. Loved the sweet and spicy seasoning on chicken which was juicy and tender but did find bit over salty . Also in house sweet/spicy sauce Reason for 4 star rating because we waited for over 30 minutes to serve food . Service wasn't up to the bar compare to food which we highly recommend. Yelp
A good find during our brief trip to Toronto. The wait was not bad for having no reservations and the staff was super friendly. I don't think I've ever experienced such fluffy, huge pancakes. I also recommend getting their bacon on the side!

Yelp
Stopped by School to meet friends for a weekend brunch. This place is a staple in Liberty Village with its industrial interior and charming greenery patio with red tables. The service was efficient and friendly. We had the Super Cheesy Bacon French Toast and the Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Waffles. The French toast was indeed super cheesy, making it very savoury. The chicken and waffles, mixed with maple syrup, created a delightful sweet and savoury combo. A latte rounded out the meal perfectly. Overall, a great brunch spot in Liberty Village. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Food was delicious. Service was very good we were a bit indecisive when ordering server was patient and kind throughout the process offering suggestions and questions to clarify. Portions are large in my opinion got two plates to share and we were both full. Chicken was well seasoned and crispy. If you aren't a fan of sweets I would go with something other than the French toast as it's fairly sweet but not over powering

Yelp
Stopped by during a trip to Toronto. The service was great and food came out in a timely manner. I had an iced vanilla latte, which was good and did not water down quickly so the flavor was strong (if you are an iced coffee drinker you know). The biscuits were good and had a little kick to them. The chicken and waffles were decent. I was disappointed, however, because while the coating of the chicken had a lot of seasoning, the chicken itself did not have any.

Yelp
Let's start with the good stuff... Creativity (5/5): they serve you juice in lab beakers, that should tell you enough. Service (4/5): efficient, and the waitress kindly told me not to eat the apple on the table. And end with the not so good stuff... Food (2.5): was very underwhelmed, the chicken and waffles were small and too plain (you can get a more delicious and substantial serving from Cluck Clucks for $10 less). The Synonym Toast was pretty good, though a bit dry in the centre. The drinks we tried (Mango Tangerine and Peach Mint Lemonade) were average. Also be prepared to wait for a good 15+ minutes to be seated (more on weekends).

Yelp
The food and service at School was 10/10. I enjoyed a delicious brunch and carafe. The cheesy French toast was amazing and other worldly. Everything was super fresh and delicious.

Yelp
My visit here was amazing, we went for breakfast for my son's birthday, the food was great we enjoyed our meal and the fantastic service. That was a while ago, today I had a very urgent personal matter to take care of, I had visited a few places but I was turned down. Someone on the street suggested I ask The School House. After having been turned down several times I didn't have high hopes, Omgoodness they couldn't have been kinder and compassionate to me. Thank you so much to the very kind server, you turned my day around from what could have been a disaster to such a wonderful and feel good experience

Yelp
I was very lucky that my friends decided to brave the 30 minute line up before I arrived. The long weekend brunch line has always been a deterrent. Once inside however it was quite cozy with a cute aesthetic. Everything felt classic about this place - including Everybody Love Raymond playing on a TV. Music was loud enough to share Saturday night debauchery amongst friends. I shared the Synonym French Toast with my friend. The actual French Toast was not my favourite, but the toppings were good. The toast was a little too doe-y for me. I also had the hot chocolate - which was delicious :) Servers were really kind. This is not somewhere I'd wait outside for 30 minutes in winter for, but the rest of the year, for sure!

Yelp
Super cute restaurant located in the Liberty Village area, came here for lunch with a friend and loved it! They try to mimic a school and thought the theme was super cute. They serve brunch and lunch even on weekdays and all of the food was very generous in portion and so delicious. We were here during lunch and got served food really quickly. Would definitely come back!
google avatar

Yelp
Unfortunately we were let down with this one. The pancakes had 4 pancakes which came out cold. The restaurant was empty when we were there and our food came out cold. There was not enough toppings or syrup for the pancakes and the apple crumble was dry. The chicken was good but the waffle was cold and soggy. Unfortunately we won't be coming back here but hoping it was just an off day for us!

Yelp
Love going to school (no pun intended) for brunch with my girlfriends just to catch up and talk about boys. I always come here for their chicken and waffles and their blueberry pancakes is a must order. Their chicken and waffles come piping hot and the chicken is surprisingly juicy and you can tell the waffles are made fresh to order. Definitely a big fan of their blueberry pancakes. It's fluffy, light, and delicate all at the same time. The blueberry compote is not too sweet itself, but you can always add syrup for a bit of that sweetness to complete the meal. Always a line up on weekends, but wait times can vary 15-30 minutes.
google avatar

Mary M.

Yelp
Finally trying for years to get a seat here, finally made it waited 1 min to get a seat. Be prepared for long line ups for brunch on the weekend. Once inside there's a very small space to line up, the space is open that the kitchen is visible. You can see them cooking right there. The interior is filled with various school related statement pieces like books as lamp shades, apples on each table, letters etc. The menu was one page, you get option for savoury and Sweet. We opted to try crispy French Toast & Golden Hashbrown Poutine. The crispy French Toast was delicious, the peach and raspberry compote is what makes this extra delicious. For sweet lovers. The Hashbrown poutine on the other hand was a bit of a disappointment, the flavours were bland, the consistency of the mashed potatoes with runny eggs wasn't for me unfortunately. The vanilla and maple latte were delicious! The service was great, we were in and out within an hour.

Yelp
Absolutely mind blowing awesome! But also expensive. One of the best brunches in the city. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Yelp
Nice patio. Whole place has a school theme, which was nostalgic. They are part of the Pancake wars (unofficial). I haven't had all of the pancakes around town yet, to judge their rank, but the blueberry pancakes were fantastic. Other dishes were really good too. This is a solid brunch place.

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a weekday afternoon when my friends and I were in town this past summer. We were excited as the reviews for this place seemed to be quite glowing. We knew we had to order their black & blue flapjack pancakes to share, as well as getting our own individual entrees. I opted for their poutine dish and for a glass of their blood orange juice. The pancakes were fantastic and as every bit as beautiful as all the pictures showed them to be. The juice was good as well, but unfortunately, I thought that the poutine was a little bland. My friends both enjoyed their respective choices, so maybe it was just my dish that was a bit of a let-down. Overall, though, a fun place to come to for brunch.

Yelp
Went there for a brunch, was always very intrigued by this place because the wait was always hella long and the price is relatively high, such a hyped up place in distillery with cool concept. But turns out it is just a hyped up place. 1. The grapefruit juice: I don't know if serving in a beaker justifies how expensive this tiny glass of grapefruit juice is, I really don't get it, everything is very expensive and I usually pays a lot for good food 2. The sweet brunch items r just all TOO SWEET, they r like knocking ur teeth off kinda sweet, with nothing to balance it, like this blueberry pancake it is just syrup + sweet Jam + more sweet syrup, no one finished nearly half on our table. My crunchy toast was okay, I liked how crunchy it is but it is just WAY TOO SWEET. I literally can't. Can't believe how much I paid for this overrated brunch. Will not come back.

Yelp
Came in town for the Beyonce concert. This restaurant was on my 'must try' list and I am so glad I was able to experience School. I came early on a Sunday (before the brunch crowd). I was a single eater and was greeted warmly and seated quickly. The restaurant is on the smaller side but with a very lovely outdoors space. Many had so many yummy options and it was hard for me to choose, I ended up going with the French toast, great if you want a mix of sweet and savory. I would recommend this place to everyone!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a super cute school themed restaurant (as is the name) but they've gone above and beyond with the decor! My boyfriend's mango juice thing was served in a glass beaker. How cute is that?? The spinach dip was bomb, my boyfriend's savory French toast was really good, and my chicken and waffles were super tasty especially with the brown sugar butter and maple syrup they came with! The server was really nice and friendly too.

Yelp
Solid brunch spot in Liberty Village with a distinctive vibe. We came here on a Sunday afternoon after being told that the wait at two other nearby brunch places would be 2 hours. The wait here was a much more reasonable 25 minutes. The inside is fairly spacious with a distinctive grungy vibe, with loud 2000s music and a variety of art pieces and exposed-brick interior, very different from the more ""classy"" decor of other brunch joints. Service was super friendly and attentive despite how busy it was. I got the blueberry pancakes which were absolutely divine, super soft and pillowy pancakes and sweet and slightly tart blueberries, with a nice touch of maple butter and whipped cream on the side. We also got the mochas, which were great for the cold weather. All in all, highly recommend School for a delicious and unique brunch experience.

Yelp
Traveled to Toronto for NYE and was told I must try School! We showed up just before the rush and was quickly seated. 1. The music was A+ and nostalgic for those of us that grew up in the Brittney + Spice Girls era! 2. The overall theme is super cute and love it! 3. Our server Amy was great - she handled me being super picky and questioning everything lol. Thank you Amy for not getting upset and keeping a smile & great service throughout 4. My Vanilla Latte with a shot of baileys= superb 5. The little biscuit was yummy & flakey def delicious 6. Bacon was undercooked and I was unable to order my eggs overhard & specialize them so they came out too watery. 7. You cannot modify any of the meals so i really wanted the avocado toast with eggs on top and was unable to order this. PLEASE ADD THAT FOOD CANNOT BE MODIFIED TO THE WEBSITE Also, became aware while in Toronto that you had to pay for hot sauce I would have given this place 5 stars but being able to modify is HUGE! Overall service was good & my latte was

Yelp
School was an amazing brunch experience for us in Toronto so far. The food and service both were excellent. We do have GreenP parking lot right in front of the restaurant so its pretty convenient. We came here for Sunday brunch, weather was amazing!! They take first come first serve on weekends so be prepared to wait for your turn. We waited for about 30 mins. But it was all worth it! :) We had avacado toast and safe bet with unlimited coffee servings and I had a lemonade too! Everything was delish and I'm sad why we didn't find this earlier. U'll definitely see me here often .. haha! Thank you for amazing experience School.

Yelp
In town for the weekend, so my cousin and I decided to try school. I love the concept and the decor. When we arrived, there was a long line for a wait. Not a problem, it made me feel confident the food would be amazing. Once seated our waitress was great and gave menu suggestions. Everything this suggested was good. The menu items sounded amazing and looked beautiful but the execution could be better. The pancakes were fluffy but almost felt burnt on the bottom. It took so much to cut it all the way through (not the stack, just one pancake). The add on chicken was pretty pricey for only 2 pieces. To me it wasn't worth it. I think they could have given better pieces of chicken. Salad wasn't spectacular, nor was it bad. Just okay, I don't think it's a must. Overall I loved the atmosphere.

Yelp
Sunday brunch in downtown Toronto is the biggest challenge to find seating. I had called several places and my girlfriend had walked over to Mildred's Temple until we have finally found a spot to seat 7 girls for brunch last minute. Mildred's Temple quoted us 3+ hours wait time so fortunately my girlfriend held the table down here at School. We were seated outside on a very cold windy day inside their tent. The small heating lamp situated above us was not enough to warm us all up so we kept our coats on the entire time. My girlfriend and her boyfriend sat first before I arrived and the rest arrived minutes after. She explained in detail of her unusual conversation and order placement with the server. She said the server was unkind and made her feel very comfortable when she had to explain to her why she wanted to have both milk and cream for her coffee. She felt there was no need for her to explain and should be accommodated regardless if her request was outrageous or not. However my encounter with the server was much different from hers and I was greeted and my drink order (maple oat latte) was taken without questions and the server went over the menu options for my vegan diet. She was friendly and pleasant with me lol. Maybe she just recovered from a bad moment and snapped back As per the server, there were only two options I could have on the menu: the Millennial Toast or the Health 101 Bowl. She sold me on the Millennial Toast with a side of hashbrowns which looked more like mashed bake potato to me. I really enjoyed my toast and kale salad. The kids ordered Golden Russet Fries but it was heavily salted so the staff had replaced it with a new batch. I hope School will come up with more vegan options in the near future. Hence the one less star for this review for the lack of vegan options.

Yelp
One of my fav brunch spots in the GTA. It gets quite busy on the weekends but the patio is now open for the summer! Food is delicious & great for sharing both sweet & savoury dishes amongst friends.
google avatar

Yelp
Nothing better to welcome the weekend (and the warmer weather!) than a brunch with friends. With a mix of both sweet and savoury brunch items, we had a hard time deciding, but we went with the Chicken and Waffles ($22.5) and Bacon Cheddar Burger ($21.5). The quality and consistency of the food was very impressive, and the burger is one of the best I've had, period. The food was absolutely amazing but quite pricey for what it was, not to mention that we waited nearly 2 hours just to sit outside on the cold patio during the winter. It was a great experience but I likely wouldn't visit again since the wait was not very pleasant and we weren't allowed to stand inside while waiting in the cold weather. Our servers were super nice but the front of house staff was not very considerate to their customers, who wait hours in line and pay good money to eat there. I wish they implemented a reservation system because we ended up eating our first meal of the day well past 3pm due to the wait time.

Yelp
"I gotta go back... back... back to school again... Whoa! whoa! I gotta go! Back to school again..." Yes, yes I was singing this in my head as we approached one of my favourite breakfast spots in all of Toronto. Line was pretty long but we were standing strong & within 20 minutes were seated. It's such a cute & quirky place. Really feels like everyone working there loves it. Good vibes & good 80s -90s music to calm the hunger dragons. My guy went with his usual Cesar & I did The Fire Drill (Sombra Mezcal, Ginger Beer, Lime + fresh Pineapple Ginger juice). Super tasty & refreshing. For our mains, my guy went with the Golden Hashbrown POUTINE and I did the Millennial Toast (Artisan Sourdough Piled w/ Smashed Avocado, Artichoke & Cannellini Beans, Mushroom Bacon, Fresh Cilantro, Cherry Tomatoes + Served w/ Mixed Greens). Really good, hearty & fresh. Only wish they had added more Mushroom Bacon! We split a side order of Fried Chicken (amazing) and the Krispy Krunchy French Toast (Rolled in Snap, Crackle + Pop w/ Peach-Raspberry Compote, Sugar Dust + Brown Sugar Butter) which was to DIE FOR! Even better than their famous blueberry pancakes. Everything was wonderful & we left in such a good mood with belly's full. Perfect way to spend a Sunday morning! See ya next time, School!

Yelp
This might be the best breakfast/brunch place in Toronto. I tried the chicken and waffles, the buttermilk pancakes, and their soft-scrambled egg breakfast with hashbrowns, and they were all magnificent. Portion sizes are quite reasonable and will fill you up, so arrive hungry. The patio in the summertime is awesome, and the perfect place to enjoy eating your food. Will definitely be back to try some of the other menu items. Follow @foodpharaoh on Instagram for more food

Yelp
One of the best places for brunch in the city, definitely my go-to spot in Liberty village!
google avatar

Yelp
If you are ever in Toronto, highly recommend coming. The theme of this place is a school setting. From from the drinks to the food is named after something school related. Check it out !

Yelp
Found this place from TikTok. And the food was absolutely amazing. Didn't have a wait time to be seated so that was a plus as well. I also thoroughly enjoyed the music playing.

Yelp
The food at School was delicious!! I ordered eggs with hash browns and my food came with a salad. Also I ordered the mushroom gravy on the side and that mushroom gravy made my whole meal even more delicious! My wife ordered the blueberry pancakes and they were cooked to perfection and were nice and soft in the middle and nice and crispy on the outside and soaked up all that good maple syrup! All my friends who ordered their meals thoroughly enjoyed their food! Also the coffee was off the hook!

Angélique M.

Yelp
Unimpressive food and service. Really great location, beautiful patio. Good variety of sweet and savoury on the menu. Yummy coffees. I was honestly very unhappy with the service and the utter lack of accommodations. We were checked in on once or twice the whole time. It felt like all the servers were on the verge of quitting (which is usually indicative of the ownership or management). They were unapologetic about not having a high chair for my friend's baby and even though scrambled eggs are literally on the menu, they wouldn't sell us any as a side, the reason being "we don't sell scrambled eggs as a side." Why? I don't know. For 25 a whole dollars you can get the fried chicken and waffles! Which were subpar. "Meh" chicken, lame batter, no side and they don't even give you a waffle. Lol
google avatar

Nora S.

Yelp
The kinda school you want to go to on a weekend School themed restaurants with old movies playing on the screens & delicious food. I tried the Golden Hashbrown Poutine because that's what you do in Canada duh. For a sweet dish I got the Synonym Toast which is a think Challah with the right amount of dulce de leche & cream cheese frosting topped with Cinnamon Toast Crunch - You know I love me a dish with all textures & of course, coffee The breakfast here is a perfect way to start the day!
google avatar

Albert T.

Yelp
School is a terrific brunch spot in the Liberty Village. The ambiance, service and food are spot on. Must-try is chicken waffle and and the blueberry pancake. On the weekend, there is always a line but it moves briskly (less than 15 minutes)
google avatar

Marie N.

Yelp
Situated in the heart of Liberty Village, School is the place to go for brunch in the area, but be prepared for long lines. I highly recommend showing up 15 minutes BEFORE it opens to ensure you snag a spot. It's a classic Toronto joint for brunch, mimosas and lots of coffee. School serves both sweet and savoury items, such as Apple Crumble Cakes and Millennial Toast, to keep their patrons satisfied and coming back for more. The chicken and waffles are always a satisfying pick.
google avatar

Wilma R.

Yelp
Had the Black N' Blue Flapjacks and The Safe Bet. The pancakes are fluffy, and the Safe Bet was yummy and filling. The bacon was a little too oily but still tasted good, especially because it's sugar-cured. Ask for your hash to be really crispy! We had to put our names on a waitlist and waited for around an hour before we were seated.

Kate T.

Yelp
I love this place. The interior decoration is really cute, some of the juices are served in beakers. The pancakes are huge and very sweet so maybe split them. BEST ICED VANILLA LATTE WITH OATMILK EVER!! it's nice in the summer when you can sit outside. There's a parking lot across the street but you have to pay. Sometimes it's really busy and you have to wait for a table. Really fun brunch place for you with your friends. Breakfast poutine is pretty good, heavy though. Bacon French toast is yummy, good if you like sweet and salty.

Yelp
This is the first patio I visited after the lockdown. My friends and I went there around 1:20 and waited for an hour which is not too long as compared to other places. (They were only accepting walk -ins) We got the picnic table next to the plants so there were a lot of bees but the woman serving us was super sweet and found a new table near the enterance for us. However, we had to wait almost 45 minutes for our food to arrive. We ordered the passion fruit mimosa flask for 3 people and we all got around 3-4 glasses each. They were super tasty and refreshing. We also ordered the black and blue flapjacks to share and OMG they were probably the best pancakes I have ever had!! I would highly recommend trying these pancakes even if you don't have a sweet tooth. I got the buttermilk fried chicken and waffles and they were great as well. Their portion size is more than sufficient for a single person and the place is pretty as well. A great place to have brunch with your friends!
google avatar

Frances M.

Yelp
Everything is good! The sweet French toast hit my sweet tooth perfectly and the crispiness of the toast paired well with the raspberry peach compote. The brown sugar butter was the icing on the cake as it added another dimension of texture to the already fascinating dish. The staff overall is super friendly. The ambiance is awesome and super fun!
google avatar

Yelp
Visited for the first time for their weekend brunch. I went on a Sunday morning at 11, and surprisingly I didn't have to wait for a seat. Although I didn't wait for a seat, they seated us right next to their window-garage doors, the sun was super hot. The patio was open, however my friend preferred sitting inside, that's why we didn't ask to move tables. I tried their Super Cheesy French Toast with Bacon, not my typical order at brunch. It was sweet and savoury, and I enjoyed it. The only down side was that it was pretty expensive and their savoury menu was small, (7 dishes). My friend ordered the berry pancakes, she enjoyed it, and was surprised how many pancakes they gave and it was huge! $19 cheesy French toast $17 black and blue flapjacks Overall, I would come back to try their chicken and waffles.

Yelp
We came here for brunch, wait was less than 5 min, 2 moderately sized rooms for seating. Easy access to the streetcars. Nightmare before Christmas playing on the background, with the nostalgic school decor in the background. The big clocks that you eagerly stare at till school is over or till recess.. the books, chalkboards.. it is very fun and like I said, nostalgic! The server was very thorough, made sure to ask for our allergies/ diet preference. We opted for the super cheesy instead of the millennial because we don't need the vegan option and decided to change and wowwww. Wait was not too bad. So much cheesy. I'm glad we shared both. We didn't finish all the the pancakes! It was 5 stacked together with butter and shot of syrup on the side (not whiskey!). She made sure to always top up the coffee for us. They had $5 off their cocktails. Would come back again to try their alcoholic beverages next time!

Yelp
Good food but unfortunately ABSOLUTELY 0 flexibility on their "no modification policy" no matter the circumstance (big or small). We went on a weekday morning at 9:30 (ok busy but definitely not a full house) and wanted eggs for sides, but was told that they only do what's on the menu (eggs were not listed as sides) and so if the main dish I ordered didn't have eggs they cannot add egg. So... we decided to order their "Golden Hashbrown Poutine" which included a "Sunny Egg" - but because I was 9 months pregnant and cannot eat anything raw, I asked them to make sure the "Sunny Egg" was fully cooked and they kindly declined and said NO, a very very firm NO Lol.... Then they brought out the manager (even though I didn't ask for the manager) to tell me NO once again lol... it really didn't make sense to us because we really didn't think it's a lot to ask of them to just flip the egg over and fully cook it.... But apparently it's their "NO MODIFICATION" policy as they have a very small kitchen... Other than this little hiccup and inflexibility, the food itself and service was still good. While we understand policy is policy, it still kind of left a bad taste in our mouths even though they were nice about it... and it's 2021... you would think maybe you could be a little flexible especially when we didn't think it was a big request on a not super busy weekday morning... *I would recommend this place if you didn't need any modifications to food.* We ordered: - black n' blue flapjacks (the fluffy pancakes): delicious - millennial toast: delicious - golden hashbrown poutine: delicious (my non-pregnant friend ate the sun egg) - fresh juices: super yummy

Yelp
Ordered The Safe Bet - scrambled eggs was delicious, as well as the biscuit. Waited for 3 hrs on waiting list (in the meantime had drinks and apoetizers at another bar). Makeshift patio in parking lot was not bad. Good service. A bit pricy for what it is imo, but thats brunch in liberty village for ya. Wouldnt wait 3 hrs again unless spent thr waiting time walking around and going for snacks/drinks elsewhere

Yelp
This is the perfect brunch spot to impress your friends from out of town. The food is beautiful, and it is tasty. This place is usually bustling, so be prepared to wait. I recommend ordering sweet and savoury items for the perfect meal.

Yelp
Easily one of my favorite places for brunch in Toronto! One thing to keep in mind is that they don't take reservations for brunch. We went on Saturday and had to wait for 30 mins to get in, which was fine considering it was a nice day but may be annoying in the wintertime. Service was on point, and we weren't rushed to finish despite the long wait. The food is amazing! One of the best brunch options in the city, and the prices are very reasonable! Definitely coming back!

Yelp
The music for a brunch setting is really loud. It is difficult to speak over and the decibel reading averages above 80 which is a considered a loud environment and not healthy to be in. They state it is their brand, which seems like a poor excuse and bad customer service. Will not return.
