Monica is absolutely amazing. Believe me, I did not want to cut off all my long hair and beard but I can honestly say she was the best I could have ever hoped for. She gave me comfort with her beautiful personality and her skills and I’m a bran new man. Too bad I’m a let it grow guy rather than a hair cut guy or I’d constantly be getting her to cut and style my hair. I had so much fun during my visit and it’s all a credit to Monica. Definitely request Monica. Absolute legend. I wish I could give her more stars as 5 stars is simply not enough. I would trust her to give me a haircut in a hurricane.

Monica, has always gone above and beyond when cutting my children’s hair! She does my son and also now my daughter’s hair. I was so impressed that she cuts my hair now, she is that good! Monica M was the stylist for my son she did an amazing job fixing a hack job he got at another place. She was very qualified she did a great job and made him feel comfortable while she did it… he left with a huge smile and he said “ this is the best hair cut i have ever had” and he’s not wrong, we had been tons of places… the last 2 years have been so frustrating he actually just stopped cutting his hair all together. thank you Monica M at scissors and scotch for being so amazing at your job!

Best haircut I had after a long time. Exactly as I was hoping for. Quang did the best work, definitely master of the art. Had the Old Fashioned drink, it was amazing as well. Best for Scissors and Scotch both. Worth the money. I am going back again next few weeks later. I figured having a membership makes it cheap for me as I would be only coming here next.

Vivian is the best at what she does. I’ve tried other barbers around Austin and even compared to those in Houston, Vivian’s style, attention to detail, and knowledge of the craft is second to none. When I want/need my beard styled, sculpted, or just trimmed, Vivian’s the only one I trust.

As the name suggests, my first time going to a salon with a full-service bar. This place is barbering at the next level. This was my first time and I got the ten year cut or something. The names are confusing and resonates with age rather than styling and service. My stylist was patient enough to understand my needs and she did a great job as well. She explained the services, products and prices. I chose the 10 year cut and it took 20 mins. My stylist was always ears to my changes. I also got a complimentary drink - long island iced tea and it was great. I am planning to purchase the membership if the service and ameneties are going to be this great!

Been going here for a few years now. Absolutely love the service. Kate G, Katy J and Quang are all excellent finds when it comes to locating a quality barber. The eucalyptus hot towel and hot lather neck shave are definitely a bonus that gets you in a great mood to face your week. Fantastic assortment of alcohol. From simple barbering to facial hair sculpting, eyebrow trimming and even nose and ear waxing, this place has anything you want, including a full hot lather shave. My only hesitation in giving this place a review is that it will make them book up faster. I just wish my hair grew faster so I had an excuse to go more than once a month.

I have been seeing the same hair stylist for quite some time and on my son's recommendation I decided to try Scissors and Scotch. I am very happy with the cut and service. I passed on the mid day drink but will plan a late afternoon for my next appointment.

Having my hair butchered multiple times. And they expected me to pay still. I told the owner/manager to call me. Worst haircut I've gotten since I was 12 I wouldn't take my kids here.

Was 5 minutes late due to traffic and even called to give them a courtesy heads up. Although I'm a long time customer. My hair is very short. I get a buzz cut that takes 10 minutes to cut and they were not flexible. Found a barber down the road and got in within 10 mins. Poor customer service Will not be returning and do not recommend.

To start with, they have variable rates. The price varies with the "stylist" you choose. Second thing is that they have the worst barber chairs that I have ever sat on, had a real stiff back while I was under the hot towel on my face. Speaking of the hot towel, they stink, imagine smelling a nasty towel while your back is hurting. To top it off my so called stylist had long nails which pricked my scalp every time she ran them through my hair. For a $75 haircut, this place is just abysmal. Do yourself a favor and go to your local barber.

We love Scissors and Scotch! My husband sees Scotty and his haircut is always perfect. I took my father in law last week for the first time and (I forgot her name) did a great job on Ralph's haircut. She was perfect and made Ralph feel comfortable at relaxed. It's always nice to take a seat at the bar and have a cocktail or beer after the haircut.

Very easy from start to finish but also all of my haircuts there have been great. Shout out to both Shawn and Kaitlyn who I highly recommend.

He gets in the zone so is not very talkative but Jamie there gives one of the best haircuts I've been able to find anywhere in Austin... I used to go to the downtown salons for reference

I'm always early for my haircut appointments now that they involve alcoholic beverages. The staff here is great, especially my hair stylist/barber/haircut-connoisseur Scotty.

Easy to book online- that's what got me here. I made a substantial change in my hairstyle, and the dude worked with me to nail down the details, and I left really happy. I'm not super chatty, my barber got the hint, and wasn't overly gregarious. I was offered a drink after my cut, which I declined, but the bar looked nice enough.

Bridget was amazing and so kind! She gives a great men's haircut. She really took the time to understand exactly what I wanted. She even taught me how to style my new haircut correctly. Only complaint was the bartender who would rather have conversations with people instead of serving those waiting for their drinks. Other than the rude bartender this is an amazing place to get your haircut!

The communication received from Melissa and her coworkers exceeded expectations. After being left with a butchered haircut from a previous barbershop, I had intended to have all my hair off and start over. Having thinning hair and receding hairlines, it's been changing to maintain and keep what I have left. After explaining my situation to Melissa, she was surprisingly able to transform a disaster cut into a exceptional recovery cut without cutting everything off. I'm am very pleased with the outcome from what she had to work with. I will definitely be returning here for future services and recommend this place for your next cut and/or salon service.

I loved this first experience... booked my husband for the 25 year and beard edge up. With tip it was $106 (I left a $20 tip). The stylist name was Charles and my husband said that he did a great job... and he would go back to him again. My husband's beard grows pretty crazy and quickly and so we plan to get the membership (For his hair) and to make sure he maintains his chia pet beard (haha). With every service you get one free drink (they have a decent size bar) and with membership you get 2 free drinks. You also get a % off your tab when you come in (w/o getting a hair service). The bartender was super nice (Shout out to Saundra!) and over all it was very chill. Everybody was wearing their mask and it was quite clean as well. This place is a tad expensive, but if your in the market for a boujee service- this is a great place. Worth the money and self-care.

My boyfriend got his haircut here today and the customer service was great and the ambiance is so cute! I had a Bloody Mary while I waited on him and his hair cut looks nice and was only $40! And the drinks were included in the service! 10/10 recommend!

I will avoid using names, but I seem to have a similar experience with others. My first trip was incredible. My haircut was better than I expected, my old fashioned was top notch and the price was not bad either. However, on my second visit.. I showed the same picture to the same hairdresser as last time. She critiqued the haircut that I was wanting and was very unprofessional as if this was "her" haircut, instead of what the client requested. I explained to her that this was similar to before, and what she did specifically to which she argued "I would not have done it like that", however as she did. When she was "done" she asked what I thought. I did not approve, however I simply resolved to be polite and only asked that she blend my hair with my beard a bit better... to which she behaved as if I was horribly putting her out. Afterwards, when I visited the bar, the bartender was busy with a solicitor so I waited patiently for their conversation to be done. She asked what I would like to which I replied with my scotch of choice.. "neat". There was less than half a dram left in the bottom of the bottle, and rather than grabbing another bottle.. I settled with what I was given. The conversation was pleasant, however. I have resolved myself to never visit this location again, and went home to pour my own "proper dram" as well as to only schedule appointments with my own hairdresser all the way over in Houston whenever we go to visit family on a monthly basis.

Not much to like about this place. If you wear a mask you'll likely be the only one (one staff member had one on) the "barbers" are amateurs at best, and the services are poorly designed. Haircut was ok - I'd recommend you head to Skinny's instead.

I've gone to this place twice and both times, it's been a negative experience. The experience itself was decent - atmosphere is fine, chairs are comfortable enough, but the people who cut hair here must just lack skill. The first girl who cut my hair (sorry guys, I don't remember names, I think Amanda?) royally fucked it up. I have a pretty basic haircut - it's literally just a Mohawk. I just asked her to buzz the sides of my head, she buzzed straight into my Mohawk on one side, so its no longer a straight line on one side. I decided to go back and give it one more chance a month or two later, since it's a convenient location. I had a different hairdresser this time, a male. Before this dude even started cutting my hair, I was done. This man sprayed so much water on my head that it was literally running down my shoulders. Like SO much. I had to ask for a towel to get the water out of my ears. Then he goes to cut my hair, acknowledges that it's crooked on one side. I told him it happened last time I came here - a comment he didn't even acknowledge. But instead of making my Mohawk more narrow to correct the line, like I asked, he just cut it as if the previous hairdresser hadn't taken a chunk out of it. I now have a 18" Mohawk, and a 3" patch of hair sticking out the side of it at all times. It looks absolutely awful, and would take ages to grow out enough to match the rest. Avoid this place - it's heavily overpriced and I've had more skilled hairdressers at cheap "Super Cuts" type businesses.

I am a fan of this place. Upscale service but without emptying your pocket out. Tried it on a whim. Came in a had amazing service from the time I entered to the time I left. I was paired with Jerome and he gave one of the best haircuts i have ever had. I opted into the 25 year service to see what it would be like and it did not disappoint. Of course they have an amazing bar with decent selections. Your first drink is complementary. Brittney was our bar tender and she was very personal. Honestly it made me want to just sit here all day. For being two days open and swinging by just to give this place a chance, i will be making this place a regular routine. Give it a shot. It will be worth your time and money.

Vivian is great! The best haircuts I've had in a decade. Working with her is easy, and she gives solid advice for upkeep. Overall, the place has a friendly and fun atmosphere. Keep up the excellent work!

They don't use anything over a 3 on a trimmer which is weird, but they were able to get my haircut right still. Little pricey, but was overall a good experience and haircut.

Had a great experience here. My wife surprised me with a head treatment for my birthday. Emery was rad! Great conversation, great job on my whole melon. I'll be coming back for sure. Not to mention a complimentary spirit while I wait. I chose a rye, neat.

My favorite haircut experience I've ever had. Is it a bit pricey? Sure. But is it worth it? 100%. Got my haircut by Jacquie and i couldn't be more happy with it. First barber experience in Austin since quarantine and they temperature check/require hand sanitizer as soon as you enter. All employees were wearing masks. Overall a great experience. Complimentary drink comes with it and I got to enjoy a drink while waiting. Definitely recommend. Who can turn down a free drink ;)

I was thinking about booking a haircut for my son who is in desperate need for one but was hesitant due to corona virus concerns. I am thankful I have not booked. I asked a friend where to go for a cut and he mentioned this place had opened back up. Yay!!! Finally, normalcy!!! However, he shared some concerns. I had hoped they were taking more precautions to protect their staff and clients, but clients are not wearing masks and the same cape is being placed on client after client. This place just seemed to him like a breeding ground for coronavirus at this point so I will have to wait until a salon opens that is taking TDLR and CDC recommendations seriously. If you want coronavirus, book here! Otherwise, my son just wants a haircut and it can wait.

I'm giving two stars because...it's not always terrible. I've been going here for 1 year, purely because I live around the corner. It's average at best - but typically the hairdressers are lovely. Amanda(i think her name was) was amazing. Stacy on the other hand...who cut my hair today was the rudest person I've ever encountered during a haircut... I won't be returning. $26 for 5 minutes of bad attitude and a shaved sideburn..

This is hands down one of the best places as a men's salon. Truly I have had membership as several other similar concepts but there is always something lacking wether it be over the top customer service with great clips style cuts or vice versa. But Scissors and Scotch is the total package amazing customer service ran by the operations manager Brittany, amazing five start bar service under the leadership of Sarah and top notch bartenders like Skylar it's truly an amazing place that can cater to all of your needs. I suggest the two stylist's Lena and Emory I have never once gotten a haircut as good as what they provide and the due diligence on there part to make sure your satisfied is key. If your looking for a great haircut or straight razor shave check this place out, and have a drink and make your new regular bar.

I seriously think I may have gotten the best haircut of my life from Lina here at S&S. This place is friendly, offers great features like in-house bar and free drink with service, memberships, masculine decor, and talented stylists that use an approach unique to their business. I was skeptical at first, but I'm convinced that a trip to Scissors & Scotch is one of the few luxuries I will afford myself for the foreseeable future.

Just posted this review on the wrong scissors and scotch but will do again......I went in to get some trimming and cutting done on my mullet in process. Lauren P. Was my stylist and I couldn't be more happy. She made sure I got exactly what I wanted, gave me suggestions on what she thought would look best and took extra time to make sure everything was perfect (as it can be, I mean its a mullet). And the drinks are cheap!

I'm giving two stars because the lady who cut my hair was a nice person. My hair looks completely ridiculous. I got a hairdresser who didn't know how to do a fade. She used scissors almost the whole time and really messed it up :( Update: I'm going to bump it up to three stars because of their understanding and willingness to fix the issue above.

Hello, I received your info from the manager Brittney. Yesterday was my first time getting my hair cut with y'all and it was THE WORST EXPERIENCE WITH A BARBER/STYLIST IN MY LIFE. Let's start with attitude from the very beginning. From the moment I took off my hat, the employee, I believe her name is Stacey, looked annoyed and irritated. I didn't realize it until further into my "hair cut" but she has no idea how to cut hair! She starts by asking how I style my hair which she eventually would ask over and over and over. I finally replied "I DONT KNOW UP AND TO THE LEFT? I don't know how you want me to answer that question".... She continued to berate me for never having my head in the correct position and evidently I was slouching (I was not) literally saying at one point "if you don't keep your head where I tell you, you're going to get a line....I'm scoopin with this clipper and if I get a line I don't want to be correcting that". She continued to tell me over and over "who told you to wear your hair like this, it's not going to work, IM NOT A MAGICIAN"...at this point I almost got up and left in the middle of a haircut! I've cut my hair for over 20 years and until about a year ago I grew the top out and it needs to be cut by a professional. I called and asked who would give the best fade and was directed to her. I LITERALLY CAME HOME AND FIXED CORNERS AND EDGES ALL OVER MY HEAD because she used a comb and clippers which you CANNOT GET AN EVEN FADE LIKE THAT! She continued asking the same question over and over and over....who told you to wear your hair like this because it's not working. Wow I'm blown away at this point. SHE OBVIOUSLY ONLY KNOWS HOW TO CUT SHORT HAIR. Blow drying my hair, she BURNT the top of my head and I had to flinch and move and say "ouch that's hot"....NOT ONE RESPONSE. I hesitantly asked her to fix some spots and she said "well that's a full haircut" (35 min into the 45 min haircut and we still hadn't shampooed, shaved my neck etc...she attempted to fix things but it's blatantly obvious she has no idea what she's doing! She then offers to shampoo and I said we can skip that I didn't want to spend one more min in this chair. She proceeds to place HOT shaving cream on my neck (also no warning) and again I flinched....nothing from her. Above ALL ELSE, my hair line where I part it is now practically in the middle of my *#^¥ing head and it looks ridiculous. My partner was in there last weekend and while his haircut also wasn't stellar, his stylist (gay black gentleman) was also not friendly my partner said and he also will not go back to him. So I don't know what kind of place y'all are running over there but this is the level of service I'd expect from super cuts or a Walmart! I will also say that the moment we walked out into the lobby the stylist was polite as ever and that could only be because the manager was sitting there. If she had ANY PERSONALITY and or kindness during the haircut I prob wouldn't be writing this email. However, she was extremely rude, unprofessional, and butchered my hair. What a joke. Id never say someone should be fired but she does NOT fit there and I'll be going elsewhere as will my partner.

My future son-in-law booked an extravagant visit for himself prior to his wedding.This is a man who never indulges himself and he was really looking forward to a little pampering. His appointment was a nightmare. He brought a picture of himself with the hair cut he wanted, but first she argued with him about how he parts his hair, telling him he doesn't part his hair on the side he told her. Apparently she did indeed cut his hair the way he wanted, and the haircut is pretty good. On to the shave. He has a beard and mustache, but wanted it trimmed up and his cheeks nicely shaved. His stylist, before shaving anything, cut his cheek with a straight razor and then disappeared. He had to flag someone down to pay, and he tipped his stylist well, and to add insult to injury, they didn't even offer him any scotch. Very disappointing for him, and for his family who wanted him to have an amazing experience. I would give zero stars if I could.

I love this place! The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is friendly. When you arrive you're greeted with a covid friendly smile behind the mask, but they're definitely smiling, you can see it in their eyes. Your cut will be top notch and the buzz of the town. If you want a great haircut, someone you can pour your heart out to and confide in ...go with Jacquie, though I'm sure all would be great listeners and give a great cut. After your cut, you can be pampered more with their additional services (all legal) and even better is they buy you a drink! Actually it comes with your cut so...I mean come on. And honestly the bar is fun. Bros, it's about time we were treated like the ladies in a hair salon and this is it! This place is awesome, do yourself a favor and book your appointment and never look back. You're welcome :)

This place is AMAZING! The staff is friendly, and fun. The drinks are delicious, and priced great. The stylist are highly trained and thorough in their services. And the memberships they offer make this relaxing experience extremely affordable. Highly recommend!

I was super excited to go here for my first time. Let me tell you ! Okay so first called and booked an appointment for a haircut and beard trim right , scheduled it and everything. I get there and tell my stylists what I want a simple undercut with a 1 faded to a 1/2 she looks at me and says okay , gives me a solid 1/2 all the way through , then asked if we were doing my beard. They had messed up with the schedule and didn't put me down for a beard trim which is really the main reason I came in. As I'm getting ready to pay , the guy in front of me is paying and the receptionist is sure nice to him and offers him to grab the complimentary drink , not with me she tells me the total ask if I want to leave a tip and says okay have a nice day. Super bummed out , honestly won't ever go here again. Didn't get a beard trim or the correct haircut I wanted and didn't even get offered the complimentary drink ....
