"Vanderpump Rules stars Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz are closing their Franklin Village cocktail bar Schwartz & Sandy’s at the end of December after two years in operation. The duo announced the closure on November 25, 2024, in separate Instagram posts from their personal accounts, before sharing an official statement on Schwartz & Sandy’s account thanking staff and patrons for the years of support. People Magazine reports that the closure is linked to ongoing financial challenges and backlash around Sandoval’s cheating scandal, dubbed “Scandoval.”" - Rebecca Roland

"Schwartz & Sandy’s is the best of the Vanderpump Rules restaurants, which is like being the fastest walker at the Broken Foot Convention. This birds of paradise-filled “lounge” takes up a strip mall space in Franklin Village, a sleepy-ish neighborhood that’s perfect for aging improv actors and art history majors who shop used bookstores, but less so a gaudy bar run by reality TV stars. As a result, Schwartz & Sandy’s is almost always a ghost town. During a recent visit for dinner and drinks, we were the only people in the place for nearly two hours (except for a bored bartender). Even the solid lobster corn dogs can’t salvage what is an objectively depressing environment." - Brant Cox

"Most recently, that drama has moved over to Franklin Village's Schwartz & Sandy's, where a cheating scandal has engulfed one owner of the Vanderpump-adjacent restaurant (and of course it's all playing out on television). Co-owner Tom Sandoval says that restaurant is now struggling financially as well." - Farley Elliott

Our family traveled from Colorado to visit … REALLY hoping for the opportunity to see the owners. Unfortunately when we came neither of the Tom’s were there. Despite neither of them being there, our family still had a great experience! Hector (our server) was fantastic! Atmosphere was better than anything I expected! Phenomenal drinks and love the vibe! The only thing that could have topped off our experience is getting to meet the owners. Happy we made the trip.

Despite all the negative reviews on Schwartz & Sandy’s Lounge we had a good time here. The food was delicious. We had the sliders, fries and chicken with mash potatoes and broccoli. The vibe and atmosphere was so good inside the venue. It was a watch party for the show tonight and everyone looked like they were having a good time. Keep up the great work everyone.. After we visited the restaurant that night my wife was severely sick as she is allergic to mushrooms. We asked our server - Hector - if anything was cooked in truffle oil, which he replied no. But the hot fries which were cooked in truffle oil made her exceptionally sick for the next few days of our trip before we headed home to Australia. That was the worst for her waking up at midnight vomiting in the toilet for 3 hours. That was the only thing that put a bad experience for us at Schwartz and Sandy’s.

My wife is a huge fan of Vanderpump Rules, so we had to stop by while passing through. I’m really not sure why people post negatively about this place… The food & service were wonderful. The atmosphere is very nice & dark for a night out. Jade our hostess/server was awesome! And to put the cherry on top, Schwartz and Sandoval were there most of the night. HEADS UP, this is not 5-star elegant dining, they have a limited menu of BAR FOOD, which was all great. The Madagascar cocktail was phenomenal.

Cute little place! The drinks were good and we had the burger (modified to grilled cheese and it was amazing) & the strawberry Schwartz cake, it was delicious! Bartender Max was good as well! Met Schwartz & Sandoval and they were both very nice! We spoke with one of the other owners, Greg and he was so down to earth and kind.

We went in excitingly with an 8:30 reservation! No parking so we valet parked. The waiting are is cute! And the decor of the restaurant is beautiful! The dining room is spacious but in a… it’s missing something kinda way. So much empty area that makes the tables seem far apart in a weird way. The walkway looked 6-7 feet apart which makes the restaurant feel empty even if it wasn’t. The server comes and is happy but couldn’t pronounce the name of the food on the menu. Very small limited menu btw. Okay, no big deal. We order the ahi starter, the sliders, the cacio e pepe, salmon and tofu tiki masala, and two cocktails. This was by far one of the worst meals we’ve ever had. Lacking in presentation, lacking in flavor. The disappointment was real. We left at 9. Left it there and left starving. Went to get our car and the valet guy tried to hustle us. Just the cherry on top! We went, we saw… disappointed.

I wanted to hate this place…but it is a VIBE. I only popped in for a quick cocktail. Food wise the look of the menu was not for me at all but I ordered the fries - the chewy ketchup was esquite. I had the Fresh Start cocktail which was pretty refreshing. A bit like a green juice infused with vodka. A lot of the cocktails on the menu weren’t available though. I really liked the layout, decor and the music.

I came by with my husband for dinner after a hike on 5/24. The golden beet carpaccio, butternut squash Cacio E Pepe and Wendy Peppercorn cocktail hit the spot. As a VPR fan, it was great to meet and mingle with Tom Schwartz and Max Boyens while we were there! Max was working behind the bar when we showed up, he is an awesome bartender and it was cool to see him in action. Tom showed up around 9ish and immediately greeted guests, took photos, made drinks, ran food and helped the DJ set up. Everyone we met around the bar was super friendly and the vibe was very fun and relaxed. I wish I had taken more photos - there was A LOT of interesting decor to gaze at. Also, would love it if they released a Spotify (or whatever platform) playlist - their music was the best!! If we lived anywhere near CA we’d be regulars here.

I’m not a fan of any of the Bravo shows, but this place has great food and drinks. The ambiance is lovely and the wait staff are very friendly. Would definitely come back here the next time I’m in LA.
