Yelp
The food was good, the service was horrific! The server, Kevin was super slow, pushed back from the outset, terrible customer service, took half an hour to bring us our check. We were a party of 10 and he clearly was not excited about serving us. He told me he was doing his best and I should appreciate him.

Yelp
Our dinner at Scoma's was the perfect way to wrap up a romantic trip to San Francisco. Located right on the waterfront, this iconic seafood spot captures that old-school, traditional dining charm that's hard to find these days. From the moment we walked in, it felt special--classic service, white tablecloths, and a warm, welcoming vibe. We started with the beet salad, which was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully balanced with citrus and creamy cheese. For my main, I couldn't resist the "Lazy Man's" Cioppino--a hearty, rich tomato-based seafood stew loaded with crab, mussels, clams, and tender fish. Every bite was packed with flavor, and I loved that they did all the hard work by cracking the crab for you. My wife had the Pasta Diplomatica, and it was equally impressive--a decadent mix of shrimp, scallops, and clams in a creamy sauce that was indulgent without being too heavy. The setting is quintessential San Francisco, with gorgeous views of the Bay and a cozy, elegant atmosphere that makes any occasion feel special. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and it's clear they've been perfecting their craft for decades. For anyone visiting San Francisco, Scoma's is a must. Whether you're a seafood lover or just looking for a memorable dining experience by the water, this spot delivers. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town!

Yelp
Scoma has been a must-visit for me whenever I am visiting San Francisco. Do yourself a favor and just walk past Fishermans' Warf and all the restaurants on Jefferson St. and head down the little side street that takes you to Scomas on the bay. This is a sea-to-table restaurant. It does not get any fresher than this. We ducked in for a bowl of their famous clam chowder and a cocktail to both get out of the rain and make a reservation for the next day. We scored seats at the bar and were provided with two perfect vodka martinis followed by their clam chowder and sourdough bread. This chowder was a classic New England chowder chock full of clams and just a bit of potato. I've had other "authentic NE chowdah" that was heavy on the potato and lite on the clams. Not this offering! Our lunch the next day was a continuation of our most excellent experience. We arrived early and enjoyed a heavy pour bloody at the bar. We ordered grilled and raw oysters for our appetizers. The grilled were Rockefeller-type Pacific oysters, with spinach, brandy-garlic aioli, and topped with Asiago cheese. My oysters on the half-shell were a combination of the sweetest oysters I have ever devoured since my last trip to PEI in Canada. Our mains included salmon and their mixed grill entrees. The Pacific king salmon arrived grilled perfectly with potatoes, pickled cucumbers, and horseradish. The mixed grill included salmon, black cod, and halibut. This was another perfectly grilled entree. We did order the Trefethen Riesling wine which paired perfectly with our entire meal. Many servers have been there for years and they will expertly move you through your meal. You will not be rushed but there is always a crowd at the bar and queued up outside.

Yelp
Recommended by my godfather, Scoma's is a San Francisco institution. I was having a hard time deciding on what to order, so we started with the calamari. It was very good. When our server came to take our order, he told us of a special: sanddabs. What is a sanddab you might ask. Well I would describe it as a small flounder. Served with lemon butter and capers, it was delicious. Scoma's was a great dining experience, in a very classic setting. If you to wait for a table, take the opportunity to wander around a bit. If you go to the end of the pier, you can see the "bait barges", with hungry birds looking through the netting.

Yelp
Ambiance: date night but also has bar seating Service: attentive FOOD: Oysters a la Scoma ($26) - it has shallots, asiago cheese, spinach, paprika, and a brandy garlic aioli! SO GOOD I love how the oysters are plump and juicy. This is a perfect appetizer to get Truffle & Parmesan Fries ($17) - can't go wrong here, I'm a sucker for truffle fries Roasted Dungeness Crab ($72) - when it's crab season and if you love crab, get this Pasta Diplomatica ($49) -scallops, shrimp, clams, and mushrooms in a cream sauce! Super fresh seafood, one of my favorite pastas!! the scallops were cooked so perfectly And you have to end with their tiramisu cake and latte!

Yelp
So glad we finally tried out a San Francisco classic! Had some errands to do in the city so figured a good chance to try Scoma's for lunch. Didn't know there was valet parking so paid too much for a spot down the street. Thankfully Fisherman's Wharf wasn't busy due to the rain and maybe because it was a Wednesday. Greeted by host when we walked in and by bartender when we sat down at the bar. Given menus and water & offered to order a drink. Got there early so not very busy but more started showing up. Nice classic decor and music. Chairs at bar are comfortable. We both choose off the lunch menu and we're satisfied. Portions were plenty and given fresh sourdough bread. Isaac the bartender was super, made great drinks and good conversation.

Yelp
I made a reservation for 5:45pm on a Saturday night during restaurant week. We were seated immediately at a table with views of the water. Despite being there for restaurant week, we opted for items on the regular menu. I started with the clam chowder which they are known for! For entrees, we split the fish and chips and the shrimp pasta. We honestly could have just split one entree bc they give you large portions! Definitely makes it worth the price tho! I really enjoyed their blood orange margarita - not too sweet and fairly alcohol forward. Their cocktails are pre mixed tho so hard to adjust to specifications. We had a great time overall! I now understand why Scomas is one of the only restaurants in fisherman's wharf where locals frequent!

Yelp
I went to Scoma's to celebrate my friend's birthday with a group of about 10 girls. Unfortunately, the good food and good service was overshadowed by the fact that all 3 of us that ordered the linguine con vongole got food poisoning that evening. I called the restaurant the next morning to let them know and they said this never happens and "normally food poisoning doesn't kick in that fast." Like I'm sorry? I've drink spoiled milk before and felt sick within the next 12 hours. Also, the fact that it was 3 of us that had the exact same dish and we were the only ones to get sick just seems suspicious. I was really upset by this response and the fact that our whole table had spent $700+ to get food poisoning. I spent $90 on my portion of the bill to not even be able to eat my leftovers because they were filled with the food that made me sick. The restaurant made nearly no effort to remedy the situation. That being said, I wish I could give this place a higher review. The food was honestly good tasting and the drinks were really good. The waitress and rest of the service staff were super nice. If a bunch of us hadn't gotten food poisoning/the restaurant remedied the situation, this would be a totally different review.

Yelp
Sat down here for lunch and felt lucky we didn't need a reservation to sit due to the high reviews we saw it received on Yelp. We were seated towards the back of the restaurant, right next to the door to the outside which was opening and closing quite frequently. We wished they sat us at any other empty table so we did not have to deal with that. We ordered the lunch deal to share, and picked the Louise crab salad and the clam chowder. We were also given complimentary bread for the chowder. The food was delicious, especially the clam chowder which had great flavor. The louie salad was interesting with dressing that was very thick but rather lackluster. Overall I would definitely recommend others visiting to try Scoma's out!

Yelp
This is a hidden gem nestled in such a touristy area! I came here with a colleague and left extremely satisfied. The service here is exceptional, they did a great job at explaining the menu and we felt very well taken care of. We ordered the clam chowder, wagyu bistro filet, and linguini con vongole as our meal and a small bites platter for dessert. The clam chowder was creamy and the bits of clam were generous. It tasted so delicious with the complimentary sourdough bread that they serve. The wagyu bistro fillet was slightly overcooked but still very tender. The sauce & mushrooms it was served with were delicious. The noodles in the linguini con vongole were cooked perfectly al dente but I wished the pasta had a bit more flavor. It had a generous amount of clams but the noodles itself lacked flavor and tasted like butter noodles. The only part of the meal that I wasn't too big a fan of was the dessert. The small bites platter consisted of biscotti, cannoli, and a truffle. The biscotti & cannoli were underwhelming. I felt like the desserts at Trader Joe's tasted better. The truffle was decadent and a great ending to the meal! Overall I'll definitely be back when I'm in this area. It's one of the better seafood restaurants in the area :)

Yelp
A hidden gem, located on the water. We had a great time at Scoma's, as all of our entrees were mainly seafood and extremely fresh. Our waiter was exceptionally kind and accommodating. Our food came out rather quick and was delicious. Definitely try their grilled salmon, if you are a salmon lover. Their pastas are also really good and hearty. I definitely will be back next time I'm in the SF area.

Yelp
Although Scoma's has been around since 1965, it was a new and delicious discovery for me. I visited 2 times over a 3-day stay in San Francisco, with a 3rd visit planned until plans changed. Luckily I was staying within walking distance. Located next the Fisherman's Wharf on its own small pier (Al Scoma Way) where some smaller fishing boats dock, it even has valet parking along the same pier, although they do get full. Scoma's has about 6 dining rooms including 3 bars, although I think only one has a bartender. There's also a large private room on the uppermost level, plus some outdoor tables. Some of the rooms are plastered with photos, some signed, of celebrity diners from over the past decades. All rooms have some sort of water view. I was enamored with Scoma's weekday (M-F until 4 pm) $37 two-course lunch menu, which I ordered from both times. Starter choices are their famous clam chowder, Caesar salad or roasted beet salad. Main choices are a shrimp pasta (pasta type varies), a sautéed fish (type varies) with mushroom spätzle or Dungeness petite Crab Louie. I had the chowder, beet salad, fish (Pacific snapper when I visited) and the Crab Louie. The "petite" Louie was still a generous portion, as were all the dishes. As a side, I also ordered the crispy (fried) zucchini with marinara. Everything was delish. The bread, which they replenish, is also great. For my 3rd visit that did not materialize, I was planning to order off the regular menu, probably their "Lazy Man's" cioppino (which I saw on another table), their shellfish sauté or the sand dabs that were available during my visit. Service was excellent, very friendly and pretty attentive, from the hosts to the wait staff to the bussers. I caught a glimpse of the "Calamari Club", a group of retired local male dignitaries, all bedecked in coats and ties, who meet at Scoma's every Friday. An institution at an institution. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Another lovely night at Scoma's - this time for my dad's 70th birthday! We enjoyed sweet water oysters and clam chowder yet again, crab mac and cheese (SO yummy), and a seafood linguini. The staff was all so friendly and gave my dad a free dessert for his birthday. The food was delicious and the portions were great for the price!

Yelp
3.5-4 stars. We returned for restaurant week to support local businesses. Very happy Scoma's is still here. We valet parked our car on site and went in to enjoy the 4 full course meal for $75 pp. Our wait staff was very nice, we've never experienced bad service here and Kevin took good care of us. We started off with my fav sourdough bread with butter. We shared the fried calamari and fried zucchini. Both very good. The clam chowder wasn't as good as I remembered in past visits but it was OK. My crab louie salad was huge. I mean huge so that 2-3 can easily share and Full of crab strands and several large shrimp and a ton of veggies. The dressing was good too. Ended my meal with a tiramisu with great rum drenched cake but too much soft whipped cream that looked like it was melting. Our BFF and my hubby had the seafood pasta and liked it too. We all ended up taking leftovers home. I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Food was 10/10! The dungeons crab is now my new favorite from here. It was New Year's Eve and they were on top their game. Our water cups weren't empty once. They sure did not disappoint! Our server Sean was amazing!

Yelp
I was really looking forward to this meal but it was a bit underwhelming. The manager was on the phone when I walked in so it took more than five minutes to be seated. Then the waiter, didn't seem so friendly when I asked about the menu and when he served me the food. Towards the end however it did get better. I was looking forward to the clam chowder but it disappointed. When it was served, there was already a film on the top, I found a piece of the seafood shell in the dish, and then the seafood wasn't properly cleaned as I had the sandy feeling when I chewed a few pieces. The main entree was better. The fish was cooked well and the spaetzle and mushroom going on under the fish was very flavorful.

Yelp
My first visit to Scoma's left a lasting impression, largely due to our delightful and witty waiter, Sean. From the moment we sat down, his warm demeanor and engaging humor instantly put us at ease, transforming what could have been a nervous experience into one filled with laughter and enjoyment. He took great care in curating recommendations that perfectly aligned with my dietary restrictions, his attentiveness making me feel truly valued as a guest. Throughout the evening, I was also grateful for my friend Mandz, who skillfully shared the city's fascinating history, enriching our dining experience with stories that breathed life into the surroundings. Sean's thoughtful suggestions went well beyond my expectations, introducing me to flavors I had never dared to try before, and each dish was a delightful surprise. As the evening wrapped up, I couldn't help but reminisce about the wonderful meal and the exceptional service we received. I will undoubtedly make it a point to save room for the exquisite Tiramisu on my next visit, as I already know it will be the perfect sweet ending to what promises to be another unforgettable experience!

Yelp
I have visited Scoma many time, but recently, visited on 12/23/24 and had to make reservation when I got there due to their website not allowing a reservation before 8PM. Made reservation at front desk, and waited 35 minutes before text sent table was ready. Tall & overweight (Boss-girl attituted) woman there refused my reservation due to being one person, I did not have my guest arrive at that moment. Was not allowed to even dine at the bar!!! After many year, never going to dine there again and will highly encourage to have other to not dine there either!!!! New hobby now.... going to put this review on every site on internet that has a review!!!!

Yelp
Lunch Special served until 4:00 with three appetizer and main courses 37.00 plus tip. Doubles as an early supper. I chose cup of clam chowder which is satisfying as it is thicker than Boston Clam Chowder. My snapper in butter lemon sauce was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The bed of spatzel was a bit greasy. the peashoot salad was a surprise addition to balance the meal. Service old school. Waiter thanked me by name, added courtesy. I would have liked to sit in bar but was not offered that option by hostess.

Yelp
When visiting San Francisco, we wanted an old-school authentic seafood experience, and Scoma's did not disappoint. A wood paneled affair on the water, Scoma's is manned with professional waiters and wall to wall photographs of celebrities who have dined here, both local and national. We were very excited to begin our lazy louche lunch. The seafood was delectable across the board. We started with cold crabmeat cocktail, which was bursting with fresh crab meat and an auspicous culinary disembarkment. The clam chowder was meaty and filling, but the apex was the sauteed cod, which was an achingly tender melt in your mouth affair, by far the finest cod I've had. Kelly had the Petrale Doré, which was also good but - sauteed in a light breading - paled in comparison to the ethereal cod. We wrapped up our meal with some of the best gelato I've ever had. The cocktails and wine were similarly excellent, and the afternoon lunchtime vibes lazy and anonymous. Come visit and lose yourself in a bowl of chowder and a bottle of Chablis.

Yelp
Scoma's! Enough to be said! Let's Go! Waiters in white coats giving impeccable service- serving great food for decades! I've been coming here for many years when I came with my parents. Always a memorable Experience! Feels like Al Scoma is still in front welcoming his Guests! Free Valet Parking!! Tonight we came for dinner with a reservation after the SF Giants game and got seated promptly in the SF Sports Room formerly DeBartolo Room. This room is one of the smaller private rooms that have SF Giants & SF 49ers memorabilia, photos, and jerseys. It was only fitting that we sat in this room after the SF Giants game earlier at Oracle Park! For Appetizers we ordered Oysters on the half shell- 1 dozen ($48), Calamari Fritti ($21), and Fresh Anchovies a la Scoma Fritti ($22) I hardly see Anchovies on a menu so of course we had to try them. They were plump and perfectly fried- Delicious! Caesar Salad ($17), Organic Roasted Beet Salad ($16) It is a little small and could be a bigger portion. For the main courses: Linguini con Vongole ($34) It was loaded with Manila clams "Pasta alla Scoma", Scallops and Shrimp ($39), "Lazy Man's Cioppino" ($49) a Fisherman's Wharf original! Never a doubt when in The City is dinner at Scoma's and Irish Cream coffee at Buena Vista! Iconic San Francisco tradition!!

Yelp
Lunch date on a nice Saturday afternoon, just because! We took a nice long walk around the Embarcadero from the Ferry Building and seafood was our reward. We had 1PM reservations and were seated promptly. They do have indoor and outdoor seating options. The staff were pleasant and attentive, the menu has something for everyone, and there are plenty of libations to choose from. The highlights for me: our appetizer of fried anchovies and my mixed seafood grill - they know how to prepare and cook seafood perfectly. We wanted to enjoy a delicious and leisurely lunch at a classic SF seafood institution and that's exactly what we got. I hope we come back sooner than later!

Yelp
My wife and I had lunch at the restaurant this afternoon and had a wonderful dining experience. The waiter, Chris, was "spot on", friendly, professional, and accommodating. The food was excellent. You can't go wrong with any items. The restaurant decor is old-school lovely and warm. Views are spectacular. We highly recommend having lunch or dinner at Scoma's.

Yelp
Dined at SCOMA on 4 Nov and it's truly yummy San Francisco Californian Culinary Arts, at its best! Engaging delightful music oldies in the background, enhanced fond nostalgia and sweet memories of the heritage and rich history of San Francisco! The warmth and chatter among her loyal patrons, further evoked the closeness and umami of what SCOMA offers! Cheers, SCOMA!

Yelp
Today I was playing tourist near Fisherman's Wharf, and we were happy to try this gem. My family got a reservation in advance - the whole party should be present in order to be seated. We started the evening with shrimp cocktail and raw oysters! Perfect appetizers for the cozy boat-like ambiance. A must try was the "Lazy Man's" Cioppino. Packed with fresh seafood! My favorites were the pieces of fish and scallops (these were huge)! The red sauce was light and flavorful, not too salty. I liked dipping the bread in there too. Quite satisfying. The Wild Black Cod was really good! It was oddly cut, which made us skeptical... HOWEVER - Cooked perfectly with the crispy texture and tender in the middle. The vegetables and rice it came with was negligible though. The Tiramisu was the perfect dessert to end the night! Fluffy and moist - not too strong on the coffee flavor. Very creamy and overall enjoyable.

Yelp
Yummy food and yummy drinks! We made a resy so we didn't have to wait. It was pretty lively inside at 7 pm and our server was super friendly and funny. We asked for more bread multiple times, which they did not hesitate to give us every time. We came for the cioppino, and it was my first time having cioppino. I would rate it an 8.5/10! They are not skimpy on the seafood at all. We also got the oysters, clam chowder, crab cakes, calamari, pasta, and a few drinks. Everything was yummy but not anything super special, hence my 4/5 star rating. I would skip on the pasta. The drinks were surprisingly really good too as someone who usually hates the taste of alcohol. I got the house mule, which I enjoyed, and my friends got the espresso martini and apothecary. Not sure if I would come back if I am in the area (because it is a bit far from me) but definitely enjoyed my time here!

Yelp
The best restaurant in the north end of the wharf is easily Scoma's, hiddenl literally IN Fisherman's Wharf. It's got a chic old school vibe with cool, casual contrast. Service was excellent, our waiter Sean (I hope I got that right) was amazing and we had some great conversations. But enough about the hype act; that was just a tease though you not me. It was amazing! We began with Oysters a la Scoma and Steamed Clams, heretofore declared superb. We made it back to the other side for dinner, and since I was ordering fish & chips all day long on my head, that is what I opted as well. Best decision ever. Featuring fresh, never frozen fish brought in daily for their version of good old fashion Cod Fish and Chips. And the best part? It literally did not cost an arm and a leg. There were breakfasts in San Francisco LEARNING the actual cost of this dinner. TBH, THE BEST MEAL OF MY ENTIRE TRIP Thanks, Scoma's!

Yelp
Excellent experience! We went with my fiancés mom who had been there in the 60's! The service was great. They didn't have tables available online when we looked but we went in person and they happily accommodated our party of 4. All the seafood was fresh! Chowder was good (for Cali) ;). We will be back!

Yelp
We arrived a few minutes before Scoma's officially opened for the day, and there was already a nice crowd by the bar. The servers were very polite and welcoming, offering us menus to browse while we waited. That extra time to check out the menu was much appreciated since there were so many options, and I really needed to weigh my choices. Our waiter was fantastic--super knowledgeable about the dishes and really helped us choose the perfect meals for each of us. The restaurant itself was clean and beautifully situated overlooking the pier. With all the sunlight pouring in, it had a warm, positive vibe. Now for the food: 1. The bread appetizer was a bit of a letdown. It didn't taste fresh and felt kind of stale, which was surprising for how fancy the place is. I was hoping for some great Italian bread, so that was a bummer. 2. The crab cake, however, was amazing! It practically melts in your mouth--definitely a highlight. 3. The calamari was good, especially with the tartare sauce. I actually liked it more than the crab cake flavor-wise, but it was softer and chewier than I prefer. I like my calamari with a lot of crunch. 4. The pasta puttanesca was a winner! It was packed with seafood goodness, and I'm so happy with my choice. There were a ton of tempting pasta dishes, but this one definitely delivers on its promise. 5. As for dessert, the tiramisu was tasty but a little underwhelming in terms of texture balance. Nothing too bad, though--I'd still eat it again! I didn't order the lemon tart and the pacific snapper but my coworker who did said she really enjoyed them. Overall, I went with coworkers, and since it was company-paid, I enjoyed the experience. The food was good, but I don't think I'd go back on my own and pay that much for it.

Yelp
Went to Scoma's for Restaurant Week 2024 and we were not disappointed! For people who don't know of Scoma's, its a classic San Francisco seafood restaurant on the pier. With the waiters still wearing white jackets and traditional wood panel walls, it encompasses everything you could recall from great restaurants from the past. Dinner was great, we started with a Dungeness crab cocktail, followed by a perfect bowl of clam chowder. Our main course was a fresh steamed Dungeness crab covered in a yummy garlic butter. And for desert we had one of the best cannoli I have ever had! The whole prefix dinner was $90 and worth every dime.

Yelp
Our group ended up here on a whim and am I glad we did! A beautiful meal and beautiful evening in a classic location was had. This place has all the old school vibes you'd want from a spot like this. It's classic and cool in all the right ways. The type of restaurant where tasty food, history and good vibes combine. Simply put, we found the food to be fantastic. The oysters were so fresh. The calamari was perfectly breaded. The sourdough and whipped butter hit the spot. And our pastas - every single one - were prepared to perfection. They don't skimp on the seafood here and everything is high quality. They even have locally made sodas which we couldn't stop sipping on. I wish I remembered our servers name because he was amazing. We felt like royalty as he attended to our every need and went above and beyond throughout the entire meal. Such a pleasant experience. If you're craving fantastic seafood in a classic space look no further. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the city.

Yelp
My son and his wife were here from New York, and took me to dinner at Scoma.s. I've always loved the ambiance, (I was born here and have been to this restaurant numerous times over the decades,) and certainly the service is quite top notch. I wasn't thrilled with the food this time. I ordered fish and chips, which I can't get enough of since the days of the Larkin Street places. However, there was a bit too much greasy breading on the fish. And while it tasted good, I was not overwhelmed with excitement. The two men in our party both ordered the petrale, but neither of them finished their food. My daughter in law LOVED her choice of Pacific Snapper, and cleaned her plate. I must also say that our fried calamari appetizer was excellent.

Yelp
Tucked away in the heart of Fishermans Wharf I found a wonderful family restaurant named Scoma's. Walking into the bar / dining room, adorned in classic wood paneling and vintage furnishings that exude an air of sophistication, makes it clear this is a classy and timeless establishment. The dapper bartenders and staff exude professionalism in everything they do, they definitely strive to make every guest feel like they are part of an exclusive club. Although I didn't eat, I thoroughly enjoyed the expertly crafted Old Fashioned's in the classic ambiance of the bar. Cheers!

Yelp
Food is amazing! The $25 crab cakes are actually worth it. House made Negroni was pretty good too. Great service. HOWEVER they have some of the worst desserts I've ever had. The lemon tart tasted like chicken and the cannoli filling tasted like cheap cream. Definitely worth it for dinner, but go somewhere else for dessert!

Yelp
Love this place. Always have. Had lunch Sunday, sat at the bar, had lovely service. Started off with a couple oyster shooters, moved into lemoncello spritz into fried anchovies and Rockefeller oysters - highly recommend both. The oysters are so decadent, rich but amazing! We moved into ciopinno and petrale sole. Also amazing. We were both stuffed with leftovers! Had an espresso martini for dessert, which they always use real espresso. Ambiance is what you want, this place is a gem.

Yelp
It's taken me far too long to check this restaurant out. If you're willing to brave the tourists and the commercialization of Fisherman's Wharf, this is a decent spot to pop in for seafood, with some good sea views. The restaurant is very old-school. We ordered the cioppino, crab cakes, and linguine con vongole. The food is good with portions that aren't too big. There's a decent amount of seafood in the cioppino, though I wish there was more bread to soak up all the soup.

Yelp
Your go-to for the best Seafood in Fishermen's Warf! Very friendly staff, our waiter was very knowledgeable regarding their menu items and provided the best selection. Their fish is very fresh and delicious! Restaurant is located right on the pier so has a nice view of the water depending on where your seated. Would definitely recommend this place for a nice dinner or even lunch.

Yelp
Wonderful old classic San Francisco Treasure! Went here with my parents for their 63rd anniversary. They have many fond memories of going to Scoma throughout the years and it didn't disappoint. . I love the old time feel in class of the place.. the seafood was fresh and delicious! They even brought us glasses of champagne to celebrate their anniversary! Cheers!

Yelp
We discovered this restaurant some years ago and it became our favourite. Unfortunately, this year we were very disappointed. First of all, the prices were raised a lot ! The Lazy Man was not good at all: the sauce was like tomatoes in your mouth (where was the delicious sea taste ?) and the toasts were too hard I had a mix of scallops and shrimps. The scallops were not good at all But the most important reason why we will NEVER return again : the rude attitude from the servant (thick male person). He had the courage to follow and to call us in the street because he got no tip from us ! What a disgusting manner to handle a customer. Lucky us, we found today another place with a better Lazy Man

Yelp
Classic seafood place with a quaint interior right by the water! It's in a touristy area, but the food and service is excellent. Every time I come here I get the clam chowder! This is actually the restaurant that made me realize that I like clam chowder. The sourdough bread they serve is classic SF sourdough and never misses. I also ordered a Bloody Mary with tequila and really enjoyed the Bloody Mary mix. Truffle fries were delicious, perfect amount of truffle flavor and well cooked fries with yummy cheese. Oysters were fresh! The warm brussel sprouts salad was so much better than I expected, delicious garlicky flavor with pancetta cooked in and the perfect amount of acidity to cut through the fat. Finished the meal with a standard shot of espresso. Love this staple seafood spot and will be back

Yelp
The only kind of seafood I trust is the fish stick, a totally featureless fish that doesn't have eyeballs or fine -- Dave Barry Didn't eat fish sticks at Scoma's but I did have pasta, steak and seafood at two dinners. View is nice, ambiance fun, service really good but essentially it's convention banquet hall level cuisine. They just serve too many people for it to be more than solid. Decent wine list at fair prices. Tourists love this place but there are so many more interesting and original restaurants in the city that I'd give this a pass unless someone else is paying for it (one dinner was business). Recommended for out of town guests or business dinners

Yelp
I love seafood, but never get to cook it because my hubby hates the smell. Soooooo, when given the chance, I will find a seafood restaurant that will have something he will eat. Found it!!!!!! The interior is classy for being on a working dock. It has a date night vibe that I appreciate. Not too loud, sophisticated and has a nice view. I ordered the "Lazy Man's" Cioppino and it was delicious. It had scallops, shrimp, clams, mussels, calamari, market fish, topped with Dungeness crabmeat in a tomato broth. Just yummm! My hubby had their Papparadelle Bolognese and he used the bread to wipe his bowl clean. I picked the perfect restaurant for us!

Yelp
Perfect place in Sausalito for an outdoor lunch on a beautiful day!!! Shrimp, baked cheese, and the pear salad were all delicious! The Palona (a non alcoholic Paloma) tasted like the real deal! Our server was friendly and attentive but not overwhelming!

Yelp
Had a great time sitting at the bar for a few cocktails. The bartender was funny and entertaining and of course the drinks were delish... what was also a nice surprise was how fun and entertaining the host GINA was. There was a wait to get a seat and while that happened, she made us feel welcomed and at home and cracked jokes with us. Thanks for making our visit memorable GINA!

Yelp
We had such a good meal here. The space is old school without seeming overdue for an updating. It's the kind of place you can show up in shorts and a polo, or dressed for business or a date. Service is polished. Drinks were really well made. I opted for something banana focused and was pleased with how balanced it was, rather than being cloyingly sweet. There was a nice wine list too. We started with the Clam Chowder (it's the law right?), and it's tough to find anything but good chowder in the area, this was truly one of the best we've every had. More good sized clams than potatoes, and a perfectly seasoned and creamy soup. It was so good, that my wife decided to have another bowl instead of an entree. They offer a nice selection of Oysters, that were perfectly shucked and presented with cocktail sauce and ground horseradish to pep it up as you like (warning, this is very strong horseradish). For my entree, I had one of the best Cioppino's I've ever had. It was so full of great seafood, in an excellent broth. So much seafood, that I couldn't finish it all. Would love to come back next time we're in the area.

Yelp
Lovely ambiance, friendly service, and good food. The crusty sourdough bread is outstanding. The clam chowder was okay (hence the four stars). The mussels were excellent as well. The scallops were to die for. The shrimps were very good as was the sole. I really enjoyed the wild rice as well. The server was extremely friendly and funny -- and further enhanced the experience. An overall excellent restaurant. We sat outside and it was a lovely day.

Yelp
We are locals in SF.. We decided to treat ourselves to one of our favorite seafood restaurants, Scomas. Justin was our waiter. He was kind and knew the menu well. We ordered Cioppino and a pasta dish. Fabulous!!!
