Scotchies Drax Hall

Treated to lunch on our excursion from our cruise ship! I ordered the jerk pork & festival, my Mom ordered the vegetables & sweet potato, and our friend ordered the jerk chicken & red beans and rice. The chicken & pork were tender and tasty! All the food was delicious!!

Food was amazing. Fresh, well smoked jerk chicken, breadfruit that tasted so sweet with nearly the texture of sweet butter. Nice location with rustic seating, lots of trees and cool breeze. Service was friendly enough. Go before 12 noon to beat the lunch rush. But not like 10 am. We went at 11:30 am on Tuesday and got through quickly. The lady said that the rush is unpredictable… I suppose it depends on when the tour busses come in.

This is most definitely a tourist trap. The chicken was SO DRY it nearly knocked my filling out. We were taken by our tour driver on the way back to Riu Hotel. This is definitely not authentic. There is also no sauce give aside from this small hot sauce and they were stingy in saying only 1x small cup per half chicken which is laughable.

Drinks: Cold Red Stripe Food: festival was yummy, rice and peas tasted burnt Jerk chicken and jerk pork, the portions were sizeable, but needed seasoning (flavor) When ordering you can smell the jerk, but no jerk was to be tasted on the food. Atmosphere good

Good food, but I wish they had spicy fries. When we got here, there were quite a few items they didn't have (thinks we're out of stock). But the jerk chicken was good! If you sit further back from the serving area, there are a lot of flies, but it isn't too bothersome.

I'd recommend this place for anyone visiting the island. The food was good, the festival was my favorite with some spicy ketchup, but the experience is what really gives this place its score and charm. The staff are attentive and sweet. It's outdoors with multiple eating areas, a great place for individuals or groups, and you can see the food being prepared which makes it a great spot to stop and visit.

Visited on a cruise excursion so mainly going to talk about the food and atmosphere. I got the jerk chicken and it was delicious. Not over done and the spice was perfect. Had some hot sauce and it was 🔥. The side was rice and peas and it was ok. I'm not looking for a lot from the sides. The chicken was the star here. The restaurant was really beautiful with lots of flowers in a natural setting.

Fantastic place for jerk style munch. A smiling and polite service.
