Fun local bar with a nautical theme. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The mixed drinks were great and beer selection had a good options. Bar food was decent variety (including seafood options to keep with the theme) Got the burger (which came with friends). On the smaller end but taste good. They do charge extra (3.5%) for credit card.

Super chill atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and chill. The food was amazing! Hats off to Chef Mo. The fish tacos were fresh, crispy on the outside and juicy inside just like the popcorn shrimp. The nuggets were juicy and tasty. The burgers were juicy and super flavorful. Everything was absolutely amazing! Definitely coming back!

This place was such an amazing find - will definitely visit EVERY time we’re in the area. The backyard is a beautiful oasis; you feel like you’re out of the city!

Who doesn’t love Sea Witch?! The bartenders are super cool, the cocktail menu is killer, and the atmosphere is everything—witchy nautical vibes with a legit decked out fish tank behind the bar and a koi pond in the backyard, where you might even be lucky enough to see a cat! Yes please. Not to mention their extensive and most excellent draft beer selection, eclectic and surprisingly delicious food menu, and incredibly sweet food-order-takers who have happily brought my food out to me even though you get the vibrating thing to go get it yourself. I think I speak for all of south Brooklyn when I say, if I could give this place 10 stars, I would!!!

Some bars actually care about their food. This is not one of them Edit: in regards to the response, you guys must be confusing me for someone else because i didn’t ask for soup, I ordered a burger and fries and chicken nuggets. Inflation hurts us all and i want you and all our local businesses to succeed, but when there are similar establishments out there in bk who put passion into their food, it feels bad to pay $40 after tip for a small greasy meal that ultimately made me and my girlfriend feel gross. Maybe i caught yall on an off night, and im sorry for the not so constructive original review. but I genuinely just want a bar with solid food in the neighborhood and after my meal yesterday i thought that more care could have gone into the food with that price tag attached.

Was so excited to go to this bar and heard a lot about it but had the worst experience! When I was talking to the bartender with the curls and mustache he got mad when I asked him how much he makes an hour (I even told him as a bartender to a bartender) and he threw my drink away and kicked me out! If you want your place to work don't hire inadequate workers.

What a waste of a good atmosphere. Had a nightcap with family visiting the city. We stopped in for one drink and called it a night for their first day. While paying, my elder relative tried making small-talk about drink-making related ingredients that were on the counter. Barely even 10 words out of her mouth. This was enough to set off the bartender into a monologue of being offended. At first we thought it was was a joke, but we quickly realized there was no punch line. This was an incredibly uncomfortable end to the night, I can not recommend this place to anyone after witnessing the treatment of a patron. I can understand bartenders get comments all the time, but the comment from my relative was so incredibly mild, the response was uncalled for - retrain your staff. Great bar, but the new kitchen staff clearly aren’t set up to service their clientele and we’re a bit rude. The amount of times they’ve abruptly cutoff service after long wait lines in one night alone is ridiculous. Disappointing turn for such a great spot!

While looking for a place to sit and have a beer while waiting for my family, I happened upon this gem accidentally! Didn't get a chance to taste their food (as we had dinner reservations elsewhere), but the menu looked great, and their drink selection was good too! Loved, LOVED the vibe here, the look and feel of the place was cozy, chic and friendly. Hope to stop by again when we're in the area!

I love this bar! I love the fish and the turtles, I love the food, I love the beers. Tried an interesting tomato beer last time I was in with some girlfriends. A solid spot, I've been patronizing for years and can't recommend it enough.

Service at the bar is pretty terrible so don't expect service with a smile. The bartender was too busy chilling with the blonde chick when I was there and observing the fish. The line chef tries his best but the food is a step below McDonald's. I got the filet o fish and it was two frozen fish patties with a cheap amount of tarter sauce and sad lettuce and tomato. It was a sad looking sandwich. I give this place three stars for trying on the part of the line chef but the bartender has a stuck up attitude for south slope. has an in/outdoor seating; the AC was blasted indoor so it was a bit cold. there's a kitchen once you come in but we didn't get to try the food. Though the ambience was chill vibes, the music was a bit too loud and obviously patrons were loud as well, couldn't really hear each other. Maybe we'd try the outdoor seating next time.

Hallelujah, the full food menu has returned to Sea Witch! When we first went in 2020 they'd narrowed things down to some safe but kinda boring options, so I was pleased to see it restored to its full glory on a recent visit. I really enjoyed my fried oyster po'boy, and my friends liked their popcorn shrimp, pork schnitzel sandwich, and burger. Food aside, the bar has such thoughtful decor and chill vibes, from the very cool ship-inspired exterior and gorgeous fish tank behind the bar to the open and relaxing backyard, complete with ample seating and a mini waterfall with actual fish swimming around in it. I'm sure they do quite well for themselves in winter, but their patio's really the highlight once that warmer weather kicks in.

The guy barely looked up from his phone to take our order. $15 for a White Castle sized fish sandwich with one piece of old romaine lettuce (you know the part you usually throw away) thrown on the fish. And it doesn't even come with fries or a pickle . $15 for that!!! What a joke!

Lousy food, indifferent service, overpriced, basically nothing right about this place.

Nice place. Was my alternative choice as the restaurant we wanted to visit was hosting a party. Food was tasty and nicely priced. We enjoyed the backyard and had lively conversation with another family. Will go back if I'm in that area.

TL;DR: food is pretty good! Service was pretty terrible and the bar was *way* under staffed. Really wanted to like it but probably won't be back. Bummer. Honestly, the food is pretty good for bar food. The cook on the grill is great and pretty fast... *if he gets the order* and that's a big IF. The person taking orders was... not great. They spoke so quietly (mumbled) that I had to ask them to repeat themselves and lean over the counter just to be able to hear their questions. My little buzzer never want off, but my friend's, who ordered after me, did. So when I went to go check in on my order it was sitting on the counter with another patron signing their bill, leaning over my food, with their face/mouth about 7 inches away from the burger and fries that I was just about to eat... The burger itself was good! The service - not so much. My other party member never had their buzzer go off and when they went to inquire... it turns out that their ticket had fallen behind something on the counter and never made it to the cook. The cook came over to the counter himself and asked what it was supposed to be and made it super quick... *and it was good!* (popcorn shrimp and tomato & cucumber salad ((mid July))) THE BAR: it was trivia night and there was only one bartender who was completely overwhelmed. Not their fault but definitely a staffing issue.

Flavor is there! Delicious fish sandwich and fries. Crispy and very well made. The size/portions birder on a rip off. I wish the filet was a meatier piece of fish and another handful of fries would have been nice. Missing a whole star because of this

I like to market this as a themed dive bar, but my partner thinks it's a bit too classy for that. While I've only ever been here in the evening, there's an outdoor patio space with a water feature and tons of green that make you feel like you're transported into another land. The bar is also never too crowded, and you can usually find a table to have a drink with a few friends. The rest of the decor is also worth mentioning: in the front, the bowed our structure reminds you of being on a ship, while the bar area has a live aquarium atop; the back contains murals of sirens and mermaids, also a nice touch. I wouldn't rave about all of the food, but the fries are definitely some of the best in a bar I've had (we also got the sriracha honey chicken sandwich which was fine, and the schnitzel, which was a bit meh; the shishito peppers were surprisingly hot, while the popcorn shrimp was sad). Beside that, service can be a little slow with one bartender, but again, it's usually not so crowded that you have to wait very long. Enjoy!

Chill bar with great food, garden and staff! Love the shishito peppers, schnitzel, spicy honey chicken sandwich - and their fries are great! Bartenders are cool and they truly have one of the nicest backyards - small but landscaped, with plenty of seating and TWO ponds with fish and turtles! Fun place - recommend!

Made a quick stop into Sea Witch on Friday evening. A fantastic dive bar that has nailed everything from the drinks to the ambiance. It is a place worth going out of your way to visit. Quality: There is just something about a great dive bar that is so appealing, and Sea Witch definitely falls into that category. The space, the staff, and the drinks were all excellent, and I have a feeling the food is awesome too. We only stopped in for one drink, but I know I will be back soon. On this evening I went with the Kelapa, a cocktail with bourbon, cold brew coffee, and vanilla. A little jolt of energy in this slushy-type beverage packed with a lot of flavor. With more time I would have explored the extensive beer menu. A quick look showed a great mix of local and high quality breweries being represented. Quantity: I love that they serve cocktails as either a double or a triple. No messing around with weak drinks. Value: $14-$18 for the Summer Cocktails. Ambiance: Sea Witch is located south of Park Slope in Brooklyn. It is a place you see the name and you know you will be back. Also, I love the sign advertising the best backyard in Brooklyn, and it is hard to argue with them. Not many yards have an elaborate koi pond setup. In a storied garden space, they have tables that wrap around a surprisingly large pond filled with fish. However, I would argue inside is even better. With a nautical theme, the inside is made to feel like you are in a sunken ship. A large fish tank glows behind the bar, and the blue lights the rest of the space. It is relatively dim inside with just a few candles and lights to illuminate the rest of the decor, including the creepy mural towards the back. Excellent alternative rock tunes pulled everything together, though I hope a sea shanty or two pops on every so often. Crowd: A good amount of people both inside and out. It was a hot evening, so I was surprised so many people were in the back patio, even though it was very nice. Inside about half the tables were filled, along with a few seats at the bar. Service: The bartender was friendly and fast. There are plenty of regulars at this bar, and she did not miss a beat, making my drinks while chatting with two other customers. Parking: A fair amount of street parking in the area.

I refused to buy anything when I was there with friends due to how rude the bartender was to my friend. My friend asked him the same question twice (as people often do for whatever reason!) and the bartender had a snarky reply, looked at me, and then proceeded to loudly talk to his coworker about how my friend is "too much" and that he doesn't "belong here". So hostile and uncomfortable.

Love the Sea Witch! The backyard is amazing in the summer. The bar has lots of energy on the weekends but isn't crowded, which is IDEAL. Prices are medium - I wouldn't say it's cheap nor expensive - and they have a good selection of beers on tap. The bartenders and staff are very friendly and quick. The fried chicken sandwich, fries and nuggets are good to munch on. I occasionally go to trivia Mondays, which are fun! The prizes are a range of gift cards to the bar at a later date. This is definitely a gem of a place!

I love the ambience here. The fish tank behind the bar is stellar and the turtle pond in the back is such a nice addition in the summer. We love trivia on Monday nights, drinks are good and bartenders are nice, food is a little small and pricey though.

The Sea Witch is less of a "hole in the wall" but rather a "cove in the wall." I first discovered this place half a year ago as I was exploring the south slope region and I was immediately caught by the front of this place. It gave off a really strong "moody" feel... and that is my favorite type of feel for a bar! Inside the Sea Witch it's dark, and filled with maritime paraphernalia. Past the area were you can order food your immediate attention will focus on the large aquarium that aligns the wall of the full bar. Honestly it makes you feel like your in a Herman Melville story, if that makes any sense. The music they play here fits the mood perfectly. It's hard to describe but it's like an eclectic indie mix of stuff. It's never too energetic and it's great for drinking. I have a feeling these are staff picks because I have noticed a couple of times that the bartender here gets into the songs mood. As advertised from the front the bar does have 20 beers on tap. It's quite an interesting selection and you will find some unique beers on the menu like an "old ale" that has a distinct wine taste to it. For the less outlandish selection you can find city favorites like Six Point here as well. Besides beer the cocktails are also appealing. During the winter I had a mulled wine here which I was disappointed to find out was only a seasonal drink. Turns out a lot of their drinks rotate! As said before you can also order food near the front entrance. It's mostly a selection of seafood/grill options like popcorn shrimp, fish tacos and burgers. I was also shocked to see Spiedie Chicken on the menu. I have not seen that sandwich served since my college days in Binghamton NY but it is a welcome one. If you open a tab at the bar you can order from their service window and it will be added. The Sea Witch is a wonderful bar with a great atmosphere, nice staff and quality drinks. I haven't been to their back yet but I would love to try it out and see their fish!

Three words: fish tank drinking. This may be my favorite bar in south slope. This place has four perks that bump it into 5 star range: - The magical fish tank - outdoor seating with some cover - top notch beer list - Kitchen that's open late with high end bar food The music is a diverse mix of hip hop and rap, the bar tender is attentive, the crowd is hipster but not over bearing. There were two clean bathrooms and the tables were spread throughout the narrow space well. These small details are hard to find so when a bar does all of them well, I notice. The burger and fries were cooked simply and perfectly, and cost $13 total. And the beer was the rare craft kind but never more than $9. In Brooklyn, that's a great deal. If you come here, you won't want to leave.

Service kinda rude. Music too loud for conversation despite requests to turn it down. (If you can't hear my drink order and there are only a handful of people in the bar, maybe the music's too loud.) My friend got insulted by one of the regulars when he went to pay his check(!) Really, guys? Food ok, but no better than other places in the neighborhood.

A group of friends brought me here last night around 8:00 (Friday). Sea Witch has a really cool underwater vibe. I thought it was totally unexpected for the area but I'm happy I took the plunge (see what I did there?) The music is a bit loud but not outside. This hoppin' place has an outdoor patio area that has ample communal picnic-table style seating. The doors to the back were open wide which was nice for a 70 degree breeze. I'm sure I'm the summer it gets busy here. The prices are decent here. A standard can will be around $7. A cocktail is more around $9 or $10. Not bad for being so close to South Slope. We ate food here too. I had the burger which curbed my hunger. It wasn't super fantastic but it was a standard burger. It's a thin patty that comes on a toasted potato roll with tomato, onion, and a thin coat of iceberg lettuce. Friends had the BLT which they finished happily. The French fries are the thin, salty and soft kind which I love. They go down with the burger well. I'll come back in the summer when I can snag a seat outdoors!

This is one of the best bars in New York City! The drinks are delicious, the ambience is always perfect, and they have a beautiful garden to hang out in during the summertime. The food is expensive, and not good or bad. It's a great place to have drinks and hang out with friends, just eat before or after.

Came here with a page from the Brooklyn Pub Pass. This bar/small plates restaurant has a nautical theme to it. The outside "Sea Witch" sign is donned on a sail. When you first walk in, there is a small kitchen to order food. Once you go a little further, there is a huge bar with a big fish tank above it and tables in the back to eat. They also have an outdoor area which is probably open on less cold days. My friends and I took a seat at one of the tables towards the back. We went back to the bar to order our drinks first. I tried to order the Fair State Lactobac: out. Damn, okay, so I went for my second choice, the Grimm Telos: also out. I was going to go for my third choice but I guess the bartender sensed it and told me that the Grimm Lucky Cloud was also out. It was a little disappointing that at roughly 8 on a Saturday all these beers have already kicked. So I settled for a Jack's Abby House Lager. It was light in color but heavy in taste. It had a very distinct sweet malt flavor which went well with my food. The next beer I ordered after was the Right Proper Astral Weeks Saison. It was also light in color, but lighter in taste. This was very interesting. When you first take the sip, all you taste are spices. After you swallow, the after taste is somewhat sour. Not sure how they pulled that off but it was good! They also have a nice selection of Japanese whiskies! If you want to order food here, you have to start a tab at the bar and then go to kitchen around the corner after to order. Once you've ordered, the cook will give you a timeframe to come back and pick up the food. I ordered the pork schnitzel sandwich. It was as big as my face! It was also a nice little curb to my beer-induced craving. It was a bit of a trek to come here from Queens but definitely a good experience. My only reason for the four stars is the fact that they were out of so many beers so early in the night. If I return, I'll probably come earlier in the day.

It's a sunny day and you find yourself in the Slope craving a cold beer and some grub. There are two options: Greenwood Park which is fun, but usually quite noisy (due to the combo of music and the crowd) and over-run with kids OR Sea Witch, an out-of-the-way spot with a lovely back garden that tends to be nice and low-key. Walking into Sea Witch is like entering a cave or more likely their intent, the hull of a ship. It's dark, with a full bar and a smattering of tables. As you enter the place, before reaching the bar, you'll see a window where you place your food order. There is no table service, but they try to approximate when your food will be ready to be picked up at the window. Not ideal, as fries can get cold fast if your pick-up timing isn't just right. We always opt for the delicious Pork Schnitzel sandwich and/or the Spiedie Chicken sandwich...and, of course, hand-cut fries. Your beer selection depends on your preference. They have about 20 beers on tap...IPA's, Goses, Stouts, Farmhouse, etc...and a couple cider options. And they've been known to have hard-to-find beers from Maine Beer Company on tap. The bar tenders are typically very nice and will help you select something to suit your palate. The hidden treasure of this place is through the back doors and up a few steps where you'll find people chilling, chatting and enjoying craft brews and food. In the background is the faint sound of a little bubbling stream, replete with fish and turtles. Don't expect luxury seating in the back yard...it's your standard picnic-style tables, but they do the trick. I mean, it's so hard to find places with outdoor space! I hesitate to share this gem, as I don't want hipsters to overtake the back yard. That said, you should definitely give it a try, schnitzel sandwich and all. Ahoy!

Needed a decent bar in the neighborhood and found this place. A cute very nautical bar with friendly bartenders. My date ordered well gin tonics and they were actually good! (Usually hate well) Ambience was good, even in the face of corona. Food smelled delicious but I didn't order any. Will be back!

Awesome little place. Great looking fish tank. Nice selection of beers and spirits. The back has nice seating area with a cool decor to it. Food window is open late. Go for the clam roll and fries. Great local place that is worth going back to!

Great place for a Saturday night hang out with some good drink specials. Very affordable for a night on the cheaper end! I also love because able to buy snackies with my drinks. The nachos weren't great but the French fries were delicious.

Another place in the city that is convincing me that chicken wings are actually good. This bar by far has one of the best happy hours for food in all the boroughs, offering up $1 wings, oysters, and cauliflower wings. Each one of which are fantastic. Pro-tip order your wings with sauce on the side to get them extra crispy. Wash it all down with a $6 painkiller and take in the surfer punk decor.

I gave this place 3 1/2 stars. My friend brought me to this place because of the nice big outdoor space. We got beer and headed to the patio. The likes - assorted menu of beer - bartender was patient and helpful at helping me pick my beer. Gave me a few tastings so I could pick what i like - decor was quite unique - a big barrel of water as they don't have table service (this might also be on the dislike list) The dislikes - even though the outdoor space is big, 1/2 of the place was reserve and the other half taken - SMOKERS. I had to move inside as I didn't want to get lungs cancer by inhaling so much 2nd hand smoke - inside wasn't any better because it's an open space - i know bars are dark but somehow this place seemed darker - you have to go back to the entrance to order your food, as i said no table service - they run out of pretty much everything when we ordered around 8pm. - ended up with schnitzel over greens. It was ok. A bit dry. - shishito peppers. I had them before but this were extra hot. Fries were ok. I do want to come back and try their fish tacos, which i heard were very good.

If you're in the area and you haven't been here, you're missing out on some of the best food and drinks this area has to offer. Obviously they go hard on the seafood- fish tacos, fried oysters (by themselves or as a sandwich), clam strips and more. And AMAZING hand cut, fried to order fries. (We got one order for the 3 of us, ended up getting a second.) The staff is also very knowledgeable but not stuck up about it. And they make some killer frozen margaritas and an awesome daiquiri. The backyard is smoking permitted, so if that's your thing it's there for you. Chill vibes, great food, great drinks. What more could you want?!

Bring it to the back patio Food: mediocre & overpriced I ordered fried oysters with mango salsa - 5 pieces for $9.50 & Large fries $4 Drinks: order @ the bar - $2 off drafts, well drinks, and wine during happy hour (5 - 7 PM) -I really like their cider that they had on draft. It wasn't too sweet like other ciders. I forgot the name of it though... Water: there's a huge barrel by the bar with clean cups next to it. serve yourself Outdoor back patio (4 stars): so pretty. mini pond in the corner with fish and a turtle. It's also kid friendly. There were a lot of kids on a Friday evening running around and sitting by the pond talking to the turtle. Overall, it's a bar with a nice a outdoor patio in the back. Come for drinks and hang out. Food is just Meh OK.

The outside koi fish ponds really were a sight to see. We didn't get to try any of the food but the drinks were moderately priced and the bartender was real nice about the fact we didn't recognize anything on the menu. 5/5 for ambiance.

Perhaps the ambience is nice if you're there, but we made the mistake of ordering takeout and the burger and fries look and taste like McDonalds.

Sea Witch is an awesome bar. First off, they have a fantastic selection of local, craft beers. They have beers on tap from breweries like Folksbier and Peekskill. The offering are pretty diverse; they had sour ales, wild ales, stouts, and various IPAs. The atmosphere and the bartenders were great too. They played some great hip hop. Unfortunately, it was a little too cold to venture out to the outdoor patio, but I'd like to check it out in the summer. They also have a delicious menu of bar food. It's simple but hits the spot. We shared fried oysters and a grilled cheese sandwich.

Meh, average Brooklyn hipster place. So so food. They have a million items on the food menu, but they're out of 99 percent of them by 9:00 pm? Drinks average... I wouldn't go out of my way to go to this place...

This place has the coolest backyard with a manmade stream and koi pond. It's a very chill atmosphere perfect for after work social gatherings. I usually come here for their fried clams sandwich. You get a generous portion of clams that's not heavily breaded so you can actually taste the clams. The pork schnitzel is also super tasty and not dried at all. I've also had the fish taco and the bluepoint club (fried oysters) and honestly I loved them all. This is a solid place to eat and drink casually. Also the price point is still moderately decent so that's a plus for great food! Update: July 2, 207 The kitchen and establishment has changed a bit and the food is def not as good. Their tacos were downright disappointing. The blue point club was sub par at best. And also they no longer have server service. Oh well, still good if you come for drinks. Cheers!

I was trying for a long time to figure out a suitable bar to waddle over to post Talde for birthday shenanigans for a good long while. Well, I think I deliberated over it at the last second for like a day. I didn't want to go to the double Windsor, I needed a bar large enough for 20 of my nearest and dearest drunkard friends to wash down some reasonably cheap-ish beverages and this popped up on Yelp. I had never been here but have been to Freddy's near by a number of times. Which eventually of course happened at the end of the night. I mean, it is the Addams Family bar of South Slope, after all. This caught my eye with the outdoor garden and the fish tanks. There's a Moorish Idol fish (Gil) from finding Nemo in the main tank behind the bar, say hello. The garden out back has a bunch of picnic tables, heated lamps, bridges, little pools with brightly colored fish. It's a nice touch. A huge mermaid mural on the wall, which makes a certain Little Mermaid enthusiast named Steph P. insanely happy, though I think the older mermaids scared her. This bar is both divey and oddly charming and kind of beautiful. I'm completely surprised with it all. Great list of beers on tap and a shockingly delicious food menu. Though, I didn't eat here a number of my friends did and one dude got a huge Pork Schnitzel sandwich with deep fried pork loin, banana peppers, mayo & mustard and another had the fried bluepoint oysters with Louisiana-Gold hot sauce, blue cheese dressing, and crumbled bacon. I was in my happy place and someone passed me a glass of Apple bourbon which was probably the beginning of the end. I will definitely be back here again and soon because I could probably just walk here now that I think about it from my house. Perfecto!

I love Sea Witch and even moreso love living 2 blocks away from it. It's definitely my go-to bar when I also need to grab a bite. They always have at least 2 sours (my fave) on tap and their selection rotates frequently. The food is maybe not the cheapest but it always hits the spot. I always get the fish tacos and shishito peppers. Carlos at the window is so nice and funny. For brunch they make a killer spicy bloody mary. Lovely backyard (though it gets very buggy at dusk; they should provide bugspray and/or get citronella candles) and fun weird decor. The aquarium behind the bar is impressive.

Really loving this backyard bar- if only it weren't so far. Beautiful lush backyard complete with two koi ponds, turtles, and a little stream. Nautical themed, wooden interior, fish tank with exotic fish (including one that may have been fed fish food crack... swimming frantically, non-stop, from end to end for a solid 30 minutes plus), chain linked bar seats, sketches of mythical sea witches. There's a nice line-up of beers and service is friendly. Thought it was smart having the bar food stand in a separate, cordoned off section- menu looked great, unfortunately was too full at the time to try anything. Watch out for the blackberries splattered all over the backyard- not much to be done when there's a giant sprawling blackberry tree in the backyard. Just don't wear anything you mind getting stained!

Walked into this place on a whim for Sunday lunch, we had actually got turned away from one of our favorite brunch spots but they were too packed. The menu outside was more than enough to get us in the door. You order at a little window and then walk into the dinning/bar area. The theme of the restaurant is evident throughout, there's a fish tank behind the bar, mermaid paintings and lots of other deep sea themed decorations as well as an outdoor seating. We wanted to order everything on the menu, but we ended up ordering fries (they aren't anything out of this world but they taste very good and are well seasoned), fried oysters (delicious and not too oily), fish filet, and cheeseburgers (basic but very delicious as well). Definitely can't wait to come back and try more on the menu.

Interesting cocktails, a pretty good beer list, and an awesome fish tank. I like all of the nautical stuff, it was themed without being silly. We stopped in on a Thursday night, it was pretty quiet. A nice place to meet a friend for a drink or two, a good place to have a conversation. The bartender was friendly and quick with a drink.

Bartender was incredibly rude and entitled. Became nasty with me and the person I was with because we didn't "tip her 20%". Mind you, we gave her a $4 tip for two beers and two shots. A dollar a pour as is customary. There was also nobody in there which made it all the more mystifying.

I've been going to this place for years, and I can't think of a more welcoming vibe anywhere else in the NYC area. The beer selection is excellent, the food is good (especially the whole belly clams), and the bartenders are friendly. I love the enormous aquarium; and I've become good friends with the fish and turtles that live in the outdoor pond. The backyard is a perfect place to spend a few hours on a warm day. I am a 60+ woman, and I generally spend time here with friends my age, a fact I share so readers know Sea Witch attracts a wide range of patrons. Say hello to Eduardo when ordering your food; he's one of the nicest people ever!

The best thing about this spot is the decor and the drinks. The wall art is pretty cool and its a nice size spot. The bartender made a good ass drink but he looked like he just came form the sauna. In the summer with the back door closed and lock plus no fan, Im surprised no one passed the hell out?!?!? I was like I know I saw this place had an outdoor space...needless to say it was not open!! Which would not have been a real problem if you had a ceiling fan or hell just go to Target and get a couple of fans to put in the windows?!?!?! Just so confused cuz the staff looked hot and sweaty. Not appealing when your service looks like the just been ran thur by the devil?!?! When the menu is so simple it should be good but no not even close at the Sea Witch. Very pricey mediocre/bad food.... 1. Fish tacos...what was the white stuff on the top...Greek yogurt?!?! Chef needs major lesson on breading and frying fish...tragic 2. Al pastor taco...why do you call them Al pastor....just say pork cuz you are missing leading real taco eaters....HORRIBLE!!!! 3. LMAO cheese burger tasted like my six year cousin made it?!?!?! And the crowd can get really loud like screaming/hollering loud. Also I must say the crowd must be very loyal or local cuz aint no way anybody drink in that heat unless the bartender is hooking you up or you live around the block?!?! Very Dissapointed

What can I say!? I'm a sucker for the nautical, rocker themed bars with amazing patios! And let's not forget the best bar pond I've even seen. The pond even includes the bones of an old patron. Hahahaha! The bartenders here are always really nice too. And I find it pretty awesome that being a pescatarian (I'm a vegetarian that eats seafood...I know it sounds like a religion) I have many things to pick from on the menu. I ordered the veggie cutlet roll yesterday and I loved the Indian spices. Food starts at 5pm and you order at the window and it can get added to your bar tab. And one of the best deals for happy hour, $2off all drafts! That is some quality beer for low prices indeed!

The backyard garden is an natural OASIS from the city. I love the site of fishes in the pond. The sound of rolling water. The wood benches, wood trunk seats and long wood tables. So nice to be in nature, despite being in the Gowanus. If it's wet or cold outdoors, there's indoor seating. Bar stools and booth seating. Several beers on tap. The bartender was so hospitable. She allowed me to sample a few draft beers until I decided on one. They sell food, near the entrance. Tacos and such. It's billed separately from your bar tab. Lastly, tap water self-service located towards end of the bar. Luv it!

Stopped in here for some happy hour drinks after pizza at Giuseppina's. Wasn't crowded or loud and was lit well enough. Good place to sit and have a conversation. All things that I really enjoy about a bar space. Also really enjoyed the stools. Comfortable and stylish. The decor is mostly hipsterish Brooklyn except for the giant electronic fish tank that kinda looks out of place. Had a few beers to drink, draft and cans. The bartender (don't recall her name), made good recommendations and understand the beer and tap list well. Always a bonus when a place serves beer from breweries you've never tried, as was the case here. Worth a visit if you're looking for a good beer selection or to kill some time.

Late night bar and take out. Food is whatever not good but when you can't find anything where else serving at 2:30am, ok. Drinks were strong but nothing special. Crowd was annoying young hipsters. There was this one really loud girl that voice hurt my ears.

Great bar in this neighborhood, and definitely one of the best kept secrets in Brooklyn. The backyard is a dream! You order food at the kitchen, and pick it up when they text you. You order drinks at the bar, and the kitchen can put your food order on the same tab. So efficient! The background is beautiful, with a little water feature running across and a small bridge. Tables and trees line the sides of the backyard. We sat outside because it was a rare warm April day during an unseasonal cold front (climate change amirite?). The beer selection on tap was huge, and they also had a few ciders and sours. Prices were really affordable! We ordered fries, the BLT, and the pork schnitzel sandwich. The fries were a treat - they were the shoestring kind, and the pork schnitzel sandwich was delicious. The BLT was good too, but I probably wouldn't order it again since they're usually better coming from a deli. All in all, I found my new summer bar!
