This is a staple restaurant in city island! And the food is pretty decent but overall service was mediocre. The ambience is pretty nice especially if you come in the warmer months, they offer outdoor seating. We came here hoping for have lunch but they only serve dinner Friday- Sunday from 11:30 AM. Which to me is very strange. But we didn’t know and at that point, it is what it is. But if you looking for a nice dinner; def worth checking out!

I traveled two hours to visit this restaurant, eager to experience what it had to offer. While the interior was beautifully decorated and perfectly set for Valentine’s Day, the service fell short of expectations. The food was decent but didn’t quite make up for the lackluster service. Overall, a nice ambiance, but the experience could have been better.

I spent the weekend in New York, and this was the highlight of my trip.. this place is absolutely amazing.. The portions were huge, and the food was delicious. I wish I could give more stars. When you go ask for Mrs. Debbie, she is my favorite. She even gave me a tour of the place afterwords....

I recently went for my cousins birthday, and they have made such a change from the last time I was there a few months ago the food was better. The service is better. I highly recommend this place we loved it.

Food always tastes delicious. My favorite is the crab cake, best crab cake hands down, my mouth waters everytime I think about it- if you go here you have to try it!

The food was amazing and staff phenomenal! This was my 3rd time there, but it was the first time for my wife and 2 friends. My Wife said this is now her #1 favorite and one of my girlfriend's want to go back for her birthday in October. Our server Khan and his assistant was exceptional! We were greeted by the manager John (I believe that was his name) which added that special touch. The AC was down in our section, but once they opened the windows it cooled down. Overall Satisfaction!!

The fried calamari it taste like cardboard, my husband and I were waiting long for the waitres to bring the food. She even forgot to bring the drinks we ask her twice then she wanted to bring it when we was almost done with the food. She wants to.bring them the food it's okay I have better in other places I will not recommend it. Also the utensils dirty we ask for plastics forks

First time on City Island and my first time to eat here. Food is amazing and generous portions. We started with a seafood platter, fried shrimp, scallops and calamari. It was delicious, especially the homemade tartare sauce. We then had the Bronzino, full fish cooked on wood, succulent and tasty. My wife had the fillet of sole and we had fresh veg with it. No room for desert. Great place.

Just had an engagement party here for my son and his fiancé. The food and service were excellent. We had close to fifty people and everyone was served without any issues. The room was beautiful and the staff were wonderful and accommodated all of my requests. My guests were in awe of how great the food was. So much that everyone left with Sea Shore Shopping bags. Don't believe the bad reviews!! My family has been coming here for years!!! Thanks again to everyone at The Sea Shore!!!

Valet parking ; bread and nice spread to start with your meal . The staff was efficient quick and kind. The location is lovely beautiful views great space . The food was good and fresh . We enjoyed our meal .

Popped in today for a late lunch early dinner really lovely time sat outside because it was 80°. It was lovely dinner. It was lovely was good. Had the lobster bisque. It was OK. Service was impeccable. The ambience is OK there's a lot of restaurant whether you sit inside or outside so I think you'll have her overall you have a decent time. I didn't take any pictures unfortunately but I did come home with some yummy leftovers. Highly recommend that you give them a shot what I love is the outdoor seating.

The food was disappointing. I ordered the Surf and Turf. Filet Mignon and Lobster Tail. I did not get Filet Mignon! Whatever it was, was tough, chewy and stringy. Also, their prices are getting higher and the portions are getting smaller. I spent almost $500 on 12/30/24 for New Year's Eve dinner and my guest were disappointed and I was embarrassed. I think Sammy's will be my next stop. It's sad as Seashore has been my families favorite go to seafood restaurant for years! Do better Seashore!

Came here for a day trip to visit some local spots my mom went to as a child. This was her favorite restaurant growing up and we were so happy to visit. We got shrimp cocktail and oysters which were delicious. The shrimp cocktail was a great size! I got the lobster roll, my mom got the avocado stuffed with lobster salad, and my sister (not a seafood eater) got chicken parm. We all loved our meals! The lobster salad on roll and salad were large chunks. I've never seen the avocado mixed with lobster salad but my mom absolutely loved it. My sisters chicken parm was huge and delicious. She will be eating leftovers for a while! We sat right on the water and it was beautiful and cool with the covered deck. It was cool to see people dock at the restaurant and get off their boats to grab lunch. We will definitely come back!

My sisters and I have been coming here for years! Service is great! The waiters go out their way to accommodate you! The food is delicious! You get more than enough. You always have to take food home. I highly recommend Sea shore Restaurant & Marina . You will no be disappointed!

An old City Island standard with reasonably tasty seafood. It's certainly nothing worth going out of your way for. But if you're in City Island and are brining a group of people, perhaps it's as reliable as any of the other seafood mills on the island.

Never disappointed when dining here. Dined on Sunday afternoon. Restaurant was not packed. Traffic to get there was not bad. Food & cocktails were satisfying. They even have Manhattan Clam Chowder soup. Restaurants rarely serve Manh. Clam Chowder these days. Ambiance was good, noise levels were not loud. It looks like they even spruced up the place, looks brighter than when dined there years ago.

Without any expectations, I had a pretty nice time here. I came out for a late lunch/early dinner. sitting outside had a great view of the water and boats. The starter that they bring out was pretty awesome - the fresh sesame bread and cornbread really hit a spot. We also got a fish and chips and an avocado salad. The quality of the fish was great, the chips were a little soggier than I like. The avocado salad was pretty simple but did the job. The mojito was decent but on the pricier side. Didn't remember until after dinner that Anthony Bourdain stopped by here for his Bronx episode of No Reservations. I would be down to come back here and try other seafood dishes!

Ordered the Seafood feast, which fed 3 adults and 2 children. The crab was amazing. The lobster never disappointed, full of flavor! My youngest had the kids shrimp meal which I felt was lacking flavor but maybe intentional for the kids. The appetizers given in the beginning of the meal were filling so don't get caught up eating too much before ordering a feast. Corn bread was excellent! Place came recommended from a family member that grew up in New York. Service was okay, for how packed it was not at the time, we were expecting faster service.

Came here for a date night with my significant other, we sat outside in the back. it took ten minutes before a waiter came to us. he had an attitude and was doing alot of huffing and puffing . we got our drinks and appetizers which were really good. The waiter kept asking us if we want to order entrees we told him give us 10 minutes he rolled his eyes and said find another waiter I have to leave and just left us there !!! We walked to the inside portion to get another waiter and he apologized for the other waiters rudeness and he began to serve us... I will not be returning to this restaurant because that was shocking behavior especially at seashore ?!? I've been going there for years ! staff needs to be retrained on customer service skills . Food was good but that's about it. Service sucked

This place is fine tbh! The ambiance and vibes are better than the food I would say, but the food is respectable! We went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and had a great waterfront view and it wasn't too crowded, the place is huge. Overall friendly waiters and a fun time, feels like you're in a classic seafood restaurant in a little beach town. Bread was delicious!

Visited this restaurant on Saturday and it was a great time. The place is nice and cozy and beautifully located on a Marina, so the view is nice. We had to wait for the rest of our party to be seated, so we were directed to the waiting area that had comfy couches and a fireplace. We were seated towards the back which had a nice view of the marina. If only it were a sunny day, the view wouldve been twice as good. We started with drinks and I will say, the bartender has a heavy pouring hand and I appreciated it lol. For appetizers, I had the oyster rockefeller. It was good. For my entree, I had the filet mignon and king crab legs. The steak was one of the most tender steaks I've ever had. The crabs were broiled and seasoned to perfection. I'll definitely be returning to this place.

Seashore,7 of us went for dinner and it was great. Their food has always been great for all the years we've been going. The seafood marinara is the best I've had at any restaurant . The service is great we requested Enid as our dining experience aficionado and she leaves nothing out ,very professional. The ambiance is very good and the restaurant is very well maintained. Thank you again Enid . P.S John you run a great restaurant and all the staff there is wonderful.

It was my birthday, I have never had this happen I wish I would've mentioned to waitress waited for at least an hour or more for our food we ate all the bread cornbread olives and vegetables they give you had to order another platter of the vegetables then when the food came out was not hot had to send it back to heat order filet of sole stuffed with crabmeat it was so bland I ate it because I was so hungry my friend ordered a tuna with sesame not one sesame no taste we were very disappointed will not be going back anytime soon

Great place to go and get a big good meal for a reasonable price along with a well prepared specialty cocktail. The waiters are quick and really know their job well. The restaurant has a romantic setting and is well decorated. The valet parking is awesome, overall highly recommend this restaurant.

I just got home with an overflowing large aluminum container filled with leftovers from my absolutely delicious lunch. Our meal started off with an assortment of breads (served pipinig hot) and a lovely relish tray of marinated mushrooms, pickled veggies, cheeses, hot peppers and olives. I was then served Manhattan clam chowder and ordered the fried seafood combo which included huge shrimp, scallops, fillet of sole and calamari and came with a side of linguine with marinara sauce. The clam chowder had a garlickly tomato base, an ample supply of clams and was clam vs. potato heavy. The fried seafood combo was light as air with a crispy, and not overly breadcrumb coating. Both the calamari and scallops were exceedingly tender and the shrimp were plump and juicy. I would have liked a bit more marina sauce on the linguine and should have asked for it, or for a side of it for my calamari, but such is life. One friend ordered the same entree but prefers New England clam chowder (I've had theirs before and it's the real deal but too rich for me). My other friend ordered the Seashore salad (instead of soup), the 1.25 Maine Lobster and linguine with garlic and oil and she enjoyed every bite of her lunch. Their lunch special includes coffee and dessert (a chocolate cake roll with a scoop of vanilla ice cream) which was the perfect ending to our delicious lunch. I am happily stuffed and looking forward to enjoying my leftovers, but they will have to wait until tomorrow because I'm too full to enjoy them tonight! The restaurant offers their lunch specials Monday - Friday from 11:30AM - 3:00PM. Their lunch special menu is not available online so I asked the hostess if I could take pics of the menu and she gave me one to take home. FYI - The restaurant is also offering a Twin Lobster special every Wednesday in June and for $35 you get two 1.25 lobsters, chowder, salad and a baked potato or fries.

Debbie and Felix provided the best service. Their attentiveness and expertise made it a lovely dining experience for our family as we celebrated my mother in law's birthday. Debbie suggested a table in their outdoor seating area and it was a great suggestion. Food was delicious. We plan to go back again.

Service was great, the waiters are attentive, kind, and funny. The portions are big. The ambiance was nice good for date night or group dining. You get views of the water at almost any place you're seated. On a weeknight in September the place was pretty quiet and only a couple tables occupied. They provide a complimentary appetizer of antipasto and 3 different breads (cornbread, garlic bread, an artisan loaf). The breads are good. I had the baby lobster tails, shrimps, and sea scallops and it was delicious and fresh but it could've used a bit more seasoning. The seafood fra diavolo (garlic sauce version) I was told was delicious but not spicy at all as they were expecting spicy. The strawberry daiquiri was eh but the piña colada was really good. They use paper straws so make sure to ask for extra since they get soggy. The grilled vegetables are steamed not grilled so keep that in mind if you get that. The fries are steak fries and not very crispy but good. The salad is good it has croutons, baby shrimps, tomatoes, and mandarins. The chocolate cake is good and the cheesecake is mid.

The food here is really good it's worth the price. Good ambiance, friendly and attentive staff. They also have a nice party room. Nice water views and they have outside seating as well. I do recommend Sea Shore Restaurant.

I met up with a few friends and we decided to have a get together at the seashore. The restaurant had a pleasant vibe to it, and the ambiance was pretty good. The food was excellent, and the wait staff was also very good and very attentive. I would definitely come back for another meal here.

I went back to the seashore recently and truly enjoyed some good seafood. This time I got pickoff the food. This place is fantastic from the service to the food it's always good.

Let's start with a quick PSA... Please DO NOT EAT HERE! When my wife and I go out to eat and spend 50$/person before apps or drinks our expectations are a bit higher. That being said I don't think I'd go back here if they were offering the food for free. Let's start from the beginning, as we walk through the dining room that clearly has not seen a renovation for at least 30 years you see multiple sticky tape fly traps everywhere. Then they sit you in a nice booth directly next to a ledge that hasn't been dusted is a few weeks with silverware and plates that were at least mostly washed. Now for the service, I don't know who my server was since he didn't introduce himself (Hey I wouldn't either if I worked here) but he was so soft spoken you had to lean over the table to be able hear anything he said. Occasionally you'd hear one word and try to piece together everything else. Once we ordered we have the best part of the evening! The Bread! Don't get excited you can get bread just as good at your local Walmart but it was edible! With the bread they served a plate consisting of 1) Soggy, carrots, cauliflower and celery. (I'd guess out of a can but also don't know what kind of company is selling cans of mixed cauliflower celery and carrots?) 2) a single roasted red bell pepper plucked straight from the jar! 3) olives so old that they had more wrinkles than your 98 year old grandfather 4) cubes of yellow and white cheese, what kind you ask? I have no clue as it was just plopped down in front of us. Finally our meals arrive and right away it's clear we are in trouble. My prime rib (which is typically cooked as a roast and sliced after) was seared like a ribeye. My wife's fried shrimp lacked any crunchiness that you'd get from deep frying them. As if that wasn't bad enough literally nothing that was brought out had an ounce of seasoning. Sadly I was not able to tell my waiter this as he checked in once approximately 30 seconds after the food arrived and then was not seen again until we were ready for the check. I am having a hard time putting into words everything wrong with this meal so I'm gonna go item by item. Prime Rib - Cooked incorrectly resulting in a dry flavorless slab of meat I'm pretty sure most dogs would turn away. (Not to mention you'll be tired out from all the chewing you'll need to do to get that first piece down.) Fries - HOW DO YOU MESS UP FRIES??? Literally go buy frozen fries from the supermarket it would be a great improvement on them. Not sure what day they were originally cooked but it wasn't today Corn on the cob - cooked till the kernels burst... mushy corn goo that no one should attempt to eat Fried Shrimp - Again when were these cooked? Not crispy, probably would bounce a solid foot in the air they were so rubbery, like how do you mess this stuff up? Lobster Tail - This was the best thing my wife said she ordered which almost made me cry considering she was having to use a steak knife to pull it apart. For a place so close to the water you'd figure that all their seafood would be fresh and properly cooked. Mixed Vegi's - Cold, shriveled and unseasoned. I ate approximately 3 bites of my prime rib and a bite of corn and a bite of a fry.... When another server came by to check on us I told him I was done with my meal and said I didn't need a box... somehow I guess I was imagining a server removing a full plate from someone would have meant a manager or our server would visit the table to see what was wrong and what could be done to make things right. Silly me. 15 minutes later after struggling through her meal they clear my wife's plates. Maybe another 10 minutes pass and now while we wait for our server to make a reappearance. He finally walk up with a dessert menu and I couldn't help but chuckle knowing those desserts have likely been in their freezer for months if not years. We get the check I shell out 115$ plus a 15% tip for our "server" after eating basically just bread. The entire ride back home we drove in the right most lane in case either of us needed to pull over quickly. Now we sit at home hopeful that we don't get food poisoning and have to share our single bathroom on the night of our 7th Wedding Anniversary. Please if you're the owner close up shop save everyone the time and money!

First came here probably in 1986, have come on and off since then, the one consistent thing about this place is the way it looks. The food I always found it to be good, sometimes excellent, to bad I live so far from here or I would come more often to try more options. I do believe they need a makeover, its time . The service was excellent tho.

Don't trust the waiter. I paid my bill using my card. And left cash tip on the table and found out days later the waiter added his own tip on the original bill

What food lacks in quality and taste is compensated for by large portions. I had great memories of eating here in the 80s and 90s. Current reality suggests we should have relegated this spot to our memories.

The service was beyond unimpressive. And the food was totally disappointing. For the cost one would expect one or the other to be exceptional. So so so disappointing. Never again.

Absolute worst dining experience I've had in the city in the past 10 years. It started with calling to make a reservation. The hostess wasn't sure what to do. Then I heard her ask someone internally if they take reservations for the outside. The person said no. We arrive 10 minutes later. Our whole party of 3 checks into the hostess stand. The hostess completely disregards us and waves a single woman to the front of the line to add her name to the list for outside. They are a party of 3. I then point out to the hostess that we were there first. I watch her write my name above theirs on the wait list. We all go to the bar (their party of 3 and our party of 3). After 20 minutes, as promised, a table opens up for outside. They take the other party of 3 before ours. I asked the hostess why she took their party before ours and she replied that party had a reservation. I reminded her that, according to our first conversation on the phone, they don't take reservations for outside. She literally told me to take that up with up with the person who took their reservation. As if I would somehow know who that is. 20 minutes later, we check on the status of our table. It's not ready, so we ask to speak to the manager to see what is going on. The hostess blows us off and tells us that the manager is busy and we'd have to wait 10 minutes. Finally the managers come down, don't let us finish our story, interrupt us at every turn, and show a complete display of apathy when concern and compassion was required. We were ready to drop a lot of money here on bottles of wine, appetizers, surf & turf, etc. but our experience was ruined so close to the beginning that we didn't even make it to the table. There's no way to going to spend $60 on surf & turf in a restaurant where the managers gaslight us and don't take us seriously. I would recommend never spending money in this place. They have a great location, but that often means the rest of the experience isn't worthwhile. That is absolutely the case with this restaurant. An absolute nightmare. Avoid at all costs.

Seafood lovers, please don't throw your money away! Today, I can confirm that my once go to place, what I used to call a great place to eat seafood has left town. I supported this spot even during Covid and I believe it has never recovered from it. I came twice during the pandemic and swore I would never come back, yet here I am again to give them another chance and sadly it's another fail for me. The food was just bland, and without seasoning, or flavor. As for the service, it to has gone to the dogs!!! If I could say one good thing about the food it would be this, the bread was the best part of the meal and the beer was cold. From the Alaskan crab legs and fried jumbo shrimp to the Twin Brazilian lobster tails. Each was cooked as if the dishwasher was thrown into the kitchen and promoted as the new chef. I asked for broiled crab legs and it looked as if the cook was confused when he or she prepared it. And what a shame, the poor Fried Calamari, it died a painful death. It was crispy on the outside and every bite was like eating rubber bands. As for the Brazilian lobster tail, it was over cooked and looked greasy. If that wasn't enough even the salad and dressing was horrible. BEWARE! The quality of food and service was absolutely terrible and does NOT warrant the prices they charge. I am not alone in my observations, I spoke with other patrons at the restaurant and they agreed. Buen provecho!

It was my first time eating at this establishment. I always seen it on my way to the other restaurants in City Island and was curious to try it out. When first entering the restaurant, I was hit with a horrible smell, of a dirty mop. The decor looked outdated. I ordered the fried fish. The red snapper was over cooked and did NOT taste good. I think it was probably not a fresh fish. The vegetables looked liked they were over cooked and reheated. The broccoli was no longer green. The clams were the worst clams I ever had. The best thing we had was the clam chowder and a nice view. I was not impressed at all. This restaurant should make sure the seafood is kept fresh especially when serving it to paying customers. I was very disappointed.

Ambiance is amazing. Food not so much, at least not what I ordered. The Po'boy was nothing but bread and Mayo with maybe to little pieces of fish. The marinara sauce w/ linguini was absolutely horrible. The marinara had no flavor whatsoever other than it tasted like it came out of a can. My side dish did not come out w/ the meal. It came 15/20 minutes after the fact. Overall, I was not impressed.

The service was horrendous, we call in advance to reserve a table next to the water arriving @rhe they didn't have the table ready having to wait an additional 15 more plus the waiter never came to my table to bring started at all. Then all the food came at once having to eat the dinner cold because of there bad reserve.

Overpriced and food was mediocre. The bartender did not know how to make an old fashion and was arrogant. I tried to tell him the recipe but he felt like he knew better. I had to look up the recipe and then he said we don't have simple syrup. My family liked the king crab legs.

Seashore is so nostalgic for my family and I. I have been coming here since I was a kid and even celebrated my 21st bday here with my family. I'm now in my 30s. The food is beyond delicious, the portions are huge and the staff is always wonderful. I always look forward to our family trips here.

I don't understand why this place is rated only 3 stars. I had lunch here yesterday and my oh my! I had the Baby Lobster Tails & Sea Scallops and they might possibly be the very BEST broiled scallops I have EVER had in my life! And living in the Maryland, Virginia area, I am accustomed to amazing shellfish. I also waited tables at an upscale seafood restaurant for a few years in my youth that I felt had the best entrees, and this places's food is right up there! The lobster tails were also DELICIOUS! Everything was SO FRESH, it tasted a little sweet.... Mmmm. We ordered oysters on the half shell as appetizers and they were unbelievably fresh and sweet too. I was in CRUSTACEAN HEAVEN. Menu items are a little pricey, but I imagine most restaurants in the Covid-world have raised their prices too. The only thing that truly baffled me were the Tender Chicken Fingers that were priced at $24.95. I know we have impending war with Russia because of Ukraine and gas prices are through the roof, but $24.95 for chicken fingers...? Damn.

My family and I have been eating here at least twice a year for the last 30 years. It's one of the few more formal restaurants on the Island. But service has gotten slower and the ambiance could use an upgrade. The food is still decent and it was good to see some newer items on the menu.

I am writing this review while still sitting at the table at the Seashore restaurant. The service is HORRIBLE. Our server (older male) was NOT attentive. I ordered Chicken Parm. The chicken was over cooked and VERY salty. Our server barely came to the table. When he FINALLY came to the table and was told I was not happy with my food, all our server did was hand me a menu to order something else. The server had a very non-chalant attitude. We had to ask for utensils (party of 4), utensils for 2. Had to ask twice for straws. Still waiting for our server to come back to the table. Asked the bussboy to go get our server. Had the nerve to finally come to the table and ask if we wanted dessert. For the price you pay, the service should be better. HORRIBLE service. ​

I just love this place. The restaurant is well kept. Family restaurant but also great for date night. The servers are very friendly and entertaining. I love this place so much I had my wedding dinner in their private dining room. My family still talks about the food and the fun til this day.

Came for late lunch/ early dinner and everything was delicious. The service was excellent and everyone was pleasant and professional.

Be careful with your credit charges. I used my credit card and they change the totals on your charges. the bill was for 316.78 and we split the check where we each paid 158.39. they charged my card 180.90. We gave cash tip. on top of that the food was cold and fishy. there shrimp scampi is more like butter tasting.

Service was great here as were the views but the food was overall disappointing and very expensive. The in house cornbread is great as were the kids' pastas. All of the seafood was disappointing. The steamers were undercooked. Lobster roll was oddly prepared (lots of extra sauce on top). For $40-$50 a plate, I expected fresher and better quality food.

Food was unseasoned and way over cooked. The lobster tail and shrimp were so over cooked it was like chewing on rubber. Even the fries were inedible. They also give you a weird plate of what looks like soggy canned vegetables as complimentary but they look and smell disgusting. The only thing that was good was the bread which was taken when our entrees arrived.

Wonderful dining experience during COVID! Tables are extremely well-spaced and everyone who works here wears masks and is so nice and accommodating. We got here for opening at 11am on a Sunday and had our pick of tables. Seating on the dock was lovely and the hostess let us have a four top for two so we could be closer to the water. Go early as they do fill up--by 3 there was a half hour long line for tables! Anyway, we were right by the water and had a lovely view of the whole marina. No matter what you order, you get a tray of bites that include marinated mushrooms, olives, cheese, and a loaf of freshly baked bread that resembles a warm giant Kaiser roll. Oh and you also get cornbread. My mom and I got the Brazilian lobster tail special to share and the meal came with two lobster tails, side salads, and a choice of a side dish-- definitely get the fries! The lobster was exceptionally well-seasoned, sweet and fresh. Just perfect and this was more than enough food for the two of us. Not wanting to waste food, we asked the server for a box to pack up some of the bread and cheese to take home, and he brought us a bag with a brand new tray of snacks and a new loaf of bread! So unexpected and nice, what a guy! There is also seating on a covered patio. Inside, there are men's, women's and gender neutral/wheelchair accessible bathrooms. The accessible bathroom was very spacious and there was really nowhere on the property that I was unable to access in my wheelchair. Would definitely come back and highly recommend. Yeah it's pricey but totally worth it for the quality and quantity of food and, as well as the excellent service and ambiance.

Sea Shore restaurant is a great place to eat. The food was delicious and service was good as well as the atmosphere. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Great stake love the bread and olive board. Very good ambiance and cute area. We went we coworkers and we had fun. Fast service great customer service
