We Compared Classic Frozen Foods With Their Updated, Fancier Versions | Eater

"A heftier frozen stromboli with a garlic-butter–brushed crust, melty cheese, and thick slabs of pepperoni that add salt and heat; despite some crust-to-filling ratio issues and gaps, its flavor and buttery crust make it the preferred choice over a conventional pepperoni-and-cheese pocket." - Kat Thompson

This has *absolutely* been my new go-to frozen pizza for the last couple of years. I have been their biggest fan. Large, great tasting, with lots of chunky toppings. Not any more. I've been quite disappointed in the last 3 or so pizzas I bought. Not only are they considerably smaller, there are also considerably less toppings, and the quality of the meats has gone way down. The pizza is even smaller than the reduced sized piece of cardboard it's packaged on. When I sent a complaint to their website, they replied the size has not been reduced. Obviously, they truly think we're stupid. Sadly, it seems like just another case of corporate greed, and it's okay....... they won't *notice*. I will NOT be buying another one of their products.

My husband and I first tried Screamin Sicilian pizza bought at our local grocery store Foodlion Meyersdale PA. They were at that time Bogo. And on sale $5.99. We figured what the heck, let's buy couldn't lose. Hadn't had frozen pizza like forever. Much to our surprise, DELICIOUS. Will continue to buy, in fact, purchased one recently. We recommend to anyone BUY. Generous toppings, we like the supreme. And the price $7.99, when not on sale, you CAN'T beat that

We are not big frozen pizza fans normally. However, the ScreaminSicilian, Mother of Meats pie, has converted us. The crust came out of the oven crunchy and all the toppings were absolutely delicious. Will definitely keep these pies in our freezer.

These Screamin' Sicilian pizzas aren't very good. I recently had their supreme and meat lover's pizzas and won't buy any more. Imo, the temperature of 425⁰ is too high to cook these on. The top burns before the crust gets done. Or maybe the crust is just terrible. It either seems like it doesn't quite get done or it did get done and the texture is just poor. They call it a stone fired medium crust. They put giant saugage pieces on and I have to remove them and cut them to a reasonable size. They put too many peppers on it and not enough onions - so I have to re-do that too. Overall it's not worth the work to "fix" these pizzas when the crust is hard and doesn't rise. These crusts aren't chewy - they're hard and unpleasant.

We’ve tried two kinds of this brand, the supreme and pepperoni. The crust has a weird flavor that I’m only able to describe as stale. The sauce is okay but a little sweet for my taste. The cheese is good with flavor and ratio. The toppings for the supreme: the sausage was super fatty and less meaty than should be, the onions were non-existent, the peppers were slimy. Topping for pepperoni: super greasy which isn’t normally a deal breaker for me if the taste is good but it wasn’t. It resembled the taste of how dog food smells and made my whole house smell like rancid meat. I had high hopes that were very much crushed. I’d rather eat dollar store pizza bagel bites than ever get these again. And I hate bagel bites…☹️

For the price this pizza has to be the best I’ve had and my opinion I think it’s better than papa John’s and most others I’ve had. I’ve been getting the supreme pizza and it hasn’t disappointed at all thus far. Plenty of peppers, pepperonis, black olives and the sausages on them are huge with plenty of them! 10/10

Yelp
Definitely the most delicious frozen pizza brand. I was a chef at high-end restaurants. Consistently tasty sauce, toppings, cheese, and crust. Always look for the freshest products using the expiration dates. I prefer the stuffed crust pepperoni, Detroit-style pepperoni, and Original Supremus Maximus. Also, buy it on sale, which it often is at most supermarket chains. Go for it!

Yelp
Do you have an emergency pizza in your freezer? I'm a pizza aficionado and I have two privately owned joints near me that make my excellent fresh pies. However, if it's 2am Sunday night they can't help me. That's why you need an emergency frozen pizza! I kept seeing these fine folks in frozen pizza reviews on the internet and thought I'd give them a try. I'm glad I did! Availability & Pricing- In my area there are three major grocery stores, and they are in all three. I purchased mine from Walmart. For this review I choose the "Mother of Meat!" because I am a serious carnivore. It set me back $6.97. This is on the high end of the frozen pizza world, at least in my area. Photos- I gave you three. The crazy distinctive box. The pie in its frozen state. The final cooked result. Cooking- I used a non-stick pizza pan and followed the temp and time directions on the box. I checked it at the minimum time and I'm sure glad I did as it was done. Your results may vary but be warned! Taste- This is going to be my new emergency pizza. There is a decent amount of savory meat. Not as much as I would get on my fresh pie, but I didn't expect that! The sauce is middle-of-the-road for spiciness, at least for me. The crust is medium thick and crispy which I realize is the decision point for many buyers. I liked it. Conclusion- If you like a crispy crust, I suggest you try one of these!

Yelp
I get up pretty early every morning this time @ 2:30 am. When this occurs almost nightly I love to dig around on Yelp and see what I can find. I read a review from Steven B. of Orlando Florida about this brand of frozen pizza. It was a very thorough and descriptive one about this particular brand of pizza that I adore and it caught my attention big time! For more years than I care to remember Palermo's Supreme Pizza was my middle of the night go to snack. Unfortunately the quality of Palermo's Supreme Pizza had gone downhill somewhat not to mention the high price unless it's a BOGO. I bought two of these Screaming Sicillan Thin Crust Pizzas on a whim and the quality just blew me away! Actually I've been told that Palermo's makes this brand. The crust is thin style and the various toppings are more than abundant! The sauce is completely five star territory as is the cheese. What can I say? For a frozen pizza this thing is unmatched! Again, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Steven B's review.

Yelp
I picked up a screaming Sicilian pizza from my local Kroger to give it a shot. I got the double pepperoni extra Sicilian pepperoni. I have been wanting to try essentially every pizza in the world frozen fresh local chain whatever. So that is my quest to just try any different ones that I can. Base this on frozen pizza reviews only. So for this screaming Sicilian the price was about seven dollars and some change which is a little high for frozen pizza the taste was pretty darn good cheese and pepperoni good combination together across for some reason just never could really get a good firm crust it was always kind of flaky which is why I'm going to knock this down from 4 to 3. I mean overall pretty good pie I would say go ahead and give it a shot if you've never had it or you like it. But I would prefer other cheaper options over it.

Yelp
Perfect size for two adults and 17 minutes in the oven and dinner is ready. A tasty treat indeed.
