Yelp
Wow - we had some great food, wine, and service at Scuderie Italia, and I hope they get a chance to read my praises!
First, a few things to know before ya go: Their pizzaiolo (pizza maker) is part of The True Neapolitan Pizza Association, so you can expect some good 'zas on the menu. They also feature house-made pastas, and a great (and affordable) wine list. Note, they do have cocktails, but they are rice wine-based.
So, this semi-casual brunch, lunch, and dinner spot is located in Pacific Beach. Reservations are recommended (and you can book directly from their Yelp page). You can dine inside or out (outside there are heaters).
We started with the Bruschettone (homemade bread, cherry tomatoes,
burrata, basil), truffle fries (OMG, the best!), salmone al rosmarino (grilled salmon with rosemary on a bed of arugula and cherry tomatoes, served
with a side of mashed potatoes). Deeelish. I never thought to cook salmon with rosemary. A few girlfriends split the ravioli fritti and two pizzas. And the wine was flowin'! I discovered a new favorite cabernet sauvignon to shop for back home in Texas (Polvaro Tenuta). Also to note, they serve up a great espresso martini (made with real espresso, not liquir; but keep in mind, they use rice wine). Appreciate that the menu informs diners what can be made vegan or gluten-free.
