This is a gem! Maybe only the locals know about it… The View: As the namesake it is as beautiful as is the ambiance on a blindingly sunny day! All tables are positioned to see the sea, sky and beyond. The Service: The restaurant is quaint and well staffed and the service is on point. The Menu: Lunch Menu is simple and a must try is the wild salmon sandwich, but be ready to get messy! Come here hungry!😋 The Chef: Executive Chef Ernest Lopez has been with the restaurant since 12/2024. He brings with him a spin to the local bounty La Jolla is known for! If you are looking for: great food paired with a good wine selections… look no further! It just maybe my new meet up place in La Jolla!

After moving from NYC back to SoCal, I missed this seaside cuisine. Located on the top floor of the hotel, great service from Dennis. Takes a bit of time to cook, but the HALF GRILLED SNAPPER was fiery peppery and delish! The add on flank steak to the ceasar salad was so flavory! Delish ginger ale too. The carrot cake dessert icing was to die for!

I had the chance to visit this restaurant located near La Jolla Shores, and it was such a memorable experience. The restaurant sits on the 11th floor of a nearby hotel, which means the view is absolutely stunning. From the moment you walk in, the wide windows showcase the coastline and ocean, making it a perfect setting to enjoy a relaxed meal. It’s the kind of spot where you can sit back and take in the scenery while enjoying good food and conversation. I went there for lunch and ordered the BLT, which was prepared really well. The bread was nicely toasted, the bacon had a satisfying crunch, and the vegetables were fresh, making it a very enjoyable sandwich. I also tried the hummus, which was flavorful, creamy, and came with just the right sides for dipping. The combination of good food and that kind of view made it feel special without being overly formal. I can definitely see this being a wonderful place for a date or even just a relaxing afternoon meal with friends. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting La Jolla Shores who wants great food in an unbeatable location with an amazing view.

Dinner at Sea and Sky in La Jolla was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome with attentive and friendly service. As we dined, we were treated to one of the most breathtaking sunsets over the ocean, creating the perfect backdrop for the evening. The food was nothing short of amazing — every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. This restaurant truly captures the essence of dining by the sea with a touch of elegance. This spot on the 11th floor has such a mood with live music, soft lighting, and views that make you want to linger. Dinner was beautifully presented (though a little pricey), but the happy hour is where it shines. The green juice in the morning was pure joy. 💚 Everything just feels thoughtful and pretty ...very La Jolla.

The food quality was very bad. I ordered half of red snapper. It was supposed to be grilled. But it was kind of broiled when not completely defrosted, so it was combination of chewy and watery. The waitress was very apologetic about it and offered a replacement dish. They prepared salmon, which was also not cooked to perfection bit was delivered to me scorching hot and was super overcooked and dry. For $45 salmon and $52 snapper they should have at least cook it to perfection. The waitress was polite and nice. But the atmosphere was blaze. The restaurant was not busy at the time. I guess at winter when it get dark early you cannot see the view if you come for dinner. Overall, because I stayed at the hotel it was convenient but totally not worth the price and quality. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Amazing views and a full bar. The food is good, especially if you like seafood. They have a happy hour that looks enticing. Come for the view to then enjoy the food and drinks

I am sorry that I do not recall our server's name. He was exceptional in his knowledge of wine, food pairing, and his recommendations were EXQUISITE. Lean, handsome, gentleman with short brown curly hair. Excellent service all around. I arrived before my date. He offered me a delicious brut. He paid attention to detail, offered suggestions at the precise time, and followed up with care. I had the steak and frites off the bar menu. Complimented well with the garlic aioli for the fries, a chimmichurri, and a demi glaze for the tender steak. My date had the scallops. He suggested the perfect wine pairings. I had the seghesio Zin. He had the sonoma cutrer chardonnay. The dessert was a creamy cheesecake. All cooked and prepared to perfection. Update*** came back from impromptu stop to watch the drone show for the 4th and enjoyed the steak and frites at the bar. Maybe even better than the first time with more chimichurri :) service at the bar was phenomenal and all the staff were gracious and friendly.

I had a wonderful dining experience at the restaurant inside the Hilton Curio in La Jolla. From the moment we arrived, the service stood out -- the staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely focused on making sure everything was perfect without ever feeling intrusive. Our server Laila was knowledgeable about the menu, offered thoughtful recommendations, and checked in at just the right times. Overall, this restaurant delivers an exceptional combination of delicious food, outstanding service, and a beautiful setting. I would absolutely recommend it and look forward to returning on my next visit.

I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast at Sea & Sky Dining. Of course, the view is spectacular! More importantly, the host ( Laila) met me promptly and was very pleasant. She checked on my needs consistently. The meal was delicious, and enhanced by Laila's excellent service. I will definitely return on my next visit to Hotel LaJolla

Beautiful view and exceptional food! We ordered the little neck clam appetizer--the sauce was absolutely to die for and paired perfectly with the bread and truffle butter. The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection, and our cocktails were delicious as well. Service was fast and efficient throughout the meal. Definitely coming back!

I dined at Sea & Sky Restaurant and left questioning how the happy hour menu could be this poorly executed. The view is beautiful, and the service was attentive and professional. The food, however, fell far short. The burger was overly sweet, the oyster with strawberry sauce was a mismatch that didn't make sense, and the fish taco was dry. The Brussels sprouts were overcooked, and the chips tasted like they came straight out of a bag. For the price, this was some of the worst food I've had in months. It felt like paying restaurant prices for something worse than groceries at home.

Tonight is our second night getting happy hour drinks at the bar. Very enjoyable experience, the view is great and vibes are lovely. Jimmy has been our bartender both afternoons and has served up some delicious margaritas and even made them spicy per our request.

Their happy hour is so amazing! From 3-5pm and drinks are fabulous and food is amazing. Laila helped me with order the food and she helped me take these lovely photos, what a view on the 11th floor! She was the best server I've met!

Breakfast in the sky! Love the ambiance of this place. As we walked in, Eddie recommended a great spot overlooking the view of the city. Since it was our first time, he had great recommendation and service was fast. We ordered avocado toast and steak and egg. Definitely will come again.

I had an incredible brunch at Sea & Sky! The coastal views are absolutely breathtaking and create such a relaxing atmosphere. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Bagel, and the ingredients were fresh and delicious. A huge thank you to Eddie for the exceptional service. He was professional, attentive, and made sure our experience was perfect from start to finish. If you're looking for great food and a world-class view, this is the place. Highly recommend asking for Eddie!

We are absolutely in love with this place. Steven was a delight. The food was VERY impressive. Everyone super helpful and kind, incredible view and the music hit the spot too. A very lovely experience we would highly recommend.

Margaritas are definitely very yummy (if you're up for it, ask for it a little spicy). Jimmy was great at the bar so make sure to say hello. View is obviously impeccable!

Sea & Sky Restaurant is on the 11th floor inside the Hotel La Jolla. Parking is validated. It was over a year ago since my last visit. Last week, I had a late lunch meeting. Was greeted and seated by the male staffer, who was apparently also the bartender and waiter. The kitchen and kitchen staff of 2 were visible from my booth seat. An older female staffer set my utensils and stemware. I asked her a question about the restaurant, and her immediate grumpy reply was, ' I'm off the clock,' and so I had to brace myself for the service that follows... We ordered off the restaurant week and the happy hour menus: Chardonnays, oysters, truffle fries, crudité hummus and salmon salad for me. The food too longer than expected, I had to constantly ask the waiter. He was apologetic, saying the main chef quit recently and the kitchen staff were new...ugh! The food was presented and tasted good but not memorable. The oysters I had last year had better mignonette and this time none. The salmon salad took forever and when it finally appeared, the taste was subpar for the anticipation, presentation was lackluster but nonetheless edible. Kitchen staff lacked creative presentation of dishes. The restaurant is stylish and I noticed the continuation of the Leaf decor from the garden entry, main lobby and here on the ceiling lighting. The draw here is the view of La Jolla and the ocean, from a distant but still makes for nice ambiance. Additionally, this is a business appropriate place for business meetings as there was hardly any diners. When happy hour started, I noticed people fill the bar and lounge area. If you're looking for a quiet restaurant setting for a private business meeting, this is an amazing place. The food is satisfactory but the lack service staffing slows service which might be ok if you're not in a rush. Recommend

Very beautiful ocean views, excellent fish tacos and great service from Laila. Sea and Sky is a good choice for cocktails or a romantic dinner.

I have to start off my review by clarifying that I am from La Jolla and grew up here so I really have been to all of the restaurants in town over the decades and have been to this restaurant many times, both before the remodel and after. My last time was 2.5 years ago and we decided to stop in last night for an early Christmas week dinner. The hotel itself needs a lot of work and is far from somewhere that I would stay, but this restaurant location is honestly unbeatable, especially if you go during sunset or daytime because the views are really the best part. The food and the service is also pretty good, but honestly the best part of this place will be the view and it being in a sleepier part of La Jolla with easy parking. It's located on the top floor of the La Jolla Hotel and there is self parking available on site. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered had a bit of a delay this past evening, but that maybe is to be expected during Christmas week and potentially shorter staffed. The menu here is actually very small, it's much smaller than it was 2 years ago when I visited, but they do have some good options on it. I started off the meal with a Baby Beats Salad and this one was better than it was two years ago. This version had a lot more beats and more flavor to it so it was definitely improved from the last time I had it. For my entrée, I chose the Rockfish because the Seabass was not available this time unfortunately. The Rockfish was actually surprisingly good and I would recommend it. It had some very delicate flavors and was not overly fishy; in general I really enjoyed it. I finished the meal with a Caramel Macchiato and for $7.50 I was expecting more than just a single shot so I honestly felt that was not a fair option so I would not recommend that. Overall a nice meal in a sleepy part of La Jolla. The Village always gets most of the attention, but it's nice to dine over near The Shores even though I grew up near Windansea myself. Sea & Sky would be a great spot for a date and try to book it during sunset hours, you won't be disappointed.

The scallops were 20/10. I would come back for those and the view! The view is amazing, this restaurant and hotel are updated (less than 5 years ago) it's gorgeous! The fish special was yellowtail and as you can see by the presentation it was a bit underwhelming for a special. It looked messy and the fish was EXTREMELY dry and unflavored. We later told the waitress who offered to bring out another fish but that was finally towards the end of our meal - I will say the "new" fish was amazing in flavor and moist. The crab cakes were extremely salty but the roe and sauce was a great flavor

Great atmosphere. The view is absolutely stunning. Jimmy was the bartender and my server, and he was fantastic. I had the beet salad and the Rockfish, and both were quite tasty. Great wine list too.

I went here with my husband for breakfast on Sunday, and it was such a great experience. The food was amazing, and the service was incredible. Our server, Rosemary, was especially attentive and made everything even better.

My wife and I came for the view but we'll be coming back to visit more with Jimmy the bartender. Fantastic service and excellent drinks as we watched the sun set. And, he's hilarious. Already planning our next visit!

We came in for Sunday brunch at Sea & Sky at La Jolla Hotel and had such an amazing experience. The food was absolutely delicious--everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfect for a relaxing brunch with a view. What really made our visit stand out was our server, Rosemary. She was honestly the best server we've had in a long time. So friendly, attentive, and welcoming--she made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. She checked in at all the right times and had such a great attitude the entire time. Great food, great vibes, and exceptional service. We'll definitely be back for brunch again--and we'll be asking for Rosemary!

Laila has been our server a few times at Sea and Sky and she always takes the best care of us and is so sweet! I know she sees a lot of people come thru here but always remembers us! All the staff are super sweet! The food is great and the ocean views in the entire restaurant are spectacula!

Avocado toast was delicious as well as the chicken apple sausage. The ocean view was incredible. Service was great and attentive. Shout out to Eddie - he was very hospitable. Perfect way to end my short stay in La Jolla.

Service is exceptional. Eddie was so accommodating, we arrived 5 minutes before breakfast kitchen was closed but Eddie made sure to accommodate my family of 5 with our children. Food was delicious as well. No complaints. Excellent service overall.

Had an amazing experience at Sea & Sky Dining. The ambiance alone is worth it. beautiful ocean views, relaxing vibe, and perfect for a chill night out or a special occasion. The food was just as impressive, everything tasted fresh, well seasoned, and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell they really pay attention to quality and presentation. Service was top notch as well. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything flowed smoothly without feeling rushed. Overall, definitely one of those spots you'd come back to. We came up to the restaurant to use our food credit from our hotel stay, and wow--the view was absolutely breathtaking! I wish I had known about it sooner because we definitely would have dined here the night before. We were seated right away, but unfortunately, it took over 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. Other tables around us were seated after us and managed to place their orders before we did, which was frustrating. That said, the food made up for it. Breakfast was delicious, and sipping coffee while taking in the stunning view was the perfect way to start the day. If the service had been quicker, it would have been an all-around perfect experience!

Great service, excellent food, wonderful view! Had breakfast here. Had the green shashuka and coffee, $32 total. The server was friendly and personable. Shashuka had fingerling potatoes, butternut squash, wilted kale, 2eggs, verde, jack cheese, and avocado. Freaking amazing! Nice jazz retro music and phenomenal veiw. What a great start to my day.

View is fantastic. Nice way to start the morning. Day 1 I had just a side of scrambled eggs and some gluten free toast. The eggs were not good. Clearly cooked way too fast, like on a screaming hot griddle and immediately dried out. Day 2 I got the avocado toast on gluten free bread and it was excellent. So beautiful. That egg was over easy. Service was very attentive.
