The East Nashville spot opened not that long ago, but the place looks straight out of the ‘70s with stained glass lamps, a wide lacquered bar, and overstuffed leather booths. The martini is pre-batched and kept in the freezer, so it can cool your bones on any scorching Nashville day, plus the green olives are massive and briny. "Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name. But sometimes you just wanna grab a Coors Banquet and fade into the background. Schulman’s is perfect for both. This neighborhood bar is peppered with vintage beer signs and tufted booths that are always full of people trying Fernet-Branca for the first time or wearing camouflage ironically. You can barely hear the music over the sounds of conversations and that’s the ideal backdrop for a low-key night of beers, patty melts, and darts with your buddies.
