Underbelly Hospitality Is Opening a Mexico-City Styled Taqueria in Houston Farmers Market | Eater Houston

"Located in the Houston Farmers Market since February 2021, Wild Oats is a Texas cuisine–focused restaurant that will relocate to Spring Branch in October in hopes of better catering to families after finding the Market location “wasn’t a right fit.” The move to Spring Branch aligns with family-friendly goals—Wild Oats allows kids dining with adults to eat for free during the week—and the current Market location will officially close on September 3 to make way for Comalito, though it will continue serving lunch and dinner through August with specials for Houston Restaurant Week." - Brittany Britto Garley

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fun, family-friendly Hill Country spot with a unique twist 🐐🍻 We had such a great time here with my daughters! The staff was incredibly polite and patient, which made the experience smooth and enjoyable — especially since I brought my 3-year-old (who is autistic) and my 1-year-old. It felt like a welcoming space for families, and that means a lot. The setup is spacious with lots of outdoor seating — picnic tables, Adirondack chairs around fire pits, and plenty of shade from big oak trees. Huge fans are placed throughout the yard, which helps a lot on warm Texas afternoons. Parking is open and plentiful. One of the biggest highlights is, of course, the goats! They’re in a fenced-in pen that kids can safely enjoy watching up close. Just a heads-up for parents: while the goats are enclosed, the rest of the yard is not, so you’ll want to keep an eye on little ones at all times. It’s not just a daytime spot, either — at night the place comes alive with a fun social vibe. There are bars inside and two outdoor bars that open up after dark, making it just as perfect for hanging out with friends or date nights as it is for family afternoons. Accessibility-wise: the main entrance has a small step up, so I’m not sure how easy it is for wheelchairs. Also, most of the outdoor area is loose gravel, which can be tricky for strollers or mobility devices. Overall, this place nails the combination of great atmosphere, family-friendliness, and Hill Country charm — with a bonus nightlife side. Perfect for a casual afternoon with kids or an evening drink with friends. Definitely recommend!

My fiancé and I came here on our baby moon and were so pleased by the efficiency and friendliness of the staff. We went on a Saturday afternoon close to 1, and did not have a reservation. There was close to a thirty minute wait which flew by because they have little goats that you can feed and a nice little area we could occupy ourselves and look at items they sell. before we knew it it table was ready! We did request for outdoor seating just because it was lovely day. On their patio they have fans that also blow cool water which helped so much. Our waitress Alexis was quick and polite and made sure to check on us often get us more refills on water, drinks, etc. I loved how they expressed quality was very important their for it being a scratch kitchen. I overall loved the experience and of course would be back. They sometimes have live music, have lots of games for family and friends, outdoor and indoor bar, so much to offer.

This was probably my 6th time here and consistent great visit. The food was great. The drinks were spot on. It was a lively trivia night and the crowd sounded like they were having a good time. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Restrooms were impeccable as well. They offer $5 bags to feed the goats and they all looked healthy and happy :) Both our hostess and server were helpful and in good spirits which contributed to a wonderful evening.

We rented the private event space for our son's rehearsal dinner and couldn't have chosen a more perfect venue! From our first meeting with Dayna through the end of our event, we received absolutely outstanding service. Cory & Hailey, our bartender & server for the evening of our event, were THE ABSOLUTE BEST and I seriously don't have the words to express how amazing they were!!!!! The food was also incredible and exceeded our expectations. All our guests had nothing but compliments about the drinks, food, event space, & of course, the goats. I can't recommend The Screaming Goat Yard & Tap higher. It's places like this with staff like Dayna, Cory & Hailey that remind me outstanding hospitality and customer service still exists in the service industry. You just need to go to the Screaming Goat Yard & Tap to find it! Our event was perfect and we seriously can't thank you enough!

We came out on a Saturday and barely beat the rush. Kids had fun playing yard games and feeding the goats while waiting for our table. All staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Food was awesome and we will definitely be back to try some more of the menu.

What a great atmosphere in that place? Great energy, good solo guitarist, playing the whole time, I was there, that was really nice. The shrimp Pole boy was delicious. And so were the fried green tomatoes. I was just scratching the surface with this place, they have a whole caged in area of goats. And area for cornhole. And a huge outside area for eating, even a bar out there.

I'm not sure if we came on a bad day, but today is my birthday, and I was brought here as a surprise. The service we received was abysmal, and the food left something to be desired. I ordered a drink and I had to send it back because it wasn't mixed properly. The only thing that made the 40 min trip worth it was the goats. I just expected better service and food for the price that was paid ($220 for 7 people tip included).

There was a company there before you got in to be seated, which very passive-aggressively tries to get donations from you when you arrive and after you leave. It was my birthday and our first time going. We didn't want to be berated and made to feel bad if we didn't donate. We mentioned we donated and participated in the very thing they were asking for through our church, and they insulted us and told us oftentimes that doesn't even help. I told them point blank that we actually see those in need and assist! However, I loved the goats! Small children were left unattended, and no staff was present to ensure the proper treatment of goats by guests. The children threw rocks, dirt/dust, and sticks at the goats, even the babies. The food was good. The service was good also, but the server wasn't very knowledgeable about what was going on there.
